I have a ordered somethings ( fish and chips and chopped salad mainly ) on the menu and its pretty decent what I've ordered and for the price. Though more recently it's seems there's been a decline in quality. For example the fish and chips weren't as good as I had before. Wasn't imbued with that quality it had before. The chopped salad is fine to. Menu says it has black beans but it doesn't. Also the chicken is a bit on the dry side I don't like that I can use gift cards and you can order on app so I have physically gone in to order, which id prefer not to I'm not really a bad person. I tried calling once or twice and no one answered the phone so ordering through phone wasn't an option at that time . They may take orders by phone but not sure . read more

A local spot within Rockville Town Center. It's a nice gathering place to hang out with friends and to grab small bites or something to eat but it's not a place I would go out of my way for. Since we sat outside we had to go inside to place our order and then a server or someone that worked there would deliver our food. If it was a drink then they would make the drink on the spot. I think it was a bit confusing because when you sit down at a table outside you'd assume maybe someone would notice but that isn't the case. I think that's just something people should ahead on time. It may be the same case inside where you have tables to sit down at but no server to take your order, ect. Otherwise I didn't get much here other than fries and Guinness on Draft so I can at least review something food related.. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great. Finnagan's Wake is a local spot in the middle of Rockville Town Square. So many of the businesses in Town Square are chains so it is really cool to have a locally owned business hold its own among the big businesses. I would have had a better experience if there were more vegan friendly options and better service. The only thing on the menu I could find that was vegan were french fries. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option. They do have a decent amount of vegetarian options, but they could not be made vegan. I ordered their french fries and was impressed with the portion size. Additionally, the french fries were well seasoned and the right amount of crispy with a soft center. This, however, is not a meal and I really wish I could have enjoyed something more substantial. The service was so slow and that would be my main reason for not wanting to come back. It was really fun seeing how many people the employees knew by name. The bar was bustling with business. I love that this restaurant is well attended by regulars and locals. But it took way too long for me to get a second drink and the bill. read more

We watched the KNicks final victory game at the Pub, and it was such a happy positive environment in spite of the very few Texas fans that lost. The best lamb sliders around and the tacos are great.! service was tight because it was so busy, but they did a great job keeping up. Great beers on draft. read more

Pretty good looking space but for me that's where the good ended - well, the bartender was good at checking on everybody often enough. I went because I don't have network tv and didn't realize tonight's game is on Netflix which I have. So I ordered an old fashioned and their "Irish Cheesesteak" with fries. Fries were mediocre, some kind of coating that some people might like. I like my fries potatoey and crisp but not heavy on the saturated oil. The Cheesesteak was worse - the "Irish Cheddar Sauce" and mayo mixed was overload and the beef was thin, crisp from oil, and way to salty. I guess as far as bar food goes, I'd still say both were mediocre at best. There was no signature touch to the old fashioned, which was fine, but no aroma of bitters at all made it seem more like Woodford Reserve on the rocks. Music was loud and all two genres, post-punk and heavy metal. I didn't try any of the truly Irish food so I can't comment on that, who knows it might be good. read more

My boyfriend and I had our first date here at Finn's in 2020. Since then, we have been to Finn's on many occasions. The staff are truly great people, and the regulars are entertaining. The food was pretty good and the serving sizes as well. My partner had a Gouda beef burger that was huge and the fries were amazing. I had a chopped salad. It was huge, but I could pick my own dressing. Only thing is the balsamic was a little salty for me. The service was initially just ok as we weren't acknowledged walked in. Nice, neighborhood place with a decent draft beer menu, bar and food. Usually pretty loud indoor seating; on a nice day/evening it can be more pleasant to sit outdoors. Staff are enthusiastic and friendly. The Staff usually are really busy so it can be a chore to get their attention. The other night, we ordered a dozen wings with old Bay seasoning (a special) and the 3 fish taco plate. Old Bay Wings (10 wings for $14) - the sauce is billed as being house-made, but it's essentially a Franks hot sauce (traditional Buffalo wing sauce), but there was barely a hint of Old Bay. That was disappointing. Also, the wings themselves were scrawny - tiny, with very little meat and pretty hard to chew. For $14, the wings should be a lot better. Fish tacos ($14) - delicious. The server said they were spicy and there was a Siracha-type sauce lightly applied that gave the dish a nice kick. The fish was lightly breaded and fried - a nice sized piece of fish in each of the three tacos. Doesn't come with a side, like fries. Very filling and tasty. I don't tell people how to run their businesses, but I do wonder if maybe they should have more than two people covering the busy bar and restaurant, including the outside seating. At least that's how it's been the several times I've been here. The Staff does their best. read more

Really enjoyed this place. Went for the food and enjoyed the atmosphere. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was really good.

The food is really good here! We ordered the fish and chips, the poutine, and cheese curds. The food was super delicious and we went on a Sunday so it wasn't super busy. You do have to seat yourself and it is loud inside since people tend to go there for sports games. Only thing I didn't really like is how there were dogs inside. Since it's a restaurant the dogs inside seem kind of unsanitary since they were walking around freely. I recommend eating outside of you don't want to be around loud people or order to go. read more

I like this place a lot. My goto bar in RTS. Wish my neighborhood shopping center had a bar like this. Susie is the bartender we see most and she is so friendly. The staff here makes this place a more welcoming feel. Nothing like kicking back with some Guinness on draft and watch some games on tv and being waited on by some real good people. We really like their wings here, poutine, and other appetizers as I normally come here after dinner. But I finally decided to eat more substantial meal and ate a Guinness beef stew. It was huge and tasty. Need to hit my peloton bike after that meal. Next time fish and chips and save room for desserts. Anyone know where I can get a good sticky toffee pudding? Man if they had that dessert here, be here every week! The have weekday happy hour and late night happy hour too. Although we expected an Irish pub, we were really confused by the Van Halen music turned up so loud that we had to scream at each other across the table to have a conversation. ...And the tacos on the menu? The corned beef is much closer to a pot roast, and their version of shepherds pie features very very tough cuts of beef that have not been simmered long enough, and are chewy with gristle. I don't know what to say about our waitress who was wearing a sports bra with no shirt. The deviled eggs were mostly mustard-filled (and I like mustard in my deviled egg recipe, but not ONLY mustard). They burned the original burger to shoe leather; the replacement one was just shy of burnt. Two bright notes: the cheese curds were exactly what you would expect at a pub and the happy hour goes until 7pm and has decent prices, if limited selection. If I returned, it would be for drinks and curds... that's it. read more

A great pub with good energy. Nice menu. The blue cheese sliders are the bomb. Hugh onion rings. Reasonable prices. It was a good choice to relax and watch some Monday Night Football, especially when the big screen comes down on the back wall. They do have an outdoors seating area if you are so inclined, however it is self-serve. A very diverse crowd that enjoys a friendly atmosphere. Noise level is what you would expect, but overall everyone is having a good time. The two women behind the bar are going full speed ahead to keep up with the customers orders. Bridget was awesome and attentive. The Guinness was on point. I will make this a regular stop when visiting family in Rockville. I think it would be James Joyce approved. read more

Decent enough place to get a drink after most places are closed. Be careful where you park. Staff will get to you eventually; they think they're hot stuff and always act like they're in the weeds. If you're not a regular don't expect much as far as service goes. Security is good. Loud and obnoxious people whenever I go. Interesting mix of people and hipsters. Great place for happy hour. Came here on a Wed night with a group of people and the place was already pretty full. But the bartenders were quick to serve us our beers and our food. My husband and I both ordered the fish and chips, which I highly recommend! The portions are big. The fish batter is light and crispy while the fish was flaky. There was definitely a good ratio of batter to fish. The fries were also pretty good. We also like how they have picnic tables outside so if the weather is nice out, highly recommend sitting outdoors. It was nice of one of the bartenders to come bring the food to us outside. My British husband and I were in the area and stopped here before we left for home because of the British food on the menu. My husband repeatedly told me about how good the fish and chips were. So good that he ate the leftovers when we got home 2 hours later. There were four large pieces of beautifully battered fish plus the fries. I had a corned beef sandwich which was melt in your mouth good. It didn't have as much zing to it as I expected of a horseradish sauce but still very tasty. Service was so fast that we didn't have to pay for parking. This is the neighborhood bar that I enjoy going to. It's in Rockville Town Square and it's a great place to drink some beers and hang out with friends/family. They are open late and you usually see many hospitality folks hanging out here late at night. It's great to see some former GB staff here like Suzie. I usually eat some of their appetizers here such as poutine, Reuben eggs rolls and buffalo wings. They have the usual beer offerings found in typical Irish bars - Guinness, Smithwicks, Harp and others. Wish they could offer one local beer such as Seven Locks on draft. We got there at 8pm on Saturday night. This restaurant was walking distance from our hotel (Cambria). Our party of 5 was able to be seated fairly quickly. They have an extensive selection of beer and drinks. There's a bar area on the left and tables on the right. We had fried cheese curds and buffalo wings as appetizers. For dinner, one guy had the special Guinness stew, one had smoked Gouda and bacon burger, another had the buffalo chicken wrap, and one had the Finnegan's grilled cheese. Lots of meat and cabbage but with only 1 potatoe. There was a good sauce on top and I mixed it in. But that salty flavor that I usually associate with corned beef wasn't present. This was a great beef stew but I wouldn't think it was corned beef. The cheese steak was perfect. Plenty of meat, plenty of cheese. I wish I didn't eat it all in one sitting because I'll be going back again for another this week. So I'll be back for the cheese steak but not for the corned beef. "Hidden" gem in the heart of Rockville My husband and I had been craving a good shepherd's pie but living near Frederick, our options were limited. As always, I hopped on Yelp and found Finnegan's Wake. Advertised as a pub, we were somewhat hesitant to take our child to a pub but it was 2pm on a Saturday so we figured we were fine to head to the restaurant. We are so thankful we did!!! Our server was also running the bar and seemed to do both effortlessly. We started out with the cheese fries which were DIVINE. It is more like a cheese soup, but in the best way. Have you ever ordered cheese fries only to find that the cheese was only on the top of the fries? Well prepare yourself to be WOWed by this: cheese at the bottom, a layer of fries, then cheese on top, but the cheese has a hint of old bay in it (of course). We ordered shepherds pie and the grilled cheese at the recommendation of the server. This grilled cheese is probably one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever tasted. The shepherds pie was good, but it would've been better with lamb instead of ground beef. We also ordered a kids chicken tenders and that was pretty good. Service and value was top notch. I brought my family (including four adult children) to Finnegan's Wake for a birthday dinner. The restaurant feels like a pub, with a long bar and short and tall tables. We sat at the tables, ordered drinks, and dinner. This is a pleasant, unassuming place, and feels like how a neighborhood place should feel. Drinks were fair sized, and dinner portions will leave you full. I had the corned beef, which is reminiscent of what I tasted in Killarney. It is brined in house, and worth trying. Note that you need to read the complete description on the menu. My daughter ordered the three-cheese grilled cheese, but didn't read that the sandwich came with bacon. We sent it back and got one with no meat for her, and the wait staff was polite and understanding (and deserved the extra tip. I frequent Finnegans often. Several times a week for dinner and drinks. They have a great menu that's diverse so there is always something delicious to try. My favorite has to be their wings, corn beef sandwhich, grilled cheese, chopped salad, meatloaf and Irish cheddar fries. They also have corn beef egg rolls aka reuben rolls that are so delicious. You can't go wrong with whatever you order. They are also open late which is a great thing after a long work week when you need a relaxing place to hang out at. The staff is always very attentive, courteous and have a smile on their face when they greet you. Paul, Chloe and Alex are great bartenders. Even when it's very hectic they staff accordingly so that they have enough hands on deck and clientele is not waiting. Some nights they even have live music or beer vendors that bring special offers. For Christmas the bar was decorated so beautifully. It gave you such a nice vibe each time you walked in during the holidays. Yule log playing in the background and all. You can tell the owners are hands on and care about the place. If you haven't tried this place yet then you should. You could be calling this your new favorite bar! read more

I was having a spirited conversation with someone at the bar, and his buddy, a regular there, come back from the bathroom and pushed a heavy wooden bar stool at me. She had so much anger and hate in her face. She should have just used the word JEW instead because that's what these people really mean. This place has an obvious appeal as a sports bar/happy hour spot, but we came here for dinner with our kids. The food was really good. Cottage pie was great (though a bit small), sliders were good and the fries & poutine were great as well. Also the outdoor seating here is excellent for a number of reasons: 1) it's always shady, 2) it's within earshot of the rockville stage during concerts but far enough to carry on a conversation, and 3) you can still see the sports games on the screens inside the restaurant. read more
