We went to chicken pollo for the first time the other day. We went inside to order and there were tons of people inside. There were no signs showing where to order versus pickup food. The store is very small inside so everyone was crammed in. Once we ordered, we stood around waiting for our number to be called. They were calling numbers in Spanish, which was surprising. We had to listen very carefully for Ocho since our number was 158. We noticed people who ordered after us were getting their food before us so we went up to the front to ask about our food. The employee grabbed a bag that had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes. I'm unsure why our number was skipped over, but because of this the food wasn't very fresh. We ordered Pollo Saltado and beef saltado with 2 orders of fried Yuca and an order of fried plantains. Food was ok, they gave lots of rice , lots of fried potatoes in it so if you want a good portion, you would be happy, we are just ok because the taste of the dish was almost good. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I came to eat dinner with my family at 6:10pm. I put my order in at 6:12pm. I ordered one Lomo Saltado and 1/2 a chicken with rice and fries. The lomo saltado came out at 6:19pm. I waited OVER 30 MINUTES for the 1/2 a chicken with rice and fries. The chicken did not come out until I complained 3 times and it finally came out @6:57pm. What to get: Chicken, Fried Yucca. Actually it's far from the best Rotisserie chicken in the most Peruvian-chicken-happy city in North America. The streets are basically lined with options, especially in Annandale and Falls Church and Arlington, the VA burbs close to DC. This is one of many options, but it's still enjoyable, especially the sides. Some of the servers are really friendly, and though it's probably more "Salvadoran Chicken" than Peruvian, it's still tasty, juicy, and worth a stop. It can be a little inconsistent (chicken wise) but the sides are always good, especially the Fried Yucca. I'd sadly choose the chain Sardi's as my fave. Still, Chicken Pollo is one of many good options, and I kick myself that I never tried it in 12 months living just a 2 minute walk from here. read more

So many times we have left here with incorrect orders or food just flat out missing. How does this continuously happen? Don't come to this place for a quick meal. Is not the normal Peruvian chicken you stop by and order and your food it's served right there and then. They bring it to your table but it once I order my food and It took 16 minutes to be served!!!! $15.00 lunch. Not the regular price for a Peruvian chicken ... ...taste of food wasn't bad but I probably got them in their worst.
