First time at Chadwick's for brunch and let's just say I'd easily go back! Our server was amazing, she took good care of us from start to finish. I enjoyed their espresso martini with my steak and eggs off their brunch menu. It was quite busy so highly recommended to get there early! Now that I know how tasty their brunch is, I'll have to come back and enjoy some more things on the menu!

TLDR: Chadwicks is your typical divey local watering hole spot in Old Town Alexandria offering up variety of food. Would recommend for game watching but keep the bar of expectation mid to low. This was my wife's and I first time visiting Chadwicks we came here as a JMU Football location. The first critique was we came in and was told the TVs were at the bar sections and we sat at a table in the section but the host failed to inform us that we needed to ask the bartender for menus and silverware. We literally sat for like 5-10 minutes before I went back to the hostess to ask and that's when I was told. This interaction is on the hostess not the bartender. On to the food, we were here for brunch hours and I opted for the Monte Cristo which was recommended by the bartender that and the home fries were really good. The chowder lacked salt and pepper big time but once we added, it was decent. The clams in it were a bit chewy for my liking. My wife had the Au Jus she said she liked it but it was dry in some areas. In all I would come back here for sure to bar dive or to watch a game and grab a pub-ish bite. Chadwick's doesn't try to be something it's not and that's a good thing.

Amazing food, great service. I got the Monte Cristo. Some of the most perfect French toast I've ever had and the jam for the sandwich was tart and delicious. Good prices too Nice dive bar atmosphere, close to a park and a Ben and Jerry's down the road.

First time visiting DC, first time staying in Alexandria, Chadwick's was the very first restaurant we tried in the area. We stayed at Hotel Indigo, right down the block, and walked here for dinner after a late flight and hotel check-in. Food was great, service was meh, location is excellent. Parking would have been a challenge had we not been staying at the hotel, which included a garage parking space. Overall, I'd recommend trying Chadwick's. We ended up finding other spots in Alexandria with better ambiance but wouldn't mind coming back.

This place is a perfect place to go for a happy hour. I thoroughly enjoyed the crabcakes and the buffalo wings. They were cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is perfect to go after work. They have also really great prices for drinks like $5 drafts. Overall, my favorite food has to be the crabcakes and the apple pie with ice cream not picture because I ate it all. :) I highly recommend you check it out and the parking is not too bad.

Really enjoyed this spot. Wasn't super busy so I was seated upstairs immediately. Took a moment for the waiter to come but he did come with water in hand. For brunch mimosas at 5 bucks so I ordered a pineapple one. I always ask the staff what they enjoy on the menu. He recommended anything with salmon. I opted for the spicy chicken egg rolls and chicken francios with a side of home fries. The egg rolls were amazing, Crispy and hot. The chicken francios was good but i wasn't blown away. The French toast had a ton of butter sitting on top of it so it made it soggy so I wasn't a fan. The play list they had going was great. The ladies next to me asked for the pandora station because it truly was a vibe. I would absolutely come back.

This is a great bar for going to hangout and drink with friends or grab a quick bite after a walk along the river. It is very spacious and I haven't had to wait when I come. The food is also actually very good for a bar! The service is great and if you don't know what to get, they make great suggestions.

From the moment we entered until we left, it was so cozy and family friendly. Seeing so many families on a Sunday early afternoon was a good sign. We enjoyed all of our food and we had a full spread. After church, you want a heart warming meal that meets everyone's needs, some went lighter with a wrap, and some of us went full throttle brunch with mimosas & chicken Francois! The service was friendly and attentive. It was a perfect location just off the water in Old Town Alexandria. Huge fan and I will be back over and over!

I've been to Chadwick's twice within the past two years and it was decent. However, I recently went and I was not impressed by the food. I had the crab dip and it was very watery in consistency and didn't have much of a taste. I also expected more from the fried chicken sandwich because I've had the wings before and they were tasty, but the fried chicken sandwich was bland.

We had our Bookclub meeting here last night and it was great. The place was pretty packed so we sat outside. The waiter was very nice. The appetizers were delicious, we had the crab dip and the green fried tomatoes. I ordered the salmon with rice and green beans, it was maybe missing a sauce on the salmon but that than that it was cooked to perfection. I also had an apple pie for dessert and they heated it up with a scoop of ice cream, it was to die for.

Wish we had planned to have dinner here. This is a don't miss spot. Local friendly people, friendly staff, good drinks, good food and great conversation. We stopped in here per recommendation of a Ferry Boat worker after we got off of our Potomac River tour. Good call on his part. Upon entering we were met by Nick who was tending bar. We sat at the bar and the experience began. What do I mean by experience.... Just a pleasant conversation with Nick who made us feel welcome into this foreign place. We ordered a couple of apps to soak up the alcohol. Both very good. Spicy Chicken Egg rolls and the special fish tacos. My only complaint the tacos didn't come with lime slices to squeeze onto them. This was quickly remedied with a quick ask to Nick. Also a very good sign about the food were the number of people (locals) who were coming in to pick up their take out orders. If I lived near by I would frequent this place often. As for the interior it had a maritime vibe and was well maintained.

I had read a few reviews about this place and decided to come for dinner... As we walked in, there was a guy lounging on a chair right at the entrance, who asked us if we were looking to have dinner...we said Yes. He grabbed a couple of menus and showed us to a table....the odd thing is that he was not standing up waiting to greet people like most hosts would....but lounging....LOL. Luis was our server and he was very nice and attentive. We got some IPAs (delish) and some really good food...I got the salmon and my husband got the buttermilk fried chicken plate. Both were really well done and deliciously prepared. The portions were adequate..not huge...but not small either... Great place with a nice cozy vibe....located in an old brick and stone buidling...

Do you still have half priced hamburgers on Monday's?

Yes. Burgers are half-priced (for dine-in only, with the purchase of a beverage) from 11:00 am til 1:00 am.

Where do you park? Is it only street parking or is there a nearby parking lot?

There is a nearby parking lot for $15.

Would it be loud during dinner time on Saturday?

I was there after hours (after 11pm) and it was loud (music - people trying to talk over the music) If you are trying to have an intimate conversation - this isn't the place. :-)

We wanted to reserve for brunch this weekend. Possible to do online or call?

Call the restaurant 703.836.4442. Thanks!

We are about 18 blocks from the metro. There is a free trolley that’ll give you a ride to the waterfront. We are only 2 blocks from the waterfront trolley stop.

Do they have outdoor seating?

Yes a small patio at the entrance

Should I make reservations for a group of 6 people next Sunday during brunch. Can I even make reservations for brunch?

Please do! We take reservations for parties of 5 to 16 during brunch. Call us 703.836.4442 and we’ll get you all set up. See you at brunch!

Do they have bottomless mimosas here?

Unfortunately bottomless mimosas are not legal in Virginia. We do have very cheap mimosas however. $4 mimosas and $14 bottles of bubbles. GOOD bubbles.

Both times we've gone, we've ended up in the whiskey bar section. It's cozy, a little tucked away, and honestly the perfect setting for good drinks and good conversation. We also got lucky on both visits because Jessica took care of us each time. She's fantastic. She's witty, sharp, and knows the menu and the whiskey list inside and out. She makes choosing drinks or food feel effortless and fun, and she brings a ton of personality without ever overdoing it... she reads the group pretty well. The pours, the recommendations, the way they talk about the bottles on the shelf, it all shows real skill and pride. The food has been consistently great. We've tried the burgers, the chicken sandwich, the braised short rib, and the crab dip, and every single one has been a hit. Flavorful, well made, and worth coming back for. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again is the pulled pork. It wasn't bad, just not the style or flavor profile I look for in a place like this. Do it.

Listen... cabbage is usually just there for emotional support. Not this time. This cabbage had purpose. This cabbage had ambition. By the end, I wasn't "finishing my meal"--I was chasing the last bites like I'd just spotted the end of a rainbow. Container: empty. Dignity: questionable. Satisfaction: unmatched. At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. When I asked about the discrepancy, I was told the systems sometimes differ by a few cents. The adjustment was made when I requested to pay the correct total, but the response suggested that questioning "only two cents" was unreasonable. My concern was never the amount; it was the principle. When a customer is shown one accurate total and then asked to authorize a higher one without explanation, it creates the appearance of taking money that was not part of the stated charge. If I may add my two cents as a former patron and frequent restaurant guest: trust matters in a dining experience. Even a few unexplained pennies raise a reasonable question--if this occurs repeatedly throughout the day, where do those extra cents go? A couple of cents from one guest, a few more from another, eventually add up. Transparency in billing prevents that concern. When a discrepancy is presented without a clear explanation and a patron is made to feel foolish for asking about it, it leaves a bad taste, regardless of how enjoyable the meal may have been.
