I've been to this place several times and have always had a good experience, which is why tonight's visit was especially disappointing. The service was rude and unprofessional. After the server placed the teapot on our table, she told us, don't break it, otherwise it will cost you $180... Later, I asked her about the special dishes listed on the board at the entrance. Instead of explaining the options, she said, "I can't remember that many items in my mind. Please go to the front and take a picture of the menu yourself." It's been a while since we came back to this restaurant. Their Taiwanese a fried chicken is the first time I tried it. In addition to the TFC, we also got the string beans with ground pork, and fish filet with chef's special spicy soy bean sauce. I must admit the fish filet taste is a bit interesting. It is salty as one would expect but that is the main taste. I've also tried the minced pork string bean w dry black bean chili before. It comes with white buns. The challenge of having dim sum on Mothers Day is that every mother is out there enjoying a day out. We stopped in to our local Asian spot. We enjoy their spring rolls and other apps. The won ton in chili sauce was not really one of my faves. The sauce lacked in spice but thank goodness for a side of hot chili sauce. I did enjoy my crispy beef. I have tried this dish before and we actually used the pork as a filling for soft buns with scallions. It was amazing. Another must order for me is the Taiwan style fried chicken. Our son asked for his birthday meal to be orange chicken. So we found this place on Yelp! The inside is bright and clean and all the staff were extremely friendly. It was a Sat night, so it was fairly busy as well. We ordered the tomato egg tofu soup for 2 to start. This was a big serving and very delicious soup. Our two young kids loved it and asked for seconds. We then ordered the orange chicken (not spicy) and the beef bitter melon black bean sauce. Both were extremely delicious! I came here because my friend highly recommended their squid dish, so I knew I had to order the Three-Cup Squid. I also wanted to try their Chinese water spinach, so we ordered these two dishes to start, just for the two of us. The squid tasted fantastic, with vermicelli at the bottom to absorb all the sauce. However, one thing that bothered me was that the squid innards were still inside, even though the staff said everything is eatable except the hard, plastic-like spinal cord of the squid had been removed. The water spinach was crunchy and flavorful. After that, we ordered one more dish--the pepper salt pork ribs. Unfortunately, they didn't have much flavor and were quite bland. The flavor of the cream cheese filling is perfect. And they don't skimp on the filling which is a huge plus considering most places barely put any in! Hot & Sour soup: 8/10. Just try it. You won't be disappointed! Taiwanese fried chicken: 10/10! This is a staple everytime we come here. It's crispy, flavorful, and just DELICIOUS! Trust me, this is one of the best dishes here and a must try. Orange chicken: 9/10. It's flavorful and perfect amount of sweetness. The boneless chicken are the perfect bite size. I'm already craving for this dish again. Chicken lo mein: 8/10. I'm picky with lo mein and this one is always cooked the way I like it. Our most recent visit here was the second time for us. The first visit, we went to dinner with friends who told us this was their favorite Chinese restaurant. In fact, they go so often that the staff knows them and chats with them. We enjoyed the food and the company. I didn't take any photos during this visit. The ambiance clearly says "Chinese restaurant" with its decor. Both times, we found the seating to be comfortable and the tables were spacious. We came here without our friends recently on a Saturday. Service is great---friendly and efficient. We each ordered hot and sour soup to start. To drink, we got a pot of jasmine tea. For our main courses, we ordered Ma Po Tofu with pork and Mooshu beef. The food was very well prepared. The hot and sour soup had a generous amount of stock in it and the right amount of heat. The jasmine tea was served hot. The only problem was that eventually we let it sit too long in the pot that it got bitter, which is often a problem with tea. The Ma Po Tofu was excellent---it had heat but not too much. In other words, we were able to enjoy all the flavors in this dish without the spice drowning it out. The Mooshu beef came with 6 pancakes, which we found to be a generous amount. The beef was tender and the veggies were tender crisp. The side of plum sauce added a nice layer of flavor. We stopped by for dinner. The place was fairly crowded and we were promptly seated in a tight corner table although other better tables were open. We ordered and food came in less than 10 mins, where one of our dishes came with beef instead of chicken, since I had already started eating from that plate till I realized it was beef, they offered to pack it away, and got me a new dish with chicken instead. I was disappointed that they still charged me for that dish - most restaurants will not charge for a wrong order. This review is for the correct restaurant . Just ordered tonight, 4 entrees and two large soups. All was good except the Pork Lo Mein had a sour smell and taste to it, so something is rotten! Called the restaurant and they would not refund me but would credit towards my next order. And no, I am not driving back 20mins to potentially get another non-eatable dish. Honestly, why would I come back for more rotten food? So, after some exchanges, I "ate" the $13 lost (cost of lo mein) and will never return. I'm baffled by the manager's unwillingness to refund due to his/her concerns about online ordering fees (ordered via their website) which I estimate to be no more than a few bucks, at best, for a dish of $13. Regardless, May this be their lesson learned...it's not worth loosing a customer and gaining a bad review over few dollars. Being cheap costs more in the long run. read more

The pork and long bean buns were bland and not as good as the last time, the Szechuan crispy beef was sooooooo overcooked and dry that I almost choked chewing it!?!!! The sa cha beef lo mein was waaayyyy too oily and flavorless, orange chicken was very basic, and to top it off-the servers are not friendly at all!! We spent $160 not including tip and the least the staff can do is smile!!!! Being a minority, (not Asian!) doesn't help! Overall our dining experience was good. This was my 3rd or 4th visit in 3-4 yrs. Service is generally pretty good - they came by to check on us and to pour (& refill the teapot) our hot tea we had on our table. Three Cup Chicken was good, though it tasted better last 2 visits. This visit was on a busy Sunday eve. Salted shrimp was good (easier to use your hands to de-shell, not my preference but ..). Chinese pea greens w/ garlic was good - just plain steamed or lightly blanched - felt healthy eating it but still hoping they didn't use those cheap/bad garlic from China. We asked the server what she'd recommend for a beef dish. She mentioned Szechuan Beef several times and not much else. Photo didn't look appealing but our guest accepted the server's nudging. They were very thin shredded beef deep-fried, seasoned with sugar and garlic. Wasn't bad but I'd say it wasn't my favorite dish and wouldn't order it again. Couple of visits I observed that servers aren't generally good at recommending the dishes (same for most places actually). Overall I'd say they're better with Chinese dishes; ok with rolls but sushi is probably not impressive enough for me to try here. I also had good experience with their fried rice while back. There were large groups of people enjoying a late lunch on Saturday (we arrived about 1330). Even though they were busy, we were immediately seated. My hungry husband went about ordering right away: his go tos are crab wontons, chicken and broccoli, and egg drop soup. I thought the shrimp toast and shrimp and pork dumplings sounded great. I also wanted to try the salted duck egg and green beans, but I thought that would be too much food. The appetizers were excellent! I loved how BIG the shrimp toast was and how it wasn't too greasy. I loved the addition of ginger to the shrimp, which added to the flavor of the shrimp toast. The crab wontons were crisp and well filled. Our main courses were giant! The chicken and broccoli had a fantastic sauce, and the broccoli was fresh and crisp. The dumplings were thin but held their filling. The filling was flavorful with giant chunks of shrimp of plenty of veggies. To top off the experience, our server was very friendly. She would always check on us and provide refills of water. Wish the entree portions were bigger tho; on the plus side, it's a good setting to order an extra dish or two. Selection of green, Jasmine or Oolong teas. The tea preparation is a major effort (compared to other restaurants) as opposed to an afterthought. Truly enjoyed it.
