Inside of the Wagyu burger with the top bun off.
Mike A.

It's pricey but the food is definitely good. I ate here 2 nights in a row. On the first night I got the Wagyu burger and the apple tart with ice cream. Also had a beer flight which was a nice sampling of 4 of the beers which were on tap. The burger was very good and the apple tart was excellent. On the second night I started with the Mezze platter which was very good - also I must give credit where credit is due in that offer on things like this you run out of hummus and tabbouleh and are stuck with a bunch of dry unadorned pita. Well not here!! I was generously slathering stuff in the pitas and still had hummus and tabbouleh leftover to put on the cucumber slices. I also had the green curry tofu which had a nice spice kick to it. There was a bit of a wait to be seated the first night, they weren't overly busy it just took quite a while to be seated. On the second night I was seated pretty quickly. Servers were attentive and knowledgable. Quite friendly as well. There is a large bar which is pretty full and several tables, both "regular" and high tops. Several TVs around the place showing various shows, I was seated with my back to them so I didn't watch anything. I just brought a book and read.

This place is located in a hotel - Crown Plaza Crystal City. This wasn't clear, but I probably just missed that. Parked in the street using the park app. There is a parking garage. I do r know if they validate for restaurant business. Restaurant is pretty small. We weee promptly greeted and seated at a table for 2. Wife had the autumn inspired sangria. I stuck with water this trip. Menu was reasonable in depth and price. Not bad for DC metro at least. We started with the mezzeh appetizer. Super good. I had the burger. I can't remember what the wife had, but she smiled through the meal, so it must have been fine. Good service. Good vibe. Recommended while in Crystal City area.

Fish and chips : fresh and yummy!

Great Cosmo that really started our vacay weekend right! Come and get it! So we wanted a night cap and a munchie and shared their fish and chips which were fresh and fluffy! The place was the hotel bar (Crowne plaza at crystal city) so we were very surprised it actually had a cool atmosphere and many patrons at 9:30 pm and was serving food and drinks until 11! They even came around announcing their "last call" So that was cool. Good job Potomac social! Great kick off to our vacation weekend!

Mussels and calamari.

We got mussels, steak, tacos and calamari and all three were fantastic. The only negative might be the calamari had a little too much breading. The service was prompt.

French Onion Soup and Asian Chicken Salad

At the end of a long travel and work day, it was nice to return to the hotel and stay in for dinner. This spot is located on the mezzanine level of the Crowne Plaza Crystal City hotel. The atmosphere is truly reminiscent of a tavern, with a full bar and dinner seating. While it wasn't crowded, most tables were reserved so we were seated at a high top table up against the television, which was a bit odd for viewing, but we were happy to be seated without delay. The menu had several great options, and I went for French onion soup and the Asian chicken salad. The crock of soup was deep, and the soup was warm and delicious. The salad was perfectly dressed and the noodles and edamame offered nice texture. Definite positive to get a great meal without leaving the hotel!

Expensive drinks as you would expect in a hotel but the food is good and reasonably priced. Rustic bar with good service. Full of people staying at hotel, friendly vibe.

The Potomac Social Tavern is a nice little restaurant in the Crown Plaza hotel. I went there with a rather large group of about 16 people for a retirement ceremony. The restaurant has a large bar with plenty of seating. There are tables throughout the bar area as well. They offer a pretty decent happy hour with $5 cocktails that ends at 6pm weekly. Towards the back of the bar area is a room where they have additional table setting. The back room is really cute and well lit. I ordered the chesapeak crab dip to start. It came out hot and with baked baguettes! It was pretty good but, a tad bit salty! For my meal, I ordered the prime burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon and cheese (bacon and cheese were a $1 for each extra topping). The service was great! Our waiter was awesome and very attentive for such a large group. My only issue was that all of our food came out cold. My burger was okay but, my fries were cold, as well as others orders at the table. The only thing that came out warm/hot was the crab dip and and Mac and Cheese. A few people at the table ordered a side of Mac that was pretty tasty but, definitely not worth the "truffle Mac and cheese" title! Overall, our meal was just okay. Drinks were okay and I enjoyed the apps better than my meal. Recommend the kitchen work on food timing to ensure everyone's food is hot!

Crab Dip

Located at the bottom of Crowne by the parking lot, this small tavern has bar like vibes but a clean look. My friends and I decided to give this place a try on a Sunday evening. If you're not staying in the hotel, look for parallel parking. We got some drinks, and good. The crab dip was delicious and the bread was so toasty and crunchy. The mussels were average - not a big fan of tomato base mussels and they only had one option. Service was okay- not much staff so they had a difficult time of keeping up but still pretty average with time and accuracy.

Best hamburger ever. I ordered the crab dip, which was a mistake as it left zero room for the burger.

Let's start with the Sunday Brunch…read more I defy anyone to find fault with that value. First round of mimosas is expensive but the next six rounds is cheeeeap. And the selection?!?! For under $70 two people can have crab cakes benedict, fried brussels, crispy French toast... I don't even remember. Like ten different things! I didn't have to eat again until 9pm. The food was great! Vinny, who was our handler (clearly he has training in special education or something because we that table. Or maybe the TIPS trainings have advanced to include messy brunch people) was fun, patient, and knowledgeable. This is THE SPOT for brunch on Sunday.

There was a very large party already on the patio, and I was seated behind them. I waited about 12-15 minutes before the rest of my group arrived, but no server ever came by. We decided to head inside to get re‑seated, but couldn't find a hostess anywhere. We eventually flagged down a random server in the bar area and asked if a four‑top could be cleared so we could sit there instead. Thankfully, once we moved inside, everything improved dramatically. Service from that point on was attentive and friendly. The "Peoples Hour" menu was a highlight--great pricing without feeling "cheap." Appetizers were $6-10, cocktails $6-8, wines $6, and beers $6.50. The Down & Dirty (a vodka martini variation without vermouth) was solid, and the Out of the Office...Forever rum punch was decent. For food, we tried several items: - Makers Mini Nachos with steak -- Generous toppings but the chips got soggy quickly under all the queso, sour cream, and guac, which is not necessarily a bad thing. - Taco-bout Fish -- Crispy cod with a lemon aioli; one of the better bites of the night. - Drop It Like It's Hot -- Really good chicken tenders with a spicy Comeback sauce. - Lil B sliders -- Nicely cooked and not overdone; the Comeback sauce added a nice kick. The space has an upscale sports‑bar vibe with TVs above and around the bar. Seating can feel tight when it's busy, and the noise level definitely climbs, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. Despite the rocky start, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. Good food, great happy hour pricing, and solid service once we were settled inside. I'd return--just probably not to the patio during a big party.

I popped in during the Final Four, and let me tell you, the service was absolutely phenomenal, the ambiance was electric (perfect for all those nail-biting moments!), and the food? Oh. My. Goodness. The food was so delicious, it deserves its own championship trophy! My server, Maria C, was an absolute superstar! She was super attentive, kept the good times rolling while I was glued to the game, and her food recommendations? Chef's kiss! I devoured a burger with sweet potato fries that was so good, it almost made me forget about the score. HIGHLY, highly recommend that combo! And the drinks - both cocktails and mocktails - were just divine. Overall, it was an absolutely AWESOME experience! I've already spread the gospel to my team and supervisor, and guess what? We're making a return on April 16th!

Reservations were easy to make, we were seated very quickly, the chairs were comfortable, and the ambiance was beautiful. It is hard to beat a rotating restaurant and the views it offers. The food was excellent. We tried the prix fixe Cherry Blossom special, which included a choice of short ribs or salmon, and both were very good. The specialty drinks for the occasion were excellent, the desserts were very good, and the overall experience was memorable. My only concern was the service. I am not sure whether it was because it was late in the evening, but our waiter seemed very disengaged. For a restaurant that presents itself this well, I would expect the service staff to be much more attentive and invested in the guest experience.
