The GAR are consistent. They know my love for "Ozzie rolls" and I can find them at almost every GAR. Silverado was the choice for my special friend. So I got a group together for a fun lunch. It's been almost a decade since I've been to this GAR location. It did not disappoint. Our server was awesome! She was attentive and listen to our many requests. The staff worked as a team. She brought our birthday guy a birthday treat that was very generous. The food was so delicious, as expected. I had the lunch chicken fajitas as these are not available at most GAR. It was all protein and onions. No bell peppers and I was so glad. The flour tortillas are so fresh. My one gripe is they charged an extra .50 for an extra cup of pico de gallo. Overall it was a very nice dining experience. For those in that area, I'd definitely recommend Silverado. read more

Ahhhh....another Great America restaurant but with a Mexican/Southwestern themed menu. The hostess said they are known for their fajitas. Like all Great American restaurants, the service is really good and consistent. We were greeted by our server. We already knew we wanted to try the fajitas. And of course the house chopped salad and community bread. We got our salad in 2 minutes, before our water & bread. LOL. The salad was served very cold and it was refreshingly good. Consistently good. Then our bread came out (Ozzy rolls, slices of sourdough & raisin bread) with their sweet butter. Again, consistently good. Now when we got the faijitas, this is where disappointment comes in. The guac and pico weren't as flavorful as other Tex/Mex/SW restaurants. And the rice was basmati with fennel? The beans needed more smokey pork flavor and was a little too watery. We love onions but they were cut way too thick/fat and over cooked. The chicken was juicy but didn't have the signature chargrilled flavor. I did like they left the chicken skin on and I also liked the chargrilled jalapeno pepper but it was missing red/green bell peppers. The good: service, salad, bread. Silverado is a great local spot to go to, part of the GAR chain. The food is top notch, consistent, the service is always amazing, and the atmosphere is always fun. Whether going for family dinners, date nights, or meeting friends for drinks, Silverado is a can't miss option. This is in our rotation of local eateries. The food at Silverado is sooo good. We had the ribs, 6oz filet, and 3 baskets of the Ozzie rolls. Por tip: do NOT fill up on the rolls, they are delicious but try a salad if you're super starving. The server, Dawud was very attentive and even brought me a new Sprite when the first was as flat as a box. The ribs were slow cooked and the portion is HUGE! Can't wait to have my leftovers for late night munchies. For dessert we had apple pie and coffee cream brûlée. The Brûlée was TO DIE FOR! I just had an exceptional special at Silverado's - a beautifully prepared halibut with herbs and well prepared veggies. One of these best fish dishes I've ever had in my life. The chef really knows how to order fine quality fish and develop a memorable dish. This was our first time here and have heard great things from our neighbors. We were excited to partake in the festivities of Cinco de Mayo and to chow down some Tex-Mex. Part of the Great American Restaurants chain, this place is located conveniently in the Annandale Shopping Center. Parking is plentiful as it is shared with the surrounding businesses. Upon entry, you are greeted by a freindly staff member and the ambiance is associated with Tex-Mex cuisine. We made a reservation for our party, but there were plenty of empty seats. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. The pricing was a little on the higher side ranging from $30+ per dish. I had the Drunken Ribeye and it was tender, but more on the fatty end. Had dinner with 4 friends and 1 toddler and had as usual an excellent meal. The space has a southwestern feel and there is a mixture of tables and booths as well as a large bar area. I 'm kind of a semi- regular customer, usually go there once or twice a month, but like several other GAR restaurants, the music is TOO LOUD. 5/2/24 lunch: ive been sooo curious about this silverado bec it's part of the great american resto family. coastal flats has my favorite salad and i looove looove going to both tysons and fairfax locations. i always leave happy. i enjoy mike's american grill too. ive been to patsy's, carlyle, randy's, best buns, ozzie's, jackson's. all the things! it's ok........aaay here at silverado. yes, i did have my standards set very high as a coastal flats fanatic but even as a stand alone resto, this place wasnt very good. we went during a thursday lunch and i was so surprised. the hostess asked if we had a reservation- for a thursday- at lunch. it's actually VERY BUSY here!!! we did get a table. they charge for ozzie rolls here but give free chips and salsa. that really confused me. just give me a 1 free yuuummy ozzie roll!??!!! my mom's go to sandwich wherever we go, is always a crabcake so she got one here. it was skinny and so small and tiny. it was sad looking at it!!! i got sad. she said the sauce they put on overwhelmed the sandwich and she couldn't taste "crab". i got the lunch portion of chicken fajitas. i enjoyed the razzle dazzle of the steam but who doesnt. i think i remember their menu saying they have "WORLD famous fajitas". absolutely not. no they dont. they cant. it was one of the most boring fajita meals ive ever had. the chicken didnt have flavor and my cheese didnt melt. MY CHEESE DIDNT MELT! the beans looked canned. i do not rec the fajitas at all and they need to go back to fajita school if they want to make the claim they have world famous fajitas. my dad wasnt feeling well so he only got a dessert. no comments on the dessert. there was an off-putting exchange where i could tell our waiter didnt like my dad. the waiter had a memorized script for the specials and my dad pointed at his water, during the waiter's super long soliloquy, hinting for a straw for his water. that's all it took and he didnt like my dad, baha. during ordering, he asked if we were ready to order and turned his whole body to me, "we'll start with you." okay body language. im not writing this place off, but if i go back... it'll be for a simple salad. and itll prob be a year from now! positives: i liked the salsa and the hostess was cool. read more

We went here tonight for my parents wedding anniversary It was a great experience. Our server was very pleasant very knowledgeable and extremely helpful always smiling. The staff was great. The manager was particularly nice. He was so kind to provide an anniversary moose for my parents who really appreciated it. The food is excellent as well. We had salads and my mom had a filet mignon and crabcake combination, which was delicious. I highly recommend this place. Silverado is a popular adult/family restaurant in the Annandale area. As we residents know, there aren't many restaurants here that offer such a wide variety of menu options. We're happy that Silverado does. We had dinner there and as usual the dining area was quite full. However, there were many servers available who were friendly and attentive. While reviewing Yelp we read that tipping is included in the bill. Could we have missed that on the menu? In other restaurants tips are usually included only for large groups. There were just 2 of us. Our server didn't mention anything about included tips. Hmm...? Imagine that the tips that are included with the meal are calculated @15%. Servers work very hard and depend on generous tips to earn a decent living. The food: The entrees were good. A typical chopped salad has the lettuce chopped in addition to the other ingredients. It wasn't in their salad. The failure to be informed of the tip policy & the lettuce in the salad were the 2 things that disappointed us. read more

My bartender was 'Sarah', Immediately i was greeted with a smile and recommendations as to what to order to eat & drink which i very much appreciated. The Restaurant is small, it does give me more of a family atmosphere which i like. The burger i got was cooked exactly to my liking and the fries were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were probably my favorite. The chives add such a nice touch. My wife and I were looking for breakfast/brunch after doing some morning volunteer work. I did a search on Yelp for Breakfast/Brunch places near our home and this restaurant had good reviews. I flipped through the pictures of menus and saw one with breakfast items, so figured win win. It turns out they don't offer breakfast/brunch, the Yelp picture was old, and Yelp picked up an old review with "breakfast" mentioned which caused it to trigger in the filter search. Yelp steered me wrong today. The parking lot was empty as we arrived just after opening, so no issues. We may have even been their first customers for the day. We were wowed by the large poinsettia plants everywhere that lit up the restaurant in red for the holidays. The restaurant appeared clean, orderly, vibrant, and uniquely decorated...started off well. We sat down and mentioned breakfast after receiving coffee and the server said they don't serve breakfast. We debated leaving for another restaurant but decided to go with the good vibes and have lunch with our $4 cup of coffee. Yeah! A little pricey on the coffee. My wife ordered the $1 bread basket as an appetizer given reviews and we were quite pleased with the variety of freshly baked breads. The menu I believe noted honey butter, and it tasted a little tinted, but we were expecting something with more flavor. Well worth the $1 investment, although I wondered why $1 and if inflation has now caused a charge for complimentary bread. The back of the menu has a blurb on how they make the tortillas fresh from dough and have a machine to press them. I love a fresh homemade tortilla but wasn't wowed by those that came with the jumbo steak fajitas ($52) we ordered. I've had homemade tortillas in the past and there's nothing like it. The fajitas were really good and came with an assortment of freshly made guacamole, cheese, pico, lettuce, rice, pinto beans, and sour cream. My only issue was that the meat should've been cut smaller. Every time I took that first bite, the meat came with it and I was left a tortilla filled with accessories. I did eventually cut the meat with my butter knife which as you might imagine was a challenge. The tortillas also seemed small for the abundance of accessories we could add. A little pricey overall for our lunch meal of 2 coffees, bread, and fajitas at nearly $65. We enjoyed our visit but given the cost might seek other options in the future. read more

This place is really good. I have to hand it to Silverado. Prime Rib cooked to medium rare delicious. What a joy this is. Okay the ozzy rolls are, as are the fajitas. I have been coming here for many, many years and when I come back in the area to visit, this is a spot I have to go to. We made a reservation online and it was easy to update our reservation when we needed to increase the number attending. We had 5 adults and one toddler for dinner on New Year's Day. They had put us at a circle table that fits 5 adults and then squeezed in the high chair. Truthfully, I wish they had more rectangle table options that are not booths because the table got crowded fast when the different drinks and food items were added. It was not very crowded when we came for our 5:30pm reservation, but I have seen it super packed in the past so I recommend a reservation. The overall feel of the restaurant is welcoming. We always order a side of Ozzie rolls for our appetizer and the Tex-mex rolls which we enjoyed. We got too excited when the main course arrived so we did not get any photos. My go-to when I order is the jumbo steak fajitas and subbed out the side of beans with extra rice. When we got our meal, the amount of steak and onions we got did not feel like a jumbo portion. However, it was all very tasty and the quality stays consistent. Our guests also got soup and they enjoyed both of them. I love that they have so many substitutes for the sides and I got grilled mushrooms which were so good. The plate to make the fajitas was too small so food kept falling on the table. I had to ask repeatably for drink refills. The fried dough, cold. The artichoke dip tasted off and chips sort of stale.
