Amazing customer service! Was greeted as soon as my group walked through the doors. They accommodated our party of 5 so politely. Our waiter was amazing, re arranged our table and immediately came back to take our drink orders. She was also very attentive with maintaining our tea warm and refilling our water cups. Ambiance is very homie and you can tell it is very well kept. The place looks extremely clean! Everything is so organized. Everyone is treated as an equal and greeted as soon as you walk into the restaurant. They have a good system going on and overall seem very attentive. The food was phenomenal. I loved the pork banhmi it was so flavorful, and a good add on as a side with my soup. The beef and tripe soup was also delicious. Some people in our party got the large combination soup and it was a good size with perfect amount of proteins. My father got the chicken soup and our kind waiter brought the ginger to dip the chicken in, he loved it! The spring rolls and the peanut sauce is delicious! They cute our order of 2 into halves to share better with our party. It's the little attention to detail that we all appreciated. Love that this place is only a 10-15 drive from my home. Sad to say this place has not been good only finding out they changed ownership last year. Went in for late lunch with my wife and daughter, order egg rolls which they no longer do the ones they were known for, salt pepper wings which was ok but served on top of onions that looks more deep fried than stir fried, and their pho which was sweet and something that tasted off with the broth, the meat also had an off putting taste to it as it had been cooked several days ago, when i brought it up with the waitress she said nothing was wrong with it and said no one else has complained about it. I told her we don't want the pho and take it back she said she can't take it off the bill and insisted me paying for it. I paid the biil and i am done with this place. I'm glad to see so many reviewers commented on the friendliness and attentiveness of staff. Both times I've been, customer service was excellent. The pho tai is solid, and the regular size is more than plenty. Generous amounts of quality, lean meat (not chewy or fatty like some places). Broth is light but good in flavor, and a squeeze of lime cuts it nicely. There's nothing wrong with the spring rolls, but I prefer a different type of wrappers. These are pretty greasy to the touch, but filling tastes fine. Saw someone across the restaurant who ordered the clay pot fish... Think I'll have to try that next time because it smelled amazing. The pho it's great for cold weather, especially when you're craving it or when you're sick and this location has by far the best pho even the people are great. It's just the ambience is trash. It looks dirty like the tables are sticky smells I feel like if they just cleaned it a little bit more. It would be a really good spot but mind you again there's like only two people working in there so I understandably if there's only two people the food is great, but the place is not . Also, the meatballs cost 3 dollars but then they only give you two meatballs which are cut into halves so they're four it looks like it's four but in reality just two meatballs which cost three dollars. Went to dinner on a Friday night with the family. To be honest, the last time I came here I was not impressed. However, I am always down to give a second chance. When we got there, the restaurant was pretty empty, and that was at 6:30pm. Over the course of the dinner, the restaurant filled up a bit. Besides the usual Pho restaurant decor, the place was pretty clean! Service was a bit slow, even though there were only a few tables, but they did have a sign indicating they were short staffed. We ordered Cong Ly Crispy Spring Rolls, Spicy Hue Noodle Soup and a couple bowls of the Cong Ly Special Soup. I understand that the price of everything has gone up, but their prices seem a bit higher than other pho restaurants. The spring rolls were so GOOD! It might have been since they actually use rice paper. They were perfectly crispy and very flavorful. I could have eaten a couple orders of those. The Bun Bo Hue was decent but probably not the most authentic. I felt like it needed some more shrimp paste to it, and it was missing the hock and pork blood cakes. It had a decent kick. Came here with a friend after work. My friend said the food here was good. So we went. I ordered a #5 pho combination (small) and requested no onions and no cilantro. My friend ordered the vegetable pho. (After getting told by the server to look at pictures for the grilled beef and rice). When the food came, my bowl had a bunch of cilantro when I clearly asked for none. And when I mentioned it to our server, she got really nasty with me and said that I only asked for no onion. And then continued to say "next time just say you don't want nothing." THAT right there is just horrible customer service. The food came back out with still some cilantro, but I ignored that. And I grabbed a spoon to taste the broth first. It's a little salty compared to other places I've been to. The meat was alright. I feel like other place offer a bit more variety for their pho bowls. Came in to eat in as we usually do, the female waiter is amazing and always very attentive. But today we had the male server and he was very rude upon entering. He did not seat us and as we were looking for a table since we were a big group he gave us a why are you following me, we're open right. To which one of our group members responded. " We're not following you" After we sat he threw the menus at us and did not take our orders as he was short staffed. (There were 2 other tables there) We understood this but he presumed to ignore us and walked passed our table 10 times without helping or giving us water. I was really impressed with Pho broth. They're definitely doing this right: Rich developed flavor. You can taste the effects of long cooking time; bones and spices. I was really disappointed in the Banh mi pork sandwich. There really wasn't a lot of meat and vegetables in it and I was super shocked that they put iceberg lettuce in the sandwich (i'm suspecting this was filler). Advice: 1.Dont Americanize your dishes. This isn't a American sandwich. It's a Vietnamese sandwich that doesn't have lettuce; ever. 2. Get better French bread for the sandwiches. That just elevates all the other ingredients. 3. Try to add one extra person to your staff during lunchtime. The take out weight was way too long. I felt bad for the older lady that was running around doing register, waitressing and busing. 4. Better places like pho 75 charge less for their large pho. If you wanna stay in the game, you might want to look at that. I was one of the first customers at Pho Cong Ly, but somehow another Yelper beat me to the first review so I put it off to now. They had some kinks to work out initially, but they seem to have found their groove now as they are always busy...but not TOO busy. Pho Cong Ly as you can see from the pics has more attractive decor & furnishings than a typical Pho spot. The servers are genuinely friendly and they take credit cards which also sets them apart from many other more typical Pho restaurants. The Pho itself is not quite as good as other local favorites, but few reach that five star level. Overall though, I do recommend Pho Cong Ly as it has a warm atmosphere and is more relaxed than most of the others. read more

Pho Cong Ly was the hot spot for pho back in the days when it was next to Outback Steakhouse. It went away for awhile and made a comeback! The restaurant is housed in the Backlick Shopping Center along with Gold's Gym, Dollar Tree, PNC Bank, and Giant grocery store. The boyfriend and I dined here for lunch the other week. We ordered the egg rolls (they've always been known for these) to share. He ordered pho and I ordered a vermicelli bowl with grilled beef. I tasted the pho and it was flavorful, but I'll be sure to update my review when I order it next time as an entree. The vermicelli bowl was a generous portion and a good ratio of veggies to meat. The service was slow, and there were several dirty tables (the server had to clean a table before we were sat), but overall our experience was okay. Pho Cong Ly made me extremely excited when I was looking for a nearby location for me to go on my lunch break. I came here at 1:00, and there was only 1 other table there which probably should have been a good indicator to me of what I should have expected, especially considering all the reviews of the mediocre service. Essentially, their service makes you feel uncomfortable to say the least. The pair that were working that lunch period would periodically look and me, talk to one another, and then start laughing. Repeat for pretty much the whole 30 minutes I was there. The girl who was mainly serving my table was just sitting down and relaxing despite my obvious lack of water and did not check up on me a single time except for when I waved her over for the check. Oh, and as for the pho - it was also mediocre, so it couldn't even save the review. The broth didn't have any depth to it, so I just drowned it with sriracha and hoisin.
