    Incredible selection of Bourbons!
    Marc H.

I was visiting my daughter who is a foodie like her dad and she recommended Virtue. It is in a historic old building that is really neat! The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the Bourbon selection was World Class! I liked it so much I went back the following week!

The first time we went we had clay and our time was terrific. However this time we had Miya and she needs more training as a server. She dropped off waters for the table but never introduced herself and left us alone without stopping by for more than fifteen minutes. I was getting ready to head down to the host stand to ask for a new server but in the nick of time, she rescued herself. We kept Miya, but she needs more training on the details. Our food was delicious.

Yum!! First time trying this spot and all the food was great! Bonus points for cute outside seating too!

We walked in at 5pm with a party of five and were seated immediately! The food was amazing, the drink and dinner special were great and the service was incredible! It was perfect for our family dinner!

    Baked Rockfish

We picked this spot for my birthday dinner last night. I got the Baked Rockfish while my partner got the lamp chops. Both entrees were excellent, and I also got the Stardust cocktail, which had plenty of crushed pomegranate, yummy but strong. To close out our meal, we each had dessert. he had a peanut butter pie with macadamia ice cream while I had the lemon raspberry cake. Overall, I'd give it another go if I were in the area and pinched for options (but I haven't explored Olde Town much so Id probably explore new spots). I felt the prices were fair for the area and the ambience was great too. Service fell short a bit - we didn't get checked on until it was time for dessert, and then dessert took forever to come out, almost making us late for our movie.

    Scotch eggs, Brussels and drinks!

We are in town to watch some D1 softball and visit DC. Staying in Alexandria South. Our first visit to Old Town brought us here after a bit of a walk. The outside is beautiful and the reason we stopped to see if they had room without a reservation. Seating outside, first floor and second floor. We were seated on the second floor with our own window to the outside. We look the building, architecture, and ambiance/decor. Our server, Val, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and apps to include, scotch eggs and Brussels. So good and the food came out quick! For the dinner, it was the Southwest Caesar salad with chicken and the chicken carnitas tacos. Both were excellent. Would we come back? Yes most definitely. Item of note, the staff handled a birthday, regular patrons, and tables with a large amount of kids without blinking an eye!

Virtue is the place to go when you want something with a casual but still upscale vibe. It feels more restaurant-y than pub-y, although you can still grab a pint. I've always been impressed with its menu. This time I ended up getting lamb shanks, but during different visits I've tried everything from cony to burgers. Prices are what you'd expect for Old Town. The wine list is also really good. I was happy to see bottles of local Virginia wine available, and I always support places that lend their support to locals. For my latest visit I had an awesome waiter, who really took care of us (and our birthday girl).

    Upstairs

TLDR; super beautiful establishment, great service overall, very fresh food. Atmosphere: Went here tonight for a friend birthday dinner. The upstairs features a beautiful light tree (see pictures) in the center that really makes the experience magical. Our server, Coy was extremely nice, attentive and answered all our questions. Food: The chicken piccata was a 7/10, only because i wanted a little bit more flavor to it. Otherwise, it was extremely fresh, a lot of sauce, the chicken was extremely crispy and paired well together with the angel hair. I definitely took my leftovers home. My friend had the lamb chops and said it was a 10/10. They cooked it exactly how he requested it. Drink: I got the mocktail, Winter Fizz. Superrrr refreshing, flavorful and paired well with the meal. I was tempted to get another round ! After my server, Coy, offered us some tea and I definitely got some. It was a perfect ending to the meal.

    Crab dip and a Kolsch
    John T.

Stopped by for a quick appy with the wife. Had the crab dip and two of the Klosch draft beers. Crab dip was dammed good and would have again. Beer was ok, not great. A little on the bitter side for some reason. We sat at the bar and the service was better than average.

I definitely recommend getting reservations if you're going on a weekend or holiday. This place always seems to be at capacity and for good reason. The menu is filled with solid options, and has something for everyone. Service each time that I have visited (3 times now) has been exceptional. There is an additional bar upstairs if you're looking for a bar seating, but it seems to fill up just as quickly as the downstairs bar. Both upstairs and down give you a rustic yet friendly setting that is pleasant at night or during the day. The drink menu offers unique spins on standard cocktails, trust your gut and your servers' recommendations, and you will not leave disappointed.

Everything at Virtue Feed & Grain was amazing! The atmosphere is sophisticated yet cozy. The staff is welcoming. The menu has a lot of variety, and everything we ordered was delicious. I love French dip sandwiches, and this was one of the best I've had. We've been back multiple times and will be back several more!

This was the half roast chicken, weekly special-- please make it a regular entree! I will come back for it! Tasted awesome with the fries!
    Belle E.

The weekly special roasted half-chicken was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, paired beautifully with the fries. I will come back for it if it's part of the regular menu.

Half of the wagyu birria burger. It was soo good that I kept eating it before I remembered the picture. Duck fat fries are a must!

The new chef and sommelier make the updated Majestic an incredible addition to the Alexandria restaurant scene. You can go for comfort food - a burger or roasted half chicken - or you can go for intriguing New American food with a Mediterranean twist. It's all terrific. GM and sommelier Jason can suggest great wine pairings by the glass - interesting, high quality wines that bring out the best in both food and wine but that aren't budget busters. Our group especially enjoyed the scallops and saffron rice (a beautifully plated dish of rice surrounded with scallops, mussels, clams and persillade/nduja sauce); the grilled salmon (a hearty piece of fresh fish complemented with a generous serving of corn, pickled ramps, roasted shishito peppers, peas and tomato relish); mouthwatering braised brisket arancini; and crispy artichokes. The Parker House rolls were a classic indulgence. Our desserts - coconut cake and chocolate mousse - were delicious.
