3.2.24 Service Hubby and I started at the bar while we waited for friends. Hubby and I struck up a conversation with the owner who was friendly and personable. Owner worked the bar and served drinks, but also came around and took order for drinks when we transitioned to our table. We later had a server who was great too and came by frequently to clear our table and asked if we needed anything. Ambiance Fun and cute Irish decor throughout the pub. Loved the vibe. Bar, dining, and patio seating. Live music at 8pm on Saturdays. Drinks Extensive menu of wine, whiskey, and beer. Happy hour on all pints (16 oz), Glass Wines and Rail Spirits, Monday-Friday from 4-7pm and all day on Sundays (only at the bar). $2 off on bottles and cans in Saturdays. Food Menu Weekly Specials include: Monday: half priced burgers (night and dine-in only) Tuesday: unlimited veggie curry Wednesday: prime rib Saturday/Sunday Brunch (11am-3pm) Food Rating -Fish and Chips: average -Reuben sandwich: delish -mozzarella sticks: good -calamari: average -banofee pie: average (Friend wanted to come here as she was on a mission to try this, but sadly it disappointed.) Final Impression Love the service and ambiance. I don't drink so can't comment on it. Food was decent, but didn't have anything that was noteworthy. A great pub for St. Paddy's Day approaching.

Cool Irish Pub! Stopped by during happy hour to catch up with my favorite Yelper. We sat at the bar. Great service by Lauren and Louie. I wasn't hungry so I can't speak on the food. Drinks were good. I was impressed with the selection of bourbon/whiskey! I ended up trying a new one, Heaven's Door - I liked it. The customers seem to be regulars. I like this type of vibe. I would come again and try the food. Parking wasn't bad - found a metered spot. Definitely pay the meter - they do check!

I went on a Tuesday (COVID times) for my actual birthday. I called ahead to reserve an outdoor table for safety issues, and also so my friend and I could bring our dogs. Unfortunately severe rain was predicted so I called ahead and asked to be seated indoors. No problem, they said. We arrived promptly at 6:30 and were surprised to see the county surface lot direct across from them on Price Street was marked as free, yay! I am now thankful we were seated indoors because everyone seated outdoors was smoking! It smelled awful. If we had our dogs we would have had to leave. Once inside it was a different story. There were only two other tables occupied. They had moved out many tables so proper social distancing was enforced. I ordered a shandy which hit the spot. I haven't had a beer since this pandemic began. (I can't say the same thing about wine though.) I got the fish and chips and my friend had a hamburger. The fish was tender inside the perfectly crisped batter. They give you oodles of fries which my friend was able to help me out with, and I still had leftovers. I accidentally deleted my picture, but there are others on this page to view. But perhaps the best part of my meal was my birthday treat (On the house thanks to an email that arrived that afternoon)... bread pudding. This was the hugest piece I have ever seen served in a restaurant. And it was warm and delicious. I only ate a small portion there, and had two additional servings later. Get this! Overall, it was a happy birthday for me. This was my first time dining out during the pandemic. I cannot praise them enough for all they do to keep everyone safe. Our server made it a pleasurable experience too.

Nice little spot with nice staff. Food was pretty good and they had a ton of local beers, both on tap and in bottles/cans.

While celebrating a special birthday we made reservations for a birthday dinner here. I will admit…read morethat I was slightly worried after reading so many negative comments. My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!

Wow, what a quaint British pub in the middle of Vienna. Parking is a little tight for this area,…read morebut you can definitely find some spots in the back on a weekday. I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

This pub had excellent food & drinks. And a whole menu for many Gin & Tonic options…read more We enjoyed curry mussels, steak& ale pie, British fries and curry chicken salad. They had several pimms cups too. Highly recommended.

I understand why this Irish pub got voted the best in a city chock full of Irish pubs…read more I grew up in Boston so I feel well schooled on what makes for a proper Irish pub experience... Galway Bay delivers. The service was warm and gracious, the food was piping hot and delicious, and the Guinness was poured with patience. They have live music every Sunday that really adds to the atmosphere.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Annapolis, MD lies Galway Bay Irish Restaurant and Pub…read more My girlfriend and I spent three or four nights in Annapolis, MD and ended up dining here three times!! There was just too much on the menu to not try so we kept coming back. Here is a rundown of the food and drink at Galway's. First night I went with the Galway Bay's Signature Irish Dexter Burger. There is even an advertisement for the burger on the back of the men's toilet stall! That is how much they hype this burger up. The burger was indeed delicious, and you can make room for a drink or two at these authentic Irish Bar. Now, the bad news is I tried two different beers on tap and both tasted funky. The have another bar to the left of the main entrance and I did have a beer there on a different occasion and it was fine. I really can't explain why on the first night both beers tasted bad, perhaps they need to clean the tap or something hence the once star deduction. On the last night here, I had the Irish Spice Bag, this is described on the menu as a popular takeout dish in Ireland. It was full of spice and in a bag for sure and once shaken and poured out it had a lot of flavor (the fries and chicken) be forewarned though definitely not low sodium. My girlfriend ordered the Shepherd's pie twice. We both noticed the inside meat under the potatoes was extremely dark in color. Not sure why that was but it was full of a deep distinct flavor of mouthwatering meaty deliciousness. Not a light dish by any means however a quality example of Shepherd's Pie. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking to try something different as the menu is full of fun items. As always people SYOY!!!
