A girlfriend and I popped into Courthaus Social for a couple sharables and drinks. We wanted to try "something different" from our normal. The drinks (not pictured) and the food did not disappoint. There is only one comment of disappointment. The bar and sitting areas were packed. There seemed to be only one bartender on shift, so getting help was on the slower side. Came here for lunch with coworkers and I found the food (at least what I ordered) to be really delicious. I have to assume this likely a German styled pub due to the name and some of the German based menu items. The ambiance reminds me of such. The staff was pretty fast and attentive. The French Dip Sandwich reminds so much of the Italian Combination Beef sandwich that is incredibly popular in the Chicago, IL area (or as some Chicago people say, "Combination Sandwich"). Even the Au Ju tastes similar to the gravy. The side Caesar salad kinda threw me off with the sun-dried tomatoes mixed in. Other than that, I would recommend this for those looking to get lunch. The food was flavorful -- the chicken sandwich was super filling (I could only finish half), and the Jambalaya was creamy, seasoned well, and definitely tasty. Just a heads-up, it's a pasta dish, not rice, but still really good. Service was okay -- nothing memorable. The food took a while to come out, but it's okay because the food was good, and I assume it's all made to order. The restaurant wasn't very busy at the time. Stopped in for a cold drink, and was surprised that every seat outdoors was taken, so we went inside and sat at the bar. Happily I was able to hang my handbag & charge my phone. There are 28 different beers on top with very clever names. We sampled different beers and I wanted something cold light refreshing and fruity. Came for trivia night, but honestly didn't think it was that great of a night. We were at the back bar and it was hard to hear the trivia host and it was done on an app instead of pen and paper. It didn't feel very collaborative since we only had the app on one person's phone so it was hard to share with our table of seven. We got a bunch of appetizers to share. They are so good that we usually end up ordering more than one round during happy hour. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. I have not tried much else on the menu because once we found the tenders, there was no going back. That said, there are a few other solid happy hour options, and it is definitely a great spot to meet up with friends or watch a game. There is plenty of seating and lots of TVs to catch whatever you are into. The staff is also fantastic. Every time we visit, whether it is day or night, the service is quick, kind, and efficient. The food was tasteless. It gave me Germany vibes as I assume that's what this place is going for. The beer selection could've been a bit more expansive. I came here with friends for happy hour after a midday movie around the corner. I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich that looked really good. The steak was just completely unseasoned. I feel like the didn't even drop a sprinkle of salt on it. The peppers seemed like they had all of the flavor cooked out of them that could have made up for the lackluster meat. I then tasted my friends chicken nachos to ensure that I didn't have COVID and was losing my taste. There seemed to be a bit of salt and pepper on the chicken and maybe splash of paprika or hint of seasoning salt. Nevertheless, I didn't need anymore of it in my life. The energy on the terrasse, outside of my friends and I, was pretty lifeless aside from the waitstaff joking amongst themselves and killing honeybees on the bar with the handheld card reader machines. We did our 22 year college reunion, how are we even that old?--at Courthaus Social in Arlington. The staff was very accommodating and handled it when we had to move inside. Total professionals. We had a blast here last night at trivia! It was five rounds of 11 questions and I loved how they covered many different topics. I also appreciated using a phone app to play, which definitely helped with hearing questions when the restaurant was packed and quite lively. For food, I got the blackened mahi-mahi and brussels sprouts. The mahi-mahi was scrumptious, tender and smoky from the grill. It was served over yummy cilantro rice and creamy/zesty lemon butter sauce. Needless to say, I wiped my plate clean! The brussels sprouts was also stellar - everything crispy in it from bacon to shallots to the actual brussel sprouts. It was served with bleu cheese, which rounded out the crispy heartiness with just the right amount of funk! We also sampled through a few of the delicious beers on tap from kolsches to sours. 3.5 stars - awesome and convenient location, decent selection of drinks, fair happy hour assortment Things I loved: The pulled pork tots and pretzels (especially the beer cheese, made in-house daily with the pilsner!). Reuben rolls were also a hit given the complexity of flavors packaged neatly in a wonton wrapper. Plus, the outdoor seating is great for parties large or small! Things I loved less: Banging shrimp - heavy on the cream (mayo?) and almost more sweet than spicy. A bit too sauce forward. The staff is super hit or miss. I've visited three times now and they're pretty attentive at the start and then go MIA when it's time for a second (or third) round. It's a bit of a letdown when you're in need of silverware, water, or simply more beer to enjoy with your pretzel and your host is nowhere to be seen... Something to work on! I rated that a 4 because when I approached the bar tender about the cups still having lipstick his response was "usually that's just water spots" We were seated next to a window that was behind the outside bar! They've got an extensive beer list, with lots of options to choose from. The food was also surprisingly good - I had the veggie kabob dish and found it to be really flavorful and well-prepared. Even the rice was cooked well, it went perfectly with the veggies and the sauces (hummus and a spicy house sauce).
