Came here on a whim as it's right next to H-mart in the Annandale shopping center (was dying of hunger) Latin fusion restaurant with a hodgepodge of traditional Latin American dishes, but I ordered the Peruvian chicken with a seperate Order of pupusas. The pupusas were actually great, the portions are large and not too oily so was pleasantly surprised here. I wouldn't order the chicken again, unfortunately this came out dry but did have a hint of lime flavor.

Another case of disappointment. I was really in the mood for some authentic tamales. I was so excited I bought lunch for a group of us with the understanding being TAMALES! So we go the didn't have carry out menu so we couldn't check it out before we went. They have a food bar were you can purchase by the weight or you can order from the menu. They also have a small bakery section as well. We ordered our food - waited over 15 minutes.....no problem this is going to be fresh - right! I think not. We get to the office separate our order. Everything looked so good and the portions were huge! So far so good. I am prepared and offered to share because I wasn't expecting the mutated tamales especially since they were only $2.50 so I ordered 2 and a chicken burrito. Let's start with the burrito.....you know that taste chicken has when it gets old and kind of tuff - yea that .....and flavor - what flavor. I was scrapping the sour cream to try to add some taste. The little yellow sauce they give you tasted like honey mustard and I used all of that as well as the green spicy sauce which was actually good. My tamale :-( was mush mush! Disappointed. There are a lot of Latin restaurants in the area and my tamale quest will continue! My pictures actually look good but the food not so much. Out of 5 of us 3 didn't care for their meal...one i never heard from and one said Thanks for lunch LOL.

The pupusas were great. Fair price and the wait time wasn't long. They open at 5am which is great.

The meat options were also greatly appreciated by my friends who joined me at the restaurant. Ask for the in-house spicy salsa if you like a kick of spice. The prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. The service is friendly, and the food arrived in a decent amount of time even when the restaurant was busy. Definitely recommend visiting this restaurant when you're in the area.

I wasn't feeling up to the big chains and places I wanted to try seemed to close early. Luckily this place was open and I had been wanting to try it for a while. Definitely it let a hidden gem! There are some parking spots right in front, although not many. There is a decent amount of seating, but it would be tight if you had a large party. My partner did note that the bathrooms weren't that great. You immediately get served complementary chips and salsa. They were pretty basic, but not bad. We ordered the following: + Papusas (Pork and Cheese & Loroco and Cheese) - Decent, although I prefer the Loroco (an edible flower bud). + Pollo à la Primavera (chicken dish) - Yummy, especially the sauce which mixes well with their hot/spicy sauce too! I could do without the salad dressing. + Camarones con Calabeza (shrimp dish) - Same as above! Note they leave the tails on. + Natural Juices (Mango and Maranon) - So refreshing! I loved the Maranon (cashew apple) was a wonderful burst of tropical sweetness with a subtle nutty taste. I appreciate that for the pupusas they had the foresight to provide my partner and I two plates so we could sphere the papusas. The portion sizes of the entrees were great for the price. It did take a while for the staff to swing by so that we could get boxes and the check. Note that credit cards and mobile pay are accepted. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to try more items on their menu.

He was great, and even gave my bf recommendations on what to get since it was his first time trying pupusas. We ordered two pupusas: Revuelta and Loroco (recommended by server) and both were very delicious! The size is fairly large compared to other places I've been. We liked the flavorful revuelta and crispiness of the loroco. The cabbage on side was great too and red sauce. We also got a Sopa de res to share. It was a big bowl, with a good amount of beef and veggies. This soup was definitely more than enough for 2 people (we took some leftovers for next day)! The taco carne was delicious, and the homemade sauces complimented the flavors well. Lastly, I always get a tamal de pollo and it was good as well. Overall, excellent spot for affordable food, quick service, and very kind and friendly staff. I appreciated that for dinner it was not too loud, and we could enjoy a delicious Salvadorean meal, friendly service, with generous portions for a very reasonable price. Check them out!!

What took me aback was that it said there was parmesan cheese and it definitely was NOT. Apparently this is a traditional Guatemalen dish, like a snack. I was SOO surprised that so much came on the plate. I thought it was an appetizer, so that was surprising. The red sauce was SUPER good also. I tried it on one tostada and then another. It came out warm and the veggies cool and fresh. Like coleslaw without the mayo. Definitely would want to come back and try another dish. I was in a rush, so I ordered the first thing that popped up. The beans were a little on the salty side, but not a problem if spread on the tortilla. Also tried a pastry from their bakery counter. Some kind of layered, broken phyllo crumbs with white butter cream. It was tasty and went well with coffee. You'll need to eat with a spoon or fork and crumbs land EVERYWHERE! My wife somehow managed without dropping any flakes. We also had to try their pupusas and got the pork and cheese. One of the best pupusas we've had in the area! The masa was patted down very thin and the filling was thick and packed with pork and melted cheese. VERY HOT! Good thing we did an hour workout! My wife told me when she lived in the area, she would never go in there alone as their dine-in clientele was all male latino day workers. Aside from the waitresses, she was the only woman there. They had steady take-out business and families would just pick up and go. It's a pretty small place, so not really good to have small children there. The hipsters have not yet found the place, so they don't spend a whole lot on decor. Overall a nice hole-in-the wall place with good prices. NOTE: All the times I have come here, the service is REALLY SLOW. Expect to wait maybe 10-15 minutes to get the check on busy days. Plan your schedule accordingly.
