I'm extremely picky with Peruvian Chicken, so I ventured outside that vein for CocoRico as this is not on most Peruvian menus around here, and it seems that I made the right choice. This review has to do with their reduction of portions and still charging the same. I used to get a regular size aguadito soup for around $5.25 , no the size is only 8 ounces for the sane price , as you can see from the picture I provided. Listen, I understand times are tough but this is utterly ridiculous. Also the parking is a nightmare. Service is ok, hit or miss. I can tell their not as busy as they once were. I haven't had Cocorico in a long time and decided to have some today for lunch. The young lady that waited on me was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I got the Arroz Chaufa (mixed w/ chicken, steak and shrimp). All the meat rested on top of the rice. The steak was rubbery, the chicken was dry and they gave me only (count em) 4 shrimp. Rice could have used more flavor. It was 20bucks. So not worth it. Not what I remember at all. Won't be back. Sorry Coco. read more

We ordered number of items for a takeout dinner : Half chicken with 2 sides (fries/yuca), Carne Asada Coleslaw Side Mashed Potatoes Side, Tamal , Pupusas (2 Pc) Chicken & Cheese, Tiramisu , Tres Leches, and flan. Everything was prepared fresh, and TO THE PERFECTION! My mouth is still watering for some more of the chicken with yellow sauce. I am coming back for sure! Got a quick take out order while visiting the area for a couple people. Got one of the family combos that come with a whole chicken and a couple sides. The chicken itself was flavorful and moist, really hit the spot. There were no complaints. Never had what I think is a traditional "green beans with egg", so ordered that as a side. The chicken was tasty but beans very bland and the black beans a little undercooked. They had free self serve water but the drink menu was limited to bottled selections. My first time eating here, ordered rotisserie chicken with fries & mashed potatos. The chicken had little to no seasoning, very bland. I was raised eating Peruvian/Bolivian pollo a la Brasa, so I'm familiar with all the different varieties of seasoning needed for this type of food.. so I was no very impressed with the taste, it was just bland. Mashed potatos were also bland! A little seasoning goes a long way! The place was clean and neat, prices are comparable to other similar places in the area. I am a fan of Super Chicken in the city of falls church IF you like your pollo a la brasa well seasoned and tasty! Give them a try for comparison! Takeout was quick and easy. Love that they offer Hummus, Baba Ghannouj, Tabouleh at this Peruvian restaurant. They have a nice variety on their menu. Their chicken is flavorful and the price is right. No, this is not our ultimate favorite chicken place. That would be in Arlington but Cocorico has a lot to offer. So many different sides, sandwiches, entrees, soups/salads, and desserts. I spend much money in this place quite often or I should say, I used to spend here. After tonight I will be heading elsewhere. I ordered empanadas and a horchata from the lady at the register, whom had a little attitude, and I get my food and ask for some of the yellow and green sauce and they tell me to pay for it. So they raise their prices constantly, give you less food, and can't give you a few sauces? I tipped her like 20 percent in hopes of getting treated well, but no one gives a rat's tail nowadays about tips, servers act like they are doing you a favor by clicking a few buttons on a register and NOT serving you. Tips are no longer earned, they are expected, whether they provide good or bad service. Empanadas were all dry and no ice given in my horchata. Too many other options out here. read more

I love Cocorico! I have stopped in several times to get food to go and whether I order ahead of time or in the restaurant they are always fast. The food is fresh and tasty and I'm a fan of their fried plantains. Although I get the same thing every time (quarter chicken dark, rice, plaintains), I've never been disappointed. There is a small parking lot so it's easy to get a space whether dining in or quickly stopping by. They are also on several delivery apps if interested. read more

This is my 2nd or 3rd time coming here and although the service is nice the food isn't so great. The yellow sauce had a weird mustard after taste and wasn't blended well with the other sauce. The chicken looked like it was out under the light instead of coming straight out of the grill oven. Then the rice was cold. There are a lot of peruvian chicken in Springfield but to me Cocorico is the best even before they moved. Owner of the place is such a sweet lady. I always go for the dark meat combo - and of course my favorite alfajor! This place is bigger than the last one. read more
