Enjoyed a late Thursday night here! Our pho came fast and had a great noodle to meat ratio. The coconut juice is really good too! Only complaints are the noodles break kind of easy, our server never came back around after we got our food, and the coconut juice container was sticky. But overall I really liked the pho for the price.

Pho 24 is a gem in Annandale. Their pho selections are massive, the soup and ingredients are well cooked. I tried their rice dish as well, the lemon grilled chicken was tasty and delicious. Service was quick. This is a down to earth family style pho restaurant. They appeal to a wide variety of customers, including locals, workers, retirees, students etc. You will get great value of the price you pay for the food. Highly recommend!

Still delicious as always, fast service as usual, food is consistently 5/5. Updated review 8 months later, still 5 stars!

Love the beef stew here I usually get it with the noodles instead of the bread. Fatty brisket pho is also good here. Service is fast and friendly. Noise is average with plenty of tables for large or small groups.

I ordered the large Pho 24 (menu item number one) here. This beef broth comes with everything--rare steak, flank, tendon, meatballs, and tripe. It arrived piping hot in less than two minutes, which is almost faster than some McDonald's orders. The broth was on point, not too salty, with a good amount of flavor. As a Vietnamese person who's picky about pho, I can say this was a solid 7/10. I haven't rated any place higher than an 8 except for my mom's homemade pho. I appreciated the fresh basil leaves, lime, jalapeños, and bean sprouts on the side. The service was straightforward. They handed me the menu, I ordered, ate, and paid at the front counter. The server didn't greet or thank me, but I was there for the food, so it didn't bother me. Overall, I paid around $18 ($14 for the soup, 1.xx tax, and a 15% tip). I recommend this place if you're looking to satisfy your pho cravings.

Amazing flavor in the pho broth but the portions were kind of small and service wasn't very friendly. It's a hole in the wall kind of feel but felt the prices did not reflect the ambiance as they were a little pricier than other pho places. I would definitely return for their pho but I would not get their egg rolls again as there was not much inside of them and were mainly just bread on the inside. Cool center with great food and a gong cha next door that will deliver drinks to your table in pho 24!

Great place for authentic Vietnamese food. I've eaten here many times and this review is overdue. Compared to other places, I noticed they put more meat and noodles in so that it's not mostly broth. I definitely felt like I got what I paid. The pho broth is clear and flavorful. They give you plenty of toppings! The egg roll was nice and crispy. The nuoc cham fish dipping sauce was spot on made right. The Bo Kho beef stew with carrots was very filling and steaming hot and perfectly spicy but mild. The broth was perfect! Some places make Bo Kho kind of sweet, which I don't like but they made it perfectly here. There are huge chunks of beef, and by the time you are done eating, you feel perfectly nourished. The ambiance is typical of most Vietnamese restaurants, mostly bare walls but some art and the focus is on the food, which I don't mind. You can feel free to seat yourself and pay at the front when you are ready. It is customary at most Vietnamese places because they do not want to rush you.

One of the best bowls of pho I've ever had! The garden rolls we ordered were also good. The service was not the friendliest but we got everything we needed. The restaurant is very unassuming but the food itself is delicious.

I have always eaten here for lunch on weekdays, which can get a bit busy sometimes, but not too bad. The pho here is very good with large portions of both noodles and meats. The com suon nuong (grilled pork chop on rice) was very flavorful. It came with lettuce, a couple slices of tomato and cucumber as well. The bun cha gio also came in a large portion and was pretty good. The bo kho was ok. They don't do the bun bo hue justice here though. The broth was bland and lacking the authentic flavor of bun bo hue. Highly recommend their ca phe sua (drip coffee with condensed milk), which are made to order, so make sure to order that first because it can take sometime for the coffee to drip. Just a heads up, service and friendliness lack a bit here. Remember to pay at the register when you're done. Overall, I recommend the pho and ca phe sua here.

Holy moly, their broth is so rich! This was our last spot to eat before my family headed back to the airport from a wedding weekend. I am SO glad my sister found this place on google maps. She literally typed in "pho" en route to DCA and we zoomed straight to their strip mall parking lot. It was Labor Day and they were open on Monday. Each of us (4 total) got a steaming bowl of pho. I had the #2 large. Their broth was so comforting, aromatic, and delicious. Their portions of meat were generous as well! I'd skip the iced coffee. We got two orders and one was really sweet (overboard with the condensed milk) and the other was fine, but it filled maybe a third of a styrofoam cup with ice already in a majority of the cup. It didn't suffice. I know the ice is supposed to dilute the coffee, but save your $4.00 (stick to pho) and then hop next door to BAMBU for some Vietnamese sweets/coffee. Pho 24 is definitely a no frills, family-owned spot. It's not fancy. I did not expect to be impressed. But I was surprised by how MARVELOUS their broth was, which made the pho amazing. Sleepy and unassuming from the outside, this restaurant was lively inside and served delicious food - that's all we needed before a flight back to the Midwest. I loved exploring the DMV area and all the Vietnamese/pho spots. It was pure heaven to have so much access to pho. Pho 24 was one of the highlights.

I was very excited to enjoy lunch here with my family and see what the hype is all about. The inside was a bit cramped. They tried to pack as many tables in the venue as possible so the walkways are narrow. There isn't even room for a host stand near the front door so at first I thought it was a seat yourself restaurant. An employee greeted us promptly and pointed us to what table my family should sit at. Once seated I noticed I could not pull my chair out very far before hitting the person behind me. My 2 year old daughter wanted to sit on my lap but there was not enough space for me to do that without interfering with the person behind me. For reference I am 5 feet tall and 112 pounds. I very rarely feel cramped but the proximity of the tables was a little claustrophobic for me. We ordered Chay Nuggets, the vegan Banh Mi option, and Pho. All the food lived up to my expectations. Hands down the best Pho I ever had. The base of the broth was good on its own, and beyond compare once some of the available sauces and toppings were added. I was impressed with how many vegetables were included in this dish. This dish was hearty and I would definitely order it again. The nuggets were a great option for my daughter. They were less fluffy than an American style nugget and nicely crisped on the outside with slightly sweet sauces for dipping. The Banh Mi was good but my least favorite of the items ordered. My husband and I both wish the tofu was a little more prominent and hearty rather than shredded. I am not sure if the way they prepared it was more authentic. Regardless the flavor was good and the baguette was memorable with a little crispness on the outside and softness in the center. While the food was worth coming back for, the service and indoor dining would make me want to take my food to go. It did not feel like a family friendly business. My daughter wanted to get up and walk around and I felt some glares from the employees. In general there was no warmth from the employees. There was no checking in on our meals or any friendly conversation at the table. Thanks Chay for so many vegan options and I am happy I finally got to check out this highly rated business.

I have to admit the quality has gone down a tiny bit (some of the food's a little dry, slightly smaller portions, namely the scallion pancake duck roll was mostly veggies instead of meat), but it's still a spot I really enjoy going to for some homey food. You can choose between thick and thin for your noodle soups and I honestly like both even tho I usually like thick noodles. Their soups are nice and brothy, not too rich which I like. I've tried most of the food on the menu and it covers the bases for when you're feeling something more light or something more filling.

We tried A&J and liked it a lot!…read more This is not a typical Chinese-American restaurant. A&J has quite a few pleasantly unexpected dishes. Service was welcoming and efficient. On a mid-Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was about ¾ full. We started out with the Wonton Soup and the Spicy Wonton soup. The Wonton soup is just okay, but the Spicy Wonton Soup is wonderful and highly recommended. For another appetizer, we ordered the Scallion Pancake. It has a nice dense texture and I really liked it. It would've been even better if it came with a dipping sauce. We also ordered the pickled cabbage. It was good, though lacking seasoning. Our first entrée was ground pork in a delicious sauce accompanied by sprouts and thinly sliced cucumber (or was that zucchini?). Recommended! Our second entrée was a Pan Fried Beef Bun. The beef was flavorful but the bread was kinda dry. Our last entrée was the Beef Wraps. These were great! Who woulda thunk that beef and fresh carrots would go together so well?! Oh, the chili sauce in a jar on the table is extra tasty. At the end, before we got our check, we were given a plate with sliced cucumbers in a light tasty sesame chili sauce. Excellent! But the hot tea was an epic fail. It had no flavor whatsoever. Peeking inside the teapot, all I could see was a micro tiny tea bag floating or sort of sinking. One other thing I kinda don't want to bring up in light of the great food we enjoyed, but need to in the spirit of full disclosure, is to mention that A&J shares space in the building with several other businesses. The restrooms are common to all the businesses. A&J needs to lean hard on the property owner/manager to do a deep cleaning in those restrooms. I'll leave it at that.
