Very good pad thai if you crave one while in the area. We also ordered spicy cat fish and a few appetizers, all good and tasty. Service is good. Clean tables and seating. I believe I was given complimentary taro drink for dining in and ordering more than too many for our party-chef came out and brought out a couple of our dishes with such enthusiasm though he did not speak but could tell his facial expression was of gratitude and hospitality! I visited recently and ordered to go pad sew ee, it was very good but the noodles' texture were very soft by the time I got home to eat, from packaging. I've been to this Thai spot in Brambleton a few times, and overall, the food has been decent. It's usually quick, and my orders have been correct most of the time. For a convenient Thai option in the area, it's been a reliable go-to--until my last visit. During that visit, we ordered a curry dish and drunken noodles and requested mild spice, as we always do. Unfortunately, what we received was extremely spicy--so much so that neither my friend nor I could eat the food. For context, my friend has a higher spice tolerance than I do, and I'd say I'm somewhere in the middle, but this was way beyond either of us. When we brought this up to our server, we were told (rather dismissively) that what we received was the mild version. This was frustrating because we've both eaten here before and know what their mild spice level usually tastes like. To make matters worse, my friend was nine months pregnant and just wanted something she could comfortably eat. We asked if we could have the dishes remade or swapped out for something else, but the server didn't offer any solutions. Instead, she just laughed it off and insisted that this was the mildest option available. There was no real effort to make things right, and we left feeling unheard and disappointed. We ended up boxing up the food but didn't even take it home--it was simply too spicy to eat. Unfortunately, that experience left a bad taste (literally and figuratively), and I haven't been back since. We recently move to the Broadlands and had to give up our favorite Thai delivery spot. I didn't want to like My Thai Place, I am that tied to our favorite place and My Thai Place is more expensive. Well, darn it, we love it. Our favorite dishes are simply delicious and so fresh. So it's more expensive. I guess I'll have to get over it. Everything we tried was good! I loved the green curry with bamboo shoots. Although I had gotten it with beef I feel as though it could have been better with a different meat choice. For appetizers we got crispy tofu and calamari which were both amazing and came with sauce! Service was a bit slow since it had seemed to be understaffed today, but everyone was wonderful! I kept on hearing that this place wasn't that good but the group I was with insisted on going here. Unfortunately, the rumors were right. Not only was the food not good, the service was sub par as well. We were given a drink menu first (before a food menu) and we all tried to order drinks but they insisted that every drink had "real milk" in it. They didn't have any alternative milk or creamer to use instead and I can't have milk at all. It was extremely awkward since they kept pushing the drinks and I literally couldn't have any. Two people in the group ordered thai iced teas and I noticed that if you checked in on Yelp, you got a thai iced tea for free. I asked for them to apply it and they said okay. Well, we we got the bill, it was on there. I asked for them to remove it from the bill and they tried to make one for carry out instead. They huffed around and passive aggressively cleared the plates after honoring the coupon. Why have the coupon online if you don't want to honor it? Or tell me you're not going to honor it right from the beginning... To the food: I got the pad see ew and my friend got the pad pik khing (medium spice). My boss got the crispy chicken and I forgot what everyone else ordered. We ordered the spring rolls with tofu and the chicken satay. The chicken satay was good, but the peanut sauce that it came with was separated with a layer of oil on top. The spring rolls were mainly mint and lettuce with a small, sad piece of unmarinated tofu. And I know how to make tofu flavorful. Food was brought out as it was done, which I appreciated. My pad see ew was sad. They were sickly sweet and the broccoli was basically uncooked and mostly stems. My friend's dish was not spicy at all and just tasted like coconut milk. American-Chinese food lovers, you know what I'm saying!? -They do not offer the Thai spice tray condiments that I'm used to for take-out/delivery, unlike other Thai restaurants in the area. The Thai chili powder is weak. -No loyalty rewards program. Overall; this Thai restaurant is mediocre but when you have some top-notch Thai spots in the area, it makes it even more hard to give them a 3/4-star rating, so I'm going to have to give them 2-stars until I see some improvements. We have eaten here and gotten takeout from them for 10 years now. The quality ranges from 3 stars to 5 stars depending on the night and the entree you order. The interior is reasonably nice and the delivery times are fairly quick. Overall solid but nothing usually above and beyond. Until tonight. We placed a delivery order via GrubHub. It was ready in under 30 minutes, and the driver picked it up shortly thereafter. However, he never delivered our food. My wife went to the restaurant (only 3 minutes from our house) and confirmed it had been picked up. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do - it was up to us to get a refund with GrubHub. We did, but that left us sad and hungry. At least temporarily. 15 minutes later, our doorbell rings. Standing there with a large bag full of fresh Thai food is the owner (or manager?) of My Thai Place. We generally order from this place and have probably ordered anywhere from 7 to 8 times over the last year or two. I think I finally need to start venturing out to other places for my Thai fix. We ordered DoorDash last night and the order arrived missing dumplings. You could tell the order was checked because the order ticket was stapled to the bag and it was sealed but somebody did not do good quality control from the restaurant. DoorDash gave us a credit so I can move on from that. Reflecting on my dinner last night, this morning I went back on their website to look and I was correct in thinking the chicken paradise I ordered was actual chicken that was chopped. What I got was a ground ball of chicken and there were several of them so it was plenty of food to eat but they were very dry. There was plenty of sauce in the dish but with ground chicken you roll them into meatballs they can dry pretty quickly. Again going back to the fact that I did order a crispy chopped chicken, tossed with spicy garlic chili sauce and topped with crispy basil leaves, I was surprised that I was eating ground chicken meatballs. I knew I got the right dish because all the other ingredients were there. My recommendation for the restaurant is that if you don't have the ingredients to make the dish, don't make it at all. But it wasn't like they were out of chicken. So I decided to write this review just to give people a heads up if they're going to order this dish. I still had one meatball left so I am including it here in a photo. You can definitely tell from the menu photos from their website and this photo this is not chicken paradise. The Pad Thai is good but unremarkable. I would not recommend the spring rolls. They are bland and taste nothing like Vietnamese spring rolls. Ordered take out from this place so keep that mind when reading my review... Wife and I had a Thai fix and so we ordered drunken noodles, pad Thai, crispy duck, crispy catfish and crab fried rice. Portions weren't very large for what they charge, so was kind of disappointed in that aspect (knocked off one star for value). Everything was decent for the most part except the drunken noodles. It lacked flavor compared to other places. I believe the crispy duck entree would have been pretty crispy if we had eaten in, but during the transit, the trapped heat must've moistened the dishes somewhat so I can't complain about it. The crispy catfish was just not worth it for the amount you get, I'd avoid it next time. I was expecting it to be a little better, but it did overall leave us satisfied. I probably wouldn't eat here again because there are better Thai options where I am. As of time of writing this review it has an overall rating of 3.5/5 and I think that's pretty accurate in our experience. read more

The portion size has definitely decreased but I think their drunken noodles are delicious. I always get the tofu drunken noodles and ask for extra spice. It is usually not very spicy but it is a good deal for lunch. Be warned though that the lunch special is only available on weekdays. I never think of Thai food when I think of Asian cuisine. Perhaps it can be due to eating either pho, sushi, or Chinese when going Asian. I won't exclude Thai cuisine anymore after eating here. I've been in a vegetarian mood and quite pleased they had a vegetarian section on their menu. Started with the veggie potstickers which were alright although I likely could've made them at home but an appetizing filler before the main course arrived which was the Pad See-Ew Jae, almost a veggie alternative to Pad Thai. It's filled with carrots and Chinese broccoli and do add the egg for that protein your diet requires. It was filling and tasted great. Thai knew it would be good! I didn't see many people inside but I noticed many people do carry out here. I do prefer eating in the restaurant since it has a nice interior with a small bar area.
