My wife craves Taco Bamba. Their Gringo taco with ground beef, cheese, etc. hits the spot every time. We order it on a flour tortilla and the tortilla is perfectly fried. The tacos are pretty big and two fill you up. There's also a salsa bar that we appreciate. Our eight-year-old daughter loves their rice and beans!

Some of the daily special tacos. Some of the best in the area.

These are the best tacos I know of in the DMV, and I've tried many. The ingredients are fresh, there is a wide variety of different salsas (four, from mild to hot hot), and a wide variety of tacos as well, from veggie tacos to about 10 different kinds of meat. The best tacos are the daily specials - slightly more expensive but worth it. Only two downsides to this location -- no margaritas, and no Taco Tuesday.

It seems Taco Bamba cannot make a single bad dish. I had been running errands since early morning and did not have a chance to eat breakfast. I was close to taco bamba and thought I might just grab a taco que qualm my hunger at 11am. I had never noticed their breakfast menu and decided on trying to breakfast sope. The dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the yolk on the egg was runny but the white perfectly cooked. The avocado perfectly ripe. The chorizo seasoned everything perfectly. Chiles gave it the perfect level of spice. The service, as always, professional and prompt.

So good! I have been looking for decent Mexican food in the area and I also prefer to eat on the healthier side and this hit the spot! I ordered the pack the bowl with barbacoa and my boyfriend had the chicken tinga - both were great. The portions were good sized for the bowls, however, the side of guacamole is tiny (see photo). We ordered delivery so I can't speak to the service in the restaurant but delivery was fast and the food was well packaged! (No spilled salsas). I would order from there again and will have to stop in and check it out in person.

    Carne Asada (seared beef)
    Doug B.

Really good chain restaurant option. I've been to the Fairfax one, but first time here. I had the Carne Asada (seared beef) and Tinga (braised chicken) tacos. I also had the guacamole and chips. The tacos were good, but missed some greens on it. Good flavors, I added some guacamole to each bite. Very good. Really enjoyed the guac. Very well made. Could be a bit spicier but added some zing from the salsa bar. **Really fun option with their salsa bar. This dresses up any meal and bite. They have to-go cups so you can take it with you. Very limited seating outdoors. Bar-like seating indoors. I think this is a popular to-go place. Definitely consider them if you are looking for a quick, tasty bite.

Do they have Tamales? I got baby Jesus in the Rosca de Reyes, so I need a place that has good tamales to take my family on February. The menu does not mention Tamales, but some reviews do, so I am confused. Thanks!

Yes they do! I went around Summer/Fall 2018. They have pork or vegetarian. You have to look for the menu pictures that include the panel that says "TACNOS- NOT TACOS"

What a find!!! I have to mention the amount of flavors bursting forth before anything else. 1st bite- we were sold. Never said this B4 in a review - these tacos could not have been any better, in any way, than they were here. Juicy and tender, we tried 5 types, the beef birria, goat birria, chicken tinga, chicken+chorizo, and beef tinga. All equally great. Then Sopas chicken tinga, beer birria So fabulous too. Loved every single bite. Small place, very casual with several inside tables, more outside. Sat down for some, carryout for more. Carryout was well packaged- self serve some of the 3 sauces to go to try. Green is avocado/tomatillo mix, red is hotter/sharper, orange (kickin/creamy) good. Decent sized menu but not trying to do everything- smart move. Because everything they do they do extremely well. Before we even left, I said "If we lived here , I'd be coming here almost every week". It's that good. We're both retired chefs and cook at home constantly, but this was something special. Do Not Miss.

The lengua and carne asada are good too. Only problem is they are not consistent. One day it is amazing and the next it tastes off. A gutsy move and worth a visit…read more I always wondered why someone would open a taco restaurant so close to a Taco Bamba. Today I decided to go see for myself. There were several things that set this place apart, and mostly in a good way. The space is clean and open. There's plenty of comfortable seating... on comfortable seats... at actual tables. The staff is friendly and helpful. The setup is use a tablet to enter your order and get one of those round, vibrating pagers so you know when to go pick up your order. To my surprise, a few seconds after I sat down one of the staff brough my plastic soda glass so I could get my beverage while I waited for my food. And a few seconds after I got back to my table with my Dr. Pepper ("No Coke, Pepsi") someone dropped off my food. Now, to the food. I ordered two tacos, a Carne Asada and an Al Pastor, along with an ear of street corn. Of that, my favorite was the street corn, followed by the Al Pastor taco. I was unpleasantly surprised by the Carne Asada taco because it was soaked in grease. They also have a nice assortment of daily specials and happy hour bargains. Such specials and happiness includes leveraging their full bar. I will be coming back, probably for their happy hour and will make a point of not getting a Carne Asada Taco.

My husband and I got tacos, which we thought were great! We walked in and took our good to go- it was a weeknight at dinner time. Service was great, the ambiance was nice and clean, and decorated cutely (see photos). One primary point of criticism- the staff did not seem to know what "gluten free" meant and this can be a huge red flag for a gluten free diner. I asked for the specific ingredients (which they just told me, I didn't ask for further evidence), made an educated guess, and got lucky. But I think 1) staff being knowledgable and then perhaps 2) labeling items on their menus would be great next steps for gluten free diners.

I've been here when there was a DJ, however when there isn't one, the music is too loud, you have to yell/shout when talking. I don't know if the bartenders keep track of how much alcohol they are serving - unfortunately I don't think that they do - because many of the men there get extremely intoxicated & then act very unpleasant, especially toward women - bothering & repeatedly pestering them. In addition to that, in the bathrooms, people are using illicit substances, and I don't believe anything has been done about this. As a woman, I do not believe this is the safest place to go alone or with other women.
