Right when we walked in, we were greeted warmly. The restaurant is beautiful inside and feels familiar. The food was quick to come out and amazing. Hubby had shawarma and I had the mansaf. Falafel and hummus, everything tasted like back home. Mint lemonade and strawberry lemonade both totally fresh and made right then. Worth it, def come again!

We had an amazing dinner at SimSim. The lamb kabab, babaganoush, and family lamb shawarma were absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully balanced and perfectly seasoned -- the flavors were outstanding. The owner personally welcomed us in a very warm and genuine way, which made the experience even more special. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and honestly, it's hard to believe this place isn't packed every night. Highly recommended!

Tried the Yemeni haneeth and it was excellent. The meat was incredibly tender, well seasoned, and full of flavor, clearly slow cooked the right way. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. A great spot if you're craving authentic Yemeni food. Would definitely come back.

A great new restaurant in Fairfax City. We loved the hummus, fresh hot pita, and chicken shawarma. Such a friendly and attentive wait staff.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Sim Sim! We ordered the haneeth and the kofta in the oven, and both dishes were incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The food truly tasted homemade with authentic Middle Eastern touches. The service was just as impressive, warm, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Sim Sim is a gem in the community, and I highly recommend everyone to come and try their amazing food. I especially encourage my Kurdish community to visit and enjoy this wonderful restaurant. Support this place. you will love it just as much as we did!

They brought out complimentary little cakes with candles, super cute. We did the a la carte entree option, I ordered lamb potato hash which was delish. Deff would come back! Not too many diners on a Sunday during lunch time, surprisingly. Quick and attentive service, and the food came out in good time. The coffee was really good - loved the cinnamon and cardamom and I substituted oat milk. Would try to get it a little less sweet next time but overall good. French toast was different but really good. I didn't like the whipped (cheese? Cream?) that much--too lemony for me. But the toast was yummy. Texture is different but good. Very moist. Liked the nuts. The lamb and potatoes were really good. Great flavor. Big portions. Lamb was super tender and juicy. Potatoes soft and well seasoned. I got a side of toum and it was sooooo garlicky but great. Overall really liked it and would recommend.

Lamb Tagine: Tasted pretty good, Lamb Shank could have been a little more tender, sauce and prunes were good. I wish i had gotten Lamb Cous Cous instead. My meal came with Moroccan bread, which is good, but Cous Cous is better. Kefta Tagine: Savory, delicious, more familiar tasting. My friend crushed it. Service: Owner is very friendly and made the experience much better. Ambiance: Crowded, cool decoration, felt like it was catered towards the ethnic community, which is what I want! Overall impression: First time i've had Moroccan in years. Appreciate it while it's here. Not every city has a Moroccan place. It's unique and different from other Mediterranean. It's a 4.5, not the best I've had but pretty darn good.

I first tried the assorted kebabs. Unfortunately, the chicken had dried out and the kofta felt too crumbly. The chicken rice dish had quite aromatic rice but underseasoned chicken; seasoned rice alone can't substitute bland chicken drumsticks. The lamb rice dish had both aromatic rice and juicy, well seasoned lamb. I ended up combining the lamb pieces with the chicken rice. Out of curiosity, I tried a piece of their fried chicken. It proved juicy and not too oily. It would do well as a standalone appetizer in most restaurants. I also tried something that looked like lasagna, but without tomato. It tasted, to my uncultured palate, like a lasagna with some sort of cream or bechamel-like sauce. I quite enjoyed it. For dessert, my friend convinced me to try what I had initially passed over as oatmeal or tapioca pudding. The Omi Ali proved quite delectable, like a cross between bread pudding and oatmeal but with more nuanced spices and sweetness. I added it to my short list of desserts I enjoy, since I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Overall, I appreciated the breath and variety. Some hits and misses are to be expected at a homely, ethnic neighborhood style buffet.
