Really nice coffee & sandwiches here, I got the cardomom latte and it's one of the best in the area so far. The sandwiches are pretty big you can probably share one between two people especially if you want to get a dessert. Beef egg & cheese sandwich - my husband got this one and it's a nice breakfast sandwich it has really nice spices in it which make it different from other breakfast sandwich places. Kafta sandwich - this was perfect for lunch the flavors are really amazing. The baked desserts were hit or miss I'll come back to try some more. I wasn't the biggest fan of the flour used. It was pretty busy on the weekend, but we still managed to find parking and a table. People work on their laptops there so the turn over is slower. The inside is a bit cramped, I did have a little anxiety because there's really no space between you and the person next to you and there's just a small path to walk around. Parking is around back of the building, it has signs up that it's parking for that building only. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

My family and I enjoyed brunch on their outdoor patio. The servers were friendly and even brought a water bowl out for our dog. W e ordered some drinks including coffee and tea as well as some of their dips. Our food was fresh and delicious, everyone really enjoyed their meal. Another lovely coffee shop located in McLean, VA. A coffee shop that is Lebanese-inspired, from their sweets, coffee, and savory dishes. The spot is very medium sized - not too small, with plenty of tables if you want to do some work. We got the Mamoul Ushta, which has a crusty base on the outside, and cream in the inside. Trying to find a good brunch spot during our short visit/trip and saw it on Yelp/Google; decided to try it and was not disappointed. It is located in the corner of a brick building on the intersection of Elm St and Beverly Rd. Not very easy to spot from the road if not looking for it carefully. Parking is shared with the rest of the stores of the building and was not difficult. The store is right beneath the "Jack Bays Inc" sign. We ordered the Pistaccino and Vanilla Rose Latte. The Rose Latte was superb; sweet but not overwhelming. Also tried the Egg & Za'tar Croissant, Arayes Wrap. Vibrant flavors cooked to the perfect temperature; the wraps were also amazingly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waiter was extremely attentive and helpful, always checking if we were okay with the orders. The environment is modern and somewhat lively, with both indoor and outdoor seatings. The tables seemed very high-end and have white marble top look, as well as a few mirrors with surrounding light and large glass windows. Welcoming and refreshing ambiance. Such a cool find! This was a brunch location for a date and I absolutely loved it. The ambience is very welcoming and the staff is so friendly. I had a hot Spanish cardamom latte (decaf). I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but it tasted amazing. The egg sandwich with a hint of za'atar paired really well with the house olive bread (recommendation from the staff) and also included tomatoes, arugula and an aioli. They're still in their soft opening phase so the menu isn't online yet but I've ordered a couple items in the last two visited. 5 stars for service - they're very friendly and eager to provide what you need. They have high chairs in the back btw, so just ask. Drinks have all been good. I've had the matcha - tasty but pricey for a matcha (yes, even for our area). The food is okay. I love Lebanese food - obviously, for those wanting meat, the current menu is scarce in that department. They do have one- a chicken wrap but that comes out after 11am. The outdoor seating is great. They have a really nice set up so you're in the shade and they bring everything to your table (unless you get a regular hot drip). Ask for hot sauce if you want some. Water isn't tap- filtered! The most disappointing was the shakshuka. I've had that everywhere I go for brunch and it was TINY. I think it was $12 or $13? I would say this place is okay the drinks were good just know that all the lattes are not sweet and you will need to put sugar in some of them ...we got a pistachio latte and a Spanish cardamom latte. Loved the cardamom latte..pistachio needed sugar added so I did honey. The food was also "good" a little too much sour going on in the Kafta. I will say overall this is a good spot to checkout. Just very overpriced for what we got hence why I was more critical with this review for the price I've had way better coffee and food. Sahlab! You must get the sahlab. I arrived thinking I would get something like a Turkish coffee, but the sahlab description just leapt off the menu at me and I'm so glad I said yes. As I read online now, sahlab is apparently a sort of milk pudding made from orchid root flour. You don't need to know any of that to love it. All you need to know is that it's maybe the silkiest, creamiest drink I've ever enjoyed. It was as if I were consuming an edible pillow that hugged my mouth with every sip. On top, diced pistachios. On bottom, raisins saturated i this creamy goodness. As I finished the drink, I wondered if I should have a second. Too many calories, said I. But I sure did enjoy holding my cup high to the sky and shaking loose every last raisin. My, my...this cafe is one I'll plan to stop by every time I'm in the area. read more

A brand new cafe in McLean! It used to be a subway but became a cafe by some of the owners of the salon next door. The cafe is currently in a soft launch and hopes to have a full launch in a month or so. I met Fatima, who is one of the owners and is just really nice! We decided to try this spot as a family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 kids under 5). We visited on the weekend and it was a bit tough finding parking. We ended up parking near the hospital and hoped our car didn't get towed ( it didn't). If there is a parking lot nearby I need to find it. The place inside and out is really modern and welcoming. The menu is mouthwatering and honestly I wanted to try everything. We decided on the egg and Zatar breakfast croissant ( I chose to have it on olive bread and hubby had it on the croissant). The kids just had a muffin and mango juice. I do appreciate that they cater for kids by having boxes juices and milk on hand. I had a standard latte and hubby had the pistachio latte which was interesting because they add pistachio paste around the cup. It was a really good latte and I bought another one before I left. I asked them to make mine extra hot and they did just that. I just hate lukewarm coffee that you can drink in one gulp. The food came out pretty quickly and it tasted really good. My kids really enjoyed the chocolate muffin and we had to get another one! Service was excellent and the waiter was responsive to our needs considering she had "demanding" customers next to us. A great little find in the McLean area. It's a nice little bakery/cafe with middle eastern flavors. You order at the front counter and they bring out the food to you- we even had a super friendly server clean up as well when we were done. They have a good variety of coffees and teas, and a mix of breakfast and lunch foods. I went with the beef, cheese and egg sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the great flavor of it- they used the same style beef you would find in a meat kibbeh and it was delicious. I got the Pistacinno and Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Cookie. Everything was amazing, and I especially enjoyed the cookie. Plus, the young lady who took our order was so kind! Not sure if the Mclean crowds are so affluent that a $8-10 small sized Latte and $3-5 croissant are considered normal, to me, it is way too expensive and not worth the price tag. I get it the cost of running a small business in the most expensive area in NoVA would be high, but if you think you can get away with this type of price/value ratio would probably be a mistake. I like the ambience and the friendly staff and I really want them to succeed, but not by robbing your patrons, hopefully. read more

This place popped up on my social media. The pistaccino and the biscoff crunch caught my eye. I tried both and I will say that I preferred the biscoff crunch. The pistaccino just tasted like a bland capuccino with pistachio lining the rim. Nothing special. The biscoff was sweeter but you could really taste the biscoff. Despite it being busy, service was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The Mussakhan Wrap reminds me of a Jamaican beef patty in that there is a generous amount of meat, it is nicely spiced, and has a nice texture. The Fatteh reminds me of an Indian chaat. If you like garlic, you'll enjoy the sauce. My mouth was garlicky afterwards, but only temporarily. I really enjoyed the Turkish delight that came with my Turkish coffee. I was really excited to try this place after seeing all the Instagram reels, everything looked amazing, especially the coffee. But honestly, it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the pistachio latte and the shakshuka. The latte didn't taste like pistachio at all. It came in a tiny espresso like mug with some pistachio butter and crushed nuts on the rim, but the actual drink just tasted like burnt coffee. A little pistachio syrup might've helped. The shakshuka was the most disappointing part. I've tried a lot of shakshuka dishes before, and this was the smallest and the most expensive. It had literally one egg, a tiny piece of lavash that was cold and hard, and a small side salad for $15. My check was around $30 (with tip), and I left still hungry. The place is cute, and the staff is really nice, but the food was super disappointing. Please at least add another egg to the shakshuka, that one egg took me out. Overpriced and overhyped. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. read more
