One of the best local restaurants for pick-up orders, and with a small seating area if you prefer to dine-in. I ordered through their nice website, showed up a bit early for pickup, and my order was ready and waiting. The Grill Salmon Salad is great, with a large grilled salmon filet and varied mix a vegetables that looked even better than the menu pic. Not a very good first time here. I was drawn by all the good reviews and I've been looking for a good place nearby. The picture of my food did not look like any picture I had seen. The potatoes had no taste whatsoever. Moreover this is not Alu Bhujia at all. The chickpeas were dry and full of black pepper. Not a recipe made for puri's. The prices were reasonable. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!! First, the food was delicious. We got the Desi Chicken Karahi per our waitress Sandy's recommendation. Oh, my, goodness. The flavor was out of this world. Everything was so fresh and real and perfectly flavored. We also got butter chicken (a classic and solid). The rice and chickpea dish, which just come as sides, were delightful and so flavorful -- could have been meals in their own right! Last, the service was -- no lie -- the best I've experienced at a restaurant. Sandy was so attentive, helpful, made sure we were ordering the right amount of food (ie not too much ), had great recommendations, and helped us optimize our order so we had the right amounts of everything. Also, even little details like the plates and utensils they gave us were very nice. I should have taken pictures of the food before we polished it off but it was too good to wait! How has it taken me so long to notice this place? Well, I guess because it's hard to notice when all I tend to do at this shopping center is go to Harris Teeter for groceries or to the drive-thru Starbucks for coffee. Anyway, searching for pizza late night one night, and wanting something different than the old reliable of Domino's, Papa John's, or Pizza Hut, a new place called Indian Pizza Company. How does that listing bring me to Spice Circle? It is the same place! I wondered for a while why they are listed under two different names, but it totally makes sense. In this post-COVID world, sometimes you know what you want and only search for that...and when you have grown used to ordering online, this is even more true. Spice Circle offers a menu of international offerings. While they could probably thrive on their pizza sales alone, they wisely target multiple audiences. Among their offerings are pizzas with an Indian spin, himalayan/Nepalese style dumplings called momos, as well as South America style steak. There is more, but as you can see, the offerings span the globe. On to the good stuff! So, since I was looking for Pizza, the Butter Chicken Pizza caught my eye and instantly made me craving for it. Unfortunately, it was too late the night that I found them on Yelp, so I had to wait a couple of days. I knew generally where they were located, but had no idea that they were nestled a couple doors down from the Harris Teeter I have been going to for years. Even knowing the address, I passed by the first time as it doesn't stand out among the other businesses in the strip mall. Upon walking in, I saw that the place is clean and I was immediately greeted by the gentleman at the register. Still craving the idea of Butter Chicken on a Pizza, how could I order anything else? Well, when I noticed that they also sell momos, I also ordered Chicken Momos. The sound of a Mint Cherry Lemonade spurred my curiosity as well, so that topped off my order. The steamed momos took a little bit of time to make, so I was given my lemonade in the meantime...at my request. It is pretty amazing...but, you may want to ask for extra ice as it is very sweet and very sour at the same time...but is made fresh from real fruit and muddled mint. After about 10min, my order was ready, and somehow I was able to resist the urge to open the bag before my ten minute drive home. I have to admit, at first sight, the size to price ratio seemed to be off balance. The Butter Chicken flatbread pizza is not that big. Personal sized is appropriate...but the size is deceptive. Every bite of this little Pizza was amazing. It was like Butter Chicken and Pizza were made to be paired...with a generous amount of mozzarella marrying the two together. The chicken, the sauce, the cheese, the spice, the flatbread, the caramelized edges...all make for an amazing experience. After finishing the last bite of the last slice, I was unexpectedly, and pleasantly full. So, that size to price ratio? For such a unique and amazing Pizza, I think it's appropriately priced. The momos I had to save for the next day, but they too were amazing. For those unfamiliar with momos, the dumplings themselves are not that different from other Asian dumplings except that they tend to be fully stuffed and with higher quality meat. What sets momos apart is the sauce which is rich and flavorful...not just soy sauce like so many other asian dumplings. In this case, the sauce is a rich, creamy, spicy tomato sauce...and it paired perfectly with the chicken momos. They too seemed to be too few to make a meal, but I was wrong. Totally full afterwards with smile a mile wide. Will I be back? Uh...I would have gone back every day afterwards if I didn't want to ruin a good thing! I think next time I will try their steak...but it will be hard to not be compelled to repeat this last order. read more

This was a random find while I was in the area. Since I have had good history with Pakistani restaurants, I decided to give it a try and it didn't disappoint. The naan was so large and soft. We decided to order the butter naan instead of the karahi chicken since that was gonna be too much. Then we ordered the samosa chat. They were both great and flavorful. Tried Spice Circle tonight, apparently it has only been open about two months. I found it searching for places to eat on Google. First: The staff is amazing and even though we showed up around 8:30 pm (close at 9pm) they were more than happy to invite us in and take our order. I'm not sure if you can consider this a review, that's why the even 3 stars. Maybe more of an update. Spice Circle has turned a full 180 degrees with a Desi Tadka menu, whatever that is! From Google, I think it's more Indian now with a small buffet table and pans of prepped food. So gone are the flank/grilled steaks, Parmesan truffle fries, shrimp tacos, Buttered Chicken (still in the online menu?) and possibly all other favorites you've gone there for. Not saying don't eat here because there were a lot of people on the Sunday night we went there for 1 take-out. Just check out the menu first. And if you want to get to know the owner, you don't even have to talk to him or search him on social media. I was hesitant to try this little, no-frills restaurant - but the glowing reviews about their skirt steak and chimichurri sauce persuaded me. GUYS. THIS PLACE DOES *SUCH* a great job. For anyone looking for an elevated and beautifully cooked take-out option, you MUST give these guys a try. I ordered the skirt steak and chimichurri for me and my husband - I'm on keto diet and they kindly let me substitute a side salad in place of rice - as well as fries for my husband's order (the cashier who took my order was very kind and friendly). I was truly impressed by the food. The skirt steak was "perfectly* cooked to-order (medium rare), and the generous serving of mixed vegetables on the side -- roasted carrots, zucchini, broccoli and brussel sprouts were legitimately the most perfectly cooked and seasoned veggies I've ever received from a restaurant. The chimichurri was more blended into a paste but the flavor was great - they also give you chopped tomatoes and onions to mix in, which gives you that standard chimchurri texture. Even the very simple red vinegar and pickled onion dressing for my salad was tasty. If I could offer any recommendation to the restaurant, it would be to use one of those bladed meat tenderizers prior to cooking the steak, as skirt steak is a notoriously tough cut of meat (but again, it tasted great and I've had tougher steak at other restaurants). I also appreciated that their meat was lean and high-quality - no chunks of fat. For anyone who is looking for a delicious, healthy dinner option (ESPECIALLY for keto or Paleo/low-carb) I really can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food was really good! We got the seekh kabob, butter chicken, and a chicken wrap and all of those were really good, well spiced, and flavorful. I think the butter chicken could've used a little less cream but that is easily adjustable. The karak chai was phenomenal and a great price too! They serve it to you in a traditional chai matka, and it really shows that they take service and experience seriously. Disappointed with the change in menu and food quality. Spicy Circle used to be a go to for a fusion of Indian cuisine with American style food. Their butter chicken flat bread was incredible, carne asada perfection, crab cake sandwich excellent. The Chicken biryani had two chicken necks in it, tasted like an afterthought. Shawarma wrap was average, had pickles and not authentic at all. Fries are now fake from a frozen bag. All disappointing. read more

We noticed them when we were shopping in the Barcroft Plaza. Back at home I looked them up and was checking out their online menu. When I got to the bottom of the menu page I noticed they offered a weekend brunch (Saturday & Sunday, 11AM to 4PM). As a change of pace from our normal weekend routine we decided to give them a try. There was no any piece of meat available, when we complain the girl working there, she brought us chicken pieces from the curry (WHAT A SHAME). So glad I checked out this new little gem tucked away in Barcroft Plaza. My first time I ordered momo (Nepalese dumplings) which were just excellent. Next I tried the butter chicken--delicious, velvety sauce. Today I ordered the crab cake sandwich with an organic leafy green salad and it was amazing! Freshly toasted bun, slabs of perfectly ripe avocado, delicate crab, and the salad was very fresh with a lovely light dressing. Clearly the chef really knows what he's doing with multiple cuisines! They take their time to serve up amazing goodness. I'm a karahi snob and this one gets 2 thumbs way way up! No tomato puree but fresh tomatoes, the chicken was juicy and fresh, tasted different from what we're used to here in the US and more like what it tastes like back home in Lahore. Your food is not the average fair - there is someone special behind the scenes, some genius chef, who knows exactly what they're doing, and it shows. The way you care, it shows. It shows in the way you treat your customers, and in your food, which speaks for itself. Don't get me started on your roasted vegetables. These, I'd expect on a much more expensive plate, they're perfect every single time, not sure how you accomplish this. I called in an order for paneer makhani flatbread. As I was eat the flatbread, I heard a crunchy sound. I pulled out a piece of glass. I was horrified and called the restaurant. I told Depac Tangey (spelled wrong) I had found glass in my food. he did not offer any information about who cooked the flatbread and only said he was sorry. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
