The service was great. I got to the restaurant early before opening. The restaurant staff let me in and made me feel welcome. All employees were friendly. The first thing that coughed my attention was the interior decoration. The floor was painted like the sea, It had fishing nets hanging on the wall. It gave you a vibe like you were at the sea. The food was amazing. The seviche was my favorite dish, and it was nicely decorated with a plate on top of a boat. However, the arroz con mariscos is not a bad choice. We went here for dinner and karaoke. They didn't seem to know how to work the karaoke equipment at first so it was delayed, and the advertised time for the karaoke was incorrect. The advertised drink specials were also incorrect, and we had to show it to them before they eventually honored it. The drinks were terrible. No sugar or flavor in them and it was like drinking stale water but it was supposed to be a pineapple margarita. This is the first time I ever had a bad margarita. The food was overpriced for the little portions we got. We felt hungry still after spending over $100 there and felt as if we got ripped off. There were extra mysterious charges that we had to ask them about and have them correct. Besides one other group of 4 people, we were the only other group there and yet the service was slow. My friends speak Spanish fluently so there was no issue with communication. The sound system is good, bathroom was clean and the staff were otherwise nice but we will not return. read more

TLDR; food was surprisingly incredible, service was friendly and attentive, atmosphere had The Wharf/DC look and was very clean and well decorated. I randomly decided to eat here because I was at the laundromat next-door starving. I wasn't expecting much to be honest considering the location and outside appearance. I was dressed like a bum because I was doing laundry and immediately felt so embarrassed because of how beautiful and well-maintained the inside was. I felt almost rude coming in looking like this. The ambience gave a nice DC restaurant feel. We were immediately greeted and given our menus and water. Let me just cut to the chase, the food was so surprisingly tasty. I've been to many fancy Peruvian restaurants all over Northern Virginia and this one surpassed most of them. We ordered the Arroz chaufa de carne and Tallarin verde con bistec and they were literally the best we've ever had. Considering this restaurant has only been open for six months, it's worth giving them a chance. Highly highly recommend! The service was amazing, I'm not too sure what the previous reviews are about. Also, to the yelper who gave a one star for a waitress not speaking English, if the waitress doesn't speak English, you don't have to be a jerk about it if they use a translator. I've been to authentic high end and family ran restaurants where the menu isn't in English, doesn't mean you give shit to them or complain about. Learn to be at least a decent human being. Anyways, this spot is fairly new, and needs to be exposed ASAP. Pero, the service like I said, the waitresses are so sweet and offered suggestions of their favorites, which now I found my favorite Peruvian dish; lomo con huancaina. The mussels were so refreshing, a little bit salty but still refreshing. Aji de gallina was soooooo good, pero there wasn't enough of it! Waitress does not speak English. She's using translator on her phone to communicate with me. She brought out complimentary nachos with cocktail sauce. I asked for salsa and she came back with ranch & some other salad dressing. I had to Google a picture of salsa for her. Well let's just say, they have none. We ordered tequila soda - they charged us $12 per shot for the tequila and a separate charge of 8.97 for the soda. Total rip off on the drinks. This restaurant, from what I can tell, opened just a few weeks ago, maybe a month. It has opening pains as most restaurants do. We had three dishes, the Tequenos con Guacamole as the appetizer. The guac was not pure avocado but mixed with mayo. I have had this variation in the past but it seemed it was more mayo than avocado. The two main dishes were Lomo Saltado and Arroz Chaufa Mixto (chicken and beef). The Lomo needed a little work. The flavor was about a 3 out of 5. Small plate in comparison to other Peruvian restaurants. The Arroz dish did not grab me...it was like a stir fried Chinese rice dish. Another review indicated that the waitress did not speak English. And she is correct. However, it did not bother my party. It should be noted that they only offered us an option of bottled water at 4 bucks each. Deer Park. And, another reviewer said they automatically charge a 20% for large groups. There were two of us. I think this will hurt their business in the long run. Plus, as they ADD the 20%, I tend not to tip more where typically I tip 25% for good services, and the services was good. Again, I don't speak Spanish but the language barier was not a problem for me. In closing, I will try the restaurant again in about a month or two. I will offer an update to this review. read more

I heard this restaurant recently opened. Well.... as I read other previous reviews, I am afraid they are all true. I could tell the staff was trying hard but it was not well executed. The servers did not speak much English. Thankfully one of my friends is a Spanish speaker. Otherwise we would have been lost getting our dinner. As a matter of fact, other tables were all Spanish speaking customers. 3 of us ordered the exact same drink, appetizer and entre at the same time. I received my appetizer at least 5 mins earlier than my friends. One friend got entre and appetizer at same time. The other friend got her entre before her appetizer. Super friendly people, Spanish speaking... great drinks the mango martini was awesome! my group happened to be the only people in there (later in the night) and they all had such a positive attitude and turned up the music for us which was a good mix of music a lot of throwbacks! Unfortunately, our family did not have a good experience here yesterday. With the exception of the waitress, no one else acknowledged us our made us feel welcome. That typically doesn't bother me as long as the service and food are good. We don't speak Spanish, but I felt secure in ordering considering the details on the menu are in English. Each of us ordered the same thing, a meal which included salmon, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We each received salmon and a mix of vegetables: onions, peppers and tomatoes. No asparagus! No mashed potatoes! No explanation! We couldn't contest it because no one speaks English. My dad insisted that we just enjoy the food and not make a big deal out of it, so I obliged. When he got halfway through his meal, we all realized how undercooked the salmon was. The bill was a whopping $97. They included 15% gratuity on a meal that didn't deliver as written. We didn't complain, but needless to say, "We left there and went somewhere else to eat." read more
