We really enjoyed Istanbul Kitchen at the Tysons Corner mall. It's a casual joint where you order at the counter and can make your own platter/bowl. Then you pick up your food at the counter when it's ready. The food was very flavorful, and we got to try an assortment of foods including rice, beans, veggies, salad, kebab meat. I also ordered a veggie borek. Everything was tasty! I also really appreciated that they had some couch seating in addition to standard tables and chairs. I needed to discretely breastfeed our baby, and I was able to do so comfortably on the couch. There was also room to park our stroller. read more

Delicious platters, plenty in portion, amazing and warm service! At Tysons Corner, it's nice to know there is a healthier option with generous portion available at Istanbul Kitchen. I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of such a flavorful platter! I really appreciated how kind the owners were while figuring out what to order. They were super attentive and friendly! Plenty of seating I think as well both inside and right outside. Great place to grab lunch if you work in the area for sure! This place is located on the bottom floor where the convenience store used to be. read more

We came here Monday. Food is not bad. They throw in a lot i. one disposable plate that all the food gets mixed up. You do not get to taste 7 items . They should consider using compartment plates. Generous portion of salad which was good . Baba Ganaush and another side was all mixed up . Along with rice chicken curry and beef meatball . Honestly a hot mess. Couldn't taste the vegetable curry too. read more

We came here on a weekday after shopping at the mall and found the service to be very attentive, the food had generous portions, and it was all customizable. I think if you're looking for a bite away from the chaos of the mall and food court, this is a great option. The borek was my favorite - very tender and flaky! read more

Healthy and delicious option inside Tyson's mall at an affordable price! Great and friendly service. I believe it is family owned. Plenty of seating as well so it was a nice break while shopping. Food: I got the medium Istanbul platter that comes with a salad, choice of dip, choice of protein, and choice of vegetable. I got chicken, chickpeas, and the purple cabbage dip (soooo good) . Ask for a side of their spicy sauce as well, it's not spicy but more smoky and savory in my opinion and added so much flavor. I love this spot because the food tastes so fresh and homemade. My second time here and everything has been consistent, definitely check it out! read more

A locally owned restaurant in Tyson's mall! So refreshing to find among all the chains there. Portions are plentiful, absolutely delicious, and you are getting healthy options, not fried food. This outstanding platter with veggies and meatballs goes for around $17 and it's enough for two meals. The stewed beans are the best thing on the plate and I was not expecting that. I was so charmed by the adorable Turkish delight sweets that I bought some for a friend's birthday. Staff was so helpful in creating a nice little presentation in a sturdy box for me. read more

Amazing experience. Amazing food. Everything is homemade and the staff is incredibly kind.

Solid Turkish food with large portions. I can't wait until they open the Falls Church location which is closer to me. It's simple but healthier with plenty of flavor with their sauces. Their desserts are also really good, pistachio based which are my favorite. read more

Their food is simple with a limited selection, but it feels fresh and healthy, which I really appreciated. Their desserts were delicious as well, I tried a cake which was like tres leches cake and very tasty. Customer service was generally good; however, I would recommend being mindful about conversations at the counter. While we were waiting to pay, the cashier continued chatting with the previous customer while our food was in front of her. read more

Istanbul Kitchen (located in Tyson's Corner mall) serves healthy, delicious food made with Love. My wife and I split a large platter of stewed chicken, delicious rice, stewed chickpeas, and the most beautiful salad. The person serving us was so kind and lovely. He prepared our plate with the utmost care. He brought a complementary sample of a very tasty spiced drink to us while we ate. There is a warmth and hospitality to this little restaurant that is very special-- and amazing food along with it. read more

Great staff and great coffee! I stopped here for a quick bite and coffee while at the mall. I had a Turkish coffee and a baklava. Both of which were perfect. I will say the price for the size of the baklava is a little high, but it was tasty. So much so that I returned and got a slice of orange cake and it was also delicious. I highly recommend you give this little cafe a try.even though it's in the mall and open to the people walking past it's still got a cute and comfy vibe to it. It's near the Cheesecake Factory entrance at the mall!! read more

I wish I could give this place more than five stars! The owners were so sweet and happy to let us try their signature dishes and drinks! The Turkish pie and Turkish coffee hit the spot. I love it and definitely will be coming back. The only thing I wish was different was that they had a better location because their traffic would be so much better. They are a hidden gem that deserve so much more love! Thank you for being such a wonderful and authentic spot! read more

We went to the new location in Falls Church. It was so bright and cheerful with a beautiful hand-painted mural. The owner was very welcoming and fun to talk to, and she made recommendations that were delicious. The food was perfect. We took it to go but would definitely eat in the restaurant as well. Wasn't sure where to park so I used the Dunkin Donuts parking area and crossed the street to the restaurant. Easy peasy. Highly recommend and I'm so glad they are in Falls Church now. read more

I first met Ferida at the Rosslyn Farmers Market in 2020. I've been a huge fan of her food and business, Ozfeka Catering, ever since! When I moved to Ballston, I continued to buy from the Ozfeka table at the Ballston farmers market. I was super happy to see Istanbul Kitchen open its doors after hearing Ferida speak about her ambitions for the restaurant before she had even found a location. Every time I go to Tysons Corner Center, this is my go-to for food and sweets. I love how open the space is, but still ensconced from the noises of the mall. Whether you come across Ozfeka at a farmers market or go to Istanbul Kitchen, I highly recommend the burek, kofte, tzatziki, babaganoush, Zucchini Fritters, almond cookies, and çai. read more

A very average and overpriced mall restaurant. I recently went here for lunch with a friend during a shopping day at Tyson's and we went here as it looked like the best of several options. The restaurant itself is no-frills, with some Turkish decorations among the typical mall-design restaurant. I got the Istanbul Platter and the Turkish Bagel for dine-in, and the food came in a timely manner. The bagel was fine, if overpriced. However, the Istanbul Platter was over $16, and almost half the platter was rice pilaf. The rice was decent, but the rest of the platter was mediocre. The chicken lacked flavor and leaned towards the rubbery side. The pita square could not hold up to the food I put on it, the chickpeas needed more seasoning, and the salad was a few leaves. Given food quality options and prices at Tyson's Corner Mall, I would bring your own food or eat elsewhere. read more

This place left me in an existential quandary pondering all of my previous cuisine choices. As if my entire culinary-life flashed before my eyes and was found wanting. From the staff kindness and excitement to give me an experience, to the quality of taste and authenticity, I cannot recommend highly enough. Great Turkish food, served by super friendly employees, in an authentic atmosphere. I ordered the Istanbul platter; a buffet style dish with rice, your choice of meet, veggies, and a salad. I chose kofte for meat, a ground beef stew with potatoes, okra as veggie, and a side salad with hummus. Everything was just amazing! The rice very aromatic, the kofte spicy but not hot, delicious! I recommend pairing the meal with their house lemonade mixed with Sherbet (a traditional hibiscus drink), very aromatic and refreshing. Turkish coffee after food to seal the deal, happiness served for lunch! read more

For a small dine-in restaurant inside the Tysons Mall, the food was really amazing and felt authentic. We got Istanbul platters (choice of protein, veg, salad, and 2 mezzes) and pistachio baklava. The service was good, and they had a ton of sweets/baked goods options, and allowed us to have samples. Highlight is definitely the baklava!! My biggest complaint is that they use paper plates, which got kind of soggy and felt bendy. Something more sturdy and visually pleasing can be better, even for single-use options. We will definitely be back. read more

What a hidden gem in Tysons Corner Mall! I am so glad I tried this restaurant! I got the Istanbul platter, and had some of the juiciest chicken ever. I believe the main dish changes depending on the day; today it was chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and everything on my platter was delicious. My favorites were the chef's salad, chicken, cabbage and rice. I also got their homemade lemonade and it was some of the best lemonades I've had in awhile. The service was very quick and they were so friendly and kind. They also let me try a sample of chicken and rice before committing to my order. Ambiance was great as well; the interior design is so pretty! Food, service, and overall experience was top-notch; I highly recommend this place! Check it out! read more

Came here for the authentic coffee (and sweets) and wasn't particularly impressed by the serving sizes. I have had Turkish coffee before and it's normally in a jug, which I realize I could've ordered instead. Maybe next time. My coffee, compared to others with pictures, came with a very small delight. It was tasty regardless but I wish they didn't discriminate so obviously. I also had planned on ordering cake or baklava, but I found their prices exorbitant. Their slices are extremely small, and should not cost more than $3-4 imo, and yet they're charging $8-9 for an inch. Yikes. I'm wondering if most of their business comes from their food? I guess I'll have to find a different coffee spot. The coffee itself was pretty average and not strong enough. The cup is small and had a lot of grounds so it was like an espresso shot. The delights were tasty. Not sure if they're homemade. read more

Amazing food! One of the best meatball I had! Services is great as well. She explained all the dishes to us.

I love to come Tyson's mall and stop at this place to drink my favorite Turkish tea and relax. The place has home made good food made with quality ingredients. The flavor transport me to some time of my childhood and I am a Latina. I love every dish. I have been visiting them since they open every time I stop by the mall I eat here. First off, I was greeted so pleasantly by what can only be described as family hospitality. Being a Turkish food junkie I was hoping for some beef iskender (my fav dish) but she immediately recommended the meatballs and gave me a sample of the chicken and meatballs which were so flavorful. I got a meatball platter (which def could have used more meatballs but I'm a fatty and they actually gave out more than CAVA or MEZZEH would even consider. I gotta say this place is a gem. It sits right in Tyson's mall tucked away in the corner so there's plenty of space and a relaxing atmosphere. I just got the meatballs with extra meatballs, they do a gorgeous and fresh salad and give you options of sides. I wanted extra meatballs. They provided. Then the nice lady who I can only think is the owner, gave me a tea on the house while I ate my three flavor baklava which is absolutely the best in the area and I don't say that lightly. Best baklava in the area. A little pricey, 9 dollars for 3, but inflation hit everywhere so it's worth it. Highly recommend the meatball platter ! Will be back read more
