This is a small place in the heart of Vienna, right next to Amphora's. The owner, a man in his 40's named Ahmad, serves authentic Lebanese food. By the way, the old name was Old name was "Ya Hala," like around four years ago. And the place really is authentic. You'll hear people speaking Arabic in the small cafe and in the attached butcher/grocery store next door (same owner). They play MBC, a middle eastern channel. And, of course, the food is very, very good. We came with a young Lebanese lady who ordered for us. This is what they bring out: Appetizers- hummus, baba ghanouj with bread; tabbouleh salad. Excellent presentation to all- see the pictures. Next- cheese pies and ground beef pies. Medium-size squares that are warm. Great to also dip into said hummus and baba ghanouj. Main course- a golden-colored rice topped with pine nuts and golden raisins. Yummy take on rice! A big platter of mixed kabobs on bread. There's chicken, beef, and lamb, with grilled veggies accompanying. We skipped dessert, although he has ~10 seemingly authentic cultural options. (There's also the Amphora bakery next door, so...) Finally, they brought us a refreshing black tea that had an infusion of mint. Not too light, and not bitter. Nice blend, I have to say. If you're in Vienna, you've got to try this place. Ask for Ahmad, and ask him for the authentic Lebanese experience. It'll be $100 (the total for our feast), and...it'll be the most satisfying Benjamin you've spent in a good while. read more

Came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner. Small place, and doesn't have a great ambiance. However the food was delicious. I had the Chicken Tawook, and the meat was flavorful, and freshly cooked. My hubby got the Lamb platter which he said was good, but he thought the chicken was better. Also had the mezze platter that came with hummus (delicious), falafel (crispy and flavorful), baba ghanoush (ok), taboule (too lemony), and grape leaves (just ok). We have ordered from Beirut multiple times in 2019 and 2020, only to be disappointed with last-minute cancellations, reduced meal sizes, and kofta meshwi/mixed grills that are generally sub-par compared to the standard of other Mediterranean restaurants in Vienna, VA. I see all these trendy high-end butchers popping up and charging crazy price, and I find myself so thankful for the reasonable prices, quality meats and great service at Beruit Butcher. The meats are sourced from their farm in Williamsburg, not just halal from Restaurant Depot. Their marinated chicken is awesome for kababs, and you can order kefta and they'll mix it and shape it (if you ask) to order. Those are both staples for any cookout we host. Pick up some bread and a container of lebne, and you're good to go! You can even order spices from them and its much better priced than grocery stores. We just tried the café for the first time since it switched from being Ya Hala. I asked the owner whats best at the café and he advised me that he'd just made a fresh batch of meat shwarma. It was great! A bit salty, but that only made the Ayran (yoghurt drink) that much better. read more

I highly recommend the kafta meshwi sandwich for a light meal, and the Katayef with cheese and honey is a must for dessert! That being said, the best part of this place is not the cafe, nor the grocery, but the butcher! This halal butcher always has great quality, low priced cuts of meat. I love that they don't waste anything, and I can find the less popular cuts of meat, like ox tail and offal etc here. They've done a lot of renovating in the last year and now boast an led tv with their cuts and prices, and a direct walk-through from the butcher/grocery shop into the cafe. They charged me $ 5.99/LB for lamb fat. We can get boneless Halal New Zealand Lamb at Sam's for $ 5.89/LB. Last time I bought lamb fat was at Amity and it was it was $.79/LB. Highway robbery. Never will go back. I was going to by some Lahmacun but the freezer was so full that everything in the freezer was thawed. How does the health department allow this place to operate like that. I always order my thanksgiving turkey from here. The man I spoke to was very nice and flexible and I was able to order a 27lb fresh turkey. It was $1.99/lb. It is very hard to come across such a large halal bird with that price. This is the 2nd time I've gotten my turkey from Beirut cafe and I would definitely recommend it. It was a rainy Friday evening and we had the urge for Lebanese food. The Café was empty except for our party of three. The service was prompt and the waiter/cook was attentive. We all had variants of kabobs of both types (chicken and lamb) along with a beef kefta. All the entrees were well prepared and served with roasted vegetables. A stand-out item was the meat Fatayer appetizer--very tasty. The baklava dessert was good too. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is basic (clean, orderly, but not a white-tablecloth place). This is a very nice family run business and I will be back.
