    Baked Rockfish
    Ellen K.

We picked this spot for my birthday dinner last night. I got the Baked Rockfish while my partner got the lamp chops. Both entrees were excellent, and I also got the Stardust cocktail, which had plenty of crushed pomegranate, yummy but strong. To close out our meal, we each had dessert. he had a peanut butter pie with macadamia ice cream while I had the lemon raspberry cake. Overall, I'd give it another go if I were in the area and pinched for options (but I haven't explored Olde Town much so Id probably explore new spots). I felt the prices were fair for the area and the ambience was great too. Service fell short a bit - we didn't get checked on until it was time for dessert, and then dessert took forever to come out, almost making us late for our movie.

Lobster Arancini - This week's appetizer special.

I'm new to the area and have been exploring Northern Virginia and DC, and after visiting Virtue Feed & Grain last night, I can honestly say it deserves 10 stars if that were possible! Our server, Clay, was absolutely fantastic. As someone who has worked as a server/bartender for the past 18 years, I can confidently say Clay truly knows his craft. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and gave excellent recommendations on drinks, specialty items, and the overall menu. You can tell he takes pride in his work and genuinely wants every guest to have a great experience. He really made the night even more enjoyable. The drinks were fabulous and came out quickly, and the food was phenomenal. We started with the Lobster Arancini and Brussels sprouts for appetizers, both were delicious! I was honestly sad to hear the arancini was a special because I would order it every time I come back. For our entrées, we had the Lobster Risotto and the Rigatoni alla Vodka, and both were simply amazing. The atmosphere is such a vibe, and the entire staff; from the hostesses to the food runners to the bartenders and servers - was impeccable. Everything about the experience was great. I will absolutely be returning regularly and highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area!

I came here for my best friend's graduation. I appreciate how they had outdoor seating. They also have two levels. The ambiance is nice, especially when you first walk in. The food was good. We had the crab dip for an appetizer and it was nicely seasoned. The strawberry lemonade is good, but it's not a lot for the price. I ordered the short rib; it was good, but they only gave me two small pieces of short rib. In terms of service, our waiter was attentive and kind.

We are in town to watch some D1 softball and visit DC. Staying in Alexandria South. Our first visit to Old Town brought us here after a bit of a walk. The outside is beautiful and the reason we stopped to see if they had room without a reservation. Seating outside, first floor and second floor. We were seated on the second floor with our own window to the outside. We look the building, architecture, and ambiance/decor. Our server, Val, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and apps to include, scotch eggs and Brussels. So good and the food came out quick! For the dinner, it was the Southwest Caesar salad with chicken and the chicken carnitas tacos. Both were excellent. Would we come back? Yes most definitely. Item of note, the staff handled a birthday, regular patrons, and tables with a large amount of kids without blinking an eye!

    Crab dip and a Kolsch

Stopped by for a quick appy with the wife. Had the crab dip and two of the Klosch draft beers. Crab dip was dammed good and would have again. Beer was ok, not great. A little on the bitter side for some reason. We sat at the bar and the service was better than average.

Everything at Virtue Feed & Grain was amazing! The atmosphere is sophisticated yet cozy. The staff is welcoming. The menu has a lot of variety, and everything we ordered was delicious. I love French dip sandwiches, and this was one of the best I've had. We've been back multiple times and will be back several more!

Virtue is the place to go when you want something with a casual but still upscale vibe. It feels more restaurant-y than pub-y, although you can still grab a pint. I've always been impressed with its menu. This time I ended up getting lamb shanks, but during different visits I've tried everything from cony to burgers. Prices are what you'd expect for Old Town. The wine list is also really good. I was happy to see bottles of local Virginia wine available, and I always support places that lend their support to locals. For my latest visit I had an awesome waiter, who really took care of us (and our birthday girl).

TLDR; super beautiful establishment, great service overall, very fresh food. Atmosphere: Went here tonight for a friend birthday dinner. The upstairs features a beautiful light tree (see pictures) in the center that really makes the experience magical. Our server, Coy was extremely nice, attentive and answered all our questions. Food: The chicken piccata was a 7/10, only because i wanted a little bit more flavor to it. Otherwise, it was extremely fresh, a lot of sauce, the chicken was extremely crispy and paired well together with the angel hair. I definitely took my leftovers home. My friend had the lamb chops and said it was a 10/10. They cooked it exactly how he requested it. Drink: I got the mocktail, Winter Fizz. Superrrr refreshing, flavorful and paired well with the meal. I was tempted to get another round ! After my server, Coy, offered us some tea and I definitely got some. It was a perfect ending to the meal.

I definitely recommend getting reservations if you're going on a weekend or holiday. This place always seems to be at capacity and for good reason. The menu is filled with solid options, and has something for everyone. Service each time that I have visited (3 times now) has been exceptional. There is an additional bar upstairs if you're looking for a bar seating, but it seems to fill up just as quickly as the downstairs bar. Both upstairs and down give you a rustic yet friendly setting that is pleasant at night or during the day. The drink menu offers unique spins on standard cocktails, trust your gut and your servers' recommendations, and you will not leave disappointed.

Cute restaurant, you can eat outside on the main floor or upstairs. We started out sitting outside. It was a pretty cool night and we ended up going inside to eat. BUT, when we got outside we asked if there were tables closer to the water. We started walking back and the hostess said, sorry this is the closet table, as the waiter at the end had too many tables. Not even 5 minutes later, we saw a couple being taken to the same area we requested :/ I had the short ribSHORT RIBS ...29 red wine braised short ribs, sauteed mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetable of the day **YUMMMMY! GET THIS!! VIRTUE MARTINI ...14 belvedere vodka, st. elder elderflower liqueur, strawberry coulis, sparkling wine, basil ** tasty, slow slipper

What a fun experience! My friend and I were on the hunt for a restaurant with good food and decorated for Christmas. Virtue Feed and Grain exceeded expectations! The entire restaurant was decked out in decor and was absolutely stunning. When we entered we put our name down and were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. However, the wait was only about five minutes which was a pleasant surprise ! Our waiter was knowledgeable and shared his recommendations. The menu offered all kinds of specials. Top tier experience. Definitely recommend Virtue Feed and Grain whether you're a local or just visiting the area.

Was looking for a lively Saturday night spot in old town and this place always comes up first when I'm searching for restaurants in old town so thought I'd give it a try! It's super big with a dining area and bar on both floors. We didn't have a reservation but put our name in and found seats at the bar in the meantime. We opted to stay at the bar because the barstools were super comfy and it was cool vibes there! We had the peppermint espresso martinis and they were absolutely delicious! We both ordered the virtue burger and the toppings weren't anything special and I personally think it could've used some sort of sauce, but the burger itself was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The fries were very good too. I enjoy this location close to the water and just off the main row of bars and restaurants.

I'd toootally get my kids memberships if we lived nearby. Since we probably would only go weekends for an hour or two, I'm glad there are the options for one time pay or multi hour passes for future use. Since we weren't sure if we'd be back, we gave it a try for one hour. Prices may change but our first time was $18 per child per hour. This may seem high for only one hour, but my kids had fun and my hour without worrying about them or being interrupted was very productive so it was worth it. Staff are friendly.
