Plaka Grill is a nice deli type restaurant, Just a quick stop on the way home. I was in the mood for a gyro and this spot satisfied my hunger. I was planning to take it home, but ended up sitting down and eating right there. Everything came out fast, hot and taste. I would come back again.

tl;dr: A wide variety of Greek food available in a sit-down restaurant or to grab-and-go. I had meaning to try Plaka Grill for a while after trying other Mediterranean and Greek restaurants in the area (think: Big Greek Cafe). When I found Plaka Grill, I decided that I wanted to try something a little more traditional so I could compare. I decided to dine in and so I ordered an appetizer, the zucchini fritters. They were tasty, but I was a little surprised at how much they cost for how many you get. I tried their Plaka gyro which comes with marinated pork, fries, tomato, onions, and their tzatziki sauce. I also ordered the Plaka platter which is basically the same thing, just not wrapped up in a pita. The meat was flavorful, although I wish the platter came with a sauce. One of my favorites about this place? They have fountain Coke Zero! I know, a weird thing to get excited about, but not a lot of places offer it. Fun fact: Author David Baldacci comes here so much he has a little plaque mounted above a table in the back. Parking: There's plenty right in front of the restaurant.

Dining area is open, clean and pretty straightforward. Tables were a little sticky. Nice local place in Vienna. Steady stream of people coming in to place orders at 8 pm 1 hour until close. The food. We ordered a Chicago gyro wrap that comes with fries in the wrap and a Plaka Gyro wrap, both as combos. $40 with tip

I stopped here for an evening snack and it was worth the stop. Cute little place that was decently busy with customers dining in and coming to pick up to go orders. The staff was pretty friendly. The dining area was clean and had ample seating for the size. It didn't feel crowded at all despite the number of people there. You order at the counter and food is brought to the table fairly quickly. There is a refrigerator with drinks and options for fountain drinks as well. I ordered the calamari after reading reviews about the flavor and crispiness. My calamari had a good flavor but wasn't as crispy as I expected after reading some reviews. It came with garlic aioli which I didn't care for too much and I wish I would've thought to get a different dipping sauce. I also ordered hummus which came with pita. The hummus was excellently flavored with lemon and garlic. The pita was soft on the inside and a little toasty on the outside; just how I like it. When I went up to the counter to ask for to go containers, I noticed the baklava which I hadn't paid attention to when I first walked in. I asked the lady at the counter if it was made in house and she said it is. So I purchased a slice to eat later. It wasn't my favorite because it had too strong of a clove flavor for me but they'd just preference, I'm sure. For an evening snack I'd say this hit the spot. I had plenty left over that I could air fry the calamari the next day and still had 1/2 my hummus and pita. So it made a great lunch!

This place is good but nothing really stood out... I don't think I would come back. Only cause I want to find other similar types of restaurants. I got the chicken plate and I wish it came with veggies, it had a salad and that was good. Chicken was dry. Potato's weren't edible, they were sour.

My plate of moussaka!

Double date night at Plaka Grill! My husband and I, along with another couple, ventured out on a Saturday evening, and while the experience was flavorful, it wasn't without its quirks. I chose Plaka Grill specifically for their gluten-free options because my dear friend has celiac disease. Arriving at 5:30 pm, parking was a breeze (furthest from the pizza shop is less busy). Inside, however, seating was a bit of a free-for-all. We waited patiently for a table, but when one finally opened up, it was... sticky. Really sticky. Not wanting to rock the boat, we settled in and made the best of it. The food was the star of the evening. We started with hummus and cucumbers for the table--absolutely dreamy. I ordered the moussaka (so comforting and hearty), my husband went with the lamb kapama (more on that later), my friend had the beef souvlaki over salad (so tender and flavorful), and her husband opted for a gyro (classic and satisfying). Portions were enormous, and the potatoes? Surprisingly delicious and equally gigantic. Now for the hiccups: my husband's plate had onions in the salad despite our no-onion request, and he found the lamb dry--such a shame because everything else was so well done. The real drawback, though, was the service and cleanliness. Tables weren't cleaned promptly, and the overall sticky vibe gave us pause. Final verdict? This is probably a better spot for takeout, but I'd still worry about cleanliness behind the scenes. The flavors and portions win big points, but Plaka Grill, let's tidy up a bit, shall we?

I've been meaning to try this place for a while because I love Greek food and wanted to find a go-to spot near me, and I think this was did indeed meet its expectations for some affordable fast food-y Greek food. We were sooo full and very much enjoyed the gyro, fries, and calamari. I would definitely recommend and come back again. It was mostly self-serve, and it was very small cute restaurant for chill vibes.

Gyros are the best! The Plaka Salad with chicken is excellent and the dressing sublime. Only downside, it is always very cold inside.

Some food was dry while other food was greasy. The table was sticky and dirty. This restaurant is no longer in its prime.

We did not make a reservation but fortunately, were were able to sit at a high top table near the bar. Then our waitress came over and explained the menu and suggested some drinks. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. For drinks we ordered a cucumber tequila drink and a rum cocktail. The cucumber cocktail was refreshing and wasn't too strong. The rum cocktail was a bit bitter and we were not able to drink so we ordered the cucumber drink instead. For our entrees we ordered the Paidakia which was lamb chops with asparagus and potatoes. We also ordered Arni Youvetsi which was the lamb shank braised with wine tomato sauce over orzo. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection as I ordered them medium well. The asparagus and potatoes were well seasoned and very tender and flavorful. The lamb shank was delicious as the meat fell off the bone. It was both very tender and flavorful. The orzo was cooked to perfection and the wine sauce complemented the lamb shank quite well. Overall, it was a great experience. I always enjoy Greek food and Nostos was no exception. I will return soon to try some other entrees. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping by. Cheers!

I want to mention I was meeting friends and never did we once feel like we were rushed at all. They were very careful to watch and approach in a perfectly timed manner. The food was all very good. The fried zucchini was served not at all as I would expect. Very thin, but good. The tzatziki sauce had way too much garlic. The fried squid was excellent. Probably the best I've ever had. Extremely tender, and the coating was not hard at all. The scoldolia (garlic spread) served in the center had very little garlic in it. It should have a lot of garlic, unlike the tzatziki sauce. The octopus was served with a lovely, what I believe to be, lemony hummus. The Bronzino was excellent. The seafood souvlaki special was very good. It was served with rice and Greek style green beans. My friends had the loukumades (fried donuts). They said they were very good. I had the galotopoudiko which was good--could've been a little bigger for the price. Will definitely go back. My only comment is for the prices, I would expect a little nicer atmosphere. It's a little cold and baron. The atmosphere at Nostos is better. Sorry, but I always seem to forget to take pictures before I start eating the food.

We appreciated that interaction and thought it added a nice personal touch to the meal. That being said, the end of the experience felt rushed once the restaurant got busier. Our server came by our table multiple times asking if we were still working on our food and even offered boxes on one occasion, despite us clearly still eating. It felt like there was pressure to clear the table. At one point, a different staff member also asked if she could take some of our plates. My friend had finished, so she said yes, but I was still eating and she almost removed my plate and I had to stop her. We were a bit confused by the urgency since there were still empty tables and no visible wait for seating. Unfortunately, it made the end of the meal uncomfortable for me, as I don't eat well when I feel rushed. It may have just been our server, but unfortunately the experience toward the end was unpleasant, which left a negative final impression.
