I've been here to eat and for events. The food is Americanized Latin food at best. Flavor is bland. I think my gripe is that during events, I haven't even finished eating or drinking and my food is quickly taken away. Even requesting that I am still working on my food or drink, it's generally disregarded and taken away. It causes the organizer or me to have to order more food and drink. I don't like the game of buying more food and drink just to make more money because I think it is awfully wasteful to just throw away half eaten food and expensive drinks that I would totally eat but am just busy socializing. I end up feeling like I have to hold the items in my hand or eat as fast as I can or else it will be taken away.

We decided to go here for restaurant week since it's been on my list for a minute. Pretty solid menu with massive portions all things considered. I opted for just a water but landed on the chicken tortilla soup, enchinalas, and some vanilla ice cream. The atmosphere there is pretty cool and they have a sick private event space upstairs. Speaking of upstairs, that's where the bathrooms are too. Single stalls for the dudes, sick. They goofed our ice cream (pina colada instead of vanilla bean) but quickly made it right. Great spot and I look forward to going here when it isn't restaurant week.

really great dinner, seated right away with a reservation (weekend night so highly recommended given the capital one hall next door), and the western decor were so unique! Saw a reception in the upper mezzanine space and overall great vibes

Beautiful restaurant, great for big groups and easily shareable menu! We were a group of 7. Service was attentive and helpful. Fried Cauliflower- yum! Flautas-tasty Pork belly taco-were good Matamoros taco- was ok, was kinda bland Fajitas- very generous portions Food quality was solid. I'd prefer a little more "heat" but overall food quality was good. We would definitely return.

Came here with a friend for dinner. We sat outside which was really pleasant! Perfect music level. Nice breeze. Good service. We started with a margarita which was pretty weak. Then we got the queso with chorizo. It was good. Chips, and most things, needed more salt. Chips came with a green salsa that I loved. I got the pascal tacos and loved them! Three come to an order. I also got the beans charros which had a kick. Loved them and serving is big so I made nachos with them the next day.

Food (5/5): Best fajitas in the DMV! Everything is fresh and prepared perfectly! We had the shrimp fajitas and it was plenty of food to share for 2 people! We also love their chips and salsa and two different sauces they bring us. Service (3/5): we came at a slow lunch time and often had to find the server. I guess the wanted us to have a leisurely time! Ambiance (4/5:) Beautiful restaurant.

My first time trying fried ice cream and it was so delicious! The waitress sat us where we felt it was warmest and gave us napkins right away to provide a little worth for our legs. The temp dropped and we were chilly! The server was great, patiently helpful, and quick. I'd love to return to try their fajitas! We only had dessert. The interior design is very cute. Go, enjoy!

My first time at this restaurant. It was my friend's birthday and Sam was our server. He was exceptional. Catered to our picky needs and went above and beyond the entire time of us being there. Thank you so much Sam!!!! Request him as your server! (: Food and drinks were great.

My only complaint is that it's not closer to my house!! The service, top notch! The food is elevated on another level. The ambiance is also lovely, i can't wait to come back for summer nights.

I visited with my boyfriend's family. Overall the food was really good, especially the brisket fajitas. The portion size was generous and the staff seemed kind as well. The restaurant is spacious, clean and well decorated. Would definitely visit again

Ometeo has a fun, lively vibe that makes it a great after-work hangout. We came by on a Tuesday evening, and the place was packed the entire time, especially around happy hour. It's conveniently located right off the McLean Metro stop, which made getting there super easy--and with a Capital One building right next door, it's no surprise the after-work crowd rolls in hard. The service was a bit slow, but honestly, given how busy it was, it was understandable. They start you off with free chips and salsa, which is always a win. You get two types: a creamy verde and a classic red salsa--both were tasty and a great way to kick things off. We shared a few starters, including the ceviche, which had nice flavor but leaned more heavily on avocado than fish. We also tried the basic salad with cactus and mixed greens. For the main, we had the chicken mole. The mole was a little on the sweet side for my taste--I was hoping for a touch more spice and depth. Also, it was served with rice instead of tortillas, and while that's a personal preference, I think tortillas would've been a better pairing.

We went here for Cinco de Mayo! I think the vibes and decor were awesome and genuinely the place was packed! Which is great!! The mariachi band was fantastic and I love that they came up and sang at our table. But unfortunately this is kinda where the "great" part ends... They have happy hour all day, but the pricing is still absurd. They sell three tacos for $22+ and they are barely filled with anything besides a meat, cilantro, and onion. Please, I beg, go somewhere else for tacos. The best entree item we had was a hotdog. This is a Mexican restaurant. The queso was good and we enjoyed the free chips. Also the agua Fresca cocktail was fantastic. The service was also fine. If you're looking for a good Mexican restaurant, I unfortunately say go somewhere else.

I had such a great experience at Ometeo in Tysons. I sat dined in the Cadillac Lounge upstairs which has the cutest vibe. The DJ added so much energy to the space without being overwhelming. I ordered the guava and hibiscus margarita with mezcal and it was incredibly refreshing. I also had the fried cauliflower which was really good, and the Matamoros tacos which were absolutely amazing!!! So flavorful and well seasoned.

We ordered: - the honeydew mocktail (this was so good, I haven't had a mocktail that I enjoyed so much in a long time now) - the assortment of dips (delicious and paired so well with the bread) - a side of toum (this is an essential for me at any restaurant) - the ottoman rice (my family's favorite) - brussel sprouts - cauliflower (our server's favorite) - Adana kepab - the small lamb shoulder dish (really good) - branzino (sooo good and cooked perfectly) - pistachio soufflé (like a chocolate lava cake but with pistachio inside--soooo fab) We absolutely loved everything that we ordered and the bread that they served the food with. The service was so attentive. The vibes were really nice and not overly fancy. My family and I thought it was one of the best Turkish/middle eastern meals we've had in a while (and we thought this was much better than Zaytinya). Overall I cannot wait to return.

Delicious Indian restaurant - great happy hour and brunch spot!…read more The happy hour from 4pm-7pm Monday-Fri is an amazing deal. I ordered 2 dishes and a cocktail for under $20! I requested for the Paneer Tikka Flatbread (not on the menu)- vegetarian version of the Chicken Paneer Tikka Flatbread. The naan pizza was delicious, it was stuffed with cubes of paneer with a side of Tikki Masala dipping sauce. Highly recommend it! You can get the Paneer Pizza next door too! The Paneer Tacos were filling and fun to try, but large chunky blocks of paneer. While I enjoyed the spicy mayo sauce, I wish the paneer was cut up into cubes. It just felt a bit heavy with the paneer. The Spinach Artichoke Fritters (4) were tasty. The Mango Mojito and the Mumbai Mule cocktail weren't that good, but it honestly it's hard to complain when it's only $6/drink. The unlimited weekend brunch at $38 is a great deal and well worth it! You can choose from over a dozen Indian fusion dishe - as a bonus mango lassi, chai, and soft drinks are included! You can order 2 dishes/person at a time and the servers hastily swing by to clear your plates and place your next order! Between the 3 of us, we ordered almost conquered the full brunch menu and had a delightful brunch feast! The food had a spicy kick, but not overpowering and wasn't greasy. The portions range from small, bite-size apps to full, large entree size. There's a lot of vegetarian dishes on the menu with a few non-veg as well. There's a good balance between traditional Indian dishes and Western fusion with a hint of American flavors/presentation. My favorite stand-outs: - Aam Chat Papri with crispy Papri pita like chips with mango, chick peas, and potatoes smothered in yogurt and chutney, and topped with spicy garam masala mix - Chana Bhatura with chick pea curry and fluffy, bubbly fried bread. Large portion. - Spinach and Artichoke Fritters - Crispy bite-size balls filled with creamy spinach artichoke dip, 4 come in an order and perfect for sharing! - Aloo Bravas - Crispy, diced potatoes very reminiscent of the Spanish Patatas Bravas with aioli sauce and mild masala spicy kick - Butter Chicken - My friend enjoyed it, solid full entree size. I didn't order or try it in, but it looked pretty tasty and could easily why she made a happy empty plate! - Nutella Bread Pakora - Tastes like a bites-size Nutella fried donut! So good we ordered another one! - Helluva Hallawa Trio - I enjoyed sampling the 3 types of Hallawa, ranging in savory (carrot) to more sweet and milky (my favorite). - Mango Lassi - The sweetness of the mango lassi helped to balance out and absorb the spiciness of the food. - Masala Chai - Great ending to a meal, perfectG caffeine pick me up! Paired well with the Nutella bread Pakora. The other dishes on the menu were fun to try, but would probably skip and save room for my faves: - Aloo Sabzi and Katchuri - The dense hollow shell katchuri (similar to a round empanada) made of dhal lentil smothered in Aloo potato curry sabzi was very filling and dense. After a couple of bites, I threw in the towel. - Egg Burgi and Paratha - The masala spicy scrambled egg on paratha flatbread was kind of bland and a very small portion. - Mango Mimosa - While the mimosas were only $4, it was quite tangy and didn't pair well with the meal. I wish fresh mango juice was used instead of mango flavored juice (tastes like Izzy). The lunch buffet (Mon - Fri 12pm - 2:30pm for $23 wasn't the best experience. Admittedly, I came to the buffet at 1:30pm and the food was tepid and sadly overcooked under the heat lamp. The plates were very small and it was hard to fit a bunch of food. I went to the buffet at least 3 or 4 times to try out the dishes in search of the perfect bite, which I sadly couldn't. There were 5 main standard dishes with 3 vegetarian dishes (Dal Makhani, Aloo Ghobi, and Mehti Paneer) and 2 non-veg featuring both chicken dishes (Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry) and a galore of fried fritters/pakoras (spinach, onion, potato) with a couple of new rotating stations with Pani Puri (not much going on) and Spinach Tikki and Fish Pakora fried fritters. The Mehti Paneer was quite greasy with a coat of grease at the top and the paneer was pretty stiff. It wasn't tender. The Dal Makhani was bland. The potato aloo potatoes were brittle as they were sitting under the heat lamp too long. The best part about the meal was the fluffy naan, which was made-to-order. I enjoyed 2 rounds! Order the Masala Dosa crispy! When we got it the 1st time on the lunch special, it was a bit rubbery and soggy. After the server asked us a few times whether we liked it, my hubby relented and told him the honest answer. The server got the dosa re-made to go extra crispy, which did the trick! The masala potatoes paired well with the dosa. I wasn't a fan of the Sambar. Based on the glowing brunch and happy hour experience, I would come back to try the lunch buffet with an early start right when it opens!

Reservations - I've been with OpenTable and other restaurant online booking systems for decades but this is a first for me. They have two separate OpenTable listings (as noted in other reviews). I was clear in that i just wanted an after work chill happy hour. I booked for 4:30. After promptly showing up at the wren for my 4:30 appointment I was told, Naisho room doesn't open until 5 pm.... So why did you let me book for 4:30?!?! No explanation. No apology just "you're early..." 2. I promptly dropped $70 for drinks and an appetizer at the Wren bar to hold me and my guests over. It wasn't bad but that's not what I was hoping for... at 4:30. 3. The service to the speakeasy was great. The "gym stag" had our 4:30 and let us in at... 5:03 pm... 4. The waitress inside the speakeasy was super awkward and off putting. She really needs a class on etiquette. I ordered quite a bit right off the bat but my guests slow roll throughout the experience and she didn't seem too happy with that. Taking away our menus doesn't encourage us to order either. You charge $22 for one tea sandwhich but can't afford to print out more menus? The menus were also pretty dingy and I hand sanitized after using them. 5. Food. Was mid at best. Not at all authentic Japanese. I had the oyster shooter, temaki, Wagyu toast, Wagyu quesadilla, and mocktail. The oyster shooter was too sweet. And you could only taste the oyster and caviar at the end. Mostly as an aftertaste. There was a "too sweet" aspect to most of the food. The temaki was okay and I liked the crunchy bits but they went too far with the plastic wrap on the seaweed. The plastic wrap gave me Japanese 7-11 onigiri vibes. You do that if you aren't efficient enough to get the food out to guests at once and the seaweed will get soggy. I'm not sure if it was for a "fun factor" for people who are unfamiliar with grocery store onigiri in Asia but in a restaurant it should be done for you. The Wagyu toast was a HUGE disappointment. It was Sooooo sweet. I filet barely taste anything except the gross, sweet jam. And the toast was soggy and the texture of the bread felt prepared the day before and like refrigerator. It was not toasted at all. The star was the Wagyu quesadilla with beef tendon chips. It was the cheapest item on the menu and the most filling and delicious. 6. Drinks were very good. Expect about $20 a pop... $50 for the Japanese whiskey is highway robbery. Nothing really "rare." I have most bottles on the kitchen counter from the Virginia ABc or DC Costco. You can buy an entire bottle of the Japanese whiskey at Costco for the cost of one serving here. Overall, the Naisho room felt like all hype. For over $100 I was still pretty hungry. If the food tasted good I would have ordered more but I didn't think it was worth it. You get a nice view but it's the same from most of the capital one building. Same view from the brewery. Don't waste your money. Go elsewhere. Plenty of better happy hour spots for much much less considering if you stay for more than two hours you have to pay for parking (we did becuase, well, our reservation was at 4:30...)
