Quite large portion so make sure you bring an appetite! A little bit pricey for burger but I have to try the other variations of the burger combination as I only tried the Elite Burger. I also tried the Colombian Papas Locas which was a large platter of French fries with chicken, corn, hotdogs and beef on top with cheese and bacon baked with their sauce drizzled. It was so good! In terms of ambiance, there isn't much since they are located inside an office suite which was a bit challenging to find since I was expecting a bigger sign outside. They have outdoor and indoor limited seating which I can see be utilized when the offices are busy or on the weekends when families want to spend time together outside. Service was good but the food does take some time as it is cooked with attention to detail.

Came here during lunch on a Friday. I had an exceptional dining experience, thanks to Juanita, who provided outstanding service. She was attentive and warmly engaging, making us feel right at home. The menu featured a fantastic array of dishes, and I was particularly impressed with the quality of the food; every bite was bursting with flavor. To top it off, the beer selection was excellent, offering a variety of local and imported brews, along with unique options that perfectly complemented our meal. Overall, it was a delightful evening filled with great food and wonderful hospitality!

Found this little jewel off the beaten path. It's a Mexican twist on American burgers. Walk in and you order then sit. Welcome very nicely by some very lovely ladies. They have plenty of table for two inside and more family friendly outside. Menu is simple and infuses Hispanic flavors. I ordered the Cowboy burger and cooked to order. The flavors and tenderness was spot on. The purple bun was a nice flair. It was just a little too soggy as it had lots of juices from the ingredients. Wife had the Mexican burger without a bun and she really enjoyed it with the fresh guacamole. Chicken tenders for the little one. All around a great food experience.

PASSION FRUIT MARGARITA 16 oz

Good food. Love the ambiance, the hidden entry to the second floor sitting area. Service was good, everyone was helpful and friendly. I had the cowboy burger, the hot mango wings, and the passion fruit margarita. If I go again I will try the pizza, tacos or empanadas.

Burger and fries

This place could be a top notch gourmet burger shop with a few little fixes. First, the burger patty needed seasoning. It was super bland. Second, the burger needs some sort of sauce. Look up Bad Daddy's Burgers and their sauces are next level. Third, my bun and fries were cold. Overall, pretty good burger, but has some potential to go to that next level of good!

I really liked walking into this restaurant. Adorned with fake leaves on the wall and wooden paneling it feels earthy and alive. There's some seating inside (smaller circular tables with tall chairs) and more outside (picnic tables for larger groups). The music plays both inside and outside so you get to enjoy the feel of the restaurant despite where you sit. What we got: The Cowboy - 5* this was fantastic! The fried egg is slightly gooey in the middle, the arugula adds a nice sharp note, the onion rings weren't overpowering, and the bacon was yum. I also enjoyed the black bun (apparently made with squid ink and bamboo charcoal). My partner asked for the burger to be medium rare (they ask how you want your burger cooked) but it was delivered well done. That aside, he gives the burger a solid 4* in taste. Fries - 5* crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And a great flavor. Perfection. These are an ad on to the meal. It comes with ketchup and a delicious green dipping sauce. We have no idea what's in it (maybe some lime and mayo and spices?) but who cares! It's unique and enjoyable.

Margarita, piña colada

Incredible. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. We had tacos, margs, burgers, and a piña colada, and every sip/bite had us saying OMG. Not the cheapest meal around but worth every single penny. Frozen drinks are made with real rum/tequila (not wine-based), burgers are cooked to perfection, birria tacos were some of the most flavorful we've had... I could go on and on. Plus, with three menus/food types, you'll never run out of new things to try here. I partly want to share this place with the world and ensure it succeeds, and partly want to keep it our secret. It's THAT good.

Omg dude. The cowboy burger is everything. Been out and about all day sweating. This burger is huge and full of flavor. Just what I needed for dinner after a long day. Service is like European heheh... by that I mean expect to wait a bit, it not fast food but has a fast food setup. Totally worth it tho.

I came here for the hype from other people to get takeout. It is a combination of Mexican, American, and Italian food options in one place=unique! 1) presentation is nice and packaged very well. All condiments are in bags. 2) taco is ok. Carna asada, beef tongue tacos were so dry and not very much seasoned. I had to use from the extra spicy sauce to make it little flavorful. 3) Mexican burger was ok! It looked delicious but it was just too bland for me. My husband got the cowboy burger. He enjoyed it. 4) grilled cheese and tomato soup is ok. Tomato soup is very dense which means mg daughter wasn't able to dip her grilled cheese in her tomato soup to enjoy. 5) chicken tender and fries was decent. Good meaty portion on the chicken tenders. I personally would never come back to this place as it is overpriced for mediocre food.

My burger being flame kissed!

After seeing a rave review of this impressive burger joint in a local magazine, I just had to stop in and try one myself! The place is located in a business park, far from any "typical" eatery, but it's easily found, as it has the colorful outdoor table umbrellas noticeable from the road as you pull into the parking lot. Upon walking in, I learned that this is part of a "restaurant group" which is comprised of three restaurants and all three are in this same location... This burger joint, a Mexican/taco joint and an Italian/Pizza joint... Very odd! But if they execute the other genres of food as amazingly well as they do burgers, there's no doubt those are outstanding as well... I'll find out on another trip! The chef who took my order was very helpful and explained how they make their burgers and even made changes based on my tastes (such as adding more of their housemade hot sauce to their mayo to make a spicier burger for me. I ordered the Cowboy Burger and it came out PERFECT and looked EXACTLY like the professional picture I saw online - how amazing!!! When asked what side I wanted, I love onion rings so I asked what made theirs special and he told me that they make them in-house, daily! So, of course I got those as well. They were great too! Perfect crunch, not overdone and thankfully, no panko on them, they were beer batter style. Overall, I enjoyed this visit and would definitely suggest this joint to others... I'll be back myself!

We tried to eat the pizza because we are not complainers!

The broth is light but savory, and it comes packed with several large, well-seasoned dumplings that are clearly the star of the show. The dumplings are tender and filled with a good mix of meat and vegetables. It also had some nice additions like sliced scallions and egg ribbons that gave it that authentic home-cooked feel. It's a perfect option if you want something a bit lighter or healthier than the fried chicken, especially on a cold day. My only small gripe is that I wish it came with a side of rice to make it even more filling, but overall, it's a solid 4/5. Definitely a hidden gem on their menu. The service was amazing & the place is never busy. Perfect ambiance!

Today was an exception to the usual experience. Edamame were cooked to mush, tteokbokki (should be firm and spongey) was the consistency of overcooked spaghetti, and the smallest saddest wings I've ever seen in my life- I'm not exaggerating when I say I had three wings half the size of what I'd expect from Buffalo Wild Wings. This location is in need of some serious quality control. In the future I'd much rather drive a little further to another location than me disappointed like this again. Unfortunately I forgot to photograph the wings and since they were so tiny and pathetic my family finished them on me before I could finish this review.

It's late at night and we're driving home after doing grocery shopping when the crowds are gone. The hubcap wants to eat fast food out of the blue. Unfortunately, all the fast food places have dismal reviews except for two in this area. Plus, most of them are closed at that time. This is how we found Southern Style Chicken & Waffle. It closes at midnight and has southern food, my husband's favorite type of home style food. He loves mama's casseroles and mac and cheese due to being raised in the Deep South. It, also, had one of his favorite foods: waffle. Plus it is on the way. We head out there and notice an almost empty strip mall. Creepy but the neon sign said it was open. The place was empty & clean yet the opening of the door sent an alert ring for the staff to come out. I was impressed that you could have a waffle as a side with some of the entrees. I was tempted to order fried chicken until I saw the catfish on the menu. I ordered it with a side of mac and cheese to give to the job cap. He ordered the chicken sandwich with mac n cheese. We got it as takeout. The portions they give you are huge when compared to other fast food places. I got three large catfish fillets and a giant side of mac and cheese for $13.49. I wish I had ordered a larger portion after tasting the catfish fillet. You could instantly taste how it was prepared fresh - definitely not frozen. The fish was light ,succulent, and had a melt in your mouth texture. This is not the catfish you ate at a church fish fry. This catfish is exponentially better. The chicken sandwich was two chicken patties in a sandwich similar to chick fil a sandwich. I tasted it and thought it was better. My husband preferred chick fil a though. He really loved my catfish and my mac and cheese. I gave him all the mac and cheese. I split my three catfish fillets into two meals. Service was great. The server told us the catfish was Asian catfish and served it to me the way he preferred it: side of lemon with seasoning sauces on the side . He gave us a heads up that they cook the food fresh and it would take 15 minutes. We didn't mind the wait and waited patiently. We will definitely come back and order catfish, waffles, mac and cheese, and fried chicken when we come here. This is one our favorite late night go see fast food places. I love that it stays open late and has the best catfish I ever had in my life.

I'm originally from Buffalo and one of the greatest things about that city is the food. In fact, we…read moreoften joke that the thing that keeps people in Buffalo is the food and the sports. Buffalo pizza is a unique thing and accompanied by wings, some blue cheese and celery it elevates it to an equivalent of the British Sunday roast. It's something I would have with my family after a Bills or Sabres game on a Sunday and the thing is, there's hundreds of good pizza parlors in Buffalo because they all know how to make good pizza and good wings. Being a Buffalo ex-pat, Buffalo pizza is one of the things I miss most about Buffalo and I would do a lot of things to have some good, authentic, Buffalo style pizza. So when I came to Alexandria on business, on a whim I just did a Yelp search for Buffalo pizza to see if there was anything in the greater area and I found Baddpizza. Talking with the gentleman who cooked my pizza and wings, I learned that the owner came from years of working at a famous parlor in Buffalo called Bocce club. The smell and even the style of this restaurant was very pizza parlor to me. It brought back memories of walking up to a window or to an inside counter, ordering and heading back home to spend time with good food, good company and hopefully a good result for the Bills or Sabres! I was pleased to see Buffalo was represented well, with a big "716" decal, a standing buffalo with the city skyline on it and even, a sharp eye would spot a box of Josh's Jaqs cereal, a long running tradition in Buffalo to have a hometown athlete on a box of cereal. I mean truly, the only thing that would have elevated the space was a TV playing highlights of Rick Jeanneret calls or maybe a box of Flutie Flakes to go alongside of JA17's cereal. The food came out piping hot. There were plenty of peppers to take with you to add if you like that but the pizza came out exactly as I'd remember Buffalo pizza. The cheese is incredible, the pepperoni char absolutely spectacular, the sauce a slightly sweet tomato sauce that just reminded me of home. Seeing a lot of the reviews on here I felt a lot of them were harsh. Certainly, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but for Buffalonians, pizza and wings is a staple and they hit the nail on the head with an authentic experience 388 miles from home in Alexandria. I don't expect everyone to have the same reverence to Buffalo style pizza as I do, or we do, but to say it was flavorless is ridiculous. While I'm sure some of their specialty pizza's could leave more to be desired, if you stick with the classics, especially with charred pepperoni which is my absolute favorite topping, you will not have a bad time there. One tip on Yelp that I didn't listen to, but should have was that the sauce on the wings is not as spicy as you might think. I ordered medium which tends to be my go to and I felt it was more of a mild. If you like it a bit hotter, I'd say get them a stage hotter than you normally would. In fact if you get a double order of wings, you can pick two flavors, so go with your normal and then go at least a stage up. Also, important to note that as far as pizza parlor wings go, when you take them home they will not be as good and crispy. If you're expecting fresh crisp wings and have a drive or bus ride to go eat them, you will have to understand that wings won't keep. There's also not a lot of room to eat. And to be fair, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to eat there, but the gentleman cooking the pizza said it was no problem. But at least at this location, this might be a bring home, picnic or come with one or two because the restaurant doesn't seat many. I will also say that I took public transportation all the way from Old Town Alexandria to the restaurant and it was easy. It took a little more time than if I had a car, but it is doable to come via train and bus. And here's the thing, whether it's Chicago, New York, Detroit or Buffalo, clearly not every style is going to be your favorite. But I think if you want to experience something maybe new to you, or for those Buffalonians calling DC and the suburbs home or people like me on business and just missing a taste of home, you should go to one of Baddpizza's locations and get a taste of home. And to top this off, head next door to Wegmans to complete your Buffalo experience. Grab a couple other Buffalo staples like Weber's Mustard, Salens hot dogs, Bison chip dip (the best French onion dip you can get) and so much more. People will laugh at me for going here instead of heading to the Smithsonian or any one of the famous landmarks or museums DC has to offer. But when you have a chance to taste home and remind yourself of some of the great times you have with great people, or if you're new to Buffalo style pizza and want to create new memories with the people and sports teams you love, then give Badpizza a try. I'm so glad I did because my night was nourished by great food and great memories. Thanks Baddpizza!
