We come to Virginia once a year as my family resides in the area. Every time that we would visit Springield, we would take our uncle out to eat. He always recommended Kilroys to us as he was a regular at this restaurant. So, it became our annual tradition to have dinner at Kilroys. When you walk into Kilroys, you'll appreciate the amount of details thag went into the interior design of the restaurant. It should be noted that Kilroy's honors its veterans. My uncle was a proud veteran, so he always felt welcomed here. There is a lot of military memorabilia throughout Kilroy's. The walls are filled with so many photos that walk you back through historic events. There's so much love for the USA in here! The menu consists of a lot of traditional American food. Most of the items are heavy, so expect to leave with a full belly. They have your typical meat, fish, poultry, and pasta dishes. However, they also offer flatbread pizzas! There really is something for everyone. I typically order catfish or trout. Both are delicious, but I really like their catfish. I love Cajun spices, so it's always nice to enjoy something that hits close to home. I also appreciate that their servings are large, because it's well worth the money that you spend here. I would have never heard of Kilroy's if it wasn't for my uncle. Kilroy's definitely lived up to the hype. I enjoy coming here because it's like a hidden gem. It's situated in a small shopping center and you'd probably walk past it as it doesn't really stand out. Realized my previous review was 10 years old while sitting @ Kilroy's enjoying a cider and waiting for the loaded tots and burgers and decided an update was in order. I think it's safe to say we are fans. This place is old school, not just due to the decor but also due to certain staff (although they have recently been joined by some newer folks), attendees, and the menu. We stick with burgers, loaded tots, wings, cider, and a dessert. I visit here with hubs as well as a walking buddy. It's decor is a little conflicted in that is WWI & II focused inside and Jimmy Buffet /beachy w parrots outside. During the pandemic I enjoyed sitting outside eating the tots & sipping cider with my walking buddy after a walk around the lake, unfortunately now the outside seems to have become a smoking area removing it as a good place to eat for those of us who do not smoke. I hope it will regain its nice outdoor dining space in the new year's spring and summer but guess the bar crowd may frequent the outdoor space for smokes which is unfortunate. The bar is open late with sports streaming constantly and been a good place to catch games so I get why they may find it beneficial to keep that crowd returning. Despite the old school vibe and dark decor Kilroy's is clean & the service is friendly although they do over use those food heat lamps. We come here regularly for the Monday burger deal, I would guess we currently average about once a month. read more

I used to love coming here, but with the new management this year, the prices skyrocketed and it's unfortunately no longer worth it.

The food was outstanding, their biscuits and butter are legendary! Paula was our waitress and she's amazing! She's part of why Kilroy's is still going strong! In town to visit my uncle so we let him pick where he'd like to dine. He especially loves this place for its prime rib, but we were there for lunch so we went for "slightly" lighter entree choices. I opted for a specialty burger with onion rings (an up charge but worth it). The rest of my party opted for similar choices. All were solid but nothing special per se. They did forget the bacon my uncle added to his cheese burger but they quickly rectified this. Despite that, this fit the bill for what we were looking for in that we wanted casual with decent food that didn't break the bank with good company. Additionally, this place had a vintage military vibe that I really like. This bar grill restaurant is clearly a local staple. Everyone seemed to know everyone. It was super fishy tasting and just lathered with heavy honey Dijon sauce on top (to cover up the fishy taste maybe?). Second time we got a fish dish from here and have been disappointed both times. The decor inside has not changed in forever (same since I was a child and in 38) Pros: Server Paula-has also been here forever and is a superb server! Plus good ranch and a good amount of croutons. Baked Potato French Fries Just okay: French Onion soup: would not order again. The broth was not very rich. Just would have liked to know about the St Patty's day special-the waiter didn't say anything and I didn't ask so got their famous prime rib.$30 I ordered the 10oz, and devoured it-can out well vs medium well but it was so tender it didn't matter. I got the Cajun seasoning and baked potato. Baked potato was a little too over cooked and not steamy hot. I ordered the corned beef special to go-came w/ green beans, potatoes, and cabbage.$16.99 Ate the corned beef the day after and it was delicious and the homemade horseradish is to die for. read more

It's a sign of the times, but my heart is broken. I've been a long-standing customer at Kilroy's. They truly have the best prime rib in Northern Virginia and our neighboring states. But, last night when I visited for an impromptu meal, I discovered that they are under new management ---- and that things have changed. The biggest change is the menu and the prices. Gone are some beloved dinner options. And, Kilroy's is now so expensive that I'll have to plan carefully before visiting again. A large order of prime rib with two sides ended up costing almost $65. The same meal used to be available for half that amount. The price for the prime rib itself has gone up and the portions are smaller. But now the bill in inflated by additional taxes and surcharges. The service is good, but not good enough for the expected tips. The tipping menu starts at 18% and by the time you finished adding it all up --- you've spent much more than the meal was worth. So if you want a really delicious prime rib and prices no obstacle, i the him and him and him will him good enjoy a dinner at Kilroy's. But if you're like most customers in Northern Virginia this will no longer be a casual option. This hidden gem is tucked away in a strip mall and might look like an ordinary pub from the outside, but step inside and you will discover something special. The interior is filled with framed World War Two posters and vintage style booth seating that gives the place a warm, nostalgic charm. It is a cozy and inviting spot that feels both unique and full of character. There is even a surprising bonus in the form of an outdoor seating area tucked away in the back. As for the food and drinks, you cannot go wrong with Guinness and a simple pub foods. Overall, it is a great place to relax and catch up with friends. Generally go here with groups, and it is a nice atmosphere. Could they perhaps update their menu? Yes please. However for the reasonable prices, I like their entrees. You usually get a decent amount, and the taste is quite good. Their chicken dishes are my favorite. This is a cozy place. It's been around a long time. By the amount of people whom go here, it should stay as well. Parking is a cinch. Getting in and out of Ravensworth Shopping Center, can be rather challenging. 2026 brought lots of changes to Kilroy's and all of changes are for the worse. New menu has fewer choices and everything is more expensive. Prime Rib is Kilroy's long time speciality but now only available Wednesday thru Sunday, but not at lunch. At least it hasn't been whenever we've asked. The new recipe for French onion soup is bland and flavorless. Simple requests, e.g., asking for an order of potstickers split 50/50 between fried and steamed, are no longer accommodated. Kilroy's no longer participates in T‑Mobile Dining Rewards. Bottom line: a local neighborhood restaurant that we've frequented for so many years is doing all it can to drive away its loyal long time customers. read more

I had an experience at Kilroy's that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I can't comment on the food because it never came. After waiting more than 30 minutes I went to ask the person at the check in desk. I had been coming to Kilroy's often in high school and sitting in the dining room, which feels like it might be the only way to come in moving forward. I know it had been years since I last visited, but sitting in the bar was a wildly uncomfortable experience. Recently came for lunch mid-week with my wife, and the bar was populated by people who had clearly been drinking since the place opened. They were creepy, leering at my wife, loud, and offensive. It's a shame, because there are plenty of bars in the NOVA area that you can frequent that don't feel like you're surrounded by predatory hyenas. read more

I went there for a group event and placed my order. After seeing others getting their meals, I kept asking the servers where mine was and was told, "Don't worry, it's coming." It wasn't. I tracked down the waitress, and she said she'd check on it. They gave my order to someone else! She said mine would be ready in ten minutes. It wasn't. I found the manager and asked for priority, and he said he could only give me an apology. It was well over an hour before my food finally came. Great service! Like the Americana - the posters on the wall, it's truly a museum and fun just to walk around and check it out. Usually easy to get a table during the week so it's a good place to go to. Ordered the Chinese chicken salad and it was very good. Large portion, so if you're hungry you won't be disappointed. I've heard about this place forever, but I've never had the time to check it out. The other day on a whim, I popped in for a beer and discovered that they had some killer prime rib ready to go. My prime rib was cooked to perfect, a medium-rare feast thar turned my little happy hour a gourmet score. Besides the prime rib, Kilroys served up a side of creamy mash potatoes that was simply out of this world. My bartender Nicole was fantastic, serving up frosty brews with a smile. She made my first Kilroys' outing a brilliant experience. All in all, this bar has a nice local feel that very Cheers in nature. read more

This place is amazing. So much memorabilia. Been here since 1981! Very nicely done. That alone serves 4 stars. The server was nice and friendly and the restaurant is spacious. The bar area is huge! I go here for the weekly karaoke nights (Wed nights 9:30pm) It's a fun atmosphere and can get crowded on some days and especially around holidays. The staff is attentive. Good drink selection. Food is average bar food. Update: After some staff changes, I am definitely liking this place more! Finally, more attentive staff! Food has gotten better and is more consistent. Kilroy's is a great place to go on a Thursday night after you had a long day at work. The place isn't anything super fancy but it's kinda cozy. I love the philly cheesesteak here. Service was good but the food was beyond bad. "French Onion Soup" was three tablespoons of soup with a few pieces of onion covered with a large slab of some kind of processed cheese. I came here on a weekday for happy hour. We got lobster, shrimp, oysters, crab legs, some fries as well as some drinks. Overall I think the food isn't too bad for the price. I had to return one lobster since it didn't come out right, however they were great about getting me another one which is the right way to treat a customer. We sat out on the deck and I thought the ambience was nice. My only gripe about this place is that the service was kind of slow, but that's not the servers fault as much as it was the restaurant being understaffed. read more
