Love this place and their chicken. The business is set on the side of a plaza off the main road but is very popular in the community. There are always people traversing the business whether ordering, waiting to pickup, or eating in their sitting area. As soon as you enter the business your senses are popping. You see the chickens rotating in the wood fired ovens and smell the aroma of the grilled chicken. Ordering a whole chicken (comes with two sides) runs around $25 which is more than you would pay in a grocery store but the taste is so delicous. When we have visitors, we order their chicken which always proves to be a highlight. My wife is a rice lover so I get the rice as a side each time and beans on occasion. Always a hit. Given our fitness training and need for white meat or chicken breast, we often order the whole white chicken with two sides. Like I said, love this place and will return. read more

This is the OG Peruvian chicken spot in Annandale, definitely one of the older chicken pollo restaurants. I came here long ago, from maybe 15-20 years or so ago. However, I came here twice in the past 8 months so I can leave a fair review. This place used to be the best, but unfortunately the quality has diminished. Their yucca used to be really good too, and wasn't as starchy as the other chicken pollo spots, but when I had it today, it was the same as all the other spots. Thick and starchy, when they used to be definitely more smooth and you can bite through it. Not sure if it's how they prepare it, the type of yucca they use, or what, but it's not the same. The chicken quality also slightly went down from when I last remembered, which is quite unfortunate. I came for late lunch so the lunch crowd was still there, but sad to say, I probably won't be coming back and trying a new spot instead. Thanks for the good memories in the early 2000's. read more

One of the original pollo spots in Annandale. Chicken is good, and so is the yuca. Chicken is tender and juicy, flavorful. One knock against it is the ordering system is inefficient and disorganized. It is also longer compared to other pollo places. They do however have seating inside with unlimited sauce. read more

We went to chicken pollo for the first time the other day. We went inside to order and there were tons of people inside. There were no signs showing where to order versus pickup food. The store is very small inside so everyone was crammed in. Once we ordered, we stood around waiting for our number to be called. They were calling numbers in Spanish, which was surprising. We had to listen very carefully for Ocho since our number was 158. We noticed people who ordered after us were getting their food before us so we went up to the front to ask about our food. The employee grabbed a bag that had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes. I'm unsure why our number was skipped over, but because of this the food wasn't very fresh. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I came to eat dinner with my family at 6:10pm. I put my order in at 6:12pm. I ordered one Lomo Saltado and 1/2 a chicken with rice and fries. The lomo saltado came out at 6:19pm. I waited OVER 30 MINUTES for the 1/2 a chicken with rice and fries. The chicken did not come out until I complained 3 times and it finally came out @6:57pm. The name actually means "Chicken Chicken" if you're bilingual, which I think is brilliant. If you see this place on the side of the road, Pollover and stop. You need to try some. What to get: Chicken, Fried Yucca. Actually it's far from the best Rotisserie chicken in the most Peruvian-chicken-happy city in North America. The streets are basically lined with options, especially in Annandale and Falls Church and Arlington, the VA burbs close to DC. This is one of many options, but it's still enjoyable, especially the sides. Some of the servers are really friendly, and though it's probably more "Salvadoran Chicken" than Peruvian, it's still tasty, juicy, and worth a stop. It can be a little inconsistent (chicken wise) but the sides are always good, especially the Fried Yucca. I'd sadly choose the chain Sardi's as my fave. Still, Chicken Pollo is one of many good options, and I kick myself that I never tried it in 12 months living just a 2 minute walk from here. read more

This is my go-to place for Peruvian rotisserie chicken or any rotisserie chicken really. I can't speak to their service, because I only do to-go orders here, but the flavor of the food is amazing. I love ordering a whole chicken, yucca, plantains, rice, and beans. The food is among the best rotisserie options in all of NoVA (northern Virginia). Plantains so sweet and delicious. Horchata is the best I've had in NOVA. The white sauce and green sauce is a bit small so make sure you order extra -- especially on any chicken size larger than 1/4!
