Tasty BBQ Meatloaf! Recently in the mood for comfort food. Not Your Average Joe-Bethesda-Good Call! My friend/I scored a booth in the bar. Server arrived promptly explained the specialty cocktails w/great enthusiasm. I tried the "Berry Me" Strawberry Sangria. Fresh fruity strawberry flavor-strong drink. Warm flavorful focaccia bread w/spicy/garlic/parmesan cheese forward olive oil. We ordered the "Barbecue Meatloaf" topped w/crispy fried onion strings, sides: mashed potatoes & glazed carrots. Tasty meal/Generous portions. Friendly courteous customer service. See Photos!

We had a good walk in brunch experience on a Saturday! Breakfast burrito was excellent but the chicken for the chicken in waffles was definitely dry. The garlic oil for the bread appetizer was a little unbalanced as well. Overall we had good, attentive service and it's a standard American restaurant. If you're in the area, it's not a bad spot to try but not somewhere to rush to add to your dc eating bucket list.

Came for Happy Hour and it was amazing! I got a few drinks and got a few happy hour apps and they were so yummy! Our servers name is Dakota and he was absolutely amazing and funny! The environment was great- they had a nice bar with booth seating surrounding the area. Dimly lit. Nice hangout spot!

Stopped in on a whim after taking care of some errands nearby--I'm always up for trying something new, and this place seemed promising after a quick look online. From the outside, it looked like we were in for a good experience, even though it was still early, just before lunch. We were welcomed right away by a friendly host who seated us in the bar area. He mentioned there was a specials menu for the month, and when we didn't have one at the table, he quickly brought it over and walked us through the options before returning to his station. From our spot, I noticed a full bar, a pizza oven, happy hour menu with tons of options, and lots of seating. The bartender came by soon after to take our drink order and happily answered questions about the menu. I ordered my go-to Appletini with cherries, and was thrilled when he brought extra cherries just like I asked. It was delicious--refreshing without being too heavy on the vodka. Like the host, he was also kind and attentive. Someone who seemed to be the manager stopped by briefly as well and was equally pleasant. We started with the bang bang shrimp appetizer. It wasn't quite like what I've had at other places, but it was still decent--I liked the unique touch of the seaweed and sesame seed garnish. My husband got the pulled pork mac and cheese, and I tried the mustard chicken pizza. While I appreciated the flavors, I wasn't a fan of the focaccia-style crust. I ended up picking off the chicken and enjoying it with the sauce instead. Overall, I left satisfied and would definitely come back, just to try something else on the menu.

Who doesn't look for comfort when the weather forecast is dismal? So, I decided to pick up dinner at Not Your Average Joe's. They have a great selection of meals to go, from their mustard chicken, to Caesar salads, to burgers and more. The front desk was very nice and helpful. It has a great vibe with the lights, large bar area with large tv screens, the comfortable booths and twinkle fairy lights are all really lovely. Kudos to the manager for throwing in this delicious focaccia bread and oil and cheese dip. The bread was tasty and freshly made. The olive oil, cheese, and peppers complimented nicely. I ordered the Caesar salad with steak tips. Usually, when I eat there the salads are gigantic. This one was very filling and delicious. The steak tips were a bit past medium, but they were tender and well seasoned. I had plenty left for another meal. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely go back. Not Your Average Joe's is not average at all.

$17 dollars for 1 goat cheese ball and lettuce is just ridiculous. Don't waste your money.

17 dollars just to have 1 goat cheese ball on the salad. Ridiculous. Waste of money. It used to be so much better.

It was good. The place was clean and the service was good. It was actually nicer than I expected. My kid got a large pizza. It was fine. Seemed like a basic typical pizza. I got the spinach and feta omelette with home fries. It was good as well. It was a little on the BBC side, but I enjoyed it. My kid did get an Arnold Palmer drink and I was a bit surprised that it was six dollars. Pretty steep for iced tea and lemonade.

Went by for lunch during a Sunday in the fall. Clean spot with a few TVs to watch a few games at the bar. I saw some negative feedback on the service. I thought it was good especially considering there was 1 person working the bar and servicing most of the tables. Good diverse menu for food and cocktails. I started with the bang bang shrimp, the flavors were good it could have used a little more heat. I had the fish and chips for the main course. Feedback for the fry cook on the fish and shrimp -- the fry was done very nicely. Crisp and moist fish and shrimp. Good experience

We stumbled upon this restaurant when we were passing through. It was such a pleasant surprise because we arrived in time for happy hour. We sat at the bar and enjoyed happy hour deals, food and drinks. The bar staff was attentive and their service was great. The restaurant has fun bar decor and plenty of seating . If I'm in the area, I will definitely go back because the food and drinks were all delicious and well prepared.

Surprisingly this was my first time here. Had a pretty solid experience. The staff were friendly and the food came out quick and was hot. I got the vodka pasta I believe with chicken but next time I will opt to not have the chicken on it or switch to shrimp as I feel like the chicken did not add much additional flavor. The dumplings were warm and tasty and finished the meal off with their cookie which was nicely priced, a large portion and very delicious!

Unfortunately, what should have been a special celebration turned into a very disappointing experience due to the service we received upon arrival. We had a reservation for 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, the gentleman at the host stand was not welcoming or friendly. He simply told us to "step to the side" and that someone would assist us in a few minutes. As the minutes passed, we continued to wait without any communication. During that time, a white family of five walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. At that point, I approached the host stand to ask what had happened and why we had not been seated despite having a reservation. The host searched for our reservation, asked what time it was scheduled for, and then casually stated, "I think someone stole your table." I was shocked by this response. I asked how that could happen if he was responsible for managing the seating. He had no explanation and, more importantly, never offered an apology for the mistake or the inconvenience. A manager later came over and asked what had happened. After I explained the situation, he appeared genuinely surprised and concerned by what had occurred. Once we were finally seated, our server acknowledged the delay and kindly offered us an appetizer because of the long wait at the front. We appreciated that gesture, but it did not change how unwelcome we had been made to feel upon arrival. I am writing this letter not because I am looking for compensation or anything in return. My purpose is simply to ensure that no other family has a similar experience, especially on a day meant to celebrate loved ones. Every guest deserves to be treated with fairness, courtesy, and respect. A sincere apology from the host at the time of the incident would have gone a long way. I hope you will use this feedback as an opportunity to coach your front-of-house staff on the importance of customer service, communication, and accountability. Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. Sincerely, Ms. Deas

My girlfriend enjoyed her Clyde's Chili, mashed potatoes and broccolini, as well as her key lime pie with raspberry dessert. This was one of my all-time favorite meals. The chicken liver with cranberry compote is swoon-worthy. Absolutely remarkable. My Maryland-Style Crisfield Stew was exceptional. Loaded with seafood (mussels, fish, crab, and more) in tomato-based broth that was slightly spicy but not acidic. Everything in the dish was tender and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and welcoming. My girlfriend and I sat in a booth across from the bar. My dirty martini with blue cheese olives was excellent and it was difficult to not simply down the drink. We wanted to start with an appetizer but decided to hold out for dessert -- this time. My girlfriend had a well-done cheeseburger with their house made cole slaw that she loved. I had a small bite and it was fantastic. I have had blackened Ahi tuna in a number of fine restaurants, but this was the best by far. The tenderness of the tuna and its flavor was fantastic. The cole slaw is delicious and the tasty jasmine rice had been cooked perfectly. What we noticed most was the tremendous balance of flavors. They were distinct yet one element of the meal complemented another perfectly on the same plate. Their Reese's and chocolate cookie with vanilla was wonderful. It was refreshing and not overly sweet. A breakfast burrito shouldn't take an hour to be made and the beauty of an open kitchen is that you can literally see the moment the chefs realize there's an empty spot on their griddle where a burrito should have been. I'm giving three stars because of the fact that the staff were probably exhausted from a brunch party that was ending; but what happened to the good ol days where bar staff were attentive and offered assurance rather than essentially ignoring our existence until we reminded them that we're not just keeping the seat warm while watching ice melt in our expensive drinks. The kicker... The burrito wasn't even hot when it arrived! The more I think about it, the more upsetting it is because I hate giving bad reviews. After second thought, I'm giving it two stars for the lack of accountability, service, and quality of food. We've gotten better service from plenty of places that were way more crowded and busy.

Dark wood paneling and low lights, hushed tones, and a clientele in their golden years. This is not a bad thing. I will take it over techno-boom dining any day of the week. The food is pretty good. As an appetizer, we ordered the grilled artichokes with lemon hummus, a nice idea and satisfactory in its execution. For our main course we shared the seared tuna salad (which they helpfully served on two plates), and added a grilled lobster tail for each of us. The lobster was the belle of the ball - fantastically prepared and beautifully complemented by the crisp white wine I had ordered. That made up for the disappointment of the tuna, which was tasteless, and the salad, which was miserably over-dressed. If ordering salad, I strongly suggest asking for the dressing on the side. We ended with the flight of desserts. These were okay, but not so great that we needed six of them! One per person is more than enough, or just skip dessert here altogether. As for the service - our waitron did not seem to enjoy working here and was a bit surly. We had to hunt her down when we wanted a second drink. Overall, this is not a bad choice if you are in the area and looking for a sedate vibe with hit-or-miss food and a good wine list.

The darkish steakhouse vibe of this restaurant hides some of the wear and tear of the space. I got the wood grilled tenderloin salad and the steak was cooked perfectly. The meat was very tender. The salad came with blue cheese and was a good compliment to the steak. My husband and I got the scallops as a side and they were delicious. Our food came out quickly and our server stopped by a few times to check in.
