    Singe party Smashburger and fries

Went on 4th of July and they were having a popup with smashburger special. The burger was solid. It had a tangy flavor from the burger sauce and you can feel how juicy the burger is. Only problem was it did look like it came out a bit colder than I expected but far from stale. Price was reasonable and would recommend. Area was quite a bit small but I was able to still find a location to eat

I'll admit, this review is a little biased as my husband and I were frequent diners at Clarity when it was owned by Chef Jon Krinn as that is where we first encountered Chef Nick and Sam and have been following/supporting them ever since the Clarity transition. We definitely went to the Dabney quite a bit when Sam was working there. But, as for Evelyn Rose - we couldn't be more thrilled. When the Bazins announced that they were selling their restaurant, I honesty couldn't think of better new owners, and they have just nailed it. Food: The food is excellent. Always well-seasoned with lots of choices for all different appetites and preferences. A few specific touches that I personally love - half portions of pasta, options on an a la carte menu as well as a tasting menu (every evening!) and the ability to often order courses a la carte off the tasting menu. Flexibility is the name of their game, and it is truly appreciated. Chef Nick really has a way with fish, and that's frequently what I order there, but honestly, I think only one time did I have a dish that I felt was sub-par (I had a meat dish that was slightly overcooked and a tad dry) but that's a few and far between occurrence. Last night I had the rockfish dish which was perfectly crisped, and the sauce and beans that accompanied it were just perfect. My husband had the gnocchi which was light and fluffy. Service: Sam, the co-owner and Sommelier, is really just amazing at hospitality. He is friendly, warm, and always looking to ensure you are having a great experience. He's put together a small, but well-curated wine list - nothing overly expensive, and wines that you'd 'expect' to see as well as hidden gems. He's always willing to offer advice on wine pairings - not just for the tasting menu but the a la carte menu, which is always appreciated by my husband and I. Aside from Sam, generally, the service is attentive most times we have dined there - most of the time, if the service is lagging a bit, it's usually because they are packed! Vibe: Evelyn Rose has a cozy, warm vibe. Lots of exposed wood and blue and gold tones throughout the restaurant. Do note that it can get loud, especially on weekends when they are packed. Other: We are very blessed to have such an excellent restaurant down the street. Don't take my word for it - we were at Albi just a few nights ago and when we mentioned to the bartender we live in Vienna, they said "oh, have you been to Evelyn Rose?" (seriously!) Coming from a bartender at a one-star Michelin restaurant...I'd say that's quite the compliment. Looking forward to many more dinners at Evelyn Rose!

Evelyn rose continues to be the go-to spot for my husband and I to celebrate. The food is absolutely delicious. The vibes are cozy and the staff are so friendly ! Love it here

Came here for the birthday celebration as the place is highly rated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The owner also makes rounds asking the guests whether they are enjoying the place. The menu had a good selections of food and drinks options. The pre-fix tasting menu was a hit for ~$80 and featured 6 courses. Everything was decisions and the total amount of food was more than enough. My companion had fresh-made pasta that was great as well. The wines are very reasonable priced, we had a bottle for $85 that sells in stores for $50. The interior is simple, yet somehow when you are inside, it feels cozy. Will be happy to return when in the area.

Excellent meal. Spectacular service. Warm and inviting atmosphere! Every dish was well thought out with supporting flavors and textures plated with the main element. Not a single bite that was unremarkable. Each dish was approachable but still elevated if that makes sense. The "crust" on my rockfish was torched I believe rather than simply browned in a hot pan. This made for great flavor and texture contrast. The tamale my dining partner ordered was an absolute smash - a little heat a little sweet and again a nice finishing cook. Scallops were cooked to perfection and serving them over spaghetti squash was a great choice. Not inexpensive but so worth it for a special occasion.

A cozy warm ambiance with friendly staff and bartender. We went at 4:40 PM and were told no tables available until 7, but it remained empty when we left at 5:50. We sat at the bar and there was a happy hour menu. Food was great. Pumpkin pierogis couldn't have been better!

Great atmosphere, excellent Service, and well prepared food food. I especially liked the white asparagus and salmon appetizer, which was part of the restaurant week menu.

If You're Looking For An Old Fashioned, Romantic, And Cozy Vibe, This Is The Place. The Service Is Phenomenal And The Workers Were Extremely Helpful In Describing Each Item On The Menu. The Food Definitely Lives Up To The New American Cuisine As Each Dish Had A Something Different About Them. I Was Surprised With The Fried Green Tomatoes And The Veal, As Those Two Were My Favorite. 10/10 Would Recommend And Come Back Here.

I have been here 4 times so far and they are solid 3.5. They are the separation from Clarity, which used to be my favorite restaurant. It unfortunately, did not deliver. 1. Reservation: necessary 2. Service: oblivious and very snobby 3. Food: expensive for the quality and taste - prix fixe menu was also not as good as I hoped. 4. Drinks: mixed drinks are mediocre. Best to stick with wine here. 5. Tables are insanely close to each other and you can hear EVERYTHING the table next to you is talking. There is NO Privacy. I hate this kinda set up so much. They are still very popular and always packed. Each time, I was one of maybe 3 non-white people in the restaurant. It certainly attracts very particular type of clientele.

I came for restaurant week and everything was pretty tasty! My favorites were definitely the tuna tartare and wagyu beef. Our server was friendly and our dishes came out quick which I was surprised. The place always seems extremely busy so the service can be a little slow. I asked for a straw multiple times and got one after asking 2-3 times and our server forgot to put in our crab salad order... The main demographic is older white people. Overall, this is a great place for upscale American food! This is my second time back and I definitely want to try other things on the menu.

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Vienna. Came here on a Saturday night during opening time with a friend. We were told that they did not have any open tables until 7:30. However the entire time that we sat there there were plenty of tables open. Not sure if they were understaffed or what the issue with tables are. My friend and I were seated at the bar which was pretty packed. We were served the focaccia bread which was delicious and paired with an olive oil. I ordered the scallops as my main entrée. While I found the dish very tasty it was not executed well. The spaghetti squash was all lumped up and the flavored didn't meld well. For the price point and the level of restaurant I would've expected better execution on the dish overall.

This place has it all, stellar service, sexy ambiance, and above all, the food and desserts will make you forget about the slight stress you may have incurred while trying to secure parking. Jokes aside, this place is great for a family dinner, celebratory meal, girls dinner, or just a night you don't feel like cooking and went to dine out; the place is perfect for all occasions. I love how you're not limited to the whole tasting menu and can order of it if you want to, you can also order an appetizer or entree portion. Their menu seems to constantly rotate with special attention to seasonal items incorporated into the menu as well. Our server Sean (not sure about the spelling, sorry) was fantastic yesterday; super attentive but also gave us space if we were in the middle of a juicy topic and made some great menu and wine recommendations, he even packed up our leftover portions so neatly as well! I'm also not a huge dessert fan but Evelyn Rose's pasty chef, Liese...I am a fan of her and her work! She is back at Evelyn Rose and I couldn't be happier to have her back with her deserts with such a fun twist! Can't wait to go back. Keep up the great work and if you can, please build a dedicated parking garage on your roof or something so I can just roll myself back to the car.

Always a great time here. I had the tasting menu and the food was to-die-for! Every course was delectable and beautiful. Just love the attention to detail and culinary excellence here. Incredible service. Will come back over and over again!

It has a clean, upscale feel that honestly reminded me of walking into a Louis Vuitton boutique. Even the logo has that same luxury vibe. We ordered four drinks: the Pistachio Tea, Snowy Jasmine, Jasmine Tea, and Jasmine Apple Tea. My favorite part was that you could actually taste the tea instead of just sweetness. The jasmine teas had a delicate floral aroma that lingered after every sip, and the finish was smooth and refreshing. The Pistachio Tea was rich and nutty without being heavy, and the Snowy Jasmine had a light, creamy texture that paired really well with the fragrant tea. The Jasmine Apple Tea was interesting. I personally enjoyed it, but both of my kids thought it had a slight Pepto-Bismol-like aftertaste. Taste is subjective, though, and I'd still order it again to give it another try. The shop was moderately busy, and all four drinks were ready in about five minutes. We spent around $45 for the drinks, and I also picked up a Molly pin for my teenager, who loved it. The only downside is the price. It's definitely on the expensive side for tea, so it probably won't become an everyday stop for me. That said, the quality of the tea, the beautiful presentation, and the overall experience were excellent. I'd happily come back as a repeat customer when I'm in the area. If you enjoy premium tea that lets the tea itself shine instead of just tasting like sugar, Molly Tea is worth checking out

My friend got the filet mignon which she enjoyed. Brian was an excellent server, making sure we had everything we need, handled several requests with promptness and professionalism, and had our bread pudding dessert decorated with "Happy Birthday" for my friend. First time: I had the lobster roll which came heaped with lobster chunks. I had to eat the lobster for a while before I could pick it up or risk the lobster falling out - so nice not to be hungry after getting a lobster roll! It came with a generous serving shoestring fries - really good and grilled corn on the cob. We had Aracely and Delilaha, two friendly and wonderful waitstaff, one of whom was being trained and the other had been there for years. My friend told them that it was my birthday, and they came out later with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with happy birthday written in chocolate and a candle in whipped cream. I was also impressed how even a straw wrapper sitting on the table was scooped up by someone coming by. The tall ceilings gave the restaurant an open, airy atmosphere. Next door is the associated bakery where they have cupcakes, pastries, cinnamon rolls, and other lovely treats.

I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They offer a prix-fixe menu that changes seasonally (?) for brunch and dinner. The ingredients here are high-quality and well prepared and cared for before serving. I've heard great things about Maple Ave from a friends, so I took my family here for dinner this past Wednesday. We really enjoyed the creativity of how the dishes were crafted and plated here and the execution was also phenomenal. This time around, it was 59.00 per person for a 4-course prix-fixe dinner (two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert). Since there were only a couple options per section, we were able to try all the options they had. FIRST: APPLE HAZELNUT SOUP Creamy, pale colored soup with a thicker consistency similar to butternut squash soup. It was lightly sweet, yet savory at the same time. There were some pickled apples and toasted hazelnuts delicately sprinkled on top that added a bit of a crunch. The soup was unique and we enjoyed it. FIRST: ROOTCAKE Between the rootcake and the apple hazelnut soup, the rootcake was my favorite. The vegetables were caramelized and made into a patty, topped generously with almonds with some umami aïoli and pimenton sauce. The rootcake was so good. Each bite was hearty and rich, and it's such a unique way to prepare vegetables. The sauce enhanced each bite and the almonds provided a nutty texture. I would recommend the rootcake as your first option. SECOND: CRISPY SQUASH NUGGETS I didn't think I would enjoy the crispy squash nuggets as much as I did. The roasted squash is breaded with panko crumbs, sitting in some dill yogurt sauce and topped with some raisins and radish. The squash were perfectly seasoned and crispy with a soft interior that left my taste buds wanting more. The dill yogurt sauce was a good complement. I'd definitely recommend this option if you're not a fan of mushrooms and/or you want something more crispy. SECOND: WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO One of the best mushroom risottos I've ever had. It's rich and creamy, filled with truffle flavor. The shiitake mushrooms had a dry, crispy texture. The manchego shavings on top were a great plus. The squash was used for coloring and probably some flavoring? Not sure. The whole thing was really good and memorable. I'd definitely recommend! THIRD: SHRIMP I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, but my family loved it along with the citrus braised fennel. I was a fan of the creamy semolina, though! Overall, it wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference. THIRD: PORK CONFIT STEAK The pork they used was pork belly (?) and seared very nicely, topped with perfectly crispy potatoes, mangoes (?), brown butter sweet potato puree and chimi churri sauce. The pork belly melted in my mouth but as someone who's not the biggest fan of fatty pork, I wish it was a leaner cut. The potatoes were so good and went well with the sweet potato puree. Even though I didn't love the pork confit steak, I'd recommend this entree over the shrimp. FOURTH: MOCK FRIED "APPLE" PIE It was zucchini instead of apple and you can't even tell. I loved the crispy pie exterior which was lightly topped with cinnamon. The vanilla bean ice cream was my favorite as it was creamy and smooth. The dulce de leche and lavender honey were nice touches. Very nice way to end the meal. All the food here were so rich with lots of complex flavors. Each dish was so beautifully plated with many vibrant colors. We were quite full after all the food we ate. I would recommend coming here with another person to try all the options they offer here! The food here is unique and well-executed, and I'd be open to come back to try a different seasonal menu.
