I've ordered from pretty much every Chinese food place in the area and this is my go-to!! The ingredients are always fresh and the delivery is lightning fast. I'm from NYC, so I love when I can count on quick service. My favorites are the Triple Delight (usually get 2/3 meals out of the dinner combo special), the Orange Beef and Walnut Shrimp. I do really like their ribs, but they are sometimes not all super thick. I still order them though because their prices are also very reasonable. I'm not sure if some of their competitors are losing their minds on too much MSG, as some of them charge almost double for what PEKING EXPRESS does. They also have their own website and you can create an account so that this small business can retain their profits and keep us (as their customer's), costs down. If you're looking for a classic American Chinese restaurant then look no further. There are a number of reasons why I'd rate this 5/5. The prices are very fair for the entrees. The portions are quite generous and to-go containers are filled. Every dish I thought was delicious and I ordered a variety of dishes to eat throughout the week. Chicken dishes are the crispy gone soggy texture. I'm not bothered by this. The dishes that weren't sauced had a good crispy texture. The only item I thought was maybe a little lackluster was the rangoons. It's just a folded wonton with cream cheese, but dipped in the sweet and sour sauce... still delicious. The shrimp toast was nice and crispy... a little oily, but overall very little to complain about. The fried rice that you get in the dinner specials I might pass on and just go with the white rice. The chow fun was very good. I'd say this is a must order. Even the following day warmed up the noodles were able to separate and did not stick together like a blob. For the price/value for Chinese takeout I think this spot is fantastic. I quite regularly get their combination egg foo young and I highly recommend it. I think this is one of the best Chinese take out restaurants I have been to for the price and quality! Chinese food has become more expensive these days, but this place manages to give reasonable prices for great food. The sesame chicken is juicy and saucy. My favorite item would be the sesame chicken dinner special because it is such a nice deal. The shrimp with cashew is very saucy and greasy, but that is what makes Chinese food good. If I were to complain about the food, it would be the lo mien and fried rice. The lo mien was too bland, I needed multiple soy sauce packets. The fried rice that came with the dinner special was plain with no vegetables or garnishes. However, it is worth getting it without any upcharge from white rice. read more

I'm confused on the name of this restaurant. The receipts says "Ho Kim" and locals call it "Hos" but the outside name says "Peking Chinese " and the website is under "Peking express".... Idk... I love a reasonably priced carry out and Peking was just that. The quantity of the food was very much appreciated aswell. The Mumbo sauce was classic. And I enjoyed the spicy sauce on my shrimp and broccoli. Some things that I didn't enjoy was the Mushy over cooked shrimp. The shrimp were so soft it crumbled like a mashed potato. And that's a no -No... horrible shrimp... The wings had a weird after taste and the meat tasted a little rubbery.. (kinda through me off with that.) Some of the best Moo Shu pork that I have eaten. The sauce was not too sweet and the veggies and pork had a smoky depth of flavor. The egg roll had a complex flavor too, robust and crispy. All the food we ordered was freshly cooked and tasty. The family who owns the restaurant was very welcoming and hospitable when we chose to eat there instead of doing takeout. Ordered food for delivery from Peking Express. We ordered steamed pork dumplings, Pork Lo Mein, Beef Chow Foon, General Tso's Shrimp, and Honey Sesame Shrimp. Their delivery was SOO fast. We received our order 20 minutes before we were expecting it which was great. The pork dumplings are a bit different now than what I had ordered previously. The wrappers are a bit more delicate now. The filling and the dipping sauce still tasted good and I would definitely order it again The General Tso's Shrimp had good flavor. For me, I found that the sauce was too watery and I would have enjoyed if it was a bit thicker. The shrimps were big however didn't have a nice crisp from being fried. The Honey Sesame Shrimp also had good flavors however was missing the crispiness. I am always a fan of their lo mein and their portions are always big so I always have leftovers. For their Beef Chow Foon, i was disappointed as it was pretty bland. I will probably try to recook it with more flavors and seasonings. read more

We're on the search for a new Chinese takeout and gave it a try. Ordered pork dumplings, shrimp toast, egg rolls, wonton soup, chicken lo mein, and a beef w/ broccoli combo. The lo mein was good and though the wontons were a little small, the soup was really good as well. The fried rice in the combo was interesting as it looked pretty plain, but had better flavor than expected. Shrimp toast was also pretty good; decent size, not too greasy. The other stuff was just kind of ok with the egg rolls being something I might not order again. Nothing was bad, just not the same as the kinds of flavors I was shooting for. BEST Chinese Take Out place in this area... I know because my boyfriend and I order a lot of take out and we've tried every menu that was sent to us and every place within a deliverable radius of us. This is now our go-to Chinese take out place. TOP Dishes: + Fried dumplings - the filling inside is really delicious and the flour skin is not too thin or thick. The sauce they give you is so much better than regular soy sauce. + Wonton Soup - REAL Wontons. Look at the pics attached. I have never found another place that gives you legit chinese wontons with the thin wrapper and lots of meat filling. This place is for realz. Also, for a small, sometimes they give you 3-4 wontons!! (other places give you like 1-2). + Mongolian Beef - suuuuch flavors! Really yummy meat and sauce and lots of onions. + Beef with Peppers & Onions - same as above but in a different sauce. Just as delicious. Hearty portion of meat and veggies. (They only reason they don't get 5 stars is because their General Tso's chicken is not good so we've just stayed away from it.) I always order the Singapore noodles and the Triple Delight as a benchmark in comparing Chinese take out places. Unfortunately, the Singapore noodles dish was a little too salty for my standards, but they got my customized triple delight perfectly. For someone who grew up working in many Chinese take out restaurants and loves it like most people love pizza, this place definitely has my approval! You can't find many find many restaurants that still offers lunch specials for under 7 bucks, especially not in the NoVA area, which includes a spring roll and a choice between fried rice or white rice. This is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant. I love that they deliver but hate the long wait time. The egg rolls are to die for and the sesame chicken is consistently good. The dishes I ate were just OK -not great. However, one of the entrees had some sort of stone like slate in it -not sure if it was part of a broken dish or what but it crunched while I ate it and broke into smaller pieces. I did swallow some of it by mistake and initially though it was uncooked rice but immediately spit out the rest and took pics and sent to the owner. I saved it, too. Grubhub made good on refunding my order, however, I was disappointed by the owners response. I understand that things can happen and was totally nice and cool with him on the phone, but he insisted I drive to his restaurant to discuss what happened. I don't have a car and told him he's welcome to send someone to my apartment to retrieve the remainder of the meal and the pieces of stone (or whatever they are). He didn't want to do that or discuss further nor did he offer an apology or refund -I had to call Grubhub for that. Given that I was super polite to him in trying to discuss the seriousness of this, he was just not cool in his reaction... insisting that the pics I sent show something that could not have come from his business. All I can say is that I put that entree in the fridge the day it arrived, having ordered food for multiple days. When I heated it up in the microwave the next day, all I did was remove the clear plastic lid and heat up the black plastic container of food for a couple of minutes. So, how would stones get in there when it was sealed from the time it arrived until the time I removed the plastic lid and heated it up? Again, stones and not plastic. So... I don't wish harm to this business, but they need to be more on top of things and provide better customer service. If it were my business, I wouldn't automatically believe every tom, dick, and harry who said they found stuff in their food. However, I would at least attempt to investigate and not ask someone who doesn't have a car to pay for a round trip taxi to bring the objects in for further discussion. That business is less than a mile from my home. Very disappointing. Hopefully, whatever I swallowed did not cause me harm. I have no idea what happened internally. My main purpose for calling him was to alert him of what happened and to ask if he knew (based on the pics) what it was... to alay my own fears as to what potentially harmful thing I swallowed -getting a refund was secondary to that and I didn't mention it until near the end of our conversation. Anyway... I can't recommend the business based on the food, the customer service, and the fact that someone in the restaurant screwed up and allowed non-food items in my meal. They offer a full menu of appetizers, soups, noodle dishes, chicken/beef/pork/vegetarian options, and even some Thai dishes. The hubs and I ordered some late-night Chinese: Hot & Sour Soup (this was for the hubs only; he said it was just okay); Sesame Cold Noodles (the sesame sauce was way too sweet, and there wasn't enough to dress the big amount of noodles); Spicy Tangy Dumplings - Szechuan Style (stuffed with ground pork with a peanut butter dressing and topped with green onions; these were little steamed wontons coated with a sugary sweet peanut dressing - not at all spicy and not at all savory; also, the dumplings were also a little cold); Crab Rangoon (the wontons were more on the chewier end, but they were filled with a lot of the cream cheese/crab mixture; a little less thick and more watered down); Mongolian Beef (which comes with white rice or fried rice (brown rice is an extra charge); this tasted okay, but it was a lot of onions; the sauce could have been more thicker, as there was plenty of liquid at the bottom); and, Chicken Fried Rice (the hubs was a total fan of this - light had a good combination of veggies and strips of chicken). They have a delivery option, but we went to go pick it up. Most of the items seemed to be made to-order. There are a few tables and chairs to eat, but most locals seem to just do carry-out/delivery. We've been ordering from the same Chinese places for awhile now but happened upon Peking through another delivery app. We never considered ordering from them through Yelp because of the low number of reviews (despite them being positive), so shame on us. This is our new go-to for Chinese food! We ordered: Egg rolls Combination fried rice Lemon chicken Everything was really fresh - much fresher than anywhere else from where we've ordered - and it was hot and delicious when we received it. I highly recommend the lemon chicken - the chicken was tender, the breading was crisp but not super oily, and the sauce was the perfect amount of sweet and tart. The combo fried rice is a best seller, and I understand why! They aren't skimpy with the proteins, and it isn't overcooked. The egg rolls were pretty standard - nothing special but they were fine. The overall price was surprisingly low, especially for the sheer quantity of food we received (one order of the fried rice could easily be split amongst 6-8 people, no question). Since he was passing by that 'hood, he picked me up their "Chef's Recommendation" C25 fish filet with black bean sauce. I generally don't like fish but I'll definitely order this again. 'Tis crack. Tasty comforting crack. Crack to-go. Crack attack. This fish dish is lightly breaded then lord the black bean sauce. Consists of a few carrots, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms but it's mainly the protein. It's a type of white fish with a meaty chew. I guess that's why I enjoy it - very satisfying. Okay, so since this review I've ordered from Peking Express 3 times (sighs). The service has continued to be top notch, I still receive my order in under 30 minutes and I have not encountered the first weird delivery person. Generally I order with a $2 off coupon from Eat24 and you're able to track the order, but now I see a $10 off coupon with checkin that I'll use next time. One thing I must admit I'm not a fan of is their shoe string French fries. Yeah sue me for not having authentic Chinese food from this place. I frequently traveled to this restaurant or to be delivered of their foods. They have one of the best Americanized Chinese dishes although I consider those dishes are so delicious that I would love to go and go again, even could forgot it's not a typically authentic Chinese food. Their foods are very tasty, warmly prepared, and quickly served or delivered. I have been tried many " hot and sour soups" in different Chinese restaurants but here's is the best so far I could tell: taste, substances and the natural foods colors of vegetables in it.
