All the food we ordered was terrible. The worst one was the dumplings, doughy and just inedible. Everyone refused to eat their food ($80 worth of) and we had to order from a different place. Will not be buying from here again, quality was terrible.

Tasteless fried rice with some boiled meats. Yuck

I can't believe people actually eat here more than once. The food was lousy at best. The fried rice looks like it had some soy sauce thrown on it, all the meats looked boiled and didn't have any seasoning at all. The noodles were over cooked and I was lucky if I could find two noodles that were long enough to hold with chopsticks. The "crispy beef" lol let's face it it wasn't crispy since it came submerged in some sauce. Come on guys you have to be able to do better than this! $50 for lunch wasted. SMH...

Oh so good. After running some errands with mom, this was the prefect choice for some lunch. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Chicken Corn Soup- excellent way to start the meal. Nice and fulfilling. Mongolian Chicken- Great flavorful entree which comes with white rice. Beef Lo Mein- Great choice of noodles with thinly cut beef strips. My mom isn't eating spicy food anymore so I didn't order anything spicy. It was just nicely seasoned and flavorful. But it was nice they had some spices and sauces on the tables to make the meal more spicy if you wanted it to be. This restaurant does a lot of pick up and delivery orders, but they had decent amount of tables. It was so close to my parents' house that we did dine in. With yelp check in, I received 10 percent discount as well. Side Note- Menu has halal options, which is great. ~

Good food, quality service, clean place run by friendly people. The location of this restaurant is not really that great. I've been there twice and I see empty parking lot. But I recommend this restaurant.

Vegetarian Lo Mein and (2) Spring Rolls (this was after eating 1/3 LM and 1 SR)

I read the reviews and took the chance of just going in and ordering food to go. I came at a great time as it was not too crowded. Placed my order and was greeted nicely; and just minutes later - order was ready. Service was great and the food including portion was just right. Picture the order of being... enough for at least two servings. Would definitely recommend this restaurant because overall my visit was favorable. Half of food gone before could get a pic... but the idea! ***Vegetarian lo mein and spring rolls, go try and see for yourself.

This place is perfect for family and for couples. The environment is casual yet extremely friendly. The food is cooked to perfection. Service is professional and quick. My only suggestion for the owner is to please place a space heater by the entrance during cold weather so that when guests are entering or exiting the cold air from outside is not disrupting your guests who are in the middle of eating. Otherwise this place is the awesome. I will be back soon.

Its just too expensive for this regular American style Chinese food. Most other Chinese restaurants don't charge this much.

Chau's Cafe - Beef Mein Foon

Chau's Cafe has been on and off my radar these past few years. When I saw that Yelp friend, Lyn L…read more went there recently and gave them high marks, we decided to give them a try. Be prepared to hunt for the place if you've never been to the shopping center, which is quite close to Route 7. We were here around 4 p.m. on a Saturday. At that time of day, there was one occupied table. Ordering food means going to the counter and giving your order to the person working there, and then paying. They have a menu on the wall, but the woman working there told us to look at the paper menu. Apparently, the menu on the wall is constantly changing. Before coming, we decided to order Mongolian beef, ma po tofu, and two small bowls of hot and sour soup. At first, my husband couldn't find the Mongolian beef on the menu. I took a look and found it is listed under the chef's specials. We gave our order and also got a can of ginger ale from the refrigerated chest. After paying, we chose a four top table for ourselves. The food came out quickly! First, the hot and sour soup came. It was served hot and did have some kick to it. We both enjoyed it. It does have quite a few button mushrooms in it, which I gave to my husband. Just as we were finishing the soup, both our entrees arrived. We both liked the Mongolian beef (which also had an abundance of button mushrooms). The sauce was tasty, and the beef was tender. As for the ma po tofu, we thought it was okay but could have been better. It's a meat-free entree that basically has large pieces of tofu, a lot of thin, spicy sauce, and bits of green onions. We each were given generous portions of white rice. We would consider visiting again in the future, as the service was excellent. As for ambiance, it has a carry-out place feel. It's kept quite clean.

This has become my go-to for Chinese food. The staff is incredibly kind from the second you walk…read morethrough the door. I love that the portions are "just right"--decent sized without being overwhelming like most places. Plus, if you dine in, the food is out in 5-7 minutes. Super fast! Also, the restaurant and bathrooms are always clean.

I'm not a negative review kind of guy, but when it sucks, it sucks…read more We usually visit once a month, and have not previously encountered a reason to complain. But today broke us. We walked in for lunch and it was busy, 10+ tables. It took a minute to be seated, no big deal, but we noticed immediately that the man seating us was also the ONLY employee on the floor. We watched as he made drinks, boba, pulled cases of Coke behind the counter, refilled water, and some 10 minutes later, finally made it over to take our order. We were very leery, but another employee suddenly appeared out of the back with the table settings and we were assured it was fine. We order and it takes about 10 more minutes just to get the broth. That starts BOILING before any of the meats, vegetables, or other items are delivered to the table. By this point we haven't eaten anything other than the complimentary peanuts and cucumbers, and we've been there a half-hour. My son's chicken arrives soon thereafter, and we finally receive the hot pot stuff. And that's the last we saw of the service team until he brought the check nearly 30 minutes later. We tried waving him down for refills, the other employee walked by and asked if we wanted a refill on the broths and then forgot about us. For an all-you-can-eat hot pot place, they sure can save a ton of money by never refilling your items, drinks, or broth. He brought out the check at nearly an hour later and I asked why he hadn't offered me a refill for any of the hot pot items. He apologized and then asked if I would be paying via card. I used the reward dollars we'd saved from previous visits because we don't think we'll be returning. Literally, absolutely zero inclination to serve us more food or even acknowledge that we were still hungry and hadn't seen him or any other staff after the initial table set. I removed the defaulted 22% tip HE selected on the credit card reader he brought to the table and asked for the manager. He said he'd be back, then disappeared to the kitchen immediately and didn't return for the 10 minutes we decided to wait. Another customer asked us if we'd visited before, and we told them we were monthly visitors, but this would likely be our last time. Another employee we hadn't seen the entire time we'd been there came to bus the table and we asked her if there were problems. She told us she couldn't talk about it, then hurried off to the back without even finishing our table. Most likely they were at least watching her, and would retaliate if she said anything out of line. A group walking in heard me complaining as we walked out, stopped me to ask what happened, then followed us back out the door. Can't recommend them anymore. Not sure what happened in the month since we were last there, but it's apparent it's not being managed actively. Short staffed is one issue, being poorly staffed by employees who don't care is a larger problem. Maybe new ownership and management is needed, if it continues like this, the corner will be vacant before too long. Sad, because this was a good place without having to drive to Falls Church. They could've cornered the market here in Ashburn.

We opted for the AYCE menu choosing the duo pot, sichuan spicy & pork bone broth, for $35/ adult…read more They have standard hot pot veggies/ protein options and a decent sauce bar with more unlimited sides, our fave being the seaweed salad! Broth was mediocre (moderately watered down, lacked flavor), fish filet was a huge miss (couldn't finish the small portion we received bc it had unpleasant texture/ chewy after cooked), some meat options were chewy (our fave was the fatty brisket), and some of the veggies didn't seem fresh (mushrooms were soft/ discolored). We still had a good dining experience with the items we did find tasty & trying out a new hot pot spot in the Loudon area! 3.5/5
