Rango's absolutely lived up to the hype. We came after hearing it was one of the best Mexican restaurants in Virginia, and it did not disappoint. Parking was easy with a large garage right next to the restaurant, which made it especially convenient before heading to a show nearby. When we walked in, the bar was packed with people watching the game, and it had a fun, lively atmosphere. It definitely looked like a great place to catch a sporting event. The service was excellent from start to finish. The owner even came over to introduce himself, which was a really nice touch and made us feel welcome. The chips and salsa were good, just what you'd hope for at a quality Mexican restaurant. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, regular fajitas, and a couple of quesadillas from the kids menu. Even though the menu says it's for kids 8 and under, they were happy to let our slightly older kids order from it. It was a fantastic value, although I'd recommend it more for kids around 12 and under based on the portion sizes. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, but the standout was definitely the homemade tortillas. They were outstanding. I also asked for a hot sauce, and they brought out a fresh green sauce that completely elevated the meal. I'm not sure exactly what was in it, but it was incredible. My family and I stopped by Rango's the other night for dinner. It was a busy night but the hostess was able to seat us in the bar area. The waitress was nice and efficient. Another food runner immediately brought us water and chips and salsa. The salsa tasted a little bland and felt like it was missing some salt or some other seasoning/ingredient. We ordered another round but it was about the same. The chips were great. The seafood enchiladas I ordered were flavorful and there was a great spread of guacamole, sour cream, beans and rice. My wife and I came without a reservation for an early Saturday dinner (5:45pm) in April 2026. Rango's has a lot of pluses. First, it has a wide open space with a festive atmosphere and bright colors. Second, this place was hopping - lots of families enjoying a Tex-Mex meal. Third, free parking is available in the nearby garage across the street. Service was professional and attentive throughout the meal. My wife enjoyed the mixed tacos (which combines 3 different meats). But I found the Oaxacan tacos to be more bland than expected. The appetizer (fried yuca) was delightful with a nice mix of crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Overall, this is a festive Tex-Mex restaurant for families and small groups. The only downside is that prices are a little higher than you might expect for Tex-Mex but that is probably due to the Tysons Corner location. read more

Really good Tex-mex! I tried the chicken taquitos and a steak chimichanga, both were excellent. The steak inside the chimichanga was high quality and cooked to temperature. The restaurant is big with searing available for large parties and a smaller outside patio. Plenty of seating in the bar area as well. read more

Glad the suburbs have Rango! In summer months, when you want to avoid DC traffic yet want to be in a happy hour that checks many boxes, there is Rango. The place is big yet packed on a 4:30 PM on a Friday. Atmosphere is lively but not loud. We were able to snag seats at the bar, Ben made good recommendations. Margaritas are spot on, nachos and salsa are good--both on the thinner side--which is good--you have tummy space to sample rest of the menu. The sampler platter on the Happy Hour menu was a hit--a bit of everything--taquitos, wings, quesadillas, and queso. They make a decent queso. I came here Saturday night for my mom's birthday with my family. We will definitely be coming back! Came here on a whim for lunch after shopping at the mall. There was plenty of seating available and we were able to get a table immediately. I liked that this place was very spacious. The waiters filled up our waters a lot and gave us refills on the chips and salsa which was nice. Just knocking off a star because the grilled chicken in the tortilla soup was a little dry and it took at least half an hour for the food to come out. We also told one of the waitresses it was our friend's birthday and she forgot about it so we were waiting for a while until we told another waiter for the celebratory waiters to come out. It's the exact same as every other Mexican restaurant you've been to including the mass produced margarita, chips and salsa, typical menu fare in the typical combo offerings, and the birthday song to someone in the place every ten minutes. It's pretty pricey for what it is but that is a byproduct of its location. Some positives are that it has lots of seating so if you're there on a weekend and everywhere has a two hour wait you can still come here. The best dish we had was the fajitas. The tortillas are fluffy and so tasty and the steak is tender and delicious. Skip the chicken, it's dry, skip the guac, it's not mixed very well and full of cilantro. read more

Ordered via UE and it took ~1hr from delivery to my door on a Saturday night. Food arrived lukewarm. We ordered the chicken and medium rare steak fajita platter, sans the rice and requested Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese on the side. UE delivered with care. I was disappointed that besides the tortilla chips everything was packaged in plastic, styrofoam or aluminum foil. The beans were liquidy and had some type of white cheese (we think that's what it is) in them. They were not to our liking. The proteins were cooked to order and were even better the next day. The flour tortillas were soft and flavorful. The tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole that was provided was only enough for two fajitas. We were given four flour tortillas and we could have used more. The onions and peppers consisted of 99% onions and they could have used more sautéed time because they were very oniony and when added to the fajitas, made them very onion forward....nasty. The tortilla chips were thin, crispy and flavorful, just the way I like them but no salsa was provided. Not sure if we had to order that separately since we didn't order the tortilla chips. Came here with my girlfriends for a happy hour and was unfortunately told that happy hour was only able at the bar or patio. Opted to stay and try them out anyways. I got the grilled steak enchiladas and one of my friends got the birra tacos. Portions were massive and enough to save for a second meal. The steak was grilled perfected and my friends enjoyed the flavor of the tacos. One of the other girls got the fajitas and it was also large portions. We also enjoyed their desserts, the flan was a bit coconut forward according to my friend but the tres leches was balanced. The server sometimes forgot about us in our corner but the food came out piping hot. The overall ambiance wasn't too busy or crowded compared to some other places but still very festive. My friend went with the Rango salad with steak cooked medium. She also asked for extra avocado, a side of guac, and extra dressing on the side, which they happily accommodated all of. Everything was amazing. I was stuffed by the end, and this easily could've been two meals. I also tried some of the steak that came on her salad and I was blown away at how perfectly tender it was. Honestly the steak might have been the best part of the meal. Definitely will come back here if in the mood for Mexican food, and will have to try their desserts next time.
