Location of this restaurant maybe middle of nowhere but worth going. You get great food with good value and friendly service here.

Yen's kitchen is an excellent homey place that brings together familiar flavors with those that bring you back to mainland China or Taiwan. The crispy beef is a crowd pleaser as it's definitely something that can appeal to anyone's tastebuds. The popcorn chicken reminds you of street Taiwanese food that leaves you craving a fresh beer. The buns are so soft and the filling is perfect to distribute amongst the buns. Finally for the adventurous, the sour fish dish brings you back to what authentic cuisine is like with all the funk and taste. I would say that the sushi options are great for those wanting a different type of dish. Parking is plentiful and the ambiance is great for family or friends to enjoy a meal.

Great service, duck skin was nice and crispy and the pancakes were nice and thin, soup was ok , could use a bit more flavor and wasn't salty enough, fish and pea shoots with garlic were good, didn't care much for the chicken and tofu- kind of bland with little texture. We had some guava tea on the side that was refreshing.

Good authentic Taiwanese food in Ashburn. You know it's good when most of the customers are speaking mandarin. The scallion pancakes and Taiwanese style salty crispy chicken were superb. Service was quick and speak both English and mandarin. Decor is nice and authentic Chinese, and seating is nice busy when we were there.

My friend and I ordered from here and it was delicious! The service was fast and quick! The food was so delicious! The restaurant is definitely beautiful as well! We will definitely order from here again!!

Still great - tasty and adjusted by letting them know we wanted less salt to keep it from being too salty for our taste buds. King mushroom, tofu and pepper was great. Solid moo shu pork and the salt pepper chicken was great. Service can move slowly when they are busy, which can be at all meal times! They have a discount for cash, too.

Our son asked for his birthday meal to be orange chicken. So we found this place on Yelp! The inside is bright and clean and all the staff were extremely friendly. It was a Sat night, so it was fairly busy as well. We ordered the tomato egg tofu soup for 2 to start. This was a big serving and very delicious soup. Our two young kids loved it and asked for seconds. We then ordered the orange chicken (not spicy) and the beef bitter melon black bean sauce. Both were extremely delicious! I wanted to try some sushi. But I felt the prices were a little high, so I decided against it. Overall the experience was great and we'd definitely go back if we are in the area.

the staff was very attentive. the establishment was very clean. vast menu options so you really can't go wrong. seated immediately on a friday afternoon & took advantage of the lunch menu.

I came here because my friend highly recommended their squid dish, so I knew I had to order the Three-Cup Squid. I also wanted to try their Chinese water spinach, so we ordered these two dishes to start, just for the two of us. The squid tasted fantastic, with vermicelli at the bottom to absorb all the sauce. However, one thing that bothered me was that the squid innards were still inside, even though the staff said everything is eatable except the hard, plastic-like spinal cord of the squid had been removed. The water spinach was crunchy and flavorful. After that, we ordered one more dish--the pepper salt pork ribs. Unfortunately, they didn't have much flavor and were quite bland. I don't think this is one of their signature dishes here.

Stopped in for dinner with my daughter and it was crowded so there was a slight wait. Seems like many regulars come here. The food was delicious and tasty. The owners are super nice. Definitely will be back whenever we are in the area.

Stopped by after my daughter's school dance and as always, Yen's never disappoints! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by hello's from each worker and the ambiance is very welcoming. Now, let's get to the good part! Here are the dishes we had tonight: Crab Rangoon: 10/10. Their crab rangoons are tasty with their homemade hot mustard sauce. The flavor of the cream cheese filling is perfect. And they don't skimp on the filling which is a huge plus considering most places barely put any in! Hot & Sour soup: 8/10. Just try it. You won't be disappointed! Taiwanese fried chicken: 10/10! This is a staple everytime we come here. It's crispy, flavorful, and just DELICIOUS! Trust me, this is one of the best dishes here and a must try. Orange chicken: 9/10. It's flavorful and perfect amount of sweetness. The boneless chicken are the perfect bite size. I'm already craving for this dish again. Chicken lo mein: 8/10. I'm picky with lo mein and this one is always cooked the way I like it. Not your typical spaghetti noodle type, but a flat, not too thin type of noodle. It's really good and my daughter's favorite. I ask for their homemade chili oil on the side and mix it in. It adds a delicious flavor to it. Can't wait to come back!!

    Dynamite Roll

The food is incredible, high quality!! We ordered the dynamite roll, Sichuan wontons in chili oil, vegetable fried rice, and rice noodles. So surprised at how great the food was. Ambiance is also very nice with just enough volume. Highly recommend. Will be coming back.

    Pot of Jasmine Tea

Our most recent visit here was the second time for us. The first visit, we went to dinner with friends who told us this was their favorite Chinese restaurant. In fact, they go so often that the staff knows them and chats with them. We enjoyed the food and the company. I didn't take any photos during this visit. The ambiance clearly says "Chinese restaurant" with its decor. Both times, we found the seating to be comfortable and the tables were spacious. We came here without our friends recently on a Saturday. Service is great---friendly and efficient. We each ordered hot and sour soup to start. To drink, we got a pot of jasmine tea. For our main courses, we ordered Ma Po Tofu with pork and Mooshu beef. The food was very well prepared. The hot and sour soup had a generous amount of stock in it and the right amount of heat. The jasmine tea was served hot. The only problem was that eventually we let it sit too long in the pot that it got bitter, which is often a problem with tea. The Ma Po Tofu was excellent---it had heat but not too much. In other words, we were able to enjoy all the flavors in this dish without the spice drowning it out. The Mooshu beef came with 6 pancakes, which we found to be a generous amount. The beef was tender and the veggies were tender crisp. The side of plum sauce added a nice layer of flavor. Overall, a great meal both times we were here. Next time we want Chinese food, this is where we will go!

The waitress came to check on us twice in the beginning and after our food arrived we never saw her again. It was not until 20 or 25minutes later that another waitress came by to check on us. Not sure what the hang up was as the restaurant was mostly empty. The side of noodles was weird. I was expecting asian flavors, but we got spaghetti dunked in soy sauce and covered with black pepper. This was also on the kids menu as well, my son could barely eat it due to how spicy it was. My other kid got a Ramen bowl and that was essentially the same noodles as above in a pool of chicken broth that tasted like it was dumped out of a box. It was very bad. Usually when we go to Noku in the Village, my kid devours the Ramen bowl, but this one was left untouched. The maki rolls were OK, but pricy and not worth their value. The rainbow roll, I believe, only had 4 pieces. Also, the pieces of fish on top of the rainbow were very small and underwhelming. The fact that it cost more than our usual sushi places added insult to injury. The Philli roll was more cream cheese than salmon. Finally, some minor issues that demonstrate that the staff doesnt really care: the waitress poured the beer so fast that it was 90%head, and she just moved on; and, when our sushi tray came out the wasabi and ginger were missing. In my 15+ years of eating sushi in all types of places, all over America i have never had a situation where the ginger and wasabi were left out. This was not a major issue for me as mistake happen, no big deal. However, given the poor experience this did not help the matter.

Service was great. The staff here is friendly and efficient. Our server checked on us more than once during our meal. To drink, my husband ordered a Kirin Light beer while I ordered a glass of plum wine. Some Japanese places fill the glass too high, but here, the portion size was reasonable. I ordered "the poke bowl". I chose salmon for my fish. This bowl consists of "Sushi-grade fish topped with vegetables, mixed with poke sauce over a choice of mixed greens or rice". I chose the rice. Before coming here, I looked up "poke sauce." I found a website called "pokebowlny.com." This is the description they gave: "traditional poke sauce blends soy sauce, sesame oil, and often rice vinegar, along with aromatics like garlic and ginger. This classic combination makes the fish taste fresher, the vegetables more vibrant, and the rice more flavorful." The vegetables in the bowl were kernel corn, seaweed salad, and cucumbers. I really enjoyed having this meal! All the flavors worked well together. I look forward to having it again. Along with the poke bowl, a bowl of miso soup is included. That, too, was quite good, and it came to the table quite warm. My husband ordered "Tuna Don," which consists of "fresh tuna sashimi over rice & vegetables. His entrée came with both miso soup and a small side salad. The bowl had a big slice of radish, some seaweed salad, and the usual shredded daikon.
