Taco Bamba, located at the Idylwood shopping center in Falls Church, offers creative, authentic tacos in the DMV. Its extensive, diverse menu features unique specialties and vegetarian options, all crafted with flavorful, fresh ingredients. This location is smaller than other Taco Bamba outlets I've visited, with limited indoor seating and patio seating available. Many customers choose to take out. The Lengua De Res Taco was okay, while the Shrimp Quesadilla delivered a well-balanced flavor from the shrimp and plenty of cheese. The Torta Bamba is generously filled with meats, pickles, avocado, tomatoes, and pineapple, and the portion size is ample. read more

First location of Taco Bamba I have been to. It was second for my wife as she went once to the Mt. Vernon Square one that existed. It is quite close to our friend in Pimmit Hills and glad we got him into it. Took tacos into the lawn of Wolf Trap to see Ringo Starr and loved them even a few hours later. read more

We've been in love with this spot since they only had 3 in the area. Now they're everywhere! We haven't visited in a while but we see happy to get to the Falls Church location today after church. We got cheese quesadilla, camarón taco, gringo and the shrimp & chorizo empanada. The food is always good. The inside is small. Only about 5 tables that seat 2. They have a few tables outside. Music always playing and it's an electric atmosphere inside. We've managed to make it to every location in the DMV, on purpose! Great food. Tacos like you've never expected and more. Drinks are single order bottle options. Food made to order each time. read more

This place used to be good. I went today and there's barely any steak in my steak taco and the shrimp aren't seasoned or good. I don't know what happened but I won't be back. read more

I stopped in again this morning... would my experience match the previous? Are they consistently as great as the first time? YES !! Love the friendly greeting and delicious fresh ingredients! read more

My wife craves Taco Bamba. Their Gringo taco with ground beef, cheese, etc. hits the spot every time. We order it on a flour tortilla and the tortilla is perfectly fried. The tacos are pretty big and two fill you up. There's also a salsa bar that we appreciate. Our eight-year-old daughter loves their rice and beans! read more

These are the best tacos I know of in the DMV, and I've tried many. The ingredients are fresh, there is a wide variety of different salsas (four, from mild to hot hot), and a wide variety of tacos as well, from veggie tacos to about 10 different kinds of meat. The best tacos are the daily specials - slightly more expensive but worth it. Only two downsides to this location -- no margaritas, and no Taco Tuesday. read more

Got a late night delivery and it was fresh and delicious ! We did the build your own kits and it was a nice amount of protein and fresh corn tortillas. I would have liked more cilantro and onion for toppings and would have appreciated more of the salsas but maybe could request it ? Packaging was good. read more

It seems Taco Bamba cannot make a single bad dish. I had been running errands since early morning and did not have a chance to eat breakfast. I was close to taco bamba and thought I might just grab a taco que qualm my hunger at 11am. I had never noticed their breakfast menu and decided on trying to breakfast sope. The dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the yolk on the egg was runny but the white perfectly cooked. The avocado perfectly ripe. The chorizo seasoned everything perfectly. Chiles gave it the perfect level of spice. The service, as always, professional and prompt. read more

The place is small with 4 tables inside and 5 tables outside. There are 6 barstools at the counter where you can see the cooks cooking your food. Kind of a dive restaurant feel with sticky tables, concrete floors, low lighting and a worn down feel. I would suggest you order your food to go. The tacos are about $5.50 per taco. They also serve breakfast with the prices from $4 - $10.50. The wait was long for our order. We ordered the EL Gringo taco, Shrimp & Chorizo Fundido Empanada, traditional quesadillas & Cameron tacos. The empanada was amazing but small. The tacos were good. read more

Great food! Quick service and always friendly. They get busy during peak eating hours...so give time when ordering.

So good! I have been looking for decent Mexican food in the area and I also prefer to eat on the healthier side and this hit the spot! I ordered the pack the bowl with barbacoa and my boyfriend had the chicken tinga - both were great. The portions were good sized for the bowls, however, the side of guacamole is tiny (see photo). We ordered delivery so I can't speak to the service in the restaurant but delivery was fast and the food was well packaged! (No spilled salsas). I would order from there again and will have to stop in and check it out in person. read more

Extremely Disappointed- I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at this Taco Bamba location. Not only was my food cold, but we also saw roaches inside the restaurant. That alone was enough to ruin our appetite, but what made it even worse was the reaction from the staff. When I brought it to the worker's attention, she didn't seem surprised or concerned at all. All she said was that she would "tell the manager," and that was it. No urgency, nothing. We couldn't finish our meal after that and ended up throwing it away. For a place with such a big name in the area, this left a horrible taste and a terrible impression. I'm really disappointed and won't be returning. read more

Really good chain restaurant option. I've been to the Fairfax one, but first time here. I had the Carne Asada (seared beef) and Tinga (braised chicken) tacos. I also had the guacamole and chips. The tacos were good, but missed some greens on it. Good flavors, I added some guacamole to each bite. Very good. Really enjoyed the guac. Very well made. Could be a bit spicier but added some zing from the salsa bar. **Really fun option with their salsa bar. This dresses up any meal and bite. They have to-go cups so you can take it with you. Very limited seating outdoors. Bar-like seating indoors. I think this is a popular to-go place. Definitely consider them if you are looking for a quick, tasty bite. read more

This place is all about a wide variety of tasty tortilla tacos. I've tried many of their recipes and have loved them all. Al Pastor Arabica Shrimp and Mango, as I recall Carnitas Language Al Carbon Are some that immediately come to mind. I typically don't drink drink sodas, but I enjoy a Jarritos soda when I get my tacos. Many flavored to choose from, but Toronja is a favorite. read more

Good (but oily food) food.. It's tasty but cannot be your dinner option more than once a month ( at least for me) as I find it oily. Definitely an authentic South American food though as I have now visited SA and know their food landscape. The goat items are unique/special. read more

I'm always surprised to see Taco Bamba on lists of best tacos in the area as this place has always been underwhelming to me. I've been here a few times and and had over a dozen tacos and the theme I've noticed is that they are dry. The meats are dry, some are even hard. The flavors don't really stand out. This location specifically doesn't have a lot of seating and gets cramped. I personally think there are way better taco options in the area. read more

Taco Bamba is my go-to taco shop when I'm in the DC area. This was my first time at the Falls Church location. It's really small- only counter seating- and the biggest downside is there's no bar. They were playing awesome classic rock, but it was very loud so don't come here if you want to have a conversation with someone. The man who took my order (Sandro?) was super nice and personable. The nachos were the best I've had in the area. read more

I will keep this review short and simple. Its a chain, but its a damn good chain. Fresh tacos that you see them make it right there. Its way better than the other guys in the area. If you are on the fence, stop reading this review and just go get some good tacos IMO. read more

This is my favorite place in the DMV for tacos. There's not much seating at this location, but their food travels well. The Taco Bamba taco is my favorite. It has asada, bamba chorizo, guacamole, pickled onion, pickled chile, cotija, cilantro, and chicharron. The Mexican grilled corn on the cob is delicious as well. The chips are hit or miss, but the salsas are on point, as is the guacamole. The location sizes are not consistent across the chain and this one, the original location, is on the smaller side. The Springfield location has more expansive seating and a full service bar. You can't go wrong here. read more

Great food and service. The staff was so nice in celebrating my wife's birthday. Tacos and drinks were awesome!

Came to this Taco Bamba location after going to the one in Fairfax (on Braddock), and I was impressed with how consistent the tacos are across locations. Got the Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos, which were really good- the flavor was on point. One thing I really like about Taco Bamba is that each location has tacos that are unique to that particular location. Today I tried the Black Pearl taco, which came with crispy grouper, coleslaw, ink aioli, avocado, pickled onion, and scallions. The grouper was cooked well and was crispy, but I personally didn't think the taco had much flavor as a whole, so I probably won't be getting that one next time, but I still appreciate that each location offers recipes that are unique. Overall, you can never go wrong with Taco Bamba. read more

Flying into Dulles from California, I needed a late night dinner spot for a Sunday evening that was on the way towards DC. I came upon this place on Yelp and saw it had 2k+ reviews and was like no way a taco spot has this many reviews. Let me tell you, they have 100% earned the hype and Taco Bamba had one of THE best carne asada tacos I've ever had in my life. I'm from San Diego as well so I am super annoying about if a taco is good or not much to the chagrin of my husband.
