Whenever I go to Cava, I feel like I'm doing something tasty and convenient, reasonably priced and also healthy.  It's hard to go wrong with all that. Maybe that is why there are so many local locations.  This day we went to the Alexandria Cava and found a very large, clean and airy space.  The parking is a big lot right out front so it is all super easy.  The staff was helpful and friendly and the service was quick.  We chose one falafel bowl and one with harissa honey chicken.  We have no shame when it comes to the toppings so there were a lot of crunchy and spicy and creamy and you name it flavors and textures to add which makes each bit a little different and a lot enjoyable.  Cava quick serve is definitely a go to choice read more

Wife wanted to try, so we tried. Plenty of parking, nice, bright and spacious dining area. Clean restrooms. Open concept for kitchen with views of all the food preparation. Friendly Staff who was above & beyond helpful after we let him know it was our first time. (Zaki) was his name (pretty sure). He walked us through the whole ordering process. Options are many from choice of greens to meat with everything in between. You build your own creation or can choose from Fan Favorites. You can be basic or build a monster with additional add-ons. It can add up quickly so watch out. We did two bowels with side of pita chips, two cups for water. About $40 - the food is fresh & delicious (best Falafel that I have had) and per my wife healthy. Rude service! The african american manager very aggressive & has no csr skills. This is a lamb bowl that's $3.85 upcharge & for extra lamb another $8.00 total cost is $23 for this one bowl according to her!!! Everytime I visit she has a snarly attitude, rude undertone. I complete agree with the other reviews, saw it first hand today. The big guy Luis Rivera who works there is extremely rude to customers, and the short old lady as well. The short old lady was serving a pair of nurses, 2 people in front of me, and kept rolling her eyes, hemming and hawing, and being too fast throwing stuff in their plates. Then when she started serving a Spanish couple in front of me she switched over to speaking Spanish and started to complain about the customer that was 4 feet away. Ridiculous. My wife ordered a bowl, and the lady dropped my wife's pita on the ground out of site. She quickly picked it up and put it back in the bag. My wife kindly asked for a new pita and she became angered, gave my wife a mean look and rolled her eyes. All because she herself dropped the pita bread. The guy Luis Rivera was worse, I asked for a side of garlic sauce and he threw his hands up in the air like he was annoyed, paced back and forth, and got the side (which took 5 seconds) he walked back over and aggressively slid it to me. It almost went right off his table. No eye contact just he just walked away. These employees here suck, probably the rudest CAVA employees ever. They are here to serve food, be kind, be clean. If you don't want to do that then leave.... I felt bad for everyone that I watched in line. A friend of mine recommended this place to me, and told me it was better than Chipotle; It sure was. However, if as a brand they want to dominate their competitors' service, they are going to have to do much better with their portions. They gave me 1 tbsp of dry chicken and 10 oz of garlic sauce . 1 slice of Avacado and 2 falfael. The kale was chewy and the rice was dry. You would think the sauces would save the food. I called my spouse on my way home and he asked me to bring lunch (gotta get to the store today). I stopped at CAVA on Sunday at about 1pm and got us two bowls. His had supergreens, brown rice, braised lamb and all the toppings that weren't spicy. Mine was supergreens, lamb meatballs and all the vegetable toppings. I was VERY happy with mine and my hubs loved his, too ! The staff was super helpful with advising me on non-spicy items for him. This CAVA is clean, with great customer service, and I could not believe they turned down a tip. I had no idea that Cava's came this big!!! This location is bigger than most of the other locations I have been to. While the inside is spacious, the seating is standard in the amount of seating to take advantage of. This might also be the first time I was able to walk into a location and there was no line, like at all. The meal maker who made out bowls was a gem. She was so polite and nice and when I advised her that I wanted lentils, she stirred the lentils in the pot and I think we both noticed there was no steam coming from them as she circled the spoon around. She asked if I could wait one second and she went and grabbed a dish of hot lentils and scooped those into my bowl as well. I did notice that nothing on the bar is labeled, not he meats, not the toppings, like nothing and some of the greens options were missing or just not in the realm of selection, so if you have never been to a Cava location before, you'd be lost in the sauce, big time!! Checking out was a breeze as the same person checked us out that made our bowls, she kept the assembly line moving from start to finish. Location is clean, bathrooms are clean as well and the staff was friendly. One note, if you decide to sit by the window now that the temps have dropped it can get rather cold as you dine, so I suggest choosing another place to sit. read more

I do not normally rate chains but the staff did a really good job explaining the ingredients. We ordered the steak mezze salad and spicy lamb meatball pita sandwich. Cava is my new favorite spot! I wish we had one at home in Connecticut. I would be here all the time. It's like a healthy version of chipotle but better. I love Greek food and it definitely has a Greek twist. I usually stick with the Greek salad and make customizations according to what I might be craving! You can order ahead online or go through the line. If it's your first time there I definitely recommend going through the line so you can see the difference items. After so much raving about this place, I finally gave it a try. Once I walked in I was already confused with so much space and very limited seating. We made our way to the ordering station. Our meals were to eat in. I start my order, mixed greens and brown rice. I literally saw the server counting the spinach leaves as she placed on my bowl, barely covered by HALF a serving spoon of brown rice. I was already getting ready to what was to come next. The items are not labeled so of course I have to interact with the server to ask what's what. While I am trying to figure out if the items I'm looking at have or not tomato (since I have an allergy) at no time did the servers offer to assist letting me know what they had in front of them. On the contrary, they were looking at me with this rushed looked and talking among each other in Spanish (yeah, I guess I don't look Hispanic enough to understand). I asked for lamb meat, they were quick to let me know it was going to be an extra price. By now my plate looks so empty and I'm not even sure if I want to keep ordering. Added maybe 5 other ingredients cause nothing else looked appeasing and the bothered looks of the servers did not make for a pleasant ordering. Right behind me, my friend was ordering his bowl all along telling me, "it's so different then the one I go to in Crystal City, over there is better. I'm sorry I brought you here. It was because of him that I wanted to finally try out CAVA, the one that is closer to me. We paid, walked away with our mostly empty bowls, headed to the service area to get our utensils and water, this corner was extremely messy and full of bowls, place was pretty empty. We TRIED to eat. There was no way I could have more then two bites of my bowl mix. The taste was like eating a spoon full of vinegar. I questioned myself if it was just one bite. Mixed the bits of what I had in my bowl, because I did not have enough greens nor rice to give my bowl consistency, the sauce of the lamb, the pickled onions and cucumbers made for a inedible mushy mix. Next I hear my friend say, "Don't eat it, we can go somewhere else. This food does not taste like what I normally order and I can't eat this. It doesn't taste right". We got up, trashed the food and was out. A few minutes before, we questioned ourselves if we should go say something, however, I preferred to just leave as my whole Duke St. CAVA experience from the moment I started ordering, was a disaster. Cava is a solid choice for Mediterranean-style food for people who want to know what they're eating in a fast/casual setting. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. It's also reasonably priced. When you go in, you pick your arrangement. I picked with "super greens" and brown rice as my "base." Next, I added harissa (nicely spicy--tomatoes and peppers) and my protein choice was roasted chicken. I topped that with carrots+currents, pickled onions, kalamata olives, cabbage slaw, cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, tomato+cucumber salad and pickeled banana peppers. Finally, I chose lemon herb tahini. Usually, you also get pita bread, but I waved that off. I could not eat the whole thing and it was very tasty. Boyfriend had a similar bowl, but didn't add rice and added several of the dairy-full items. The people behind the counter are very helpful, letting you know, if you ask, if there is dairy or gluten in something. Also, there's an easy guide for people to figure out what's in the ingredients available (see picture). The only weak point was the drinks. We got fountain drinks. The artisanal fountain sodas were fine. I had the root beer. They had some unusual choices, like blueberry soda. Not my favorite. BF had the cucumber mint tea (after trying and rejecting the rest of the lemonaides and flavored teas). Last, the floor was sticky to walk on. But, that's really getting picky, because the rest of the place was spotless. Someone could have spilled something right before we arrived. There are many, many options for gluten-free and dairy-free diets. It's very tasty and the portions are great. This is definitely a place that we'll return to. I like it a lot. read more

I love CAVA as a whole and this location has put together one of the freshest and fullest bowls I've had to date! I ordered take away for 11:45 on a weekday. It was not packed at all when I arrived to pick up my order , but there is ample seating if packed. The interior is very spacious. My order was ready upon arrival. Customer service was great! I was immediately greeted and I was offered a complimentary pita with the order. I ordered my usual: arugula with grilled chicken, Fresno peppers, Kalamata olives, tomatoes and onions, tomatoes and cucumbers with tzatziki, red pepper hummus, and eggplant and red pepper dips. On the side dressings: spicy sriracha Greek yogurt and cucumber dill yogurt. Ingredients were plentiful including the chicken, which was seasoned well and not burned. I must admit that I eat way too much Cava! As a "clean" eater I can't go wrong here. I love the quality and the great service. I typically order a bowl with "super greens", lentils, chicken, hummus, and all the pickled toppings, finished off with green harissa dressing. The housemade drinks are also a favorite of mine. They are lightly sweetened without corn syrup or fake sugar. Definitely try the Ginger Lime Tumeric. This is a nice sized location with ample seating even during the lunch rush and the dining room and bathrooms are exceptionally clean.
