The food is fine. We like to support the small shops and restaurants around here, and try to rotate between them all when it's time to order out. We normally call our order in, but decided to try the online ordering system since we were out and it was noisy. Once we got to the website, we saw some coupons had popped up but it wouldn't allow us to apply to the order. We thought the coupons might've been a mistake, but we decided to bring it in to the store to show them and ask if they were valid. And if not, we were prepared to order regardless and just wanted to make sure the restaurant knew these were showing up on their website. The man behind the counter met him with such an incredibly bad attitude and was angry at my husband for even showing it to him. He basically accused my husband of forging these coupons or finding them somewhere else- when they are posted right on their website. His attitude was so incredibly off putting that we decided to get lunch elsewhere today. Maybe he was having a bad day, who knows. But all my husband did was go in to ask the question and tried to make the restaurant aware that it was on their own website. First, I LOVE that this is a family owned business and I'm always happy to support! The inside has ample seating and service is always good. Online ordering is super simple and I usually spend enough money I get a free item (pro tip: the larb gai is awesome!). The owner is super nice and tries to get to know the people who stop in. I'm not a vegetarian and absolutely LOVE the spicy eggplant dish! Pad Thai is really pretty good too - not my #1 favorite, but in the top 5 in the area. If you get the shrimp option, they are large. I like that you can add extra proteins to the pad thai (and other dishes). The tom kha soup was awesome and the amount of chicken is plentiful. I really enjoy adding a bit of rice to it and it was great as a leftover the next day. I'd also recommend the drunken noodles. read more

My cousin got catering from here for his kids' birthday party and it was pretty good. The pad thai and fried rice were pretty flavorful. Pad see ew was good and so was the chicken satay...which is a must try at any Thai place I check out. It was surely not the best Thai food I've ever had but it was also takeout and not fresh at the restaurant to be fair. If you are looking for quick thai food, this can be the place. However if you also want quality, I might not recommend this place. This place is saltier on their dishes, and have more sugar added to their seasoning. Also their price for the soup was steep, as the soup was a smaller bowl than anticipated, and they did not offer a larger option (didn't have larger option) the one size was smaller than a small to go cup. Although we were able to make a reservation for 12, which was our goal, the food there was disappointing. The owners were nice, but we are probably not going to go back since their food quality wasn't the best and was way too salted and sugared. I opted for an extra starter, Tom Kha Gai soup. It was perfection and they did not scrimp on the chicken either. I would like to try the vegetable or shrimp next time. My lunch special 5 consisted of drunken noodle (I asked for chili level 1) and Thai garden with a scoop of jasmine rice. The lunch special is a great deal here. $10 for two different dishes (lunch portion), and you can add-on a spring roll for $1 extra. I opted for Drunken Noodles (level 2 spicy) and Panang Curry (level 2 spicy) lunch special. The Drunken noodles were originally level 3, but BOY, was level 2 still spicy! Definitely a good sign if a Thai place has authentic spiciness to their food. **Forewarning for people who can't handle spice well to just let them know you'd like it mild, or not spicy! I also tried some of my sister's boat noodle soup, which is difficult to find around this area and I recommend if you like Pho you'd probably like it because it's similar. For a company-sponsored lunch and learn, my org allowed us to select from a few delivery service options and Thai Ashburn was among those selections. We have not done any takeout or delivery options due to "our current events" for over a year, and mostly cook at home. So, this was a very nice welcomed, local great find. We really enjoyed entire experience. Thai Ashburn also has some great vegan / vegetarian options too. Yay! The delivery packaging was very thoughtful and clean. For example, the containers were well-constructed and separated with dividers; plastic silverware was sealed in its own bag; and the delivery bag was double bagged with bag-sealing tape. Lunch Order: Tom Kha Soup; Chicken Satay; and Spicy Basil Fried Rice. - The soup was creamy and delicious. Really love coconut milk-base soups. We could have order 2 more of these. - For the spicy basil fried rice's 'taste bud temperature control', we ordered "mild." The dish was a oversized lunch portion and had some great flavors. The next time, we will inquire a bit more about the taste bud temperature options - the dish was still a little bit spicy for me. Overall, a very wonderful dish and would order it again for sure. Pretty good Thai food for this area, pricing is up there but they give you a good amount of food to make up for it so it's not terrible at all. I believe they are a lot more mild when it comes to spices, my husband can't really handle certain spices so this place is perfect for him for Thai food and I don't mind it either. After a nice trip to the animal farm with my family, we decided to search for a Thai restaurant to eat at, and came across this wonderful quiet place. Well for starters we presented the veggie Spring rolls with sweet sauce, then placed the order for our entrees which we liked tremendously. Especially my lemongrass & coconut taste soup...WoW!!! The texture, and taste of the food was delish, and to end it all we choose to go with the sticky mango rice and coconut ice cream. Probably my favorite Thai food place. We came across this business while in the area and needing a quick bite to eat that wasn't a drive thru. When we walked in, there we no other patrons inside but we were greeted immediately and shown to our seats at a booth. The server was friendly and prompt and said "thank you" after each of our orders. While waiting for the food (it didn't take long at all), we saw a steady stream of folks coming in to collect a take out order or a delivery person picking up the next set of orders. The food was fabulous. The names of the dishes weren't familiar to me, but the descriptions were hard to resist. The sauces and the glazes on the food were flavorful and exciting. Order from this place a lot and I seem to be getting disappointed each time now. First off, I have seen one of the guys that works here smoke right in front of the door and go back in and not wash his hands, went right to grabbing food. Disgusting. If you have to smoke don't do it right in front of your restaurant do it out back or somewhere else and wash your hands!!! Second, the prices are too high even for lunch specials. The portion sizes are insanely small for what you pay for. Come on guys work on it!! The panang curry i ordered was not curry. It's usually a lot of liquid and some chicken but this was a lot of chicken and then a lot of oil and all clumpy and it looked disgusting. It didn't even taste like panang curry. So gross!!!! The fried rice i received today was undercooked and flavorless and drenched in oil. Not good at all. The curry is good but overpriced and they are not consistent on the spice level. The drunken noodle is good but way too much garlic. I went out with my coworkers for lunch here. Couple of them were vegetarians. It wasn't very crowded. We were seated pretty quickly and the menu seemed quite extensive. I decided to try the lunch special #2 which is pad Thai and panang curry with rice. The appetizer options were 1 spring roll, 2 gyuzo or a cup of soup. I got the spring roll. The food arrived in 10 minutes for our table of 5. It was good but not too spicy. I had to ask for chilli tray to increase the spice level. The price was around 14. They automatically added gratuity for our group. Next time I will try some of the other dishes on the menu. All-in-all a pretty decent place for Thai food. My vegetarian co-workers asked to not use fish sauce for their dishes and they were able to cater to them too. read more

I've never been happy at Thai Ashburn, their portions have always been small and they give you a very small portion of rice. I'm always out of rice before finishing the meal. This time, the Chicken Madness portion was cut down even further and the rice potion was cut down by about 40% from an already small portion. Additionally, each and every time, without fail, the person who takes the order is very unfriendly, she walks away while you're still speaking with her, never makes you feel welcomed, in facts, she makes every effort to make you feel unwelcome, as if she was doing us a favor for taking our order. This used to be one of my family's favorite thai restaurants in the area but we hadn't been back for awhile. We decided to dine here after a couple of years and we're very disappointed. The service was average. Our waitress didn't smile and took her time with things. The food was 3 stars at best. The calamari appetizer was nothing special. In fact, it lacked flavor. The pad thai was terrible. The noodles were over cooked and chopped up as if they were broken to begin with. My dad was nice and kept it but I would've sent that back immediately. My mom and I got the boat noodle soup. I enjoyed it but my mom thought it was too salty. Overall, we were not pleased with our experience here.
