Fried E12. Crispy Seafood Paradise

I will start by saying food is delicious. Unfortunately the last couple times I've ordered the Crispy seafood paradise we have received less food than before. The first times I ordered seafood the container was filled. This is what we got today. Each piece was much smaller than before and the amount served was definitely not what has been served in the past. In the past the container was filled and the sauce has been place outside of the container. I guess this time, since they gave so little they placed it inside the container in attempts to make it look fuller? I have ordered this meal multiple times because it is delicious and the amount served was decent. But honestly, today was the last time.

Panang curry

I went for lunch expecting to be able to dine in, sign on door said "take out or delivery only" No big deal. I went in and ordered to go. Service was quick, friendly, greatly portion sizes. I ordered the Panang curry. Definitely will be back..

Went here for the first time off of the reviews, but was disappointed!! Not understanding the Yelp reviews, on this one, huh? Disclaimer: Everything came out fresh and hot! I ordered: - Pad Thai that came with chicken and shrimp - Veggie Rolls (fried) - Thai Tea 1) Pad Thai- Didn't have any flavor and wasn't a lot of food 2) Veggie Rolls- Only comes with (3) and had No flavor a. Even the dipping sauce that it comes with had no flavor 3) Thai Tea- Ok (I've had better) There just wasn't a lot of food, and there was no flavor what so ever!! Food was very bland I won't be back...

Ka pow - seafood
Jennifer W.

I went today for lunch as a recommendation from my colleague and the food is delicious . I had seafood ka pow and it was great. I'm bias because I love Thai and this was flavorful. I just wish they put more seafood in my order. I ordered seafood fried rice to go and I look forward to eating today. It's right off Richmond highway in Alexandria and parking is free so I'll be back.

They walked us to our table and was so accommodating. On an extremely hot day like today (103F) it was refreshing to walk into a nice cool and nicely lit and decorated place. It was very relaxing. The parking was off the street and is free for 2 hours. There were plenty of spots available just at the front of the restaurant. We ordered the Whole Fried Flounder and the Massaman Curry with shrimp and for dessert the Magnolia Creme Crepe. I am partial to good Crepe dessert... and this place offered different selection. A plus! The food was freshly prepared and was very tasty. I would recommend trying this place out. You will not be disappointed.

4 stars for the food 4 stars for the ambiance…read more3 stars for the service on the water refills, which was sporadic at best. Last night I brought a couple of friends over to the Sisters Thai in Alexandria ... because I had had good experiences in the past. We were seated at our table of four, and had to wait 20 mins to be served water from the start. That was unusual - and although the restaurant was busy it was not packed, so the delay was odd. We ordered the food which was great - high recommendations for the branzino, the crispy eggplant, the roti curry and the mango & sticky rice. The water service was challenging; at one point during the meal when a server came to do a refill, she spilled the water on the table near the food dishes - apologized - but didn't clean up! (It was not a few drops - it was a sizeable amount that warranted wiping up since our group had to reach over for the food dishes in the center). She took off after right after spilling it - and didn't come back! So I eventually caught the eye of another sever and asked for the water to be wiped down. The evening went on - the meal really noteworthy ... but water was clearly becoming more and more of an issue - and this was critical especially considering that the roti curry was spicy! After yet another 20 minutes of trying to catch the eye of anyone with a pitcher I had to get up and request water from the bar area. So although the evening was pleasant it was somewhat disruptive with this lack of coordination - which is really is a basic of any establishment. I would go back again for the food - although I'm disappointed that I brought friends along to try the restaurant and the service was not as expected. As I write this I want to add that if it was a one-off with a water delay I would understand - but it was consistently overlooked, without a spillage being wiped promptly that started to create a less than satisfactory experience. Thank you in advance to the Sisters Thai for more training for their staff on enhancing the customer experience.

We have sat at pretty much every table, the patio, and the bar, and there's not a bad seat in the house. They also have excellent happy hour specials that include not only food but also drinks. We usually start with appetizers including crab Rangoon, garden rolls, calamari, or chicken satay. For mains, we explore the menu, but our favorites (so far) have been the gra prao moo grob (crispy pork belly), drunken noodle, and panang curry. They even have a special "Thai Street Food" menu with some unique options. If you're hosting an event, Thanida can accommodate large parties on the far side of the restaurant. They also do take out. For the record, we arrived after 10 PM, so I want to be fair about the timing but if you're open and serving, the experience should still meet a reasonable standard. Unfortunately, ours didn't. Seating was confusing from the start. No one greeted us at the entrance or hostess stand, we were directed upstairs, and again no one greeted us. We eventually had to flag someone down just to get seated. The calamari looked and tasted as though it had been sitting for days chewy and rubbery. None of us liked it, so we sent it back. No replacement was offered, and it still appeared on our bill until we asked to have it removed. My cashew chicken had the same not-fresh taste. One sister had the peanut chicken and barely touched it, while my other sister said her tofu Pad Thai was decent. The cocktails were mediocre, and once they were finished, no one asked if we'd like another. Our water was refilled, but otherwise there was very little checking on our table. Even the sauces and peppers we requested smelled and tasted stale.

Great Food....& Ambiance to match!…read more I am slightly obsessed with visiting Thai restaurants around the DMV and this one does not disappoint. Set in Alexandria, off the 495 corridor, is Pasara Thai restaurant featuring a casual dining experience and vibe with interesting tables with wood carvings and artwork throughout. The lighting is nice and you can find intimate settings for a date night or tables large enough for friends and family. The food menu is crazy big, extensive and seems to have something for everyone. The food is usually quite spicy, so if it isn't your thing, as for mild flavoring! Everything I have ordered from the pad Thai, curry Thai dishes and roasted duck have been delicious....full of flavor and of great portions for the price point. This time around, I placed an order to go for dinner later, and the staff was so nice. I ordered Roasted Duck Basil & Fried Crab-Shrimp Balls. The duck dish was one of the best I have ever had. It had the right amount of spice, heat and flavor. Not to mention, loaded with stir-fry vegetable and a sauce that was finger-licking good.....simply, delicious!! Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

Review of Kisso Asian Bistro in Old Town Alexandria Kisso Asian Bistro…read moreThis review is difficult for me to write because the food at Kisso Asian Bistro is genuinely very good. In fact, that's the reason I've continued coming back over the years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is no longer enough for me to overlook the way I've repeatedly been treated. My most recent visit was with my mother, and it was her first time dining here. Because of experiences I've had in the past, I made a conscious effort to be exceptionally pleasant from the moment we walked in. I smiled, spoke respectfully, maintained a friendly attitude, and went out of my way to ensure that my behavior could not be mistaken for the problem. Quite honestly, I was friendlier than I normally would be because I wanted to be fair. Despite that effort, I never felt welcomed. As I sat there, I watched the restaurant fill up with customers. My mother and I were the only Black customers in the restaurant at the time. By itself, that wouldn't have meant anything to me. But as the evening went on, I couldn't help but notice the difference in the way we were treated compared to many of the other guests. I watched people receive smiles, warm greetings, friendly conversation, and genuine hospitality. Yet when it came to our table, the energy felt completely different. One waitress in particular was cold, dismissive, and visibly unpleasant throughout our interaction. She never introduced herself, never displayed the warmth I saw extended to others, and consistently gave the impression that our presence was an inconvenience. What made the experience even more disappointing was that I wasn't imagining it. My mother noticed it too. More than once, she looked at me, and I could tell she was seeing the same thing I was seeing. Neither of us said anything because it was her first visit, and we wanted to give the restaurant every opportunity to prove us wrong. This also was not my first experience with this type of treatment. I have noticed it before, and I have even mentioned my concerns to management in the past. I kept coming back because the food is good, and I wanted to believe these experiences were isolated incidents. After this visit, I no longer believe that. What stood out most was the lack of basic customer service. No one came by to check on our table. When I asked for lemon, the look I received was so sour and dismissive that it genuinely caught me off guard. It felt as though I was inconveniencing someone simply by making a basic request. The expression alone made me feel unwelcome. The truth is that experiences like this are hurtful. When you walk into a business in good faith, prepared to spend your hard-earned money, you expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Instead, I left feeling as though my presence was not appreciated. As an African American customer, I could not ignore the difference between how we were treated and how others around us were treated. Whether intentional or not, that was my experience. More importantly, it wasn't the first time. I also want to address the issue of tipping. I am generally a generous tipper. I routinely leave above-average tips for average service because I understand how hard restaurant work can be. Even when service falls short, I usually still leave something and often explain my concerns respectfully. This time, I left no tip. Not because I forgot. Not because I couldn't afford it. I left no tip because I did not feel that I received service beyond having food brought to the table. There was no hospitality, no attentiveness, no effort to make us feel welcome, and no indication that our business was appreciated. I paid for my meal, and honestly, that felt like all I received. I hope management takes this review seriously. This is not coming from a first-time visitor looking for something to complain about. It is coming from someone who has returned multiple times, raised concerns before, and continued giving the restaurant chances because the food is genuinely good. This review is not written out of anger. It is written out of disappointment. The food is excellent. The customer service, at least in my experience, has repeatedly fallen far short of what customers deserve. After giving this restaurant multiple chances and voicing my concerns before, I have decided to spend my money elsewhere. I hope others read this review and make their own informed decisions. As for me, I am simply tired of paying to feel unwelcome
