Bar with lots of tvs and sofa seating
    Bonnie W.

The Pony Express is hidden in the Bolger conferwnce center behind the reception area. Its huge with a great patio (with fire pit). They keep adding tvs to watch every game from sofa, the large bar or tables. Food is ok bar food including flatbread and burgers. The best part is happy hour 4-7 and game days where huge draft beers are $4 as are bar drinks. Perfect to sit outside with friends or waych multiple games. Kids welcome & free parking. Very friendly staff.

The Pony Express is the only game in town for pool. The bartenders are good people. The food is good but pricey.

After taking my wife here for her birthday, I decided to come back and see if the experience would…read morebe just as good--or perhaps even better--than our first visit. Service got off to a slow start this time. It took long enough that my daughter eventually got up to find our server so we could get water. There was also some initial confusion about how we wanted the check split, but once that was sorted out, our server was attentive, friendly, and did an excellent job. We have no complaints about the service after that point. We ordered several of the same appetizers as our previous visit: the Artichoke & Spinach Dip and the Crispy Thai Brussels. We also tried the Crabby Fries, which weren't on the menu during our last visit. All three appetizers were fantastic and just as memorable as before. Three of us ordered drinks. I had a Bloody Mary, and while it wasn't quite as impressive as the one I had during my previous visit, it was still enjoyable. As for the food, I'll start with the few disappointments. My wife ordered a fish dish and upgraded to the crispy potatoes, which are excellent when prepared properly. Unfortunately, the fish was placed directly on top of the potatoes, leaving them soggy rather than crispy by the time the dish reached the table. That was especially disappointing considering the additional charge for the upgrade. On our last visit, two Steak Frites orders were overcooked. This time, my daughter ordered the same dish and requested medium-rare, assuming it might come out a little over. Instead, it arrived rare. Fortunately, she was fine with it. My parents both ordered the Black & Bleu Penne, and while the filet tips in both dishes were overcooked, they remained surprisingly juicy. Another member of our party ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and was disappointed by the soggy bread and somewhat lackluster flavor. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, and it was very good. It wasn't a traditional Chicken Marsala as I'm accustomed to, but it was flavorful, unique, and ultimately satisfying. After two visits, here's my overall impression: the service has been consistently good, though not exceptional. The flavors, however, have been outstanding every time. The kitchen clearly knows how to develop great flavors, and that consistency keeps us coming back. If you're ordering a steak dish, just be aware that the final temperature may not always be exactly as requested. That said, we've visited with large groups both times--eight people on our first visit and seven on our second--so it's possible some dishes spend extra time waiting in the window while the rest of the order is completed. Overall, this is a solid 4.5-star restaurant in our opinion. Unfortunately, Yelp doesn't allow half-star ratings, so I'm giving it 4 stars. Despite a few execution issues, the food quality and flavor are strong enough that we'd gladly return again.

It's gorgeous and huge with large umbrellas at each table to keep out the direct sun. Hasina (manager) actually waited on us and she was wonderful as well. I got the Lobster Salad with the citrus vinaigrette dressing - it was the best lobster salad. My Mom had the Lobster Roll that came with house made potato chips and I tasted both and they were both wonderful. For dessert we split the chocolate mousse cake and it was the best we have ever had and came with a toffee crunch crust on one side. The ambiance was perfect, all the waitstaff (and there are plenty) were super attentive and so pleasant. The food was spectacular. We will be back in the fall when they change to their fall/winter menu and decorate the patio with pumpkins and turn the water fountain into a fire pit!

We were looking for a quiet setting without too much disruption and nice ambience plus good food. Unfortunately this place missed on all attempts I really love the outdoor seating arrangements with the fire pits lights and parking space I think this is a great place to grab a drink and chit chat in the summer but aside from this I wouldn't be in a hurry to come back I ended up coming for dinner and it's very small on the inside with no more than 10 tables. We sat at a small table near the bar because that is one of the seats they had available. Their menu is not very expansive Here's what we ended up getting in an attempt to try a few different things The mushroom risotto was tasty The ribeye steak was horrible. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was pretty bloody and rare. My friend doesn't mind it and I don't send back food so I couldn't eat it at all but honestly seeing something that bloody grossed me out totally. They also brought the ribeye which was full of fat and not a good cut of meat for the price they're asking for in both of our opinions with two starch dishes one which mashed potato and the other one was sweet potato and other root vegetables cut up. There was no option to ask for a different side. Dessert was lemon ricotta cake which honestly was kind of a bummer because it was sugary frosting that I could get at a Costco bakery The inside setting has a fireplace which is nice. One of the things that was a little bit different about our evening is the local patron who was there was a bit loaded and kept at our table we were trying to be polite about it but her husband didn't call her back and neither did the wait staff the wait staff did their best to get us distracted enough to move but the seat that they put us in was closer to the door and rather cold. I also got the impression that they were hoping to close up shop because the end dinner service at 9:00 p.m. and I had a seats in at around 7:45. I think the price is rather high given the quality of the food and not worthwhile. The only thing that I really did like about this place was the outdoor ambience so I might be inclined to come here with a group in the summer to sit by the fire pit chill out and hang and drink. Aside from that I'm not really loving the vibe of this place Plenty of parking in a private lot which is free. It's in a foresty part of Potomac if you like that kind of thing this will be a nice getaway not too far from the city.

Fortunately for us, the food was pretty much of the same high caliber as the food from the Pisco Y Nazca location in DC. For our dining pleasure, we went with our favorite dishes and beverages - Ají de Gallina, the Callejero ceviche, and of course a few pisco sours. Although some might consider the prices on paper to be high, I think the prices are fair in terms of portion sizes and quality of the food. Overall, I thought the service was fine. However, I was a little annoyed that we learned about the prix fixe brunch, which includes three courses for $34, after we placed our orders and started eating. While eating, I noticed that other folks at the bar where ordering from a different menu, and the server let me know that they were ordering from the brunch menu. So, I'm thinking that the other bartender forgot to give us both the brunch menu and regular menu when we sat down. Regarding parking, I do not think the restaurant has its own parking, but there is street parking and plenty of parking garages in the area. If you are not familiar with the area, you may want to look up some garages before heading out because the prices can range from a couple of bucks per hour to $7+ per hour. I have a feeling that we'll return to this location - mainly as a way to avoid dealing with the rigamarole of commuting to DC and dealing with DC-related traffic and shenanigans.

It's a nice atmosphere, not too stuffy but elegant enough for a nice dinner. The drinks are good, well mixed, and nice options whether you drink wine, beer, cocktails, or non-alcoholic options. The food, however, is very mediocre. They started with an amuse-bouche that was a fruit tart with cheese. Nice, light, and well balanced. We ordered the tuna tartare, along side a Japanese sweet potato dish and a salmon tartare that were both specials. The tartares were fine. Something you would get anywhere. The presentation was nice but their crisp or cracker was kind of useless as it doesn't have the structural strength to use as a vessel to eat the fish. The sweet potato was probably the best in terms of flavor albeit very rich. The main course is well things really fell apart. The beef dishes people ordered were either under cooked or over cooked. I got the grilled prawns which were limp and mushy. The veggies were underseasoned. The braised beef was small. I think everyone was underwhelmed with the main course. It's fine as a after work dinner spot but if you care about food, there are better options nearby.

I made a reservation for 4 at 5 PM through Resy -- for some reason it did not display any reservations for groups larger than 4 -- then called to up it to 5, which the restauranteur was perfectly happy to do. THEN we found out that the music is on the pub side of the business, you can't necessarily hear the jazz from the restautant, that the pub does not take reservations, and that the jazz is popular enough that the pub is often full. So, we went at 4, and on arrival told the maitre d'; that we were in the pub rather than the restaurant. And he was cool with that. The pub was half full when we arrived but by the time the musicians started, it was full, standing room only, We ordered drinks, very modest beer list, and eventually food. I had a shepherd's pie, which was fine. Others were happy with their dishes. The music was OK, really nothing to write home about. Fairly low volume, a drummer, stand-up bass, and electronic keyboard. Audience was enthusiastic, applauding the fairly brief solos. Certainly too soft to be heard in the restaurant. Glad we tried it, but not confident we will be back

The biergarten has ample canopy seating with long benches and tabletops, perfect for groups! You can't make reservations. They have a strict policy of no outside food or drinks. The ambiance is very casual and there's no table service. Rather than ordering through a QR code, place your order at the bar and then you'll get a text alert when the food is ready for pick-up at the long table closest to the bar. The line is always pretty short and you can get a drink within 5-10 min, the food takes longer and even up to 1/2 hour for fries. I would stick to the beer on draft, the cocktails can be hit/miss depending on the bartender, the draft drinks tend to have better consistency. The Wildberry Mule cocktail and Pina Colada Sangria and Peach Seltzer on draft were my picks while the Bourbon Smash, Passionfruit Mojito, Pina Colada Mojito, and the Passionfruit Seltzer were misses. On the flip side, the bartenders poured a generous amount of Prosecco for Mimosas, much appreciated! The bottled Angry Orchard apple cider is generally my go-to. There's always a mocktail on the menu (came in handy when I was pregnant!) The new battered fries are so much better than last year! The menu is limited with simple bar food (bbq pulled pork sandwich, burger, grilled cheese, hot dog, fries, kettle chips). Wish there were more vegetarian options like charcuterie board, hummus and crackers, nachos, mac and cheese, etc. While I give credit for having a Veggie Burger on the menu, it's sad and disappointing. It has a very smoky meaty flavor (from the grill, not the patty) with lackluster toppings - the vegan cheese is disgusting. I would swap out the kettle chips and pay the upcharge for fries. The doughy pretzel sticks are quite salty and a step up from the movie theater. They are good for absorbing the alcohol! Despite these minor complaints, I love coming here with family and fries.
