Bit of a hidden gem. Food is incredible, if a bit on the pricey end. Everything was sizzling hot and tasted amazing. Service was remarkably quick. We were one of two customers there during a Sunday afternoon. We were able to order just after sitting down and our food was ready within minutes. Ambiance was typical of a Korean restaurant. Very clean with a few tvs showing YouTube videos. Since it's not crowded I was able to easily converse with my friend.

Beef tips, 2nd beef out of beef combo for 3-4 people

Went on a Sunday for lunch. We' were one of the early ones so we were seated in a good location. Ordered the beef combo for 3-4 people, cold and spicy buckwheat noodles, kalbi soup and dolsut Bibimbap. Meat quality was good. Portion was smaller than other BBQ combos I've had for same amount of people. Buckwheat noodles were over cooked and soup base was ok. More radish, cucumber and pear would of been better. Kalbi soup was good. Dolsut Bibimbap was ok. First time eating at a Korean BBQ in Springfield. Other areas in VA are better, but willing to try again to help local business in areas across VA.

We came shortly after they opened for dinner so it was nice and quiet! They have a good amount of food choices on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful! It was a tad higher priced then other Korean BBQ places we've been too but the food and service was absolutely amazing that the price point was worth it! Looking forward to coming back again in the future!

    Beef pork combo 2

Top notch. I am Korean, and this is my favorite KBBQ restaurant. For a party of 2.5 (two adults and a toddler), we ordered beef and pork combo #2 and left with our tummies contently full. The brisket was a nice, thicker cut than typical kbbq restaurants. All cuts were mouthwatering good, and pairs perfectly with the three sauces (salt, ssamjang, brisket soy sauce). All of the side dishes were tasty. This is a fully serviced bbq. The owner grills the meat perfectly for you. Overall, the service is what reminds me of home. Not superficial or loud. Quiet and considerate. For example, for our toddler they served an extra fried egg without us asking. I like that the ambiance is calm and welcoming. Not blaring loud music. Clean floors and restrooms. A place to bring your folks to impress.

Meh, I think this place is alright. Not an all you can eat place, just fyi to all the carnivores out there. That being said, it gets pricey quickly. Out of all the things we ordered, the steamed egg was the only best part for me as it came out fluffy and full unlike some other places their egg would sink down. The bulgogi we ordered was flavorful but it was too salty. The banchan (side dishes) that came out was ok, I see the servers taking it out from their cart on the side which I don't know if it's refrigerated or not. Everyone had the runs when we got home. The super thin metal chopsticks that they have will give you hand cramps. Another thing that pissed me off was everything I ordered came out but the rice. I had to ask for it 4 times, it wasn't even busy.

The way Samghyupsahl was sliced was pretty. Unlike other places, there wasn't excessive smoke or popping of the oil at the table. Bibimbop was good. Soondubu Chigae was a bit too sweet for my taste. Soy bean stew was very good though. One of my daughters ordered Nangmyun but the owner came out to apologize that it wasn't available that day. Rice came with the orders. Lately, I've seen Korean restaurants charge extra for rice. I think that's crazy. Although their 2 TVs had pop playing, it wasn't as loud as other places. The service was good too. The owner & the server checked on us often. Although there was plenty of parking available, it was difficult to find because it's located behind Trader Joe's. All in all, it was a great experience. I just wish they had grilled fish in their menu.

I love this place. It's clean, spacious, nice sunlight, food is good and prices are decent. The galbi was good with good portions, spicy pork nice flavor, the dolsut bibimbap had crispy edges and the ban Chan was plentiful. Over the summer I liked the spicy bibim neng myun. No dukkook which is sad. Service was adequate.

Nice place kinda in the cut if you're not familiar with the area and the direction you come from. If you are a beef and pork eater this is the spot for you. I wanted chicken bulgogi which they didn't have nor would make which seemed odd to me for this being a Korean restaurant. Nice ambiance nice staff and the apple soju is good..

This is absolutely the best Korean barbecue in Springfield. The food is fresh, the service is excellent, and the prices are decent. I lived in Korea for five years, and I have tried all of the Korean barbecue restaurants in the surrounding area. This ranks up there at the very top and the fact that it's so clean and close to my house is a huge bonus. I like the small touches, like putting butter on the cooking surface before you start cooking the meat... It helps season the cooking surface and prevents sticking... you won't leave hungry as there are lots of side dishes and plenty of lettuce too, which you won't find at all of the restaurants around here. Bottom line is this is a great choice if you're into Korean BBQ.

Great authentic Korean food on the way to the Balian Spa. Another recommendation is to get the Soju to compliment your meal.

I've never heard of this spot before, and you typically will not find me in Springfield. However, a few of us made lunch plans this past Good Friday to take advantage of the $29.99 AYCE weekday lunch pricing. We got three rounds of beef brisket (chadol), one thin & thick pork belly (samgyupsal) each, and half an order of large intestine (daechang). The chadol was a little too fatty than I'd like, but it was high quality and comparable to non-AYCE options like Meokja Meokja. I didn't love the thin samgyupsal as much, but the thick version was so meaty and juicy. The intestines were a fatty treat, and I was good with just a couple bites. We had to ask for ssamjang and sesame oil for sauces, which they were generous with giving. Our server was pretty attentive, but we thought it was weird that he cooked the thin samgyupsal and the beef brisket at the same time. As for sides, we asked for lots of them (sadly our corn cheese never came). The fermented soybean stew was strong, but a bit too salty at the end. The egg bomb was fluffy and delicious. They also have ramen (aka shin ramen) which we enjoyed by adding several pieces of chadol and letting it soak in there to get that deep meaty flavor. I enjoyed the kimchi throughout the meal, which was the perfect "not quite fresh, but still crunchy" texture. Overall, we ate to our heart's content. I definitely would be back for more chadol, thick samgypsal, and a bit of daechang in the future. The $30 pricing is a steal for the amount of food we got, but I'd hesitate to pay for the $40 dinner price. I don't eat enough at AYCE spots to get my money's worth, so I would rather spend that $40 at a non-AYCE spot for higher quality cuts like galbi and rib tips.

Easily some of the best I've had in the area in a long time, and they set the bar high going into the meal. Once we got to the meat, though, it was a little underwhelming. The all you can eat selection was limited, and a lot of the flavors leaned sweet. We were hoping for more savory, classic Korean BBQ flavors. The sauces were fine, but nothing that really stood out. If we came back, we would definitely add on the ribeye or galbi instead of sticking strictly to the all you can eat option. Service was great and attentive, and the atmosphere is solid for the Springfield area. That said, our hood vent almost came off mid grill, which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, a strong start with great banchan and service, but the BBQ itself did not quite deliver.

I'm thinking that many people who come here know already what they want, because even before we cracked open our menus, the server was immediately at our table expecting us to place our order. When we told her we weren't ready yet, she left, but came back less than a minute later and then stood there waiting for us to place our order. So I ordered the Sullangtang, which is bone broth with brisket and noodles. JP ordered the Yukgaejang, a spicy red broth with veggies and flank steak. We also ordered the fried dumplings. I don't know if the fried dumplings were vegetable or pork, but they were very good, made even better with a delicious dipping sauce. As hoped, banchan was served with our meal, but was just cubes of daikon radish (kkakdugi) and kimchi. The kkakdugi and kimchi were fresh and tasty. Even if the Sullantang recipe is traditional, I was disappointed. The broth was thin and very bland. However, I was able to jazz it up and make it into a pretty good soup by adding spoonfuls of the Yukgaejang broth and the fried dumpling sauce, plus salt and pepper. The Yukgaejang, topped with crispy noodles, was the better of the two soups. It had a lively flavor and as billed on the menu, was indeed spicy. The menu is limited, almost exclusively vegetable and beef dishes, but there is a seafood pancake and whelk (mollusk) dish. No chicken or pork dishes. Overall, our experience was decent and we would certainly consider returning. Shin Chon has plenty of off-street parking.

The bulgogi and the pork belly dishes were nicely presented. Here, to be fair, I need to acknowledge a difference in preferences. I thought the seasoning on the bulgogi was just okay and I absolutely didn't like pork belly seasoning. But! JP thought the pork belly was delicious. Okay, on to the elephant in the room. Why only two stars? I'll start with the menu. You order at the cash register. When we went to the counter, there was a paper copy of the menu and all the prices were blacked out. The cashier perkily explained that the prices had changed so that was why prices were blacked out. So why not print a menu with the current prices? And the reality is that even though there are tables in Puzukan, this is completely a take-out restaurant. Though our order was for dine-in, we were served our meal in take-out boxes with plastic silverware. Covid redux? Also, there was no banchan, nor any soy or hot sauce on the table. What cemented two stars for Puzukan was my visit to the restroom. The corridor to the restrooms was cluttered with supplies on shelves sticking out every which way. And then the far restroom...oh that restroom. It was filthy with bodily by-product flung on the wall. But what was the worst was this restroom was filled haphazardly with more restaurant supplies. Lying out in the open were a whisk and other cooking equipment on a shelf next to the toilet. Need I say more?

We also ordered two rolls, the Double Toro Roll and the Double Salmon Roll. Both were drenched in a Japanese dressing or soy-based sauce, which caused them to fall apart almost immediately after picking them up. The flavor was overly sour and salty, making it hard to taste the freshness of the fish. Overall, the balance of flavors felt completely off.
