Cheesecake
Jessica A.

Great spot in old town Alexandria! A friend and I visited during restaurant week. It was a nice day, so we sat outside. I sipped on my sparkling rose as I enjoyed the nice views of king street. My friend ended up ordering from the regular menu but I wanted to take advantage of the restaurant week full course option! The 3-course meal came with an appetizer, main entree, and dessert. For my appetizer I ordered the Cajun crab dip, which was good! It was very creamy, but I can't say it's distinct from other crab dips. For my entree I ordered the rigatoni pasta. I guess I was just in a creamy mode that day, but I loved the shrimp and chicken inside. It definitely added more flavor to the dish. And of course I went with the cheesecake for my dessert. It was very good, but again, not really distinct from any NY style cheesecake. We had a great waiter; she was very friendly. Service was good overall!

A nice restaurant and bar that sometimes have karaoke upstairs. They also do themes. Bar service was great and the food was fantastic. That banana old fashioned was amazing.

Great food and excellent service! Everything we ordered was flavorful and came out quickly, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The only downside is that street parking can be quite challenging on weekends, so give yourself a little extra time if you're driving. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

We stopped by on a Friday night and had a great time! I think our bartender was Chris, and he was really great! I didn't have any particular drinks in mind that I wanted, so the great bartender that he is, he asked me a couple questions and made me a drink that he thought I might like! He was right; I did enjoy my drink! A friend and I also ordered sweet potato fries to share; this was absolutely the move! The drinks and the snacks are fire! The vibes were quite chill! The staff were actually quite vigilant about spotting red flag behaviors without feeling so overbearing; I really appreciated that, especially as the night went on and patrons are drinking more and more. There are two floors where you can hang out. The upstairs has a handful of games with live entertainment and a bar. The downstairs is a bit more chill, and that's where we were pretty much the whole night. It was more our vibe for that night. We definitely enjoyed our time!

The Prime Rib is awesome on Tuesdays! Monday is Military and Karaoke. We had the fish and chips over cooked a LOT, but the fries were good! The service is hit and miss, but don't be in a hurry... it's a great place to people watch and relax and enjoy life and good food.

Soiled homeless male in reserved seating.

So I reserved a table at the place next to where I met my girlfriend and was instead seated next to a soiled homeless male. To say I was disgusted by the stench of urine and body odor is an understatement. I'm not sure how an establishment can allow this in a dining area. Safe to say I didn't stay for the band. Thank you for ruining my anniversary dinner.

The Light Horse has the best cocktails on King Street. I recommend getting there early on a Saturday evening (7 or 8) because there is a live band and you gotta see the band up close! The service was super fast even though it was very busy. Shoutout to Reyan, Chris and John downstairs.

I really loved stopping by here ! I came for trivia night with a party of 6 people total ; they have trivia every Wednesday upstairs. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with jalapeños and tomato added. It came with the option of French fries , sweet potato fries, or a salad. With the option of adding a soup as a side for an additional $2. I opted for the regular fries. When I got my crab cake it was so tasty!! I devoured it IMMEDIATELY because it was 9 pm and I haven't eaten in the last 9 hours lol. Besides the taste, it was certainly 70% filler . But honestly not mad because I paid $20, so, you get what you pay for. It's no jumbo lump crab cake but it's still tasty ! The fries were crispy and delicious. Just wish they added another ketchup for me. I would totally come back because our server was really nice and this place is very historical and cozy looking. Maybe for a date night next time!! Tip: keep in mind that they charge auto gratuity to large parties !

The first floor bar had cool vibes on a Saturday afternoon. Two big TVs and an extensive drink menu. Upstairs was closed for a private event but I recall it being on the louder side when it's open. Cuban sandwich had a nice kick to it and the bread was super soft. Side salad was bigger than expected. Burger was solid . Bartender was very attentive.

Roasted Beet Salad / mushrooms/ Hand Cut French Fries / Smoked Chicken Wings/ steak and soup

Continues to be my favorite wings. I love that they're smoked then grilled / not fried. They make their own Buffalo sauce and I always ask for extra on the side. Fries are always crispy and fresh. And they made me a fabulous French 75 with tequila. Service is always friendly and the decorations this spring are SPECTACULAR! Literally a must see insta-worthy set up! Just dinging a star because my blackened salmon wasn't quite blackened and felt too underdone / slightly fishy. Next time I'll ask for it to be well done.

Crème brulee

We went to Light Horse for restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised with the food! The stuffed mushrooms were filled with crab and the hush puppies had a yummy sauce on top. My fiancé got the steak which was cooked perfectly. I got the crab cake which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. For dessert, we enjoyed the cheesecake and crème brulee. Our wait to get a table on a Friday evening was quite long but the front desk kept giving us updates which we appreciated.

Excellent food and service in a great section of Old Town Alexandria. Tuesday night prime rib special for $20 is unbeatable!

This place always hits the spot. Ali chose this place to watch the commanders game and it was awesome. This is a Bills bar but don't let that deter you. All football fans are welcome. The appetizers were great. Do try their brisket grilled cheese.

Where is the best place to park on a Saturday night?

You could part anywhere on the street and take the free local buss. They come almost every ten minutes and you hop on and off.

Are you able to get the happy hour specials throughout the entire downstairs area or do you have to sit at the actual bar?

Oh are able to get the happy hour specials anywhere. In fact, the waiter asked and informed us about happy hour choices after we ordered something, he offered a cheaper alternative and explained that the difference, for example, was that the happy… Read more

Definitely make reservations before you go because this place gets packed! We ordered the chicken biscuit gravy with chorizo, and it was absolutely delicious. We also had the MMT Breakfast, which gave us a little sample of everything. The homemade biscuits were amazing, and the bacon was not that cheap, flimsy kind -- it was thick, flavorful, and so good that we added extra bacon. The price was just right, the ambiance was great, and even though parking can be a challenge, the staff was super helpful in telling us where we could park. It's also not far from DCA airport and close to other great restaurants and scenery. I hate that I forgot to take pictures of our meal, but we were so hungry and the food was too good to stop! We will definitely be back for brunch, and this is officially becoming a regular brunch spot for us. Cheers to next time!

We were seated inside, which had a decent amount of seating. I thought the restaurant was cute, and it had a nice ambience. We ordered several dishes, starting with the cajun crawfish Mac & cheese, crab stuffed oysters, and charred spring vegetables. All 3 starters were delicious, with my favorite being the crab stuffed oysters. The Mac & cheese was a close second - it was nicely seasoned and perfectly au dente. The vegetables were also very good, and the pita it came with was great. On the breakfast menu, we ordered the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. Both were very good. I haven't had many chicken and waffles, but the chicken was tasty with the hot honey. The shrimp and grits was very flavorful. If I had to pick one though, I would probably pick the shrimp and grits. The service was solid, she was very friendly and came back a decent number of times. I would 100% come back again!

Parked in the same spot as last time (garage located next door, Park Mobile pay). Our waitress, Nicki was amazing! She was very attentive and made sure our orders were placed quickly and our drinks were full. She also took note of food allergies and sensitivities, another plus. I ordered the same thing this time, "The Game Boy". I'm a real fan of the aioli spread. And my food came out hot!!!!My partner ordered the "Neo Geo Pocket", a fried chicken sandwich with toppings and a flavorful sweet and spicy Gochujang sauce. He loved the sauce and mentioned that it was very flavored well, the batter was crispy, and the bread was soft. I also tried the house lemonade. It was pretty good. The only thing that could've made it better was fresh lemon slices or some type of garnish. After we finished eating we purchased tokens and headed for the games. There was a good amount of people this time, but not as packed as it was last time. Perfect! I played Outrun 2, pinball, and one of the shooting games. Also got to check out the very back room where the Dance Revolution was located as well as a small deck with seating for about 10? Not sure if this area has to be reserved separately but with the nice weather coming up it would be great for a group. Thank you, Nicki, for the amazing service and thank you Continues for bringing back memories of those early 2000's Saturday nights as a teen! I'll definitely be back again! Tips: -Make reservations online through Resy. -Start with 10 tokens, most games are 1-2 tokens. -Nicki offers "Power-Up Yoga" on the patio some Sundays. I'm looking forward to checking this out. -They also offer breakfast. -Family friendly, but there is a bar.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it in time to try the food since the kitchen closes at 11 pm, but I did get to try some of their cocktails. My favorite was the Polybius -- sweet, fruity, and easy to enjoy while gaming. We went all out playing games until closing time and had a great time. The staff was also incredibly nice, which made the experience even better. My only small pet peeve is the early closing time -- when you're having fun, you definitely wish the night could go a little longer.

For one day every October, Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray shuts completely down to vehicle traffic and hundreds upon hundreds of artisans and artists descend with their white, pop-up tents. They come from as nearby as Alexandria to as far away as the Northeast and the Carolinas. They come bearing oil paintings, hand-crafted jewelry, hand-sewn clothing, pottery and vases and plates, lathe-turned bowls and objets d'art, garden ornaments, Christmas ornaments, baby clothes, decorative arts, handmade stationery....I could go on, and on, and on. And you could spend hours, and hours, and hours wandering up and down Mount Vernon eying the amazing wares on display. You can buy anything from a $5 birthday card to a $5,000 watercolor of Chincoteague. Every year I come, I drop way too much money -- but my home is now hung and decorated with so many beautiful, unique items that my guests ooh and ahh over...Where'd you find that beautiful pottery soap dispenser in the guest bath? Art on the Avenue. I'd love a photo triptych of the Lincoln Memorial like the one in your den, where'd you get it? Art on the Avenue. Where'd you score that hand-stitched quilt on your bed? Art on the Avenue. I'd say half my jewelry has been collected at Art on the Avenue over the years, and people are always commenting on the unique pieces I wear. Really, there's nothing AOTA CAN'T do! Adding to the sheer delight and enjoyment are the food vendors. Yes, when you have worked up a major appetite shopping -- or window shopping -- you can stop and grab a bite from the Los Tios, or Evening Star, or Bombay Curry booths. Or you can try BBQ. Or Chinese. Or Australian meat pies. Or frozen banana on a stick. You name it, AOTA most likely serves it. Did I mention the live entertainment, from singers, to the TC Williams Orchestra, to magicians? Yeah, there's that, too. AOTA is one of THE best ways I can think of to pass a weekend day. When the weather is nice, this place is a MOB SCENE of people, but well worth braving the crowd. When the weather isn't so nice this place is still a mob scene, but a bit less so. Hard to know what to wish for: the beautiful weather that makes AOTA that much more enjoyable to stroll, or the thinner crowd that makes AOTA that much more enjoyable to stroll...
