    Espresso martini

I would recommend their espresso martini but substitute the vodka for tequila. It was amazing! Emily was so personable to us! She gave great recommendations, we ended up getting the pastrami Benedict which was so unique and great! I loved their grits, so flavorful.

My friend and I do monthly happy hours, and this was our October spot! Very glad of the choice to come here and extra grateful for the parking lot lol The restaurant was decorated for Halloween, service was great and we had people checking on us all night. We only ordered drinks, crab dip and wings; simple orders but very delicious! I will definitely come back again!

We come here often and for good reason! We always see the same friendly faces between the staff and patrons. They're especially great with families--patient, upbeat, and on top of everything. It's one of those places that just gets it right. Highly recommend.

Go see Teresa and Nisha at the bar! I came in for a quick lunch and had an amazing Grilled chicken sandwich. The sauce on the side was so tasty and definitely homemade. I opted for tots instead of fries. So effing good. Service was fast and attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Came here for restaurant week and felt it was a good deal for 40 for three courses! We tried the bbq deviled eggs, the fried Mac and cheese, the salmon, and the steak frites. Then we both finished with the beignets--more donuts, but still delicious! The service was friendly and the atmosphere was quiet, but we were also here on a Monday so it could be different other days.

This is a place that excels a good chunk of their menu but remember it's a neighborhood bar so manage your expectations. What they do well: most of the breakfast items. The french toast is pretty good for the price and unlike a lot of places around, you actually get meat included as a side instead of ordering a la carte. The sandwiches are mid--you're not going to find the best sandwich of your life but you will find something tasty for an okay price. A burger and chicken sandwich are safe options, but I personally wouldn't do a deli-type sandwich as a native Philadelphian. Finally, the not-so-great. I wouldn't really get any of the salads since they're pricey and honestly just don't do much for me. If you're eating out with someone who needs healthier options, I would just take them somewhere else. All in all, a solid centerpiece for locals and their visitors.

The food and service was great. I got a special and paid $10 for a burger and fries. Not sure you can get that at fast food. It's a very casual spot with indoor and outdoor dining. Plenty to choose from on the menu and great drinks also.

It is Ground Hog Day. Having some drinks in this gin mill. If u like to enjoy an adult beverage after 9pm. Come on down. Not for the faint of heart. Music chilling. I have to say for all the cool cats; come n chill brothers n sisters.

really good brunch options! the fried oyster eggs Benedict was tasty but the salad on the same plate was bad plating. Peach cobbler pound cake was decadent and delicious! fried green tomatoes were fresh but portion too big for one person.

Stopped by on Saturday afternoon with the kiddos for a quick lunch. They were hungry and I wanted to try something new. I knew nothing about it but the reviews were decent and it was close. The vibes are live music (country/bluegrass-y) outside on the patio and sports bar when you first walk inside. Very English pub like with tall booths that lend privacy. We sat in an indoor dining section near the back. Our reception was lukewarm and chaotic. The host took a while to materialize, but there were like 40 people in the tiny bar area so he likely couldn't see us. Out waiter was ... having a less than ideal day. Either that or he was practicing for his next act as a French fine dining waiter. In any event, we ordered- all the kids decided to order the exact same thing, the flounder and I decided to try the honey jalapeño pulled chicken sandwich. The wait wasn't unbearable and the kids menu comes with crayons (a must). And plus the kids figured out that Northside stands for Canadian thanks to the Canadian flag on the coloring sheet! The flounder was well seasoned but we had to flag down someone else to find our server for tartar, hot sauce and the spicy aioli that was supposed to come with my sweet potato fries. After all was said and done, the kids wanted more flounder (the kids menu is 3-4 very small pieces). Again, finding our waiter and ordering four extra pieces. They were perfect and didn't take too long and the kids loved them. The honey jalapeño sandwich was ... okay. 8oz of chicken that needed salt and more seasonings (mild wasn't even descriptive enough for the jalapeño flavor, or lack thereof) and the ramekin of coleslaw barely moistened it enough to make it swallowable! Here's the thing, the concept was good, but, and hear me out here: season the chicken BEFORE you pull it too!!!!!! Yeah. The sweet potato waffle fries were good, if a bit greasy but it's fries. The jalapeño aioli also needed a punch of hot sauce but the mild flavor actually worked with the fries. We went to SweetFrog for dessert because the service we a bit slow even though we were one of only three tables in the entire back section lol. Won't be back, but we enjoyed it!

Jambalaya pasta, loaded tots, shrimp risotto

We walked over to Northside 10 after finding it on Google Maps. Bottom line is that it was fantastic! It is a great little tavern with a great vibe. The restaurant is separate from the bar area if you prefer a quieter environment. Their patio was also nice although it was too chilly for us to sit outside. I ordered the Shrimp risotto and it was delicious. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the risotto creamy. This is a beautiful dish that is truly a feast for the eyes. My husband ordered the Jambalaya Pasta and loaded tots, and his Jambalaya was also culinary perfection. My only complaint is that I would love to see a half-portion on the menu. I could only finish about half of mine. Don't miss this hidden gem.

When you walk in there's some booth and bar seating, but in the back they have a full covered tent and tons of benches. This time I came, there was also cornhole set up. You'd be surprised at some of the things they carry, like the shredder from the Veil, which is an amazing IPA or a 120 minute Dogfish head which according to my friend they don't produce a ton of so it's pretty rare how many places actually hold them. Lots of interesting beer to try and it's a very casual spot. Makes me feel like more of a local. The food prices have definitely got higher since I last came. They usually had really good sandwiches. I ordered the sweet potatoe fries which was $7 for a small tray size.

It's reliable bar items but after a while I got bored with the choices. I've had the salad be really good and then other times questionable. Stick with grilled cheese variations or chicken fingers. The management seems ever changing. They have a hard time keeping servers it feels like. Once you get to know someone it changes. Even the bartenders. I feel bad for them. You used to order from QR codes, then back to in person. Sometimes there is only 1 server for the whole place and they're running around like crazy. So keep that in mind if you're in a rush. It's a neighborhood place with 2 tvs, has trivia, back patio. If you bring your pup you have to walk around, not through the building FYI. The parking lot can get hectic. It's close to home/work so it's convenient.

For under $70 two people can have crab cakes benedict, fried brussels, crispy French toast... I don't even remember. Like ten different things! I didn't have to eat again until 9pm. The food was great! Vinny, who was our handler (clearly he has training in special education or something because we that table. Unfortunately, service started off on the wrong foot. There was a very large party already on the patio, and I was seated behind them. I waited about 12-15 minutes before the rest of my group arrived, but no server ever came by. We decided to head inside to get re‑seated, but couldn't find a hostess anywhere. We eventually flagged down a random server in the bar area and asked if a four‑top could be cleared so we could sit there instead. Thankfully, once we moved inside, everything improved dramatically. Service from that point on was attentive and friendly. The "Peoples Hour" menu was a highlight--great pricing without feeling "cheap." Appetizers were $6-10, cocktails $6-8, wines $6, and beers $6.50. The Down & Dirty (a vodka martini variation without vermouth) was solid, and the Out of the Office...Forever rum punch was decent. For food, we tried several items: - Makers Mini Nachos with steak -- Generous toppings but the chips got soggy quickly under all the queso, sour cream, and guac, which is not necessarily a bad thing. - Taco-bout Fish -- Crispy cod with a lemon aioli; one of the better bites of the night. - Drop It Like It's Hot -- Really good chicken tenders with a spicy Comeback sauce. - Lil B sliders -- Nicely cooked and not overdone; the Comeback sauce added a nice kick. The space has an upscale sports‑bar vibe with TVs above and around the bar. Seating can feel tight when it's busy, and the noise level definitely climbs, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. Despite the rocky start, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. Good food, great happy hour pricing, and solid service once we were settled inside. I'd return--just probably not to the patio during a big party.

At first, you'll see what looks like just a pizza shop -- but if you head in and either use the side door or walk through and climb a set of stairs, you'll find the speakeasy upstairs. Very cool vibe: dark, cozy, and date-night ready. Drinks: 4/5 I ordered their take on an Old Fashioned, and it was definitely the highlight of the night but sweeter than I would have liked. They served it over a stamped solid block of ice (a small detail I ). My friend was abstaining from alcohol that night and asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail. To our surprise, they didn't just hand her a lemonade like most places -- they actually made her a crafted virgin drink, which she loved. Food: 3/5 We ordered fries and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The fries turned out to be waffle fries (not mentioned on the menu) and were overly crispy, so not really our favorite. The pizza was fine -- clearly sourced from the shop downstairs -- but it leaned oily and didn't really wow us. Service: 5/5 Pretty standard -- nothing over the top, but not neglectful either. Drinks came out reasonably fast, food followed, and we were checked on enough without it feeling pushy. Vibes: 4/5 The speakeasy itself is definitely the selling point. Dark, intimate, and stylish -- you feel like you've found a little hidden spot. All in all, the cocktails are the reason to come, especially if you're into whiskey. The food was forgettable, but it's convenient that you can order pizza upstairs. We spent about $30-40 for drinks and snacks, which isn't shocking for Old Town. Would I go back? Maybe if I was already in the area, but for a dedicated whiskey night, I'd probably head somewhere else.
