After an amazing lunch, glad I came back for happy hour a week later! Delicious Indian Mexican fusion, the food is truly bursting with flavor and tickles my taste buds! The Combination platter of Paneer Enchilada and Potato Spinach and Cheese Taquito along with an a la carte Caulilflower taco was a great way to sample the menu! The Paneer Kathi roll is hands-down the best kati roll I've had! The Paneer Enchilada hit the spot with a creamy cheesy Tikka sauce while the the Spinach Cheese Potato Masala Taquito had a spicy kick! The Mexican rice was great for mopping up the sauce and absorbing the spiciness. It was a bummer the Cauliflower Taco wasn't an option for the Combination Platter of 3 (only the meat tacos were an option). I'm glad I ordered it a la carte for $8 - it was worth it! The crispy Cauliflower had a sweet and tangy sauce stuffed in 2 thin tortillas. Interestingly enough, all 3 items - the Enchilada, Taquito and taco had completely different sauces and flavors. The Happy Hour from 3-6:30pm Mon-Fri has good deals - try the Kathi Paneer roll! The roll is a generous size with tender scrumptious paneer stuffed in warm cheesy tortilla. I'll opt out of the jalapenos/chili next time. it added a spicy kick! The Masala Fries were like Indian version of spicy Disco fries. They were fun to try, but they were soggy from all of the sauce and a bit too spicy. I wish the sauces came on the side. The $8 flavored Margarita on happy hour is a great deal. I enjoy the Guava Margarita. The complementary chips were fine and a bit salty, nothing really special (I wouldn't fill up on them). The giant Watermelon Pina Colada Mocktail was very sweet and tasted like watermelon cotton candy slushie. My daughter loved it! I wasn't a fan of the Classic Margarita, Mezcal Passion fruit Margarita, or the Sangria on happy hour, the flavors weren't quite balanced out. The drinks were very tangy flavor and I wish the sangria was a bit sweeter and had a heavy flavor from the Triple Sec. I threw up outside the restaurant after drinking the Mezcal Passion fruit Margarita. Note - the restaurant doesn't take online or phone reservations for parties under 10, but I didn't wait long (10 min) for a party of 5 for Saturday lunch at 1pm (3 of 5 had to be there). I've heard about it for years, and we finally made it out. It's a mix between Indian and Mexican food, you won't find anything like this in the DMV. I would definitely suggest making a reservation. We waited for almost 30 minutes because it was packed, and that was on a Thursday. The service was quick, though, and the food came out fast. We had the burrito, roti, taco and fries. The portions were generous, and everything had such a unique flavor. Our bellies definitely weren't big enough to try more, but everything we had was delicious. Was craving guacamole and was surprised to see "market price" listed next to guacamole which I've never seen before for guac?! $11 pretty steep for the size of guacamole, but hats off to them, this guacamole was really good. I was impressed with the size and thought the dish wasn't bad, but the butter chicken itself honestly didn't wow me - I think I just wasn't meshing with the seasoning (tasted different than butter chicken I order at Indian restaurants, and I normally love butter chicken!). It was my first time here. Cute spot in front of the post office with both indoor and outdoor seating. There is parking right outside of the restaurant. They have several seating areas including the bar, high top tables and another dining area. I wows seated immediately as they have hosts at the front of the restaurant. The food was good. The drinks (when given the right one) was tasty. The service and management needed some work. We were seated at a table and ordered drinks, and then shortly after food. I was given a mocktail, on accident, and then they brought me a cocktail. It should have been taken off the bill. Then we were asked to move our seats as they had a large party coming. We had to bring our drinks and stuff to another part of the restaurant. They said it would be a nicer table, and it was a downgrade. Like why promise us something nicer and then not do that. We got a new server. It kind of ruined the meal with all the errors. They sent us home with churros for the inconvenience. My friends said all of this lack of organization and error was not typical. The food here is really innovative and delicious! I don't see many Indian/Mexican fusion places around here, and definitely not tasty as the food here was. We got the ceviche and masala queso as our appetizers which were really tasty and enjoyable. For our entrees, I got the enchiladas with the special toppings (which was like the masala queso and other sauces which was well worth it) and I like how you can pick different fillings so I got the chicken tinga in one and bean and cheese in the other and my partner got the naan tacos which were interesting and delicious. I'm deducting a star because they don't have a system to reserve a table and with a popular place like this, you can end up waiting a while (I actually tried to come here before and we left with the insane wait). Our server forgot about the drinks we ordered so we didn't get them until our entrees came. Also, this is picky but the to-go containers are really not good. All were very tasty and the salsa had a little kick, which we loved. For entrees, I got the tikka tacos and my husband got the spicy tikka fajitas. Both were HUGE portions of foods and very tasty, though I will say it was more Indian than Mexican. On a friday night, this place was absolutely packed, but even with a estimated 45 minute wait, our party of 4 was seated in about 20 mins. So turnaround is fast! We ordered a variety of dishes: lamb birria, butter chicken tacos, butter chicken remixed and pollo en mole. For the most part everyone enjoyed their dishes! The molè had that classic deep, savory taste. The butter chicken was flavorful and the pickles and salsa on the side provided a light contrast to the butter chicken. My table did complain that the butter chicken tacos on the other hand were kind of salty, but everything else was great! And the portions! There's a reason everyone walks out with a doggy bag. For the price you pay, you do get a ton of food. Well worth it in this economy! We're not in the area often. But the next time we're here, we'll definitely be back! read more

We came here for a Sunday dinner. Overall, good ambiance , good service, and good food! I had heard of this place but hadn't gotten around to dining here until friends of mine (who are Indian/Pakistani) mentioned how good it was. We had the masala nachos, spicy tikka fajitas (chicken), butter chicken enchiladas, and the Santa Fe burrito. Upon being seated, we were served a basket of complimentary chips and a tasty mild red salsa. The nachos made a great start. In addition to classic nacho cheese sauce and sliced pickled jalapeno peppers, this appetizer came topped with pickled red onions, queso fresco, salsa verde, and crema - all set atop a layer of saucy beans. There was also a sprinkling of masala on top. The masala and jalapenos added a bit of nice spice, but not a lot. The serving size is good for 3-4 people and we used some of the complimentary chips to scoop up the leftover bean sauce. The Santa Fe burrito is described thusly: "Crispy cauliflower, charred onion-pepper, rice, black beans, fresh greens, pickled onions and cheese blend, in a large toasted spinach tortilla, topped with chipotle tikka sauce, melted cheese, crema, queso fresco and cilantro" And the enchiladas: "Stacked, New Mexico style, topped with tikka masala sauce, melted cheese, pico, cilantro and crema" And the spicy tikka fajitas: "With basmati rice, black beans, toasted naan bread, cilantro-mint crema, jalapeños & pickled onions Choose: Chicken | Steak or Shrimp | Salmon | Vegetable & Paneer" You'll notice a theme - chipotle tikka, tikka masala sauce, spicy tikka. While individually, all of these were great, if you're sharing and comparing, they will all seem to have the same flavor profile with slight differences in spice heat - ie, butter-tikka masala overlaying classic Mexican dishes. This is not bad in itself, but on my next visit, I'll be more diverse in what we order. Again, the flavors were bold and delicious. The serving sizes were also huge. I think they could scale up their idea of what is "fusion" -- mostly it means Mexican food with naan bread (think taco shells but naan) or with paneer cheese, or it means Indian food with tortillas. But that said, the masala queso is fire, the portions are good, and the HH deals are worth it. Will return! read more

Lots of possibilities in the future 3.4/5 overall Food (1/2) - the food was ... okay. I love the idea. Mexican and Indian food can mix relatively very well. For example the naan paneer tacos were delicious. However, the tikka base used in all "masala" dishes becomes redundant. I wish there were different Indian flavor bases used in different dishes to keep them unique such that masala enchiladas don't taste the same as masala tacos or nachos. But the idea is great and there aren't that many restaurants that offer the Indo-Mex mix. In the future, adding variety of Indian flavors will help make this place even more attractive. Drinks (0.75/1) - drinks were decent and had nice balance. Of course they're not the fanciest but they are as good as you expect from a Mexican casual spot. Service (0.75/1) - Service was good. They have these cards on table that you can flip to note the staff that we need service or not. But there were few times when we needed something, it was taking a while to get someone's attention even when there were few staff members standing there looking at the dining hall. However, I will say it was a very busy and hectic night so I can understand some mishaps can happen. Decor (0.8/1) - not much bad to say about the decor and ambiance. Only thing to add would be to balance the Indian and Mexican art works. To me it was mostly one sided but still looked good for a casual dining experience. The lighting was good too but the spaces felt cramped overall. It feels weird having to go through the review and see that it only got a 3 star. So I have to be honest I was a little skeptical about coming here for lunch. I have had several fusion restaurants that just miss the mark. However, Mama Tigre was amazing and I can't wait to go back. I honestly forgot to take pictures. I ordered the Tamrid margarita which was absolutely delicious and spicy. We ordered queso for the table and it was pretty good definitely tasted home made. I ordered the beef taco plate and my husband had a combination platter. We started with the tikka wings. They were super flavorful. I liked both the mayo habanero chutney and the creama that came with it. I only wish the wings were crispy. We also tried the spinach and cheese taquitos per our server recommendation. They were also very good!! I got the lamb Birria which was good, not great. My friend got a veggie and paneer burrito.
