Great service from Mario at the bar. Wonderful staff. Pleasant environment. Food was fresh and hot. No complaints will be back

This was our first visit here. On initial look of the menu, there was many items we would like to try in future visit. However, after our visit, I don't think we will be returning. The lack of service just was not acceptable. Bartender was our server. She was not pleasant at all. It was not very busy at all. Food arrived and we had to go to the bar to ask for utensils. We were never given any plates to eat our appetizers. We ordered Cajun Crab Bisque. It had an odd flavor. The crab dip was ok; although the pita chips were good but oily. The crispy wings (garlic habanero) were good but wish they were crisper. A soft drink and iced tea were $5.50 each. I didn't care for the tea flavor so asked for a club soda for the next one, got charged another $4.00. I am just surprised how expensive a soda was. Soda was never listed on the menu but never thought it would've been $5.50. Underwhelmed.

The Grove is an excellent choice for brunch - they have happy hour every day even on weekends! This place is not only really beautiful, but the food is actually very delicious. I really enjoyed my birthday celebration here. They also have great customer service and we get a lot of food for how much you pay check them out!

Came for lunch. This is to the far right of the Giant, in the back. Parking is limited around the restaurant, i'd recommend just finding parking in the main big parking lot and walking over. Beautiful, clean, area. I had the Blossom burger. HUGE! lol with plenty of shoe string fries. I barely ate half of it- it was just okay. Shoe string fries were a little too oily for me My team all had the Turkey sandwhich. HUGE too :) they thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow. There was maybe 2 tables in the restaurant at the time of our meet up

Hidden gem in a very convenient location- Cabin John Mall! The decor is very beautiful- feels like a nice sit-down experience without being too expensive. They also have many healthy-ish and vegetarian options, and they were very accommodating of requests. We came for lunch, and they only had the brunch menu out but they let us order off the main one. Would definitely come back, especially for lunch!

Great ambience. Food was good. Service was good no complaints. I came right around the ending of brunch and it looked like there was a DJ for brunch. Sounds fun for a group of people. Would go back.

I waited until Valentine's Day to visit this romantically decorated restaurant with flowers hanging from the ceiling and large murals depicting floral blooms. They had a special Valentine's Day menu featuring a 3 or 4 course option. I would have liked to try the special menu but we ended up choosing entrees from the regular menu. We started with the famous ferris wheel of fries. The fries were supposed to be flavored with Old Bay, salt and vinegar, cajun, classic, black garlic parmesan, and dry jerk. We were able to quickly distinguish the Old Bay and parmesan fries but the others were pretty plain. We did enjoy the three sauces that came with the fries. The spicy basil sauce was very faint in spice which we liked. The aioli was our favorite in which we got another sampling to finish up the fries. For our entrees we got the reuben sandwich with mash potatoes and the branzino. I normally opt for salmon whenever it's on the menu but decided I would try the branzino for the first time. It is a thin fish with a crispy seared skin. The sauce with shitake mushrooms and cherry tomatoes was a nice complement. I have to admit I thought the pureed peas took away from the dish. I felt like I was eating baby food. I would have been happy with just regular peas. Service was excellent. Parking lot was a bit busy for Friday night but there are spaces. You just have to walk a bit from the Giant supermarket.

This is a classic case of I should have listened to the reviews but I didn't. I'll start with the positives of our brunch: Our server Paul was AMAZING! The ambiance was great with the wall art and flowers Sadly that's about all that was positive :( The majority of the food was terrible. The "pigs in a blanket" style appetizer was wrapped in deep fried filo dough which sounds yummy except the dough was undercooked and saturated with oil as they didn't let it drain long enough before plating. The cheese grits had zero cheese flavor or consistency and were dry. The "bacon funnel sticks" were dry and tasteless and I'm not quite sure what had to be done in order to make bacon tasteless. The drinks sounded great on the menu but literally looked and tasted like a college student mixed them in their dorm. Brunch in the DMV is a big thing and sadly The Grove didn't measure up in the least bit.

I first learned about The Grove after seeing Instagram videos of their specials. One thing that stood out was the Wednesday prime rib deal. So we came here one Wednesday evening and when we arrived it wasn't too busy. It was actually pretty quiet inside. The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful, its filled with flowers and has clean esthetic. We ordered the 16 oz prime rib and the real reuben sandwich. The prime rib was decent, cooked to a medium temperature which we both liked. I think it could've used a little more flavor or au jus. I wasn't sure if there were sides included, but it would be nice to have that to pair with the meat. Felt a little odd to just eat the prime rib without sides. Glad we also order the real reuben. The sandwich was tasty. It was on the greasier end, but the pastrami was full of flavor and balanced well with the sauerkraut and Russian dressing. The rye bread paired well because it perfectly balances the saltiness of the pastrami. The service was okay. I noticed there was only one server for the whole restaurant and she disappeared a few times when we wanted to get our water refilled. Overall, not a bad experience and while the meal was enjoyable, some dishes could benefit from adjustments in flavor, or preparation to enhance the overall taste and quality. I believe with a few refinements, The Grove could provide an even more memorable dining experience.

The grove is a very pretty establishment with a great bar and happy hour. Me and the hubby are on a happy hour tour and this jewel is in our backyard and it we were so happy we did. Drink options including a signature old fashion and blood orange margarita were a great way to kick off a great evening. Enough food options to leave full and the service was pleasant with great music. It's not super loud so you can have a great conversation while chowing down on honey old bay wings. We'll be back for sure

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and it was a lovely experience. I was seated 10 minutes before happy hour ended and I was able to order a drink and appetizer on special !! The decor, food and service were very nice! Our table had the honey old bay wings and they were delicious. Sometimes old bay can be a little salty in my opinion but, not these wings!! In addition, I had a crabcake sandwich with aiol which was also delicious and a nice size.

Was disappointed The Grove transitioned from an upscale Mediterranean restaurant to an American bar and grill and sounds like the shift has sparked mixed reactions among customers. The spot replaced Lahinch Bar & Grill and now it's not bringing anything special to draw people to the back corner of Cabin John Center. It was pretty empty on a Friday night. There is ample free parking at the main shopping center and a few around the back by the "main entrance". The layout and seating process was ridiculous. Entering from the side entrance closest to the main shopping center parking, I was told to walk across to the host stand by the main entrance around the back, only to be seated near the side entrance again. The place was nearly empty, they should just have two host stands or have the waitress seat me first and ask the hostess to bring the menus later. Also we didn't realize we stayed past closing for 25 mins (closing at 10pm on a Friday night for a "bar" isn't a good sign either) but as we thanked the workers on our way out, we saw someone say "thank you FINALLY" - if they checked in and reminded us of the time, we would've left sooner! The recent shift to an American bar and grill has led to a more conventional menu and I understand the business decision to shift to a more affordable concept based on some reviews, but the food was subpar. Ambiance was nice and I'll give it a 4, service was a 2, but food was also a 2 unfortunately based on value (taste vs cost) - see photo captions for review. Doubt this concept would work either, but the decor reminds me of many Asian spots, so I would recommend Vietnamese fusion since there's already a Thai and Japanese spot in this shopping center.

Dear Management, I…read moream writing to share my family's experience during our Father's Day visit to your restaurant. Unfortunately, what should have been a special celebration turned into a very disappointing experience due to the service we received upon arrival. We had a reservation for 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, the gentleman at the host stand was not welcoming or friendly. He simply told us to "step to the side" and that someone would assist us in a few minutes. As the minutes passed, we continued to wait without any communication. During that time, a white family of five walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. At that point, I approached the host stand to ask what had happened and why we had not been seated despite having a reservation. The host searched for our reservation, asked what time it was scheduled for, and then casually stated, "I think someone stole your table." I was shocked by this response. I asked how that could happen if he was responsible for managing the seating. He had no explanation and, more importantly, never offered an apology for the mistake or the inconvenience. A manager later came over and asked what had happened. After I explained the situation, he appeared genuinely surprised and concerned by what had occurred. Once we were finally seated, our server acknowledged the delay and kindly offered us an appetizer because of the long wait at the front. We appreciated that gesture, but it did not change how unwelcome we had been made to feel upon arrival. I am writing this letter not because I am looking for compensation or anything in return. My purpose is simply to ensure that no other family has a similar experience, especially on a day meant to celebrate loved ones. Every guest deserves to be treated with fairness, courtesy, and respect. A sincere apology from the host at the time of the incident would have gone a long way. I hope you will use this feedback as an opportunity to coach your front-of-house staff on the importance of customer service, communication, and accountability. Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. Sincerely, Ms. Deas

The group was given a choice of appetizers: meatballs, basil and tomato caprese salad, dinner salad, or garlic bread. Each of the appetizers were better than the next. The girls shared the meatballs, garlic bread, and caprese salad. Thank you to our server for bringing out gluten free bread for one of our guests with a gluten allergy. Our main dishes was the shrimp scampi, which was full of flavor and so tasty. There were several of us who ordered the shrimp scampi and you could hear a chorus of oohs and aah's. We loved every bite. I am pleased to share that Caruso's has gluten free pasta for guests with gluten allergies. And, the gluten free pasta was scrumptious. The birthday girl had chicken parmigiana and a side of spaghetti. She really enjoyed her meal. Another, guest had the penne pasta and she loved hers too. There portions were very generous. We also had a guest order the Caesar salad with shrimp. It came out with dressing, when the dressing was supposed to be on the side, but our waiter was quick to remedy that. The ambiance is lovely and reminds me of my grandmother's home in Little Italy. It is old world Italian with comfortable seating. I know it was a busy night, but the one fly in our ointment was our server. There was too much of a lag between courses, and main dishes came out of the kitchen at different times. Also, our gluten free guest had to sit and watch while others ate cake because her ice cream sundae was no where to be found. It finally made it to the table, but I felt badly for this young lady. I know our server was swamped with guests. Hopefully, next time a large party is on the schedule, they can lighten the load for that server. All of the girls had a good time including the birthday girl. So, I am reminded of the saying, it all works out in the end. Thank you, Caruso's.

We also had a super senior with us, so getting everyone seated took a little extra time, and we were finally settled by about 10:15. From there, things went downhill service-wise. We waited and waited for a server and had to ask multiple employees walking by if someone could help us. Finally, around 10:50, Giovanni came to take our order. While he was taking it, another customer interrupted him to complain that although she had received her food, her children still hadn't gotten their drinks. He attempted to assist her, and we expressed our frustration at being interrupted after already waiting so long. To his credit, he asked someone else to help her. The restaurant itself has a cozy layout with several different sections, and I really wanted to like the place since I pass it often but had never stopped in before. Because it was Mother's Day, we tried not to let the delays ruin our time together, but the service was honestly unacceptable for such a special occasion. As for the food: - Shrimp & grits (2 orders): 4/5 The flavor was very good, the grits were creamy, and the turkey sausage added a nice touch. My only complaint was that some ingredients were chopped so finely that there wasn't much texture or bite. The shrimp was good/whole though. - Catfish & grits (3 orders plus an extra side of grits): 3/5 You get two large pieces of fish, which was appreciated, especially for bigger appetites. However, one person felt the batter was overly seasoned and too salty. - Chicken & waffles (2 orders): 4/5 Generous portions with four pieces of boneless chicken and four waffle sections. Definitely satisfying. We also ordered a pizza, mini sliders, biscuits, four adult beverages, and a hot tea. The total bill came to around $350 with the automatic gratuity included for a large party, which was actually reasonable for everything ordered. Overall, the food had some bright spots, but the extremely poor service overshadowed the experience. Being busy on Mother's Day is understandable, especially for a restaurant that has been around for a long time, but special occasions are exactly when service should be at its best. Sadly, we left totally disappointed. Overall rating: 2.5/5. Decent food and atmosphere couldn't make up for the long waits and poor service experience on Mother's Day.

My gift/credit card HAD been charged, however. I called the store from the parking lot and after a long wait the phone was answered and I explained the situation. The woman who answered said she would fetch the manager to help me and would check the kitchen to see if they had the order......20 minutes passed without either happening {meanwhile I am sitting in the parking lot like a fool, with my dog in the car, unable to go in due to the intense heat). The woman who had answered finally came back and assured me her GM would call me back in less than 5 minutes and hung up. Of course, that never happened and idiot me, I waited ANOTHER 20 minutes in the hopes theyactually meant it!!! [Yes, fool me once, etc applies here]. I called my family to say I was giving up and leaving, but I checked the app one more time before leaving and my free birthday slice was gone from my account, so something certainly happened with the order if my card was debited AND the free slice disappeared. Best of all, on the way home I tried to call again so as not to end up losing $45 and my free slice for zero result/food, and I was told the GM "was too busy to speak to me and would call me back later".....which of course means NEVER, after I (stupidly) wasted ~2 hours waiting for them to fix this problem while sitting right outside their door. So, this experience was even more disheartening. Today, I found out that we were overcharged for two of our meals. I called and asked to speak to the manager, but he wasn't in. This is our nightmare lunch. First, we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. When, our waitress was about to disappear again, I asked her to take our order. My granddaughter has severe food allergies and is diabetic. So, we had to order special items. Normally, Clyde's is very good about honoring special needs with food preparation. We waited 30- 45 minutes for our meal and then, we were told that they were out of my granddaughter's birria tacos. If they didn't have her food, we should have been alerted 5 minutes after we ordered, not 35 minutes later. So, my granddaughter ordered wings. We had ordered French fries as an appetizer and they never made it to the table either. So,after asking for a 3rd time they finally put our order of French fries into the kitchen. That took additional time, but finally made it to the table. They were delicious! It took another half hour for our food to come out. At that point, we had been waiting for an hour and a half for lunch. The salads and my granddaughter's wings were mediocre at best. But, I was charged an additional $13 to add chicken to a Caesar salad. But, two hours for lunch, being overcharged and extremely bad service.... This is not the Clyde's I am used to and have written previous glowing reviews. I hope the management sees this review and takes steps to correct the problems. Especially, the server who was not trained and did not do her job properly. I am so disappointed!
