The inside has a diner-but-chic style with an open kitchen, which I always appreciate being able to see what's going on with my food. Amazing brunch spot! Very crowded though, make reservations in advance, preferably well in advance. If you wait until the day before, you may not get your preferred time. We found that out the hard way but it was our fault, not the restaurant's. So we met an hour earlier. Lesson learned. I got the apple pie pancakes and they were amazing and the portions were huge. The biscuits looked good as well, my friend got them as a side, but I can only eat so much. The brisket hash and brisket bennie too. Everything is awesome here. You will not go hungry. They have many delicious apps and sides but you don't need them because the brunch portions are huge. You will have leftovers for one, maybe two more meals. That is a good thing. Only downside is parking is tight. There is a small lot out front, another one out back, and some street parking. You may have to drive around a bit to find it especially at peak hours. And the bathrooms are small. But this is an amazing place so be sure to check it out for brunch! I went here for brunch with a friend on a Sunday and we sat on the patio after a rainy morning. It's a really cute spot! We started with some hot coffee and the apple donuts. The coffee was really good and the donuts were amazing! The raspberry jam was a perfect complement to them. I had the Pulled Pork Marsh Hen Grits Bowl, which was creamy, salty and had a nice little kick. My friend had the Fried Chicken Cobb Salad and said it was delicious (it was huge!). She didn't want the deviled eggs that came with it so she gave them to me and they were really good. The weed stuff was very friendly as we asked to move tables because of the heat and they were very accommodating, even though being fully booked! We ordered delicious Matcha and iced coffees that came out very promptly as well as the cornbread as an appetizer that was to die for! The deviled eggs were also made to perfection! The place is relatively huge with outside seating. Interiors are clean and well lit. I was so hungry. Ruthie's Big Plate was great. It had bacon that was perfectly cooked, beef sausage that was huge, two eggs (any style), biscuits, and home fries (or hash browns). We did have a reservation, but unfortunately still ended up having to sit at the bar because there were no tables available. I'm still not quite sure how I feel about having a reservation and not getting a table... but I'll move right along. :) Once we settled in at the bar, the experience was enjoyable. Ruthie's All Day (RAD) is my new go to spot. I always thought I had to cross the state line to get some really good soulful tasting food. That is not the case after finding RAD. The food here is absolutely amazing. Some of the top-tier choices include the brussels sprouts, collard greens, mac & cheese, ribs, and brisket. You also can't go wrong with their cornbread and biscuits. Please don't think that you can just walk into RAD. I would strongly advise making a reservation. Take a chance and check them out. The food here was so good! I went for brunch and it was crowded and I see why! We opted to sit outside on a very hot and sunny day, but that didn't stop us from trying their hot soup. It was amazing. For more appetizers we had the apple donuts and they a HIT. We actually ordered more to go. The raspberry sauce that it comes with is also delicious. Also, the deviled eggs were 10/10! I order those anytime I see them on the menu and this restaurant did not disappoint. I finally made it here after trying to visit a few times, and it did not disappoint! I went on a Friday just before 11 a.m. to see if I could walk in, but I also made an 11:00 reservation just in case. I learned that they offer a limited brunch menu before 11, and it was noticeably less busy, which made for a really relaxed experience. The food, service, atmosphere, and value were all outstanding. I absolutely loved the chicken biscuit sandwich. The biscuit was soft, buttery, and delicious, actually softer than the biscuits served with Ruthie's Big Plate. (I'm not sure the difference)Speaking of Ruthie's Big Plate, it's generous enough that two people could easily share it, and every item on the plate was delicious. My kids cleaned their plates, which says a lot! The pancakes were also very good, although the apple sauce topping was a little too sweet for my taste. Next time, I'd ask for it on the side. My husband ordered the pulled pork and grits, and they were incredible. Visited Ruthie's all-day on Sunday and I would highly recommend making a reservation. They get very busy and for good reasons too. Nonetheless the staff is super friendly and nice. The breakfast chicken sandwich is so good and flavorful but it's hard to eat as a sandwich with all the sauce and the flaky biscuit so I used fork and knife. I also had their blueberry hibiscus tea and it was so good too. I highly recommend adding the fries to the chicken sandwich too and you won't be disappointed. I have a strong preference for the weekends for this place, the service and food is great during this time and they don't mess up your order during this time. It can be crowded at times but if you go closer to the end of brunch, it empties out slowly. During the busier times it be harder to hold a conversation, but still clean and also has a nice outdoor eating area. During the week is a completely different experience, it is less personal and hit or miss if the lady at the register puts your order in properly. This place is located in a somewhat small lot next to an apartment complex. They have parking directly in front of the location. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the Ruthie's Big Plate which comes with two hearty biscuits, a good portion of eggs, 2 slices of bacon, one piece of sausage and a hearty amount of seasoned roasted potatoes. Overall this is a very filling platter and gives you some of everything. The potatoes were my favorite. The biscuit was cool with some watery jam. Eggs were fresh and scrambled well. Bacon could have been better but Ill take it. My wife ordered the grits with pork which seemed very unique. She didn't care of them too much. The grits are kinda whipped/creamy. She wasn't a big fan. Similar to the devil eggs. Extremely whipped eggs. If you think these are southern comfort you will be sadly mistaken. The service here is top notch. By far the best part of the experience. First timing visiting Ruthie's All Day! We were meeting another couple and planned to dine outside on the patio but the rain had other plans. The Ruthie's team was very accommodating and called us to rebook an inside table for 45 mins after our originally scheduled reservation. However, upon arrival our table wasn't ready. The staff offered us drinks while we waited, which we appreciated in the moment, but we were surprised to see the four coffees we ordered added to our bill. It gave the impression they were being offered as a courtesy, so that was a bit disappointing. We started with the cornbread skillet, which had great reviews online, but unfortunately ours came out dry and didn't quite live up to the hype. The deviled eggs, on the other hand, were really good and a great start to the meal. For entrees, the apple pie pancakes were the clear winner - absolutely delicious and topped with a generous scoop of fresh whipped cream. We made a quick stop at Ruthie's All-Day diner just west of Arlington National Cemetery early afternoon on a Saturday. There's brightly window-lit indoor seating for about 45, and patio seating for about 40 more, all at tables for 2, 4, or 6, with the larger tables combinable for larger groups. The staff was welcoming and efficient. We got there a little before brunch officially ended at 3pm, and just the same, they took our grab-and-go order from the weekend post-3pm "Mid-Day Menu". This one pains me to write because I had really been looking forward to trying Ruthie's All-Day. I'm hoping our experience was just a one-off. The cocktails were just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The meal started off strong with the sharables. The cornbread was good and the apple doughnuts were really good! My daughter ordered the apple pancakes. She felt there were a little too many apples, but said the pancakes themselves were fluffy and cooked just right . She also had a side of hashbrowns she really enjoyed these. My husband had the Big Plate and said the bacon and potatoes were both extremely tasty I ordered the steak frites and unfortunately it was the most disappointing part of the meal. The steak had absolutely no seasoning and very little flavor. The fries weren't hot and seemed a bit overcooked, and the chimichurri sauce was extremely underwhelming and also lacked flavor. That said, I did really enjoy the atmosphere. We sat inside but the windows were opened creating a flow from the inside dining area to the outside space. Even though the place gets really busy, the restaurant itself is quite large, so you don't feel cramped and the energy feels fun instead of overwhelming. We tried their oyster dish to start -- it comes with 5 pieces and they're on the smaller side, but beautifully presented just like everything else that came out. Honestly, every plate here looks like it was made for photos. My favorite was definitely the tri-tip steak paired with my vegetable side. The portion was so generous that it fed me for dinner and again the next morning. Flavorful, tender, and just overall satisfying. Service was quick, friendly, and super on top of things even during the dinner rush.
