These are the best tacos I know of in the DMV, and I've tried many. The ingredients are fresh, there is a wide variety of different salsas (four, from mild to hot hot), and a wide variety of tacos as well, from veggie tacos to about 10 different kinds of meat. It seems Taco Bamba cannot make a single bad dish. I had been running errands since early morning and did not have a chance to eat breakfast. I was close to taco bamba and thought I might just grab a taco que qualm my hunger at 11am. I had never noticed their breakfast menu and decided on trying to breakfast sope. The dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the yolk on the egg was runny but the white perfectly cooked. The avocado perfectly ripe. The chorizo seasoned everything perfectly. Extremely Disappointed- I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at this Taco Bamba location. Not only was my food cold, but we also saw roaches inside the restaurant. That alone was enough to ruin our appetite, but what made it even worse was the reaction from the staff. When I brought it to the worker's attention, she didn't seem surprised or concerned at all. All she said was that she would "tell the manager," and that was it. No urgency, nothing. We couldn't finish our meal after that and ended up throwing it away. Could be a bit spicier but added some zing from the salsa bar. **Really fun option with their salsa bar. This dresses up any meal and bite. They have to-go cups so you can take it with you. I'm always surprised to see Taco Bamba on lists of best tacos in the area as this place has always been underwhelming to me. I've been here a few times and and had over a dozen tacos and the theme I've noticed is that they are dry. The meats are dry, some are even hard. The flavors don't really stand out. This location specifically doesn't have a lot of seating and gets cramped. I personally think there are way better taco options in the area. read more

One thing I really like about Taco Bamba is that each location has tacos that are unique to that particular location. Today I tried the Black Pearl taco, which came with crispy grouper, coleslaw, ink aioli, avocado, pickled onion, and scallions. The grouper was cooked well and was crispy, but I personally didn't think the taco had much flavor as a whole, so I probably won't be getting that one next time, but I still appreciate that each location offers recipes that are unique. It has asada, bamba chorizo, guacamole, pickled onion, pickled chile, cotija, cilantro, and chicharron. The Mexican grilled corn on the cob is delicious as well. The chips are hit or miss, but the salsas are on point, as is the guacamole. The location sizes are not consistent across the chain and this one, the original location, is on the smaller side. Love Taco Bamba & this is the second time visiting this location. We got a Cubano Torta & chips & salsa to share for lunch. The torta was huge! (that's what she said my Office peeps lol). So glad we shared because half was a generous portion. It was very fresh & packed with ham, shredded pork, & accouterments. I will say that as good as it was it we both found it a bit too salty & we could not finish our halves. The first few bites were subtle but the more you ate, the more it packed a salty punch.
