You see the chickens rotating in the wood fired ovens and smell the aroma of the grilled chicken. Ordering a whole chicken (comes with two sides) runs around $25 which is more than you would pay in a grocery store but the taste is so delicous. When we have visitors, we order their chicken which always proves to be a highlight. My wife is a rice lover so I get the rice as a side each time and beans on occasion. Always a hit. Given our fitness training and need for white meat or chicken breast, we often order the whole white chicken with two sides. Like I said, love this place and will return.

Their yucca used to be really good too, and wasn't as starchy as the other chicken pollo spots, but when I had it today, it was the same as all the other spots. Thick and starchy, when they used to be definitely more smooth and you can bite through it. Not sure if it's how they prepare it, the type of yucca they use, or what, but it's not the same. The chicken quality also slightly went down from when I last remembered, which is quite unfortunate. I came for late lunch so the lunch crowd was still there, but sad to say, I probably won't be coming back and trying a new spot instead. Thanks for the good memories in the early 2000's.

The chicken was tender and juicy, seasoned to perfection as always. The coleslaw was creamy with a nice acidity, but the yuca fries were stale and hard. My fork genuinely had a hard time poking through them, so I gave up halfway. Besides the yuca fries, everything else was pretty good. Still, I prefer the Arlington location, where you can smell the roasted chicken a couple blocks away when the wind blows just the right direction.
