Appetizer apple donuts after eating, almost all of them. CHIPPED plates.
    Marianne C.

Three stars for service-- it was just bad. Four stars for food--it was good, not great. Absolutely love this new location. It's a much better facility than the one in Arlington. Arlington is much closer, but this one just looks a lot nicer. Sitting down outdoors I almost felt like I was in Key West. They also seem to have added boxes of flowers, which is a nice touch. Service was not good. The young man even volunteered that he's well paid so that shouldn't be an issue. It took at least 15/20 minutes for me to get my iced tea after I had to ask for it again. The food came and the hashbrowns were not warm. We had to ask for honey butter for the biscuits. It did come with a raspberry sauce, but we wanted to also add the honey butter. The honey butter never came. Because we've already had to ask a couple of times about the iced tea we didn't bother asking for the butter again. Had to ask for a refill on my iced tea, something the waiter should've been watching for. We ate our eggs without any salt and pepper. There doesn't appear to be any salt and pepper anywhere. That's not a problem if the waiter would just verify before you eat if you want additional spices/condiments AND bring them; even had to ask the waitress, who brought my tea, to bring me sugar. Our waiter was very difficult to get a hold of and the other young man we tried to flag down just ignored us. So, trying to ask for anything else while you're dining is not got by to happen. I even suggested that I call the front desk on my phone to get service. Not good. The waiter explained the reason for the long delay in my iced tea is that the bar gets too busy during brunch. Evidently they know it gets busy so they should adjust for that. That really is not an excuse. The appetizer Apple donuts are yummy with a lovely raspberry sauce. My eggs were over easy a little overdone, but I'm not going to be picky about that. Interesting, we went into a retail store and they asked where we had just been. We explained everything and she too, said she had bad service at Ruthie's. We will try it one more time, but if the service is this bad again, it really is too irritating to go back. p.s. The appetizer donuts were served on a chipped plate. Again, that really shouldn't happen because this is supposed to be a nice restaurant.

I've never heard of Ruthie's but if you name a brunch spot, I'm there! This was actually a random impromptu visit that I'm really glad I decided to do. There's a parking lot that's about a block away from the restaurant but if full there are plenty of parking garages nearby. The restaurant has a good selection of food on the menu, and I liked that there was a nice variety of options to choose from. I had a hard time choosing because I wanted quite a few things. RUTHIE'S ALL-DAY LEMONADE was amazing. I asked for it to be a tad bit sweeter than it was originally so it pretty much tasted like lemonade. The DEVILED EGGS were probably my least favorite item on the menu. The filling tasted as if it had too much mayonnaise. It drowned out the taste of all the other elements. It was really imbalanced. The BRISKET BENNIE was another favorite of mine. Seasoned beautifully and flavorful. The PULLED PORK MARSH HEN GRITS BOWL was in desperate need of some salt. Adding a bit of that would have really brought out the flavor of the pulled pork and grits. I was disappointed because I was most excited to try this item. All in all, Ruthie's All Day wasn't a bad brunch spot. I liked the variety on the menu, the parking was convenient, the food was okay and the service was good. However, I don't think it was quite memorable enough for me to go out of my way to return.

First time here. Doesn't look like a BBQ joint inside and looks more like a bistro but the Q is legit. Ribs were amazing with a little kick and the Brussels were really good and different with the fish sauce seasoning. Butterscotch pudding was amazing

We finally made it to Ruthie's. After seeing that other Yelpers recommended making a reservation, my husband made one for Saturday at 5 p.m. When we got there, the man at the host stand told us to take a seat, as he had others who were there first and needed a seat. Our wait wasn't very long at all. We were taken to a 2-top booth, which had an adequate amount of space. Our server/bartender, Jorge, was prompt getting to us and took our drink orders. He definitely knew his job and did it well. I chose a mocktail, "tea refresher" which consists of: "iced tea, ginger, mint". It was a very refreshing and flavorful drink. My husband had a Clausthaler beer. For an appetizer, we got deviled eggs. The portion size is 4 halves. which are flavored with "chives, garlic croutons, paprika". We enjoyed them...but...our favorite deviled eggs are the ones Jackson's has. Dinner entree portions come in either small or large portions. We both chose to have the small portions. I chose to order "Wood Grilled Roseda Farms Tri-Tip Steak", which consists of: "slices of Tri-Tip, charred scallion chimichurri, and beanaise". Each entree comes with either 2 or 3 sides. For my two sides, I chose "Marsh hen grits" and "Braised greens smoked tomato." I liked the tri-tip, even though it wasn't very tender, the flavor was good. The grits had a mild cheese in them, which didn't overtake them. The greens were okay, but I've had better. The two sides stayed nice and warm through the meal. My husband ordered "Wood grilled Salmon" which was seasoned with: "lemon pepper butter". For his two sides, he chose "Marsh hen grits" and "mac and cheese". The salmon was properly cooked: fall apart tender and very tasty. He particularly liked the grits. The mac and cheese could have had more cheesy flavor. We looked at the dessert menu and decided to try the "apple maple cobbler"...but...alas!...they were out of it. So, we decided to skip dessert. My husband ordered a Cappuccino to finish his meal. Overall, service was excellent: every staff member we dealt with was very friendly, polite, and helpful. Despite the noisy kids, we would go to Ruthie's again.

My sister and I walked in on a Saturday for brunch. We were able to sit at the bar which meant we got the pleasure of dining with Nam. He welcomed us with whit and warmth. He was timely with our drinks which were delicious and had tons of recommendations. We started with the apple donuts which I loved. They were warm and fluffy and the perfect level of sweetness to go with my coffee. My sister isn't a big raspberry person but really enjoyed the jam. I got the brisket bennie with a side of hash browns. The brisket was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender and the egg was poached perfectly. The hash browns are more like latkes and are a MUST - crispy and soft at the same time. My sister got the fried chicken biscuit with a side of fruit and the hashbrowns. The fruit was super fresh. The chicken was moist and flavorful. We will definitely be back here!

I've been wanting to try Ruthie's, but didn't want to deal with the trouble of going to Arlington. After trying them out here, I would say I get why they're so popular. This place is much larger than I was expecting, which is definitely warranted as there's always a wait on the weekends. My table split the skillet cornbread, which was great! Not too sweet and a heaping amount of butter piled on top. It's a bit heavy, but that's to be expected from cornbread. For my main, I got the brisket bennie, and this was good. All of the components of a traditional Eggs Benedict were there and done well (perfectly poached egg). The brisket was a nice touch, but I think it was maybe too much? Or it may have been the presentation of an entire slice of brisket between the egg and bread that made it harder to eat than necessary. The salad was a much-needed break in the richness. Overall, it's a filling dish and the flavors are nice, but I think I would opt for something lighter next time.

The restaurant is beautiful and well lit. Service was friendly and prompt. The cornbread was delicious and so were the wings. My daughter enjoyed her steak and grits, not the fries. I enjoyed the tenders and fries, but not the collards. I think it was the tomatoes. My daughter's friend really enjoyed her burger, but not the rice. My husband enjoyed his entire meal. I don't know if we would return as we were only in the area for a baseball showcase.

First time at Ruthie's all-day and this has been on my list of restaurants to must try for a while. While I did not go for their breakfast, their dinner was delicious! The ruthie's meat + two/three sides is awesome and gives you a lot of food to try. I got the tri-tip steak which was cooked perfectly and my partner got the 1/2 citrus marinated chicken which we were both surprised at how juicy it was. Not dry at all and full of flavor. We were so hungry this day that we actually finished all our food, but they are generous with their portions that you could really have leftovers. Restaurant interior and exterior decor is very cute. I will definitely return to try their breakfast after this experience.

This was my first visit to Ruthie's All-Day, but my friend had been a regular at the Arlington location. Our visit did not disappoint! It was a lovely evening, so we sat outside. I started with the Black Velvet cocktail (pictured), which was a mix of tequila, blackberry shrub, vanilla, lime, and egg white - a tasty blend. My friend tried the Garden Party, never having tried elderflower liqueur before; he found it a little sweet. We both switched to the Coco-Locomotion cocktail for our second drinks, and that was very refreshing, very summer-y, transporting us to the islands in our minds. For appetizers, we shared Harry's hot hush puppies with shrimp and roasted jalapeño; and their deviled eggs. Both were excellent choices. The hush puppies came with the dipping sauce that played off the flavors perfectly. And who doesn't like a well-executed deviled egg? For dinner, we shared a meal with smoked brisket, selecting the brussels sprouts and potato salad as our sides. We nearly licked the plate and bowls clean, it was THAT GOOD! Even the complimentary pickles on the plate disappeared. It was plenty of food, but we somehow managed to give their warm chocolate chip campfire cookies a try for dessert. (I mean, how could you not?) It was an excellent meal, great service, and I will be coming back for a return visit very soon. Definitely make a reservation so there's no wait, as I can see this place becoming very popular even on weeknights. They don't stay open super late, so plan accordingly!

I recently checked out Ruthie's in Fairfax with a friend, and while I enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was a bit underwhelming. The restaurant itself is really cute and has a fun 50s/60s diner-inspired vibe. The decor was probably my favorite part of the experience and made for a great spot to catch up with a friend. We started with the wings, trying both the dry rub and buffalo flavors. Unfortunately, neither stood out. The dry rub was a little too dry for my taste, and even the buffalo wings seemed to lack the saucy, flavorful punch I was expecting. We both also ordered the fried chicken sandwiches. It was decent, but it was just two of their chicken tenders placed on a bun. It wasn't bad, just not particularly memorable. We finished with the warm cookies and ice cream for dessert. I was looking forward to freshly baked chocolate chip cookies with that gooey consistency, but it didn't quite deliver. Overall, Ruthie's has a charming atmosphere and is worth visiting for the nostalgic vibe, but the food didn't quite wow me.

Lovely southern comfort food spot! It was super busy when we dined on a Friday for lunch. Surprisingly our favorite protein was the branzino! Did not expect that from a bbq spot but it was cooked perfectly, so moist and tender and the sauce on top of it was divine. Steak was pretty good but smallish for the price it was like 6 slices? We also loved pretty much all of the side dishes. Biscuits had a light jalapeño aftertaste which I absolutely loved, the grits were super creamy and flavorful and perfectly executed, Mac & cheese top notch also super rich & addicting and the little crumbs add the fun texture, the arugula salad freshened up the entire plate, and the roasted Brussels sprouts also was a great pairing with the whole meal. It took more than 10 minutes to flag down a server to order but they're all super nice and they were clearly swamped, so they offered a corn bread for the delayed service (which was amazing. Has both a sweet and salty profile that we loved). Management should work on proper staffing for busy days but other than that all was great!

Food is overall good. Brisket was okay, a little tough (forgot to take a pic). Love their cornbread and biscuits! Service was great, everyone is so nice and the ambience is cute - love the flowers and the way it feels cozy.

I would definitely recommend booking a reservation in advance especially during weekend brunch. If we hadn't, we would have to wait for at least an hour to eat inside. Outdoor seating was still somewhat available, but I did not want to eat in 100 degree weather. I ordered the brisket bennie and the brisket was so good!! I also enjoyed the biscuit underneath it all too. My friend got the apple pie pancakes and it looked really good. She said the apples were sweet but the whipped topping balanced it out well. Although I did think the prices were expensive for what you get, I did enjoy the food overall. I would come back here.

There was a QR code to scan and enter your license plate number by the 2nd floor elevator, but I kept pressing Continue even outside the garage and could not get the webpage to take my license or have an indication of it knew about my car. I was there about 2.5 hours, and the fee at the box when I exited was close to $15 but with the Founding Father's 2 hour validation, it was more like $5.
