There fries are very thin, but not too crispy. They have very good rolls, but they charge for rolls. Silverado is the pinnacle of Americanized texmex. The best way I can describe their food is "clean." Dishes taste as you would expect, and they're all very good and fairly priced. I've had just about the entire menu, and some of my personal favorites include the chicken quesadilla and mushroom or chicken fajitas. The quesadilla comes with enough food and toppings to feed me for two meals, and the fajitas are almost always perfect. I will admit that there are off days- sometimes my mushrooms are not very seasoned, or the rice is too dry, but most of the time it's great. The staff is super friendly and service is quick, one of their managers recognized me after my third visit and brought me a drink before I was even seated. There are so many times where I passed this place and wonder if it was good. I knew before hand it was part of the Great American Restaurant family and had great meals at other GAR locations. I had a chance to go when I took my parents and in-laws out for dinner. We went on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was busy. We were able to get seated pretty quickly. We started the meal with the Ozzie rolls (a must at any GAR) and fried calamari. Both were on point! For entrees, we got the Monterey Salad w/ spiced pecans + with salmon, short smoked grilled salmon salad, a couple orders of the Hickory grilled chipotle pork chops and Fajita (jumbo) combo, and a bottle of wine. Everything was delicious and satisfying. I usually never order pork chops but OMG it was one of the best pork chop dishes I every had. The meat was succulent and juicy. Definitely do not sleep on that dish. The only other thing was the jumbo fajita. While it was good, the portion size seemed okay. Everything was good, but for the price, I felt it was not that worth it. Overall, it was a great experience. The service was on point, the food was good. Really great. We stopped in for dinner on a weeknight and the bar was HOPPING. It was surprisingly busy - and the drinks we ordered were great, so even if you don't want food, swing down for their mixology. We started with cocktails - the mango martinis were great, and among three of us decided to split the egg rolls, quesadilla, and spinach and artichoke dip as appetizers, and the chicken fajitas for two for a main. The egg rolls were fantastic, creative, and had a great avocado dip. The quesadillas were okay - I wouldn't order them again, since they were messy without any discernible chicken in them - and two of the three of us loved the artichoke dip. The fajitas came out along with the appetizers -- they do warn you they might come out mis-timed with other mains, but I didn't expect them quite so early -- and were also great, well flavored and with super soft tortillas. If I could leave 3.5 stars that is my true rating. We came in last night and was told the wait for 5 at 6pm was 5-10 minutes. After about 15 minutes a family who had come in after us was given our table. They were a family of five and also, like us had no reservation. I approached the wait staff to which I was asked, did you have a reservation which I didn't and then they had no answer. I informed them that we were here before the other table yet they were seated before us. They had no answer for me. I was informed that one table paid and they were waiting for them to leave. About 20 minutes later we were seated. The rest of the evening was fine. Ozzie Rolls were great! I don't feel that the jumbo order of fajita's provided enough meat for two people, however the do provide more than enough veggies and sides. I feel like this should be addressed as well. This is an interesting Mexican-American type restaurant. I was overall impressed. I went on a Friday night, so I was glad to have made a reservation ahead (they also are doing curbside pickup). I got the grilled chicken and havarti sandwich (without peppers). It was better than I thought it was going to be! It felt like a nice soft grilled cheese sandwich but with a juicy piece of chicken inside. I will say that my mouth was a bit cut up from eating the crust, but I think Id do it again... Chris got the steak fajitas and got them medium rare I believe. They do ask how you like it cooked! It came with plenty of toppings including an insane amount of cheese (we love cheese). For dessert I recommend the bread pudding. Even if you don't like bread pudding usually, this one is more of a pound cake type texture rather than a traditional bread pudding. Silverado is a branch of the Great American Restaurant collection. With that being said, their menu is basically the same as other GARs. I struggled to find something unique to this restaurant but couldn't. Some of the brands have menu items that are unique to them and some have unique decor. Silverado is not one of those locations. The interior is dark and woody, like many other GARs. Right down to the dessert, there is nothing unique. I have tried the burger, which was good and the chicken fingers which were just okay at best. The chicken fingers were very bland and had no seasoning. Both entrees came with fries that were cold. The server readily replaced them but even the fries had no seasoning. The best part of the meal was the pomegranate margarita and the bourbon white chocolate bread pudding. The drink was really good, but the serving size was really small. The dessert has always been my favorite and is available at all GARs. It is served warm with vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis. The inside is like a lava cake and is just so delicious! I truly hope they never take that dessert away! Parking at Silverado is a bit difficult in the evenings and weekends because the lot is quite small. read more
