Bangers and Mash

Great friendly service. Drinks had some stank on them... No, they did not smell. They had some punch. Johnny's Old Fashion hit the spot. Loved the bangers & mash. My girls loved the fish & chips. Would eat here again.

After our flight to DC, we were starving from being up super early for our flight. I wanted to find a place that was in close proximity to the airport and came across this spot on Google. I thought this would be perfect because my mom is always trying to find a new place for her beloved fish and chips! My brother and I shared the chicken Caesar wrap that definitely hit the spot. It was fresh and the chicken was tasty! My mom got her fish and chips, along with us sharing the chicken nachos. The nachos were delicious as well! Our service was pretty top notch too. I don't think it hurt that we were the first ones there since it was a very cold day out! College football was on too which was a plus!

A fun pub right on 23rd corridor of Crystal City. A great Irish pub with daily specials and a good menu. Excellent friendly service. A nice bar with high tops & regular tables. They have live music on weekends. They did an excellent job with our group. Sean was a good server. The pork chops were delicious.

Chicken Pot Pie

Fast service, delicious chicken pot pie meal. A giant single layer biscuit crust on top was a cool twist. A bunch of televisions with sports was on. Not too packed even on a weekend. Enjoyable meal.

Our server, Sean was amazing. The chili cheese fries were tied with the best we've ever had. We had them with bacon. The beef stew was amazing and definitely the best Irish beef stew I've ever had. The chicken pot pie was huge and my husband absolutely loved it. My grandson had the burger and it was cooked perfectly and he said it was up there with the best burger he's ever had. Definitely recommend McNamara's pub. Football season is about to start so find your way down to the pub to watch some games. The only complaint is the ketchup. Especially if you're a Steelers bar, you definitely should have Heinz

3.5. Really solid for home style food and drinks. This is stick to your ribs stuff and it's good! Would recommend the chicken pot pie. Loved the tator tots. They have a mean Shepards pie.

This place was phenomenal! Very cleanly and good vibes throughout. Wait staff is super friendly and helpful. Food was super good and tasted fresh which is rare for a "pub" restaurant. Even the veggies were fresh in some capacity and came out al dente instead of complete mush. Short review but that's all I have to say, this place was delicious!

Small corner restaurant on a strip of different kinds of restaurants, you have a mixture of options. Came here to enjoy happy hour and have drinks with friends. They have food and drink specials throughout the week including weekends! $5 dollar jameson on a Sunday?! Who doesn't love that? Bar was fully packed so we got a table, but the service was pretty quick. Chandler was on top of getting our drinks and stayed attentive even when they had a quick dinner rush. They were kind of slow around 530pm then around 6pm had a full restaurant. Nothing on the food menu screamed "EAT ME," but i did find some items intriguing enough to want to come and try again. The Poutine tots did catch my eye and i was super excited to try it as i love cheese curd poutines! The tots?! 10/10. It was so yummy, had pulled pork, cheese, and it was smothered in gravy! Each bite was coated perfectly and they did not skimp on the pork! I am getting hungry thinking about it right now...I would love to actually come try some of their Irish dishes since it is an Irish sport pub. I knocked off one star, because the cleanliness of the restaurant slacked a little and so did the bathrooms, dirty no toilet paper or soap... floors were wet and sticky as well as the tables. I get super ick when i see that so it makes me wonder how their kitchen is...scary. Hopefully their staff cares about food handling and takes the back of the house serious!

I came back for the karaoke and gave this place another chance. It has gotten MUCH better! Food is still good. They have more staff, which helps a lot. It ia now a solid bar and great place for groups. Karaoke is every Friday and Saturday night 9pm-1am. Free parking in the large parking lot behind the block. There is a shortcut walkway from the parking lot to the front of the block.

To cap off a day of sightseeing in Washington DC. We referred to Yelp and found this amazing Irish pub! Lots of locals. After reviewing their menu and ordering adult beverages, my wife decided on their adult grilled cheese and I their mahi-mahi special. The adult grilled cheese was spectacular filled with thick, bacon and tomatoes, the mahi-mahi special was truly delicious! A large portion of fish and wonderfully steamed vegetables! We sat at the bar and of course had great service! It's really our favorite spot. Nibble on my wife ordered a side of their tater tots. They were crisp and delicious! For whatever ridiculous reason we still had room for a brownie sundae! If you're in the area, you could do a lot worse! Two thumbs up from our POV.

Great pub to hang out! i really enjoyed the beef stew it really hit the spot on a cold day, it was very filling and tasted so delicious. It was a large portion so i would definitely recommend sharing it between two people. The service was great we had a large group and they were attentive to everyone.

My friends and I wanted to check this place out after our rock climbing session. Was a pleasant surprise, with great services and, a lively ambiance for a Wednesday night, and the food was great. I had the fish and chips, the fish was not greasy, light batter, and the fish didn't taste like it was frozen. The tartar sauce was solid, the chips were ok, nothing to complain about. The mimosa was good as well, pretty refreshing.

Music was a major miss (why are we playing dubstep in a pub??) but the appetizers and drinks were pretty solid. Service was alright. Went here on a Sunday so it wasn't super happening even though some drunk old dudes wanted to fight each other . Adds to the pub vibe so I didn't mind it much. They make a solid Old Fashioned and decent beer selection. Overall would recommend for a quick drink/visit.

So I'll pose this questions to my fellow beer hunters. What matters to you most ... atmosphere of the bar, or an excellent selection of craft beers on tap, including a few that are hard to find, at rock bottom prices. If you are in the camp of the latter, then you will love Arlington Pub. I stumbled upon Arlington Pub a bit on accident. I was in the area and had heard lots of great things about Galaxy Hut and wanted to check them out. I got there about 4:15PM and found their door locked. Having to REALLY need to use the bathroom, I decided to hop across the street to Whole Foods, take care of business, and then figure out a place to kill time until 5PM. As I headed upstairs towards the restroom, I saw that my search for a place to kill time would be over quickly. Behold Arlington Pub. They had recently had a tap takeover from Oskar Blues Brewing, the brewery best know for Dale's Pale Ale. Tap takeovers are a great way to find and sample beers that you rarely see. In this case, it was the excellent Ninja Cow ESB. I found it a bit dark in color for an ESB, but had that characteristic ESB smoothness. They were on the tail end of the tap takeover, so some of the OB brews were tapped, but had been replaced with some interesting options. They offer a flight, so I decided to sample a few of the other OB offerings - their 10 Fidy Imperial Stout and Gubna Imperial IPA. I also threw in selections from other breweries - Sump Coffee Stout from Perennial and Allagash Curieux, a Belgian Tripel aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels. These are all VERY strong beers, but the flight pours were generous, and there was no upcharge on the strong brews. The flight, normally $5, was $4 for happy hour. And prices like this is what makes you forget that you are enjoying cheap craft beer on the top floor of a hipster grocery store. My pint of Ninja Cow, normally $3, was a dollar off for happy hour. Throw in a double espresso to finish off after the flight, and my tab was under $10. And the bartender/barista actually functions as a checkout cashier, so there is no need to tip and no place for tipping on a credit card transaction. (I didn't ask if they were allowed to take cash tips ... I didn't have cash, so it was a bit of a moot point.) So if you can get over the fact that the this is a bar on the upper level of Whole Foods, you'll find Arlington Pub is a great place to kill some time and enjoy a great selection of craft beer at insanely cheap prices.

All the other Whole Foods have a much better Beer & Wine selection and are far more cleaner. The glasses all have lip marks and the tables have chunks of old food and are sticky ALWAYS! There are also numerous surveillance cameras & the lighting is extremely harsh above the bar which I find very odd. It's a shame because I love eating & having a drink or two at Whole Foods for it's a comfortable place to be alone & not feel like I'm at a meat market. I now many times go to the Fairoaks location which has lower nice lighting, is clean and has a great atmosphere.

My husband is a die-had Arsenal fan and was overjoyed by the chaotic bar scene he encountered as soon as he entered. The City + Arsenal game had the entire bar packed with fans from both sides pulling up random seats wherever there was a free space. We came a bit late into the game but found a seat in a quieter area of the restaurant that still had good television access. With the dreary rain outside, it felt like we had settled right in a proper British pub! Food wise: - For my husband: Wings were generous, grilled, and delicious with interesting flavors - For me: Fish and chips were light, flakey, and came with some of the best house cut fries I've ever had. - For the kiddos: Although they had a kids menu, my daughters decided to split some pancakes (basically crepes with raspberries and cream sauce, scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Portions are more than generous and the managers were bustling around, talking shop, and thanking everyone who walked through their door. We will definitely be back!

Since we sat outside we had to go inside to place our order and then a server or someone that worked there would deliver our food. If it was a drink then they would make the drink on the spot. I think it was a bit confusing because when you sit down at a table outside you'd assume maybe someone would notice but that isn't the case. I think that's just something people should ahead on time. It may be the same case inside where you have tables to sit down at but no server to take your order, ect. Otherwise I didn't get much here other than fries and Guinness on Draft so I can at least review something food related.. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great. Fries with cheese curds topped with gravy. Savory, Delicious, and filling. I'll most likely pay a 2nd visit! That Guinness is calling me!

I would have had a better experience if there were more vegan friendly options and better service. The only thing on the menu I could find that was vegan were french fries. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option. They do have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but they could not be made vegan. I ordered their french fries and was impressed with the portion size. Additionally, the french fries were well seasoned and the right amount of crispy with a soft center. This, however, is not a meal and I really wish I could have enjoyed something more substantial. The service was so slow and that would be my main reason for not wanting to come back. It was really fun seeing how many people the employees knew by name. The bar was bustling with business. I love that this restaurant is well attended by regulars and locals. But it took way too long for me to get a second drink and the bill.

For under $70 two people can have crab cakes benedict, fried brussels, crispy French toast... I don't even remember. Like ten different things! I didn't have to eat again until 9pm. The food was great! Vinny, who was our handler (clearly he has training in special education or something because we that table. There was a very large party already on the patio, and I was seated behind them. I waited about 12-15 minutes before the rest of my group arrived, but no server ever came by. We decided to head inside to get re‑seated, but couldn't find a hostess anywhere. We eventually flagged down a random server in the bar area and asked if a four‑top could be cleared so we could sit there instead. Thankfully, once we moved inside, everything improved dramatically. Service from that point on was attentive and friendly. The "Peoples Hour" menu was a highlight--great pricing without feeling "cheap." Appetizers were $6-10, cocktails $6-8, wines $6, and beers $6.50. The Down & Dirty (a vodka martini variation without vermouth) was solid, and the Out of the Office...Forever rum punch was decent. For food, we tried several items: - Makers Mini Nachos with steak -- Generous toppings but the chips got soggy quickly under all the queso, sour cream, and guac, which is not necessarily a bad thing. - Taco-bout Fish -- Crispy cod with a lemon aioli; one of the better bites of the night. - Drop It Like It's Hot -- Really good chicken tenders with a spicy Comeback sauce. - Lil B sliders -- Nicely cooked and not overdone; the Comeback sauce added a nice kick. The space has an upscale sports‑bar vibe with TVs above and around the bar. Seating can feel tight when it's busy, and the noise level definitely climbs, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. Despite the rocky start, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. Good food, great happy hour pricing, and solid service once we were settled inside. I'd return--just probably not to the patio during a big party.
