My family and I stopped by Rango's the other night for dinner. It was a busy night but the hostess was able to seat us in the bar area. The waitress was nice and efficient. Another food runner immediately brought us water and chips and salsa. The salsa tasted a little bland and felt like it was missing some salt or some other seasoning/ingredient. We ordered another round but it was about the same. The chips were great. The seafood enchiladas I ordered were flavorful and there was a great spread of guacamole, sour cream, beans and rice. The plates were served hot and the kitchen had the good come out quite quickly which was appreciated. We'll be back! read more

My wife and I came without a reservation for an early Saturday dinner (5:45pm) in April 2026. Rango's has a lot of pluses. First, it has a wide open space with a festive atmosphere and bright colors. Second, this place was hopping - lots of families enjoying a Tex-Mex meal. Third, free parking is available in the nearby garage across the street. Service was professional and attentive throughout the meal. My wife enjoyed the mixed tacos (which combines 3 different meats). But I found the Oaxacan tacos to be more bland than expected. The appetizer (fried yuca) was delightful with a nice mix of crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Overall, this is a festive Tex-Mex restaurant for families and small groups. The only downside is that prices are a little higher than you might expect for Tex-Mex but that is probably due to the Tysons Corner location. read more

To be honest my main complaint is that I don't live close enough to come here all the time. It was a Tuesday evening around like 5 and me and my friend decided we were going switch it up from our usual ayce sushi. I was thinking it had been awhile since we had Mexican food so I came to yelp for guidance. I found this place, and said let's go! Menu wise, it's very similar to Guapos. We started off with queso and guac ($12) and each got a 12oz red sangria ($12) The drink was actually a good strength, not watered down like some places are. We had the choice of white or yellow queso and went with white. They were both good and I feel the pricing was reasonable for the portion. The chips and salsa were good too, and they refilled our chips quickly when they ran out as well as our waters. I went with the combo platter with 3 items, beans, rice, pico, guac, and sour cream, and lettuce. ($20) I chose a chile relleno for an extra dollar, a chicken tamale, and a shredded beef enchilada. My friend went with the Rango salad with steak cooked medium. She also asked for extra avocado, a side of guac, and extra dressing on the side, which they happily accommodated all of. Everything was amazing. I was stuffed by the end, and this easily could've been two meals. I also tried some of the steak that came on her salad and I was blown away at how perfectly tender it was. Honestly the steak might have been the best part of the meal. Definitely will come back here if in the mood for Mexican food, and will have to try their desserts next time. Stopped by Rango's for Taco Tuesday with a coworker. I ordered the 12oz Passionfruit margarita on the rocks, which was good. We started with the tableside guacamole medium spice level, which was fresh and flavorful. I ended up getting the seafood chimichanga, and it was delicious and filling.... I came here Saturday night for my mom's birthday with my family. We will definitely be coming back! We got seated right away and were served three big bowls of chips with salsa and water came out without us even asking. Multiple waiters came by to refill our drinks many times throughout the night. Came here on a whim for lunch after shopping at the mall. There was plenty of seating available and we were able to get a table immediately. I liked that this place was very spacious. We ordered the Shredded Chicken Enchiladas which was really nice, I appreciated all the sides it came with! The Chicken Fajitas were also good, I definitely like their grilled chicken more. This was a solid dining experience. I came in and was instantly seated. There are lots of seating options inside and out. I ordered quickly and soon had chips, salsa, and a margarita on my table. Definitely make sure you have a reservation on the weekend if you come here! The portion sizes are very generous and overall the quality and taste was good. The waiters filled up our waters a lot and gave us refills on the chips and salsa which was nice. Just knocking off a star because the grilled chicken in the tortilla soup was a little dry and it took at least half an hour for the food to come out. We also told one of the waitresses it was our friend's birthday and she forgot about it so we were waiting for a while until we told another waiter for the celebratory waiters to come out. 1st and only visit to Rango's. My wife is Hispanic and knows Mexican food very well. The refried beans were soupy and flavorless. The rice was dry. We waited over 25 minutes for our food and when we received it, after having to ask for the waiter to check on our food, it had been left under a broiler and my wife's tacos-tortillas and meat were charred. My enchiladas were flavorless and had no red sauce. They brought extra sauce after requesting it and still no flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

It's the exact same as every other Mexican restaurant you've been to including the mass produced margarita, chips and salsa, typical menu fare in the typical combo offerings, and the birthday song to someone in the place every ten minutes. It's pretty pricey for what it is but that is a byproduct of its location. Some positives are that it has lots of seating so if you're there on a weekend and everywhere has a two hour wait you can still come here. The best dish we had was the fajitas. Ordered via UE and it took ~1hr from delivery to my door on a Saturday night. Food arrived lukewarm. We ordered the chicken and medium rare steak fajita platter, sans the rice and requested Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese on the side. UE delivered with care. I was disappointed that besides the tortilla chips everything was packaged in plastic, styrofoam or aluminum foil. The beans were liquidy and had some type of white cheese (we think that's what it is) in them. They were not to our liking. The proteins were cooked to order and were even better the next day. The flour tortillas were soft and flavorful. The tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole that was provided was only enough for two fajitas. We were given four flour tortillas and we could have used more. The onions and peppers consisted of 99% onions and they could have used more sautéed time because they were very oniony and when added to the fajitas, made them very onion forward....nasty. The tortilla chips were thin, crispy and flavorful, just the way I like them but no salsa was provided. Not sure if we had to order that separately since we didn't order the tortilla chips. My boyfriend and I are big Rangos fans! You can catch us at the bar for Happy Hour at least once a month. Hands down, our favorite thing to order is the queso. It is one of the best in the area. We have even stopped in just for queso more than once. It is always delicious and I HIGHLY recommend it. The vibe is festive and fun, with friendly staff and quick service. The food is consistently great. Fresh chips, flavorful salsa, and solid entrees like enchiladas, chile rellenos, and fajitas. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing or saving for later. However, skip the salads - they are rather bland and certainly not their specialty. Margaritas are strong, not too sweet, and come in a variety of flavors. Parking is easy in the nearby garage, and while the bar area can get a bit loud, there are quieter tables if you prefer. Came here with my girlfriends for a happy hour and was unfortunately told that happy hour was only able at the bar or patio. Opted to stay and try them out anyways. I got the grilled steak enchiladas and one of my friends got the birra tacos. Portions were massive and enough to save for a second meal. The steak was grilled perfected and my friends enjoyed the flavor of the tacos. One of the other girls got the fajitas and it was also large portions. We also enjoyed their desserts, the flan was a bit coconut forward according to my friend but the tres leches was balanced. Large Tysons area Tex-Mex with same-level garage parking across the street. We enjoyed our meal, though nothing really special. Ingredients were fresh, service was superb, clean large dining hall with high ceilings and fun decor! Light and airy corn chips with nice salsa to start. Ceviche Mixto came with fish, calamari, and shrimp - no scallops, despite the menu description - sweet potato, avocado and greens, it was pretty good, definitely on the mild side. Chile Con Carne (we selected white, not yellow, queso) was pretty good, came with thicker chips to hold the load. Both our entrees came with guac and sour cream with no up-charge, which was great! Chimichanga shell was soft and stuffed with delicious plentiful ground beef with onions and peppers. Shredded chicken enchiladas came two to the dish, smothered in melted cheese and were pretty good. Homemade green habanero sauce was also mild, needed the bottle of Chalula to add. Portions are not huge, but totally nice. There was a big party going on at the bar so a lot of people dressed up we're walking in the owner always comes around to greet us and it truly makes you feel like it's a local restaurant and that your patronage is valued. The bar and high top tables can get a little loud, so if you're looking for a slightly quieter dining experience, there are tables. I had the San Miguel salad and my friend ordered the enchilada. One of my favorite things about the place is the made in store tortilla chips! Note that first time check in resulted in a deal for Memorial Day weekend special for first responders. This is a great sit down Mexican restaurant and it might be the best one in the area. Free parking is great and we immediately got a table and the service was quick. The table got free chips and salsa and the salsa had a nice kick and the chips were warm. I got the steak enchiladas where the steak was nicely marinated, and I ate that up quickly. 4.50 stars. Let me be clear about Rango's - this would be 4.50 stars in Texas. This isn't some adjusted rating because Virginia is far away from the Mexican border. Rango's is outstanding regardless of your location. The fajitas here are great. Not only is the carne asada cooked to order (in my case, medium rare was actually achieved for the vast majority of the order), but it comes with a delicious side of Mexican butter as well as your standard pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. I found myself essentially ignoring mostly everything but the steak and Mexican butter which is an addicting combination. I also really liked the complementary salsa and chips largely because the salsa was actually quite good. I did not try any of the other orders at my table, but I did notice that all of the other plates were fully eaten. There wasn't a drop of food in sight for the dog which makes the dog the only one that wouldn't have given Rango's the five Yelp stars it deserves. read more
