Ordered the koobideh kabob for delivery. I love Persian kabobs because once they're done well they're almost never dry! This was no different very juicy kabob with adequate rice and roasted tomato! The bread was a nice touch. It was packed well! The only thing I didn't love was they added some extra seasoning in the middle of the kabob and I would've preferred it plain, but that's just down to personal taste. It was really good and reheated well as well. Would definitely dine in!
Always an amazing experience when I go here! Authentic Persian food and Amoo is always there working and greeting the people! The food, service and vibe are all top shelf and prices are very reasonable! If you want great Persian food this is your place!
Delicious food. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and was finally able to go. And I'm happy I did. They were super busy when we arrived so it took about 10 minutes to check on us but were very apologetic. All good. The setting is very casual so not a romantic first date setting, but the food is delicious so if you want to impress via taste buds, then give it a try. Everything looked so good so we all tried different dishes for a wider experience. For starters we had tahdig, which I think is a must-try. I've wanted to try tahdig for awhile now and this hit my spot. For my meal, I had the pesto chicken kabobs, upgraded with shirin sweet polo rice, which was amazing on its own. One of my kids had the kadoo, which was also delicious. My wife had the bademjan, another winner. Also tried were the fesenjan, among other dishes. Again, everything was great.
It was good... service was incredible, interior very welcoming and cozy. But I still have to say for authentic flavors Kabob Baazar in Clarendon still feels more true to me, for grandmas cooking and flavors. She tried a few dishes from kabobs to pomegranate stew (which is notoriously challenging to make), and it all tasted OK. The reality is people adore it here and they have a huge following which I am glad for them as again the place and space its self is lovely ! But not the flavor profile that hits it totally right for us :). For a nicer Persian meal in McClean check out Divan as well, their flavor profile is much more of our choice :)
I had the LAMB CHIMICHURI with KUBIDEH which was a customized SULTANI and it was AMAZING something I would definitely try again the FOOD, the SERVICE, and AMBIANCE, is definitely unmatched and the owner is very HUMBLE so are the workers very nice and easy to talk to I definitely do recommend this SPOT
Great spot! I heard good things about Amoos and had to give it a try. There was an older gentleman who I presume is the owner who greeted me at the front and was very kind. The food was also great- the chicken was very well seasoned and tender. I also had enough leftovers for dinner.
Deliciousness - 4/5 Happiness 5/5 This was a really fun time at a truly unique middle eastern restaurant. You want quantity? The size of these entrees can sate the growliest tummy. You want quality? Flavors and unique offerings galore. Your wallet's in a pinch? No problem, as there are plenty of affordable options (and you'll definitely have leftovers). What I particularly enjoyed were some of the options that you don't see too often. The Tahdig is a must-have appetizer if you're eating with a group - a mini meal in itself, you get truly flavorful crispy rice topped with wonderfully cooked meat to share. I also really loved the option to get a cornish game hen as the gamy taste of the meat paired well with the saffron lime spice blend they grilled it in. We got the house wine, which was very flavorful. And my wife particularly enjoyed saffron ice cream (a dessert I've not come across - loaded with pistachios as well). The lamb is juicy and fall of the bone (if you're wise enough to get it bone-in), and everything had a great char to it. The service was also really great. We were warmly greeted, the waiter struck a great balance of engaging and letting us have our conversation, and everyone we met was friendly. I can't praise them enough for the fun service and meal.
4/8/24 On our way from the Great Falls VA to DC, google Maps suggested this along the way, and we decided to stop in for something different. Ana and Estelle were friendly and helpful. We haven't been to many Persian restaurants, so it took time to understand the menu Saffron Iced Tea and Saffron Hot Tea Both were delicious, so refreshing. Kashk Bademjan Dip - Yogurt Eggplant Dip This was so good, spreading it on the bread. Mahicheh with Tahdig - Lamb Shank with bottom of the pot rice aka Concon aka Pegao Of course, hubby had to get the rice. His Dominican blood would not stand for him to pass this up, LOL. And he loved it. Cornish Hen with Baghali Polo They cut the Cornish Hen up for easy eating. I love that! It's so small and hard to eat when whole. Lima Bean rice was delicious. I'm so sad they are so far away. I would love to try everything on the menu!

It's located in a small strip mall but do not let that fool you. The service we received from the moment we arrived by our server Ana and the rest of the staff was wonderful. Now on to the food. Where do I start we tried 4 different plates and mixed and matched. We tried for starters the hummus and Laboo - served with warm pita. Entrees we tried were the traditional Koobideh - the saffron chicken - Chimichurri Chicken - and a lamb dish (can't remember the name). This came with saffron rice and Fasl Seasonal Garden Salad. The meats were all so flavorful and tender. Everything was hot and fresh. For dessert we had to try both the saffron ice cream and the baklava! We loved it so much the sad part is when we crave this we will be too far to order Please give them a try. You will not be disappointed. When we return to VA we will definitely visit again.
Small, family owned business serving classic Iranian/Persian dishes. The owners were very kind and welcoming- my friend and I came when it was empty so the service was fast. Overall a homey feeling on the inside. I got the Barg Soltani which includes a Barg Kabob and Koobideh Kabob. I was disappointed by the Barg- I hadn't had Barg in a while and recall it being flavorful, juicy, and tender. But, this was hard to cut, chewy, and not flavorful or juicy. However, their koobideh was nicely seasoned, easy to cut, and juicy. Although not a normal part of Persian cuisine, I enjoyed the green sauce/chutney provided as it actually had some heat to add to the bland rice and Barg kabob. The rice was salty and I wish butter came with it like at other Persian restaurants. My friend ordered the vegan tofu fesenjoon. I only tried the sauce and it was sweet, but good. They seemed to enjoy it. Overall, not bad food. But, I had higher expectations for the Barg which was a big disappointment for me. I expected more flavor from this place. Their koobideh is good, but I've had better kabobs overall at other places. I'm not sure if I'd come back again, but it's decent.
Wonderful traditional Persian food. Some of the best tasting kabobs I have ever had. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I think this has become our new kabobs place.

We had a wonderful experience dining at Amoo's! We started with the hummus and pita, which was accompanied by a vibrant and somewhat spicy chimichurri. I then enjoyed the tahdig with bean and potato stew, and my partner enjoyed the lamb. Will definitely dine here again!! Another note, we observed they were doing a lot of Uber Eats, so it must be a popular place! read more
I really enjoyed the place, the service was great and the food was good. It's a really nice restaurant and although it wasn't packed when I went, it will be a great place for family dining or a large group. It was a pleasure meeting the owner, he was so delightful and friendly and came over to introduce himself and checked on me multiple times to make sure I was having a great experience. A little goes a long way and I was happy to support this establishment. I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area. read more
Wow! Pleasantly surprised how great this place was. Parking is a little tight & on a hill so be caution of that! Menu has a great selection of meats and kabobs to select from in addition to apps! I opt for the saffron chicken that pairs with saffron rice (can opt to have salad as well) and this was amazing!!! Chicken was extremely flavorful & juicy (for chicken breast especially!) the rice was fluffy & tasty (perhaps had some butter mixed in) I wish there was so sort of sauce to pair with this meal but still amazing. Service was friendly and nice - there indoor seating but the dining space a little limited. Recommend coming before dinner rush bc this place is packed! read more

Certainly one of the best Persian restaurants in the DMV region. Check out the Tahdig but recommend getting the stew on the side so as to keep the crispiness of the rice. The lamb loin filet with saffron cream is next level. Service is excellent. Prices are very reasonable. Beware parking is somewhat limited. read more

This restaurant exceeded my expectations. It's rare that you find vegan kabobs at a Persian restaurants, and it was soooo good (speaking as someone who has had meat kabobs as well). We arrived without a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes, regularly checked up on, and even introduced to the owner of the restaurant. Everyone was very kind and double checked with us to make sure they got our order correct. The vegan Koobideh was definitely the star plate, so delicious with the roasted tomatoes. The Fesenjan Stew was not particularly my favorite - I was not expecting the the pomegranate flavors to be so prominent - but I can understand why others might like it. Still, it was a very unique dish and symbolic of Irani culture. If I went back again, I would opt to try a different stew. The Tahdig was also cooked perfectly, just like my mom makes it :) Overall, I would recommend the drive out to try this authentic and unique Irani joint. Try to make reservations if you have the chance to avoid a wait as it can get busy! read more

The only & only place in NOVA to get the most tender, flavorful, authentic Persian food. The owner(s) are super sweet and accommodating, the restaurant itself is clean, and the food is to die for. Have been here at least 8 times and it gets better with every visit!! Mast mousir 5/5 yogurt with shallot on their fresh pita bread is a must-order for an app. Chimichurri sauce 1000/5 I ask for extras EVERY TIME and take it back home with me. Yes, it's that good. Koobideh 5/5 phenomenal beef skewers paired with ample amounts of saffron and butter rice and roasted tomato. Saffron juicy 4.5/5 juiciest chicken I've had to date. Huge portions and divine when paired with chimichurri sauce and sumac. Amoo's is WAY better than Shamshiry in my humble opinion... and the loyal customers who frequent Amoo's would agree with me. read more

I can't speak for the physical restaurant because we had delivery. We were staying in a hotel nearby and decided to order Amoo's for dinner based on the reviews. My husband had the bison and I had the chimichurri chicken skewers. Both of our meals came with saffron rice. I didn't try the bison but my husband loved it. The chicken skewers had great flavor, were cooked well and I loved the chimichurri sauce. It had a little spice to it which I liked. We also ordered the Kashk Bademjan Dip. I never had anything like it. It was savory but I also tasted what I think was cinnamon. I really enjoyed it. The bread we had was very good. We ordered baklava as well and it was the best baklava I've ever had. I loved that it had a lot of pistachios. We would definitely visit often if we lived in the area. My only complaint was our meals didn't come with plastic utensils which we needed since we were staying in a hotel. Luckily we were able to grab some from the front desk. Interestingly, they did give us straws for our canned sodas though. read more

This Persian Restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. Our waitress gave us great suggestions and was very attentive! We started off with their hummus and warm bread. The lamb was moist and perfectly seasoned! The meals are not shy in their portion sizes. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert, but we will surely return! read more

It is a great spot to have lunch or dinner. I first tried this place with my coworkers and then I brought my family for dinner. 1. Food: good and hearty It is not some Michelin star experience, it is a hearty, easy-going home food like feel. They do have a generous portion of rice and kebob or other meat and always dresses it up with a flower, which is sort of their signature. 2. Drinks: you can stick with beer or rather i'd recommend tea here. 3. Service: a bit slow, and no-nonsense, simple I'd certainly recommend this place for simple good food out. Their food will work great as a take-out too as there's nothing that's get mushy or lose shape in travel. read more
