But to spend over $30 for delivery and the restaurant can't be bothered to give soy sauce packets, utensils OR a fortune cookie!? Just pure laziness. Nah...I spent over $50 and I'm mad. I ordered pan fried dumplings and I got steamed. I ordered oan fried noodles and I got a brick of noodles. The spring rolls were so small and tasteless. Even the fortune cookies were wack! They were stale. Only thing good was the egg drop soup. Waste of money. There is room to improve and be the best Chinese food place in this area because there are NONE. All Chinese food restaurants in and around Reston are trash. The one star rating is really not for the food. The food is adequate for a quick meal. However, I caution checking your account and what they charge your card. They added an additional $5.00 when they processed the card! For that reason alone I will not order from them again. I've ordered their (92) Beef with spring onion, (77) General Tso's Chicken, and (33) Combination fried rice two through Uber eats. Beef was flavorful and tender and the General Tso's was very flavorful also. Mostly breaded in good portion to chicken, and not overly breaded. Combo fried rice was delicious as well. These are the best egg rolls I've had in years. There was talk of divorce over the last egg roll....China House egg rolls were so bad- we had to throw them away (wife spit it out). Chin's Szechuan Beef (spicy)- very tasty with depth. Not as spicy as I like, but flavorful & enjoyable. China House- just tasted bad. Not much flavor, but what was there was very unpleasant. Chin's Hot/Sour soup- again, flavorful with depth. Some of the best Hot/Sour soup I've had in a long time. China House- one dimensional & bland, not enjoyable at all, but the most edible thing we got from them. Yum! As far as Chinese food is concerned, we have a new takeout Sheriff in town. Chin's Kitchen seems to rule the day with a menu that is a fusion of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese cuisines. My order arrived within about 25 minutes, and for some reason, they threw in two spring rolls; not sure why, but maybe they sensed that I was a good little Yelper last year. More than likely though, it was because this was my first time ordering from them, for the girl on the phone had asked me that very question. My order of Beef Pad Thai and Crab Meat Rangoon was delicious, and surprisingly, absent of grease. Therefore, my meal had a light, healthy feel to it, but the portions were large enough so that I could easily make two meals out of my order . The flavor of my Pad Thai was subtle and not overpowering, which can happen when this dish is not made properly. My Crab Meat Rangoon was some of the best I have ever had, for it was cooked to perfection. I will certainly order from Chin's Kitchen again; this place is a takeout delight. a solid 4.5 stars. Next time I plan on trying out some of their sushi selections. I mean who doesn't love a California Roll or how about their delicious-sounding Dragon Roll? I'm not a big fan of fast food or Chinese Carry-Out of any sort but I have to admit this place is actually good...people say sometimes the food be the best when it's coming from a hole in a wall place, well that saying is true. I love their General Tso Chicken- I think I spelled it wrong but oh well... I always order their shrimps LoMein and I add extra shrimps and vegetables like broccoli, baby corns and mushrooms. Their Hot and Sour soup is good. Chicken and Corn soup is alright. Asparagus and Crabmeat is alright too, not the same as mom and grandma cooking but it'll do. I was getting my hair done at Veronicas hair salon and walked outside for a quick breath of air (been waiting for an hour and it wasn't my turn anytime soon). As I came out the good smell got my attention so I went to browse their menu. Needless to say, they have their typical Chinese carryout set up. However, today I received my order with Peas & Carrots, which had never been in ANY PREVIOUS ORDER OF FRIED RICE I RECIEVED FROM THEM. I called back to inform them of an error with my order. And the person who answered basically called me a "LIAR" stating I never received Fried Rice from them that did not include Peas & Carrots. NO LONGER CAN THEY HAVE MY BUSINESS!!! Long Time User No More I have been ordering from Chins for close to 20 yrs, maybe more, and always had great food..until recently. A month ago I ordered and everything was awful. But being a long time patron I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a one time fluke thing, perhaps a sub chef, equipment broken down, any one of many things that are not normal. So I ordered from Chins last night, and sorry to report it was even worse. Ordered fried dumplings that were overcooked, burned. Smelled awful once the container was opened. Fried rice that was bland and tasteless, white rice seemed like it was Minute Rice. And General Tso's Chicken that did not taste anything as it should, very orangie, no ginger, fat too sweet, just not good at all...Tso's was always my favorite and I thought did it better than any I'd ever had. Not any more. Ended up throwing out three quarters of the food I am sorry to say. Saddened that what was one of my favorite take out food sources is not worth using any more. Will shop around for Chinese food next time, and avoid ordering here. read more

TVP General Tso's Chicken was good. Nice flavor on the sauce, great texture to the faux meat. But overbreaded. And two spears of broccoli? Come on, I actually *like* the stuff. Shrimp Mooshu was also good. Lots and lots of shrimp, al dente veggies. But the pancakes were too thick and the Hoisin sauce was salty to the point of distraction. Home Style Tofu was terrible. Straight.Terrible. I'll polish off just about anything you put on my plate, but I left my entire serving behind. The tofu was cooked well, and there were tons of interesting vegetables. But the sauce tasted really weird. Like the rhino cage at the zoo smells. Prices were really reasonable, tho, and delivery was quick. I give up. There's no use attempting to find better Americanized Chinese than our tried-and-true standby we've patronized for over ten years. Class ends at 10pm, which, inconveniently enough, is the exact time that my favorite Chinese place closes. As I sadly drove on by, I saw a beacon of hope in neon form shining from Chin's, which doesn't close until 10:30pm! Stellar! Only, when I walked in at 10:20pm, they were already closing up shop and the only thing available to me was the soup. Fair enough. It was late and I was hungry. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry enough. The wonton soup was not my thing at all. It was a little spicy and just so not my style. I guess the late hour didn't help, what with stale crunchies and all. Unwilling to be deterred by a single cup of soup, I vowed to try again and I did. Last Friday, I slogged through traffic and sleet, drove past my usual spot and sidled up to the counter to order an actual meal (to take home, because this place is pretty much carry out only). So, wisely, I skipped the soup and ordered the sesame chicken dinner platter (fried rice and egg roll included) along with a side of shrimp toast. The shrimp toast comes as an order of two, which was a little disappointing, but they tasted okay. The sesame chicken was terrific, but the fried rice left much to be desired, while the eggroll was KILLER!! Oh, and when I asked for extra duck sauce, I got a fistful of the stuff. Zero complaints there, and everyone was so friendly! I would like to say I'd eat at Chin's again, but I'm not sure.... my spot is just so my spot, you know?
