The place was spacious and can cater big groups. They have bar area and indoor seatings available. But apparently they also have an outdoor which I didn't see at the time we visited. The staff were fast and accommodate us immediately. Got us a seat as soon as we enter the restaurant. We went here on a weekday night so this probably why not too busy. We've been to Dos Jefes (2 Chiefs) three times. It's like a bar and grill with lots of TV screens. There's a deck out back too. Last night they were playing Carribbean music at a good volume. Service is consistently very good, including nice touches like sweeping crumbs off your table and promptly taking away used dishes between courses. Dos Jefes's exterior sign indicates the cuisine is Tex-Mex. No, it isn't really; it's Salvadorean. Unfortunately, prices are very high. For example, the Azteca steak (carne asada) is over $27 (not $25.95 as shown on the website menu). Three tacos are gonna be over $15. The one dish I can recommend is the birria beef tacos. These are deep fried and served with some kind of thin red sauce (not consommé as the menu advertises). They have a good flavor and lots of meat. The Chile Con Queso is a Velveeta-like cheese sauce with bits of red pepper. It has a good flavor, but last night the tortilla chips accompanying the queso dip were somewhat burnt. The Ground Beef Enchiladas with red sauce come with Mexican rice and refried beans. The enchiladas are not bad at all even though they have very little red sauce. The rice, with bits of vegetables like scallion, peas and corn, is just so-so. The refried beans were excessively salty and inedible. The horchata was definitely not Mexican horchata. Absolutely amazing. Stopped in for lunch with a coworker, our 1st time here. We were kinda worried when we arrived to an empty place but we ordered. Food was fast to come out a was amazing. Just moved here because of the military hoping to find good food. Food was cold to the touch and soggy/uneatable nachos with this bean paste . More cheese and "beans" than chips making it a soggy pile of shit . Burrito was a cheesy mess and no seasoning. It's not a normal burrito you would expect . Portion size for the price wasn't worth it . Ordered a chimichanga and they gave me an enchilada. Rice was under cooked . Flour tortilla had this weird chew to it . Way better places to order from . I came here for lunch with some friends because I love. Tex-mex and wanted a margarita. The restaurant is located within a small strip of a few other businesses, however the parking lot is divided by poles, so you'll want to be sure you enter the lot on the same side as the restaurant. When we got there it was pretty quiet which was fine by me. The waiters were very attentive and nice. I started with a passion fruit margarita which was really good. One of my friends got a bloody Mary with tequila but didn't like it, take that for what it's worth since she didn't get it with vodka. Chips and salsa come with the table which is nice. My friend ordered queso and chips, I wasn't a fan of the queso, you can probably skip it too. I ordered the lunch tacos carbon with steak. The tacos were really good! The steak was juicy, tender and flavorful. My friends enjoyed their meals as well and had positive reviews. Overall I would definitely come back for more margaritas and the food, just not the queso. We have dined periodically at 2 Jefes Tex Mex ever since it opened. We took friends to dinner there a couple days ago and it was the best meal we've had there. We think the quality has gone up a notch. The food was fresh and delicious, the skinny margaritas are perfect, and the service was kind and professional. This is a fabulous restaurant! Prior to visiting Jefes I was disappointed in the Mex restaurants in NOVA. I tried Jefes and have finally found my go to Mex. From the Margaritas to the food, it was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The service was also fantastic. Be aware the parking lot is rather small, so if it was really busy parking could be a challenge, though we had no issues. Only real issue we had was some plates arrived warn, but nit hot. Dos Jefes is a new Tex-Mex restaurant in town, taking place of the old Pilar's. When we entered, we were welcomed warmly and were seated right away. It really does make a difference when everyone is dressed with a smile! The menu offers various appetizers, soups, salads, fajitas, taco platters, Tex-Mex items, seafood/chicken/steak/vegetarian options, and desserts. They also have a brunch and a lunch menu. We ordered: +the Carne Asada Fajitas - comes out in a sizzling platter with sauteed tomatoes, green peppers, and Spanish onions, with a side of Mexican rice, flour tortillas, a bowl of a la Charra beans, and a plate of guacamole, lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream; it also comes with a little cup of Mexican butter, and OMG, this makes all the difference in the world! Food as usual great. We ate here a lot but this was our first time late at night 9:00 pm. Our waitress could not speak or even understand English. I speak a little Spanish but she couldn't even get Chili Toreados correct . Okay so we all have off days, and my first review of this place was just that, an off day for the restaurant. After I left my first review, I received a message from a manager/owner apologizing for the experience and a personal invitation to come back so they could give it another go (I didn't approve it to be posted because it contained what looked to be a personal phone number). Without prior coordination (call me paranoid but i didn't want to be the dude that left a negative review, then told them when I was coming back and ending up with a "special" plate). I went back to give it another go today and it was a completely different experience. There weren't a lot of people in there, which is probably typical for a thursday evening. We were promptly greeted with the chips and pico and I can assure you that the chips are still chippin'. This time we ordered the seafood chimichanga, steak nachos, and a kids nachos. Food took about 10 mins to come out which was nice. I was surprised when the food came out because I had never seen nachos like this. Instead of small triangular sized chips with meat and fixings piled on top, there were a few large, almost hand sized chips with the cheese and meat on top. Cool concept and apparently it was a great execution because my kid inhaled it. The chimichanga (if you look at the pic, it looks like a small burrito and I can only imagine how big the actual burritos are) was good, especially when I added the house made hot sauce on top. Like last time, the customer service was great. I witnessed an individual (who I will assume is either a manager or owner) going from table to table checking up on the other patrons, which I view as fantastic customer service. The food is amazing even though the camerones ala Diablo are not like any we've ever had from Seattle to Boca Raton or San Diego to NYC.
