Yindee Thai Fried Rice
Se C.

Yindee Thai is located in the West Springfield shopping mall on the intersection of old keen mill and rolling road where Whole Foods used to be. They decorated it to match the season and I liked the atmosphere in here. The servers were all very nice and repeated the order to make sure it was correct. I came on a Sunday (party of two) but noticed that they had a weekday lunch special for a reasonable price. There was ample seating. We ordered the Yindee fried rice with shrimp and chicken and drunken noodles with seafood. It came inside of a pineapple half as I've seen with many other Thai restaurants. The pineapples were fresh and complimented the salty/savory dish. The shrimp and chicken were very good. The cashew nuts gave a nice change in texture without being overly hard. The drunken noodles had a nice texture but not sure about the freshness of the scallops and mussels. Overall food quality was 4/5. Service was 5/5.

Tom Yum Soup chicken. Super large portion with lots of chicken and noodles.

I found Yindee Thai on a rainy weekend. When I came in I was greeted and seated. The dining room is very nice and just enough. Not to big not to small. Ther is a nicely appointed bar area with plenty of seating. Very nice ambiance. I usually order dumplings and shrimp pad thai. I decided to try something different. I had the tom yum soup with chicken and dumplings. The soup is a huge serving. It stayed hot and was very flavorful. Same with the dumplings. Service was attentive without hovering too much. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. This is a hidden gem.

Festive!

The food is delicious!!! The place is clean and the staff is super friendly!! All the ingredients used in my food that I ordered I could tell was fresh. You can let them know what degree of spiciness you want. I really loved the Kaprow and the drunken noodles, also the Tom Yum soup was amazing!! Definitely coming back. I highly recommend this place!!

Good food. Can be ordered with mild spices. We like the green chicken curry. The lettuce rolls are very good too.

Great Thai food! We order almost every other week if not every week! Favorite dish is the Pad Thai with chicken.

Very wonderful hidden gem Thai restaurant in Springfield…read more Quiet and clean interior with comfortable seating options - booths and tables. Very friendly staff who checked in with us before the rest of our group arrived, making sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious - at the table we shared dumplings, red curry, crunchy pork belly, and pad thai. The servings were just enough for a hungry belly with no appetizers, with the exception of the pad thai - lots of volume there! Red curry medium spice wasn't too spicy at all, it was perfect. I don't visit this area often, but I am really glad we stopped in to try Thai Ghang Waan!

The servers are friendly and helpful. Since it is relatively far and hard to get to without GPS guiding. We decided to get a selection to try. We got the Yum Woonsen, Koh Moo Yang (Grill pork strips), Pla Num Pla, Floating Market Noodle (Boat noodle soup) with pork, and Ba Mee Haeng (Dry egg noodles, very well seasoned noodles). The portions are generous and properly seasoned. Only minor miss for me was there is a bit too much raw onion in the Yum Woonsen. If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood Thai restaurant at an affordable price, well worth a drive to Springfield. Would definitely go back to try out some of their other dishes.

With a little persistence and a short walk, I found a spot. Walking in to the restaurant, there is a small greeting counter. No one was there and so we walked to the back. You don't see the tables when walking into the place, I suspect the kitchen is along side the hallway leading to the tables. The ambiance is friendly, casual with the tables and booths well spaced to provide privacy. The restaurant was relatively empty during our meal and the noise level was comfortable, allowing us to have conversation easily. Thai food is one of my two favorite and I am always looking for a new place to be inspired. I put Thai Cafe on my list of places that I'll return to. I started my meal with Tom Yum Seafood soup. The flavor was really excellent. Two minor things for me: I like soup warm and not hot. For me, the temp was perfect but for other people who like their soup really hot, it probably wasn't hot enough. The other issue is 'how spicy does this restaurant prepare their food?' The soup was 1 pepper, which was a bit milder than I prefer, but accurate. I added a bit more spice. I chose the vegetarian Kapow Pak. The dish is prepared in a brown sauce which frankly isn't my favorite. But it was really good. The veges were fresh, crisp and crunchy, and the tofu was wonderfully lightly fried. The dish is described as medium spicy, reasonably accurate. My friend chose the Pad Woon Sean with chicken. I didn't try it but he said it was a 10/10. The staff were friendly, helpful, and helped me select my dish. This is a family business that's been open for about 30 years. The servers were totally wonderful. I will certainly be back.

I came here with a friend for lunch on a Thursday. I was relieved to see several patrons already there especially since this location feels more like an unassuming, off the beaten path, dilapidated, truck stop, hole in the wall. I ordered the Pad Thai lunch combo with the side salad and boy was the dressing on the salad sensational. It was sophisticatedly sweet and packed full of umami. I think I could eat that all day. When the Pad Thai arrived, I was also pleasantly surprised with the taste; however, two things struck me as very odd -- the thin noodles and white color! It did not have the familiar reddish look of tamarind which I thought was essential for Pad Thai. Regardless, it was delicious and I ate everything. Not a single morsel of food was left. If i weren't eating with polite company, I would have probably slurped the remaining dressing from the salad bowl. I'm definitely coming back and it shouldn't be difficult because the prices seem fairly inexpensive.

As far as I can tell that's the only place they cut corners. The pad see ew I first had was lovely, great value on the spring rolls, my wife had the green thai curry and it was phenomenal. I unfortunately didn't have a great pad Thai experience the second time, it was a little bit of a funky flavor and smell that was a little off-putting. I definitely believe it was a one off based on the consistency of everything else coming out of the kitchen. We finished up our second take out order with a Buddha salad and by the time I turned around it was gone! It was highly recommended by my wife... I'll have to try it some time. :) I highly recommend trying this place out!
