We stopped in for lunch small place but very busy lots of people picking up take out but also the restaurant was full too. Food was delicious and staff was very friendly. Place was clean menus are hanging in the window of restaurant so you can check it out before going in. Located in a strip mall

Spicy dry pot with beef. You can't tell here but there is a lot of beef!

Still my favorite authentic Chinese food in the area. My go to are the spicy dry pot with beef, spicy beef or fish, and the duck blood intestine (I replace the intestine with fish or beef). If you add some extra protein and it should last you 2-3 meals. At the end I also use the flavorful leftover sauce and add my own ingredients to and make another meal out of it. I ordered the spicy dry pot with extra beef tonight, and want to note that they are generous with the beef. My 8 year daughter loves eating the beef too (dipped in hot water to tone down the spiciness).

Definitely a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant, and for a Sunday night, it was busy. I don't really recommend the place for larger groups, as it looks like they can only really accomodate one large group at a time. We called ahead for our group of 8, but unfortunately that did not secure a table for us.. My favorites were the beef chow fun, the pickled cabbage fish soup, and some hot jasmine green tea! The chow fun reminded me of a less sweet pad see ew and the sour fish soup reminded me of sinigang! We also ordered the sweet/sour short ribs, ganghood fried chicken, and stir fried four seasons veggies. The short ribs and fried chicken portions were a lot smaller than expected, and didn't taste really freshly cooked.

Was craving some Chinese food the other night and was recommended to give this one a try. Located in the plaza across from Bruster's in Vienna and was not sure what to expect. Initially, I thought it was a sit down restaurant but it was a mix of the typical carry out with a few tables for sit down style. We walked in and the tables were all full and placed our order. The staff was very pleasant and helpful even helping us make a decision. We were told it would take 15 mins which was very fast service. When we got home, the food was still very hot and omg it was delicious. The eggplant dish was not overly oily and the eggplant still had bite. The lazi chicken was very crispy and definitely packed a punch. The mala dry pot was a nice mix of veggies and they were very generous with the fish. We had it the next day for lunch and everything reheated well. Will definitely be going back!!

tl;dr: This Sichuan restaurant in Vienna has a lot of great options to choose from, including dishes that can be made gluten-free. I've been wanting to try Chili Wok for a long time now, and I finally stopped by for dinner. Chili Wok specializes in Sichuan food, and they have an extensive menu. One cool thing is that they have several items that are already gluten-free. If you would like to make an item gluten-free, that is also possible. I tried a little bit of everything here: - Chili Pork Dumplings - Some of the best that I've had! These weren't just dumplings sitting oil, this oil was delicious and flavorful. They were the perfect spice level. - Lazi Chicken - This is a spicy/peppery deep fried chicken. It was good, although I wish the pieces were slightly bigger. Great for sharing. - Mala Dry Hot Pot -- Spicy and delicious! Do you like the mouth numbing taste of Sichuan peppercorns? If so, you will love this. Overall, Chili Wok is a great choice for Sichuan-style Chinese food. Whether you choose to dine-in or get take-out, you're in a good meal! Ambiance: The restaurant is nicely decorated, and there are several tables if you choose to dine-in (probably would advise no more than 4 or so people.) Parking: There is a big parking lot in the shopping center. Parking is super easy.

Love this place! I ordered takeout and was genuinely impressed with how good the food was! The mapo tofu, beef chow fun, and chicken were all so tasty. The only dish I wouldn't get again is the crab rangoon

I heard from a reliable source that Chili Wok is the best Sichuan-style cuisine in Nova, so a few friends and I grabbed dinner here this past Thursday. The interior is set up similar to a cafeteria style with the register in the back. We saw multiple groups come in and out for pick-up orders. Overall, not a whole lot of frills, but a clean space. LAZI CHICKEN - 18 My friend insisted on getting the Lazi Chicken which ended up being a huge hit. Each bite of chicken was perfectly fried and crispy with so much aromatics and spice that created a satisfying, numbing feeling. Some pieces were mainly breading and not a whole lot of chicken. However, it wasn't too spicy. STIR-FRIED BABY BOK CHOY WITH GARLIC - 15 The bok choy was very garlicky and the texture was perfect. The veggies were fresh and stir-fried with the right heat and time. Nothing else to say here. It is a good cleansing option when the other three entrees contained more of the spice and flavor. CUMIN WITH LAMB - 18 The cumin had a smoky, savory flavor that had the perfect amount of mala mixed in. This one had more a numbing aftertaste. The lamb was tender and contained all the stir-fried and cumin flavors. The garnish on the side added additional aromatics and flavors. The cumin lamb is a classic Sichuan dish and it was done well here. PICKLED CABBAGE FISH SOUP - 25 This came in a large white ceramic bowl filled with milky-colored soup, generous amount of flounder fish, pickled cabbage, mushrooms, tofu skin, bean sprouts, vermicelli, lotus roots, and a whole bunch of garnish. The soup was creamy and savory, lightly sour and spicy. It went well with the fish, which was perfectly soft. The other toppings were great additions. This was my favorite entree out of four and I would highly recommend. It's also not too spicy (or at all spicy). The entrees we got were not as spicy as we expected, but I'm also OK with that because I'm not great with mala spice. If you want it spicy, I would ask for more. The food was good and flavorful, and I'm glad I found a reliable Sichuan option in the area without having to drive to Rockville.

This was a pleasant surprise! I didn't expect much from such a small spot, but everything we ordered was genuinely tasty. We had: * Mala hotpot (lamb) -- generous portion, great flavor, and tender lamb. I also loved the variety of ingredients. * Dumplings in chili sauce -- savory pork filling with al dente wrappers; a solid, satisfying dish. * Cilantro and fish spring roll -- creative and delicate in flavor; nicely done. * Wood ear salad -- balanced soy-vinegar dressing with good texture. Attentive service and a clean interior. I'd happily come back.

omg did not expect this place to be sooo good!! This is a no-frills place to get delicious Sichuan food, so don't expect an ambiance. Probably not the spot for a celebration meal. Rather, it's a humble and cozy little spot which guarantees a good meal. My friends and I shared the fried cauliflower, lazi chicken, and mala dry hot pot. All provided that numbing peppercorn sensation that I love. They didn't skimping out on the portions, which I appreciate. I think if you enjoy Mama Chang's, then you'll definitely like Chili Wok.

While this place has multiple pictures of the food up on the wall and door that resembles a typical Chinese takeout, the food is definitely authentic. It is hard to find Chinese restaurants in the DMV that are able to provide authentic spiciness but Chili Wok delivers per it's namesake. The peppers in the La Zi Chicken are super spicy while the chicken itself is not that spicy and this the dish could be shared between those who can handle heat and those who can't. The boiled fish was another fantastic dish that was prepared differently than the typical boiled fish but tasted spicy and delicious nevertheless. The rice was super fragrant. The staff won't be proactive in their service such as automatically refilling the water, but ask and the staff will deliver promptly. The staff had a great attitude. I accidentally broke a bowl of rice and the staff promptly came to clean it up. The staff was also able to let us reserve a table for 8 people in advance. While the prices aren't exactly cheap, it is a great value considering the authentic quality and flavors. This has become my go to restaurant in NoVa for spicy Chinese food.

This small restaurant is quaint but the taste of the food is completely packed full of flavor. We had the dumplings, mala dry pot and the golden crispy mountain. Each item was served quickly and so delicious. I'm salivating just thinking about when I can go back to eat here again.

Luv the food here! Spicy means spicy so be aware. Our main was the spicy cabbage soup... filled with flounder, veggies including my fav lotus root.... Enough to share IMO either way 4 people... depends on your appetite! They do a lot of take away but I prefer to eat in especially with ordering a soup! We also got pan fried pork dumplings. Not a fan of the sauce which is on the sweet side that comes with it... rather just use the chili and soy on the table to create my own. Note: things come out when ready in the kitchen... so we got our soup first than dumplings... which we are okay with... but if your wanting something first order that than wait before ordering other items.

My sadness at the end of the long running Great Wall Szechuan House, the one place in DC where you could really get a high quality ma po tofu, was mitigated by the discovery of this suburban outlet. It is a small shop operating mostly as a takeout. For dining in, the people who were theoretically providing service appeared quite attached to their phones and it was difficult to get their attention. The food, however, delivered. They offer a vegetarian section, which is notable in that Chinese cuisine has lots of non-vegetarian tofu dishes (Americans think tofu means vegetarian, but this is not always the case). I started with a salad made of murshooms which are variously called names like "woodear" and "black fungus". The name doesn't exactly sell them, but the crispness is distinctive. Here, they had a sweet and sour sauce for these mushrooms, which is atypical in my experience. The flavor combination worked anyway. Indeed it was so good I had to think about whether my mapo tofu would come off second betst. The tofu, however, delivered. A rich peppery aroma greeted me, and the flavor was a classic mix of salty and savory clashed with the astringent herbal note of Sichuan pepper. There were a handful of other things on the menu I might consider, but they provided what I asked of them.
