We came here with good expectations hoping we would enjoy some authentic Peruvian food but unfortunately, that was not the case. I really think they need to cover their menus in plastic covers as they were very dirty. The place inside looked nice and clean but it was very cold. The waitress was semi friendly but she seemed more worried about the other table complaining about their food. I looked at the menu and they seemed to have more seafood than your regular dishes. No seco, no arroz con pollo, no aji de gallina. I decided to have anticuchos and papa a la huancaina. I didn't find the papa a la huancaina option in the menu BUT I did see papas dos colores. We got the food pretty fast but I questioned what I got. My plate didn't look like the one in the menu, instead it was on top of what I thought was papa a la huancaina. The steaks themselves were not marinated enough and no corn in sight. The papa a la huancaina looked good but the ocopa was bitter and tasted like the queso fresco you are suppose to make it with was a little out of date. I did not finish it. I had chicha to drink and it wasn't bad but a cup of water would've been nice. The waitress never came to check on us but as I said earlier, I think she was worried about another table whose dishes were not what they wanted. There is an 18% gratuity included which I think needs to be changed. They also should change the pictures in the menu to match what they serve. If you don't mind those things in a restaurant, than by all means visit. I'll politely decline...

    Quarter of chicken

a minute ago I bought a quarter chicken to go on 11/30/19 at 11:44 AM. I took a photo of the piece chichen. How small, it look more like a Cornish leg, instead of a chichen so tinny. I glad I did not buy a whole chicken because size probably will be off a chick. Next time someone buy to go, check before you leave to make sure you got a chicken not a tinny Cornish leg!!

Charged $2 for water and added 18% tips to the bill without telling me. Are you very happy now that u robbed 36% tips from me?

Dishonest! Charged $2 per person for water without telling you. Added 18% tips on the bill without telling you. No one else does this within 500 mile radius. How much more you guys didn't tell us that we haven't already found out? Ps- so you got me tipping you 36% in total. Are u as happy as winning a lottery? Lol Haven't logged on to this complain account for a while. Next! Moving on! A piece of advice: focus on long term relationship with your customers. Try to turn them into a long term clients, rather than just a one timer. The goal is to let them come back to you from day 1 (I.e. recurring revenue), instead of earning a short term unsustainable "gain" of a few bucks that keep u awake in the middle of the night. There is no short cut to success, at least not in the DMV food world. From a food blogger with 5k followers

Tallarin saltado with a monstrous portion of lomo saltado in the background. Photo doesn't do the portion of lomo justice.

This place is in dire need of more reviews. At the time of my writing this I'm guessing they've been around maybe at most two months. I'm going to go ahead and say they're probably going to last a good while here once they pick up steam. The food was very, very good. I've had a ton of Peruvian food in the northern VA area and I can safely say it was in the top Peruvian food I've had. I had the tallarin saltado and my girlfriend had the lomo saltado. Peruvian food tends to run expensive with small portions in my experience. Not this place. I'm never one to leave food on my plate, but I just could not finish everything. Prices were almost a steal for the amount of food we got. We also shared the salchipapas which had some of the best huancaina sauce I've had as well. I do wish it could have come with more sauce on it from the get go but they we're more than happy to bring us more. On the way out I also got a huge plate of arroz chaufa to go for lunch the next day. Service was pretty good. I can see the food taking a little longer when it's packed but the quality of the food is worth it. They had live music which could make or break your night depending on your mood but I didn't mind it. The only thing that was weird servicewise was the fact that tip is already included so beware if you don't feel like double tipping. Tl;dr If you like high quality Peruvian food and lots of it for cheap, go here.

The food was fantastic! I'll be returning again soon. I had the tallarines a la huancaina con lomo saltado.

New hole in the wall location. Price friendly food and the portions are more than what you pay for. My wife orders a tallerin saltado and I ordered an arroz chaufa de carne which were both amazing. I knocked off one star as their alcoholic drinks are very pricey. We also ordered Papa La Huancaina for an appetizer and it was worth it. The sauce had a nice kick as it should which was amazing. The food overall was amazing. A must for anyone Peruvian food lovers.

This is one of my new favorite Peruvian restaurants, I been already 3 times here in less then a week ... why? Cause the food is delicious and the size is very generous for the prices! I'm trying to taste every single dish ... so far I have Ceviche 100% recommended, Tiradito is really good too, Anticucho (good flavor, good taste) is coming with a portion of Papa a la huancaina, arroz con mariscos and jalea! I'm so glad that I find this place cause I'm definitely need to go back again soon!!!

While the place could use bit of a sprucing up, the service was friendly and excellent, and the food was great.

The door man was searching people before allowing entry. He explained that he had knives being pulled on him frequently.

He always recommended Kilroys to us as he was a regular at this restaurant. So, it became our annual tradition to have dinner at Kilroys. When you walk into Kilroys, you'll appreciate the amount of details thag went into the interior design of the restaurant. It should be noted that Kilroy's honors its veterans. My uncle was a proud veteran, so he always felt welcomed here. There is a lot of military memorabilia throughout Kilroy's. The walls are filled with so many photos that walk you back through historic events. There's so much love for the USA in here! The menu consists of a lot of traditional American food. Most of the items are heavy, so expect to leave with a full belly. They have your typical meat, fish, poultry, and pasta dishes. However, they also offer flatbread pizzas! There really is something for everyone. I typically order catfish or trout. Both are delicious, but I really like their catfish. I love Cajun spices, so it's always nice to enjoy something that hits close to home. I also appreciate that their servings are large, because it's well worth the money that you spend here. I would have never heard of Kilroy's if it wasn't for my uncle. Kilroy's definitely lived up to the hype. I enjoy coming here because it's like a hidden gem. It's situated in a small shopping center and you'd probably walk past it as it doesn't really stand out. Kilroy's is definitely a great place to enjoy a hearty meal, hang out with friends, or to grab a drink before heading back home.

I think it's safe to say we are fans. This place is old school, not just due to the decor but also due to certain staff (although they have recently been joined by some newer folks), attendees, and the menu. We stick with burgers, loaded tots, wings, cider, and a dessert. I visit here with hubs as well as a walking buddy. It's decor is a little conflicted in that is WWI & II focused inside and Jimmy Buffet /beachy w parrots outside. During the pandemic I enjoyed sitting outside eating the tots & sipping cider with my walking buddy after a walk around the lake, unfortunately now the outside seems to have become a smoking area removing it as a good place to eat for those of us who do not smoke. I hope it will regain its nice outdoor dining space in the new year's spring and summer but guess the bar crowd may frequent the outdoor space for smokes which is unfortunate. The bar is open late with sports streaming constantly and been a good place to catch games so I get why they may find it beneficial to keep that crowd returning. Despite the old school vibe and dark decor Kilroy's is clean & the service is friendly although they do over use those food heat lamps. We come here regularly for the Monday burger deal, I would guess we currently average about once a month.
